Movers arrived at my home at the time that was given to me. Very punctual and impressive. After i showed the movers what was being taken they quickly and routinely formulated the game plan and put it to work. They had me wrapped up and ready for my next location in just over an hour. At my next location the movers had a task to carry all of my belongings up 3 flights of stairs but worked great together and accomplished that task at a smooth pace. I definitely will recommend Big G Movers to anyone looking to move. Very professional moving crew.

Initially I called Big G and got in contact with Gary. After a quick phone call and a few texts I had an appointment set up for the move. Booking and payment over the phone was very easy. Gary provided reminder texts as well a couple days before which was a nice professional touch. Day of the move Gary and his crew showed up and were extremely friendly and professional. They wrapped and sealed my TV's, dressers, sofas, mattress, and electronics prior to the move as well which kept my belongings safe. The unload was even faster and they unloaded the items into the rooms I designated. They even re-assembled my metal bed-frame and happened to place most of my furniture in spots that suited the rooms. When everything was settled they provided a walk through and asked if I wanted anything else moved before they packed up and left so that everything was where I wanted it. Overall these guys were great and extremely professional. NOTE: I packaged all of my own belongings but the company does provide packing as well at an additional cost.

I was worried about hiring movers because the majority of companies out there have terrible reviews. However, they did a great job! Rob, Joe, and Charlie(?? I don't remember their names) moved us out on a rainy day and they covered the floor and shrink wrapped everything very well so that nothing would get soaked. They drove slowly over all the speed bumps that my old complex had and nothing arrived damaged. We were able to borrow wardrobe boxes instead of spending more money on them. I'd definitely consider hiring them again for future moves.

After hours of reading moving company reviews and having quotes determined in person and online, I changed my sights from another company to Big G. I liked the idea of a family run business knowing that care would be more of a factor given they would care about their staff and their reputation. I made the right choice! Joe, Tank and crew were meticulous with my items, encountered and tackled a stubborn adjustable bed and treadmill, and fanagled a narrow hallway with extreme patience. They were professional and truthful in their business practices. They made the stress of the move manageable and the company was a pleasure to deal with...especially in a sea of moving companies with too good to be true quotes, only to stick you up and hold your belongings hostage during the move. I want to say Thank You to the team at Big G Movers. I recently moved out of NJ and moved to NC. I started working with Gary back in September 2017 when I put my home up for sale. He was highly recommended to me. I cant say enough good things about Big G Movers. I made this move a little bit more difficult then most people. I had them move me out of my home two separate days and into storage for a week and then had them move me out of storage to my new home in NC. I have heard so many horror stories from so many people about moving companies such as things getting broken or getting presented with an unexpected invoice after the move. Even though Big G came so highly recommended I still had questioned in the back of my mind whether we would just be another victim of a moving company horror story. After our things getting moved, packed and unpacked several times over the course of 1 week, everything came out flawless. My wife and I were in total shock. I was happy with the way everything was wrapped. Everything we owned was pretty much wrapped in shrink wrap, cardboard and blankets. Bedding furniture (mattress and box spring) were packed in bedding bags. As for any unexpected charges, this company has none. The estimate that I was given in September 2017 is what I paid in April 2018. The only additional expenses I incurred which were discussed and agreed upon prior to us moving out of our home was our two days we spent moving into storage. The additional cost was very minimal. The employees of this company are second to none. They are just a great bunch of guys. Gary is the owner of the company. When is the last time you saw the owner of any company show up to your home for any work or service and work his butt off just as hard as his employees? Gary has a top notch team that he has put together. Gary, Roy, Bruno, and the rest of his team (including his son) who were on site at my home in NJ for two days and then here at my home in NC, were great. I want to reiterate that they are just a bunch of great guys. You are in great hands with this team! One other note that I want to add is should you have any non perishable food items that you need to get rid of, dont! Gary and his wife Traci will come to your home and pick them up from you and deliver them to the food pantry that they work with. If you also have any spare card board boxes left over, you dont need to worry about them needing to go in the garbage or recycle. Gary will take them from you and find a home for them. I recently moved and shopped around for prices. I got a flat rate for moving. On the day of moving, a big truck came on time and driver + 2 helpers moved all the stuff. They were nice and careful. After the moving was done, I was given a different bill which stated by the hour, and over time by half hour. I was not made clear of over time. I was very clear with Big G in terms of how many boxes, bed, and stuff I had, and where I was going. Movers were surprised that I had didn’t have much stuff compared to many. Then to resolve this issue, I called Big G, and he just doesn’t pick up the phone, he text me back. I again called, and same thing. He called his employee and discusses what he has to. Then he stated that I was given a total brake down of everything including over time if any. Next thing you know, his tone has changed, and he is speaking over me. I hate to deal this way with anyone. Then he is telling me that I forgot, I have no memory loss issue. I have no problem paying, but trying to fetch another $90 at the end had left me with little cash in my hand. The workers did an excellent job, and I wanted to tip them well, I was able to tip them far less than I thought I would because I was given a flat price. Not honest, not upfront. If you want to use their service, get a contract via email or fax, and then see. Their workers told me that Big G gets in to billing issues with customer all the time. I wouldn’t deal with him again, there are better and honest movers out there...

