I have used other moving companies in the past and each time, the experience was disappointing at best. Based on a recommendation, we called Oz Moving and I couldn't be happier with the decision. The quote process was easy and efficient. Angeleena was patient and thorough with me. When I expressed concern about the final price, she told me what I could pack myself to lower the price. Sebastian and his crew are the real stars of the show. They showed up early in the morning and worked hard all day to move all my stuff. From the beginning, Sebastian reassured me that he would take care of everything and then followed through in his promise. Thank you Sebastian and everyone else involved.

I filled in their online quote generator to get a quote. Within 5 minutes, I got an e-mail confirmation. Ok, that seems normal. Then a minute later, I got a phone call, and I got passed over to their sales team... and boy, are they pushy! He quoted me LITERALLY double what other comparable companies were offering ($1387), then said he would give me a "huge discount" which would land me at $895.70. That's still $100 more than everyone else. Also, neat fact: if you can drop $500 from your quote, then that's not a huge discount, that's the actual price of the quote. Don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining. And if I book RIGHT NOW, I get a free TV box and 3 wardrobe boxes (the movers I ended up with gave me that, but didn't dangle it like a carrot and I'm a donkey)! "So, if you'll just give me your credit card information, I can get you on the calendar right away." Slow your roll, dude. I was just trying to get a quote. This morning, I received a phone call, they left a voicemail. Then, they sent me a text message. Desperation is a stinky cologne, my friend. It's not like I magically forgot that I asked for a quote in the 12 hours since you last tried to Shanghai me into booking the move. No thank you. Maybe they're good movers. I will never know, because I steadfastly will not use them. Don't treat me like an idiot; don't try and herd me like cattle.

We used Oz for a same-day interstate move from NYC to DC. Oz's quote was very reasonable, much lower than most while still giving us confidence our belongings would be taken care of and arrive exactly when needed. Our project manager Robert was responsive and helpful. On the day of the move Jevon and his team were on time and very professional and communicative throughout. The move went very smoothly and our truck arrived on time with everything in perfect condition. Note that the quotes are lower in part because they do not provide full replacement cost insurance - they recommend you get third party protection (which is not offered by many brokers). We did not get additional coverage elsewhere, but had no damage or cause for concern. Thank you Oz!

I cannot say enough great things about this company. From helping provide mandatory insurance paperwork required by my building to the move itself, the staff could not have been more helpful. Joseph helped me manage my last-minute move a day before I had to be out of my old apartment. He was patient, worked quickly and was extremely professional. The price was extremely reasonable for a NYC move. The staff on-site the day of my move, Danny in particular, were incredible. Danny was friendly, polite, and a huge help. He went above and beyond, made sure all my items were treated with care, and even fixed furniture that I had previously damaged. Finding a place to live/moving in NYC is extremely stressful, but I can say without a doubt the easiest part of my experience was the move itself thanks to the Oz team. They provide a positive experience, have great employees, and high quality service. I will recommend them to everyone I know!

Our first move with Oz went perfectly. We went with Oz for our second move, despite our building trying to have use another service (at a discounted price). The movers were kind with professional demeanors but due to parking issues, only 3 of the 4 movers were available to help pack our goods, and because of the missing mover, the others seemed in a rush. This was obviously the case, since we showed up to our new apartment with several broken items including a broken microwave oven, scratched mirror, and a busted speaker (which we saw one of the movers drop without saying anything to us). Oz followed up with us to see how the move went. We let them know it was definitely not as good as the first time and explained the broken belongings. Instead of offering anything to make us feel better, they just sent us a claims form so that we could submit this to our insurance if we felt necessary. They accepted zero responsibility for the damage and instead were forcing us to claim against our own renters insurance (which would likely increase our premiums in the future and count towards our deductible). For all intensive purposes, this was just a move to quiet us rather than solve the problem. For a customer service oriented business that relies on word-of-mouth recommendations, I was surprised that they solicited feedback and then so clearly ignored it. We will not be using Oz next time - for paying several thousand dollars in moving costs, I want items to show up to my new apartment that are not broken and I want to work with a company that asks for my input only if they actually care to make things better or improve customer experience. UPDATE: Just wanted to update that after this review, I spoke with a representative of the company. I ended submitting a claims form and they sent me a check for a portion of the claims. I am pleased with the customer service following this event and would encourage others to follow up with the company with unpleasant experiences.

