My wife and I have moved many times all over the USA and I can say without hesitation that Charlotte Van & Storage was, by far, the best mover we have used. We had our belonging packed and stored for about 6 months before relocating from NC to GA. CLT V&S did an excellent job of packing (no crystal or other glassware was broken) and storing our stuff in conditioned storage. Delivery was difficult because our cabin is on top of a very steep hill. They had to offload to a smaller 17' truck in order to make the curves to the cabin. Even after handling the furniture and boxes several times, there was minimal damage. From the beginning, the people at CLT V&S were friendly and willing to work with us in all our needs and requirements. I was so impressed with the packing and loading crews that I requested them by name for the delivery. They were especially careful to protect the house we were moving from and the cabin we moved in to by placing protective coverings on doorways and floors. I would use CLT V&S again and highly recommend them.

I had such a great experience with Charlotte Van and Storage. They moved all of my items from my 3rd floor condo with no elevator and stored them for 2 months and then moved me into a new apartment. The movers were great each time, so professional and wouldn't let me lift a finger which was such a nice change! The office staff called the day before to verify when the truck would show up and I had no problems. Not one item was broken or missing, even after 2 months of storage. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!! I am in the mortgage business and have heard horror stories about movers around town and had a few myself. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to move my Dad into a retirement home (about two miles from his house in South Carolina) and ship two roomfuls of materials to my house cross-country in ONE WEEK! He went out of his way to accommodate us in an unusual situation where we could not be present when he did the survey. Overall, the service at Charlotte Van and Storage was excellent and we would use them again. We had a difficult move. They picked up our household goods and stored them on the truck for 1 month and delivered them to our new house. I felt the pick-up was a little slow but the delivery and set-up of the househld items at our new house was outstanding. The storage worked out great. The company's estimate was very close to our actual cost and I appreciated this. Overall, I found all people at Charlotte Van very honest and very helpful with our move.

I chose this company based on all of the excellent reviews they have received from past customers and I only wish I would have been one of them. I'm sure the company is great as a whole (that's why I gave at least 1 star to be fair to the others) but the individual I had to work with left a horrible lasting impression. I had a simple local move of a couple of pieces and after the initial phone call, we established a date to accommodate their schedule, not mine. I was instructed to send him an e-mail with all the details which I did but I didn't get a reply. More than a week later I sent a 2nd e-mail with still no reply. I called the same guy the day we were supposed to move and he told me they have nothing on the books for me but would call me back after reading my week-old e-mail which by the way had the date of the move. I didn't get a call back that morning. I had to contact customer service to make this happen. Once I got the call back later that afternoon from him, he told me the price which had doubled from what I was originally told. When I asked why, he said they have overhead expenses and a 4hr minimum which was never told to me in our first phone call. If this job was too small for them, I wish he would have been honest enough to tell me from the beginning and not inflate the price just to get rid of me.

I was relocating 1,000 miles from home. Everyone over the phone that I talked to from charlotte Van and Storage were very professonal. The people that came to pick up and drop off my items were not as much, but that did not really matter a lot. The only downfall I had was that they were supposed to pick up my belongings on a monday, but called the wednesday night before and said that they would like to come on that friday (which only gave me two days to pack... five days less than what I thought I had!!!). I figured I would be accommodating and went with their request. Unfortunately my belongings sat in a warehouse for a week and a half after that, and I was not updated on when my belongings would arrive until the night before they were supposed to arrive. Overall not a bad company, but I would just like to be updated more often, and not have my belongings sitting in a warehouse waiting to be picked up for ten days. They arrived an hour after they said they would arrive (they said they would be here to drop everything off between 1 and 3 and they arrived at 4). The good thing about charlotte van and storage was that they were careful with my belongings and made sure that I had everything in the right spot, and that nothing was damaged before they left.