We have used Big G twice, once to move from Fords to Matawan, and just recently I had them load up a truck for us for our move to Maryland. In both situations, every single item was meticulously wrapped with blankets, tape and shrink wrap to ensure that not a single item (or wall!) was damaged during the removal or the move. Even the people who helped us unload the truck commented on how great a job was done with the wrapping and how it was loaded onto the truck. We were both a bit frazzled from the stress of packing and one of the first things the guy said to us when they showed up (I'm sure I looked like a jittery mess at that point) was "It's ok, you can relax, we got this." and he was absolutely right. They walked through the place, figured out a plan of attack on how to load up the truck, and with the exception of a few questions on how we wanted things, it was completely hands off for us. Moving is a stressful thing, but good movers will make it 10x easier. If we're ever returning to NJ, Big G will be the first guys I call.

My last move was over 35 years ago, to say the least I was nervous and stressed over all that was thrown at me over the course of 2018 and 2019. From the first phone call I knew this was going to be the movers I wanted. This company is as far as I’m concern way above the rest. Even though it is a business they treat you like family. I WOULD NOT HESITATE to use them for your move, it’s a important day and the crew I had out surpassed my expectations. With the way my year started back in March 2018 , I will have to use them again because I had to put the whole house into storage for a short time and then move again.BUT I know I am in safe hands. Worth every penny!! That's exactly what my boyfriend and I said after this move. We were a little hesitant as neither one of us have used movers in the past and were worrisome for hidden fees as we were on a tight budget. But, Traci was incredibly thorough and detailed over the phone and in email with the costs and what the move entailed. Gary sent a confirmation text the night before and even kept us informed the morning of when they ran into some rush hour traffic en route to the apt. The team was so polite and friendly! (Even though they had to walk 200 yards from our apt to the street to load the truck.) They really know what they're doing when it comes to moving odd shaped furniture through tight corners and I greatly appreciated how careful they handled all our belongings. My cousin hired these guys for us, the deal was they'll come to our house and pack as much as they could in 3 hours, for $735. Three men showed up at 1015 am, Steve was in charge, they did a decent job at packing so not much to complain there. However they were short on boxes, and once I brought the issue to Steve that it was told to us by him that boxes and supplies etc they would bring and all we would need to do is simply stay clear, he gave a very rude and obnoxious response that "they brought 50 boxes and that it's not an exact science and that all my cousin said was to come and pack us and didn't give too much information, and that my cousin is footing the bill". First off, if it takes 50 boxes or a 100, that's your job as a professional, not ours, all anyone can say is hey come and pack us, it's your job as a professional to probe and ask questions accordingly, we don't know how many boxes or tape is needed, it's not an exact science, c'mon, who says that. And lastly, if my cousin is paying or not, is irrelevant, at the end of the day you took a job, do your job, and mind you I'm the one paying you at the end anyway so for all intents and purposes, I'm the one you're working for, and its my house that you're in, whatever business I have with my family member is my business. All that was needed out of him was a simple, hey we're sorry we miscalculated and we're sorry, his response was not of a professional. I communicated all this to him in the end. Be courteous and polite to people, you're in their home, and anyone who's every moved knows its a stressful time as it is, there's no need for snarky rude and obnoxious comments. One guy took a break, and we were told he went to get boxes from outside, which he didn't, because he didn't return with any. Their staff member Eddie was super polite, personable and the only person who took ownership and apologized on their behalf, he should be their manager or should open up his own company, he would do well. They ended up using some of our boxes, which isn't a big deal, but Mr. Steve had made a comment on how these boxes cost me a dollar, its the concept and ethics that's the issue not the actual dollar amount. And not for nothing if its so insignificant how come there was no discount offered. When we order services for help for 3 hours with all the necessary supplies, it means just that, $735 is just that, it's not $725 or $710. A deal is a deal. Anyway after I told Steve all this, he did apologize, but still condescending, and offered their services for moving, a nice gesture, but if you think anyone is going to use your services any further after you mistreat them or are rude, you're mistaken. In the end, I'm ok with the packing job they did, even though the speed towards the end was very slow, and they checked out at 1 pm sharp, after starting at 1015 am, time is money and money is what was paid. I will not use them nor will I recommend them, they have good reviews which is why we went with them, but our experience wasn't that good mainly because the attitude of their supervisor.

Why don’t they offer 10 stars? If they did, Big G certainly would deserve them for the work they did on my move. I contacted them on the recommendation of my cousin who was a former neighbor of the owner, Gary. Gary was great to work with as far as arranging the manpower and equipment for the move day and explaining what his pricing included (which I thought was commensurate for the work performed in moving stuff from my 3-story home to a blessedly one-floor ranch). Joe and Tank and the rest of the crew were so polite and constantly asked me if there was anything I needed or had a concern about to let them know. They thoroughly wrapped a china cabinet with mirrors and glass shelves as well as my tv and other more fragile items - everything arrived in perfect shape. The guys asked me where everything should be placed and rolled out my rugs and made sure they were where I wanted them. The move-out took less than 1-1/2 hours and the move in around the same amount of time. I hope this is my last move. but I would not hesitate to recommend Big G to anyone who is contemplating a big (or smaller) move. Bravo guys!