I was referred to Oz moving by my realtor. The last time that I moved I had a really awful experience so I went into this a bit concerned. There was no need for concern with Naji as the lead. They were very efficient quick I saw no one ever standing around doing nothing. Naji, Richard and Dimitri did a wonderful job and pretty much had me packed up in the time that was promised. If you're lucky enough to work to book with John, and the incredible team of Norman, Cory, Ivan and Sebastian - a team who work together so often that it is like watching a well tuned orchestra play a symphony - then you'll have an experience like no other. I've used a competitor several times in the past. This was my first move with Oz where I opted to have a packing service included. They put their competition to shame with how well they care for your belongings. From wrapping, to moving blanket packing, to paper and bubble wrapping fragile items, EVERYTHING arrived in one piece, was incredibly organized and efficiently loaded in-and-out. While I don't look forward to having to move again anytime soon, rest assured Oz will be my first call if I ever need to move again in the future.

We had a great experience with Oz Moving from start to finish. Our move was complicated, involving three locations, valuable antiques and artwork and potted plants from our garden. The manager, Matt, visited our place twice to make sure that the planning was correct and was always responsive to our questions. The crew of 3 showed up early within the slotted window, came into the apartment to see what needed to be moved, nodded and then went back to the truck to get the packing blankets and tape. The team of 5 that helped us moved couple days ago are the ultimate A team! They r soooo good and efficient we were so amazed. We moved out from a 6th floor walk up with 20yrs of possessions plus lots of heavy photography equipments to a smaller apartment. Made a stop at the storage as well and these guy were so professional, the team leader came up took a look at our stuff/boxes and strategically planned out what goes into the truck first and what goes last. & the speed of them wrapping & dismantling our large pieces of furniture was also amazing. They were so strong and fast and treated our furniture with care. Those stairs were no joke but they seem so used to it. And with great attitude too! We provided them with water and some energy bars. The whole move with two stops took less than 8hours. (9:30-5) and they were also very cooperative when we directed them where to place the furniture at the new place. I cannot praise them enough! Totally trust worthy and deserve a good tip! :)

BAIT AND SWITCH. I've been hiring companies to move equipment for 10+ years, and this is the worst company I have utilized. They promised sturdy double-corrugated boxing for my sensetive equipment, and delivered a flimsy, sloppily constructed solution instead. Instead of using a larger box which would be the correct size for the equipment,, they taped two smaller boxes together. I gave them an opportunity to fix the problem, and they stated that they could fix it, but they would have to charge me for any additional work. I had to delay my shipment and pay another company to come in and do the job the right way. Their customer service is non-existant. They use rediculous tactics to try to exhaust you, sending you in loops and giving you incorrect phone numbers before you can actually get to speak with the decision maker. Beware - what they promise is not what they deliver.

After several price quotes.. Oz was the best of them all. My relocation rep. was so quick to answer all my questions, and be there when I had concerns. He made my choice an easy one wen it came to choosing my moving company. In terms of my movers... I COULD NOT have asked for a better team. The price was fair, movers showed up timely, and were efficient/professional. My only complaint is the moving truck broke down after the truck was loaded with my belongings. It took a while to jump start the truck ; however, after a 90 minute delay... they got it to work. Normally, I would have said... "stuff" happens, but being that I knew the same truck broke down the day before.. i was annoyed.

OZ seriously damaged the following expensive items of ours during our move: (1) solid cherrywood sideboard (family heirloom), (2) custom hardwood bar, (3) large wooden office desk, and (4) large lamp. OZ also dinged and scratched countless other things, including dinning room chairs and our living room couch. They get 2 stars (instead of 1) because they sent someone to repair the bar and sideboard. However, their customer service has been entirely non-responsive in terms of dealing with all of the other items, namely the office desk with a gash across the top surface and the destroyed broken lamp. My wife called customer service 8 times, she left 4 voicemails, and then she followed up over email at least 3 times. She has gotten occasional responses, and people have told her “we are working on it”. But the fact of the matter is that we moved over 3 months ago and these matters are still unresolved...... So here we are, taking to Google reviews. I am hopeful that OZ will resolve our issues. This would make us reconsider our rating...

Oz just returned a truckload of our things after 6 months in storage during a renovation of our 6th floor loft. They aren't cheap, but didn't charge for storage. They were an incredibly efficient, fast and hardworking crew and at the same time, careful. No damage was done to the furniture or the walls. Now if only I could get them back to figure out where to put all this stuff.