This is the 2nd time we've used Charlotte Van & Storage. They delivered a large gun safe to us last year, so we called them again when we made a move to a new home this year. They moved not only the safe, but all of our heavy items. They were professional and courteous, and took care of our furniture. They were very conscientious of the new carpet and careful to lay down boards and tarps. Through a mishap, they were not told ahead of time that they were moving more items than originally planned; however, they were very nice about having to move more than anticipated and spending more time on our move. From the beginning of my move process from Virginia through to the end to North Carolina, Charlotte Van & Storage staff were extremely responsive and thorough in explaining and answering all my questions about my move. When I was ready to have my belongings delivered, after six months in storage, I was surprised at how quickly they could schedule the delivery to my new home. The movers did an excellent job of delivering all boxes and furniture. No furniture was damaged and all boxes arrived. They quickly assembled what needed assembling, and placed everything where I had asked. And, I just had the walls of my new home painted prior to arriving in my new home and the movers didn't mark or scratch any area. I was very impressed by the quality of the move and the helpful, professionalism manner of everyone I interacted with at Charlotte Van & Storage. I will definitely use them again for my next move!

We moved into a new home with a steep hill and three stories -and these guys didn't scratch a floor or nick a single wall! Hustled in heat until 10pm to get it all done! Amazing! We did our part to keep them hydrated and fed then tipped them well to show our appreciation of their professionalism and carefulness with our belongings. There were a few blips here and there with the logistical end of things, but Mr.Watson was very responsive and got things back on track. I hate to have to do this. We used Charlotte Van & Storage, an affiliate of Mayflower to move our items down to Florida. I can’t help but let everyone know that our experience was absolutely terrible and makes me never want to hire movers ever again. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Other than our high quality bed-set getting scraped so bad that the paint came off, a divider getting damaged to the point that we cannot put it back together, our floors getting scratched upon moving the dressers into a bedroom - something beyond these items disturbed me so much more. A Mayflower rep comes to give an estimate of moving costs for your items as well as to determine the size of the transportation needed to move your items. The movers we had, “Big D” and “Hercules,” emptied one of our boxes “in order to fit our items on the truck” that was also transporting one other customer. While these men were unloading, I noticed small items from the box were coming in. Only three items from a MEDIUM sized box. When I asked what happened I received the above response, and when I asked where the rest of the items in the box were, I was told “this is all that was in the box.” You moved over 5,000 tons of personal property yet a medium box had to be “emptied” to get it to fit? You are going to tell the packer of the box that only three items were in the box with a “ton of paper?” You are going to do so without notifying the customer? We could have had that box “with three things” shipped. In addition to this disturbing issue, we experienced the following: Bar cart scratched Lamp base scratched Two lamp shades dented in Couch scratched Peloton scratched 6-7 damaged boxes One lamp shade missing Middle base of second bed missing Parts for second bed missing Wall scratched in kitchen Washer scraped on side in laundry room I take pride in my OCD and keeping my own inventory list due to movers transporting our lives worth of personal items across country, do not try to tell me what was in a medium sized box that I packed for the move. I will tell you exactly what was in it within our Claims paperwork. Thank you for now making us fill out Claims paperwork in addition to; starting new jobs, unpacking, setting up electric/cable/security, and getting into a new routine in a new home. This was a task in the move that was supposed to be over the minute you delivered our items. A task in the move that was meant to be avoided with a reputable company (Mayflower) and paying thousands of dollars for. Thank you for adding one more thing onto my list because you did not do your job correctly “with 25-30 years experience.” Goes to show experience might just not be everything.