Oz is probably the best moving company we have ever used. We used them for a cross-country move from New York to Chicago. Everyone we worked with at Oz was friendly, customer-oriented and thorough. Of three estimates we received, Oz's was in the middle in terms of cost, but their quoted cost did not change. The fact that they use cubit feet to determine cost instead of using an estimated weight (which can change after the company weighs your shipment) was reassuring to us. The pickup team in New York was the most careful group of movers we've ever seen. They wrapped our bookshelves and other pieces of furniture really, really well. The delivery company they're affiliated with in Chicago was good, as well. The only snafu was that Oz did not properly communicate their new policy of accepting credit card payments to their Chicago affiliate. So, while we paid for half of the overall cost by credit card in New York, we were told by the delivering company in Chicago that we needed to pay with a cashier's check. Oz did offer to send us a payment link to pay by credit card, however, we'd already gotten a cashier's check. I'd definitely recommend Oz to people looking to move local or long distance.

They took care of my stuff and were a stern polite. Unfortunately they said with complete confidence they could take apart a complicated piece of furniture which is the reason I ended up choosing them. In the end, they weren't able to and it just gave me some more added stress and concern. They damaged my hallway and of course they don't take responsibility, as the mover does. Overall good value, but just be cautious when they claim they can do something complicated.

When Oz said they'd pick up my boxes between 1:00 and 3:00, they weren't kidding! They came right at 1:00 and were out the door with them in no time, arriving at my storage facility about 90 minutes later. Just after pick-up, someone from the company called me to say the truck was on its way. The paperwork was handled quickly, but with a full explanation of the charges, which were exactly what was quoted in the estimate (except for tolls on the highways). Their phone operators are professionals, taking down your info accurately and stating the company policies so you know what to expect. This was my second move with Oz and I'd feel confident about using them again.

Using a moving company is pricey, so you want to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth. Oz was recommended to me and my boyfriend by 2 different people and were absolutely thrilled with them. We had Emilio as our foreman with 2 other men. Emilio is very skilled and ensured his team did things right without cutting any corners. The men worked very efficiently and extremely carefully. We were impressed by how they were meticulous with wrapping our furniture and navigating each piece, up 2 flights of stairs at some points, without even touching walls, yet they did so very quickly. They made the process look seamless, which it obviously isn’t. It was truly amazing. The men also went above and beyond in ensuring things were placed exactly where we wanted them and offering to take smaller items we planned to take ourselves, both of which made a big difference. It was very helpful and took all the stress out of the day. We had to make 2 stops from the point of origin, which worried me at first. I labeled each piece with its destination and the men labeled it again over the tape and blankets, which made things go very smoothly. At no point during the move did I feel overwhelmed, a direct result of the Emilio’s expertise and all 3 men’s hard work. They didn’t stop for a second and never made us feel like we were asking too much of them. We definitely, definitely got our money’s worth and then some. Should we move again, we know who to call. Gave me a quote of five hours, showed up (to a one bedroom apartment) had me sign all the paper work, and then immediately revised the quote to eight hours, and since I signed the paperwork I owed them $250 if I cancelled. Was also told they expected a 20% tip - altogether doubling the price I was originally provided. Oz Movers felt a lot like a scam. They got the job done, but I really felt they had ripped me off in the end. I would definitely not use them again.

We moved a 2-bedroom house from Milford, Pennsylvania to Manhattan and had an excellent experience with Oz movers. I contacted Oz because I used them a few years ago and found that, since then, they continued to improve the company. Their website is very well organized and allows you to ask for a quote and provide a detailed inventory quickly and easily. The web request was followed almost immediately by an in-person response from Erica. She was super-helpful, efficient and friendly. She gave us a straightforward quote on the spot, and followed up promptly afterwards for all the administrative details. On the day after the move I received a confirmation call. For the move itself, Mohammed and his team were flawless from start to finish. They showed up precisely on time at the pick-up location and were super-patient despite glitches with the GPS that initially sent them to the wrong place. When they finally arrived, they checked the premises and spelled out all the details clearly before starting. They worked quickly an efficiently and clearly knew how to handle different objects, from small to very large. They were courteous and helpful for everything we asked them to do. Mohammed went out of his way to accommodate our special requests for getting some large pieces into small spaces. They did not leave until we told them we were satisfied. They were super-neat and organized the entire time: clean blankets, neatly folded and tied up in bundles, took away all the debris. They did not leave a single scratch, chip, crack or stain. I have had 5 big moves in the past 10 years and this was by far my best experience. Highly recommended!

I moved a very large apartment from the west side to the Eastside of Manhattan. The price was very good. The person who gave me the estimate seems very nice. The day before the move the crew came and packed everything up. They were great. Moving day also went very well and I was very pleased. So pleased that I gave the crew an $800 tip. The day after the move, I realized that two of the four Herman Miller Aeron chairs that I own were missing. Each of these chairs cost $850. Also a lovely walnut and leather chair is gone. Maybe one of the moving crew needed some chairs? I don’t know how something so large could disappear. I contacted Oz moving. I’ll update this review based upon their response.

I want to say what an honest and great company this is. The customer service is excellent and the owner and his workers have a real sense of integrity. I would not hesitate to use this company for moves. Obviously sometimes there can be wear and tear when things are being moved, but in case anything happens, this is a company that will stand by their word.

Do not use this company! They are thieves and liars!! I moved twice with them and I thought they did a good job. I took me several months to unpack my thing. I'm missing my own drawings and other items that were packed and moved. I checked the storage before I moved into my new place and nothing was different. I was robbed on the first move and probably robbed on the second move. I cannot replace my personnel items and they will never compensate me. I regret giving them compliments and I know OZ will never compensate me for my lose or fire their workers. I'm especially pissed because I thought I found honest movers. Sickening!!!!!!!!!!!!

The crew was relatively fast but the packing is not always efficient. I've opened large boxes full of paper to find just a few items wrapped. I feel they could have put many more items per box and use less wrapping material that the customer is charged for. Also the head of the crew was quite aggressive when I tried to give suggestions.

Moving is never an easy task and when you’re moving solo, often times your mind is all over the place. These guys made the move the easiest part of the process. They work extremely well together and constantly had me laughing. If you’re blessed to have this crew...you won’t be disappointed. Our moving team with OZ was fantastic. Our move went very smoothly thanks to them. We hired OZ to load two 16-foot PODS in two mornings, as well as pack some tricky items. (They could've done it in one day but we wanted to see what size our second POD would need to be.) The PODS went across the country and our stuff arrived safe and sound. I'm happy with the move. I've used them twice and they're professional and the price at first it was expensive but for the second move the price was better. Also with them, you don't have to worry of broken stuff or damaged floor because they're really know what they're doing and use the proper equipment. I used another company that was cheaper and was disappointed of the result so sometimes it's worth paying a bit more. I paid 700 bucks for a one bedroom move but the second time I move and after I got my stuff back from their storage (about 200 bucks a month), they charged me about 350 bucks. and no need to tip unless you want to.

We loved everything about Oz Moving. From the first contact they were on top of everything. Patrick met us at our apartment to give us a real quote. He went over things we didn’t even realize were needed. Before the move we actually had to change the date and time due to our new building having several constraints. Patrick said it wouldn’t be a problem and even checked to see if the change of date would effect the quote, which it didn’t. The day of the move Naji and his crew of 4 showed up 20 minutes early. They carefully wrapped all of our furniture and took care of all of our fragile items. He explained exactly how they pack everything and talked with us about getting into the new building. I can’t praise Naji and his crew enough. They were very professional and FAST. I would highly recommend Oz to anyone. From the first phone call to the last box moved in everyone was very nice to us and professional. Hopefully we won’t need to move soon but when we do we’re calling Oz again.

This company is such a joke. They helped my fiance and I move yesterday. First off, the people who they have booking these moves and the people who answer questions when you call in to ask them something have remarkably low IQs. When arranging the move, the lady on the phone wanted me to tell her every single item that must go. I told her, "Miss, I'm literally moving my entire house. Do you really want a list of every item that I own?" She said yes, which surprised me, but it was abundantly clear why the next morning when I met the actual movers. The movers came equipped with a very strict manifest of all that is included and made it clear within two minutes of arriving that they are going to have to charge for any additional items at all. The flat rate price is based off of their mysterious way of calculating cubic feet. Really, they have no idea how many cubic feet your items are and they claim that their movers have the ability to calculate the additional cubic feet on the job if there were any items missed. This company sells itself on it's "Flat Rate Pricing." It is very clear why. I called them and asked them about this cubic feet nonsense and spoke to some lady who just had no clue what was going on. Company is terrible. Movers were extremely helpful gentlemen. #scam #customerservice