Friendly staff that took the time to explain every detail and step of the process. We would not recommend Mayflower Moving. We have relocated a number of times - both intrastate and in-state and this was our first time using Mayflower Moving. This was a corporate relo from Denver, CO to Charlotte, NC and our goods went into storage for 3-1/2 months. We have substantial damage to furniture, broken lamps, broken audio equipment, dents in the dryer, broken washer, gouge in my grand piano.... We also have damage to our walls done by the movers as they were bringing furnishings into our house. A portion of our claims have been inspected - now we wait for Mayflower's response. We still haven't heard back from Mayflower regarding the damage to our walls. Also, they used their 3rd party service to crate/uncrate some items, including a grandfather clock, but when the clock was delivered, they said they weren't authorized to put it back together. When we asked for an explanation, we were told the contract only covered taking the clock apart - who does that? The only positive comment is that everyone has been very polite/nice. I'll post again when our claims get resolved.

Charlotte Van & Storage transported an automobile for me from Charlotte, NC to Seattle Washington. I delivered my car to them on May 19 and it was delivered in Seattle on May 28. Both CV&S and the driver called me 24 hours in advance to set up the delivery. I highly recommend CV&S.

Charlotte Van & Storage moved us from house #1, stored our belongings, and then moved us to house #2... all within the Charlotte city limits. They damaged some of our furniture and now won't repair it to pre-damage state and won't pay for fair market value of the belongings they broke (i.e china, crystal, glass items, and pottery items). After we purchased TOTAL VALUATION insurance with CV&S, they refused to reimburse us because they stated that our boxes weren't packed properly. After a half dozen moves in my lifetime, I certainly know how to pack a box. I've never had anything break during any other moves in my lifetime... until now. The boxes left my house in perfect condition and arrived at my new house looking like they were used in a game of knock hockey. I was sure I'd find everything broken from the looks of the boxes! I guess I was lucky. But, not to honor my insurance policy? Really? Why did they let me purchase the insurance in the first place if it was just going to be ignored? It's an atrocious way to do business. I know a LOT of people in Charlotte and have recommended many companies to friends before. CV&S certainly won't be on that list!

Moving is a stressful experience as it is, and moving my house full of stuff, wife, & two kids 600 miles away is a stress I wouldn't wish on anyone. I cannot say how great Charlotte Van & Storage was to work with. I was constantly being checked on to see if everything was going OK, I changed my dates for pick up time & delivery without a hassle, & to go above & beyond, Ms. Litton talked with a realtor & had him call me to help with finding a new place. With this realtor, I was able to locate a place to rent while we learn the area and look to purchase a home. The drivers that came to my home up in Michigan were also exceptional. They were very helpful & accommodating, & the whole unloading into my storage unit was a quick & enjoyable experience. Overall, I have nothing negative to say at all. If you need to move, work with Charlotte Van & Storage - end of story.

The 2 men that came and picked up out furniture were great. They actually made packing and moving a fun day( as much fun as that could be!). On the other end, 1620 miles away, the furniture arrived at exactly the time we were told it would be.Everything was delivered into the home in a timely and professional manner. Few things, I would like to honestly share with everyone, Need to have detail discussion with their sales guy, Initially they promised, but later they did ask for extra charges. Some of the stuff were damage but they helped for claim. I end up loosing my couch because they did not have enough space as per my contract for container and I took more than maximum size. When they are packing, they using lot of paper, so it will be more boxes and that uses more space. It's unbelievable, one box had few screws only. If I would have on their place, at least I have reduces 6 to 8 boxes. If they improve these things, they are good company. But I really love their office staff coordination, everything they promised, it happened. Special thanks to Rachael. She is very nice and gentle and always give follow up call. Giving try with this company not bad idea but make sure mentioned things.

The moving coordinators were prompt, detailed and communicated regularly with me to ensure everything was taken care of and that all my answers were addressed prior to my move date. On the day of my move, George and his crew did a fabulous job! They were friendly, careful to protect both my home and belongings, and extremely efficient. I did choose to self-pack most items in my home, however they were very helpful and flexible to assist me with packing some items that I was unable or unsure how to pack. The movers were on time,laid out floor protection and covered the front door [at the old house and the new one],wrapped everything up before moving, and once we were at our new home they placed everything where we needed it.We would highly recommend Charlotte Van & Storage to anyone