Don't. We moved a few months ago and just got around to unpacking a few of our boxes and we've found several of our more fragile things (that are not replaceable) are broken. These are things I received from my mom. There are also some things that are missing. I regret engaging them for our move. They were very unorganized and it was like pulling teeth to get the right information from them and for them to show up at the right time. Some of our boxes were ruined because of rain. They insisted on taping up storage crates that didn't need to be, so boxes got wet. Horrible

We used Oz to move from Williamsburg to Crown Heights and could not recommend them any more highly. The three movers actually showed up half an hour before their arrival window began. They were fast, efficient, and friendly. Our couch at our new apartment didn't fit through the front door so, after getting landlord approval, the team dropped the couch out of the back of the unit above ours in order to bring it in the back. The foreman for our job was Manuel. Oz's price is what got us in the door to begin with but we will return next time we are in need because of Manuel.

My son and his roommate used Oz moving for a move across Manhattan on 5/21. The 3 gentlemen that moved them were professional, friendly and remained extremely pleasant during the long, hot move even after hitting some elevator obstacles in the new building. Would highly recommend Oz moving!

This was the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had. The movers took ZERO care of my things. As a consequece I've had multiple broken electronics, Chippen or damaged mementos and so many other headaches. On top of it all, the movers gave me sone BS story about charging me extra money for boxes they used to move my stuff. I felt like I hired thugs of the street not a moving company. STAY AWAY! Terrible movers.

My move was excellent. Joseph and the staff at OZ worked with me while I was trying to finalize the details of my move with my landlord. The day of my move Kenny and the rest of the team arrived on time. They helped me finish the last of my packing and quickly move all identified items down four flights of steps and onto the truck. They were also quick to unpack the truck once we got to my new apartment. It was a great experience, Hopefully I do not have to move again, but if I do, OZ will be my first choice.

I have spoken with them over the last 8 months on the same phone number, same email.. same everything. I signed the release form they asked for. We had a really good experience moving from New York to DC with Lamont Tatum and his team. They moved incredibly quickly, took good care of our things, and delivered them the next day at the time they had promised. We're hoping not to move again any time soon, but if we did, I would call Oz. The other movers we contacted quoted a higher price and indicated that they might not deliver our belongings for a week or more.

The whole experience was perfect - the quote was detailed, the service before the move was impeccable, and the move itself was fast, efficient, and flawless. We had 3 movers who were quick and energetic, arrived on time, and didn't try to make the bill higher (we paid by time...). From Jennifer, who helped me over the phone get a quote and get ready for the move, the COI tram that got the certificates of insurance for both apartment buildings to Cesar and his team of movers - everything went very well. tl;dr - Oz will screw up documentation and claim zero responsibility for it. I didn't just get unlucky, they're repeat offenders. Don't trust these guys. ---- With plenty of notice and very clear instructions, Oz failed to correctly submit a certificate of insurance required by my destination building. I provided explicit revision instructions and redlines (it was so easy, I wish I could have just done it myself) and they couldn't get it right. This delayed my move significantly resulting in the loss of >$300 of rent spent on an apartment I couldn't live in and I had to take time off of work and push a business trip back (hundreds of dollars in change fees and lost time, not to mention disappointing). When I called to reschedule my move when the building denied Oz's COI, a very friendly and accommodating woman on the phone said that she would talk with the manager and Oz would make it right. The next day, the manager Nimrod called me back claiming zero responsibility for Oz's mistake. He wrote me another email saying "there is no one to blame" and again claiming no responsibility. He offered me 10% off as a courtesy and then the morning the movers showed up to my apartment, they charged me an extra $275, plus extra tip! I have all of this documented and all of it in writing. It's obvious who is at fault. When I was chatting with our old office admin at work about my apartment move situation to explain why I was missing work unexpectedly in the middle of the week, she said that Oz made the exact same COI mistake when my employer moved offices a little over a year ago (almost delaying the company move!). Look at my other reviews - none of them are scathing and most of them are five stars. I'm a Google "local guide." I'm hard to aggravate and these guys were the first to push me over the edge in a very very long time.

Scam artists. Were going to charge me actually 5x what another reputable moving company is charging and claimed the reason for the expense is unexplained “labor costs.” On top of that told me they would do me a favor and give me 20% off- I was getting a “great discounted price.” I never write reviews but this entire experience was so slimy and a rip off.
