Bottom Line Up Front - Save yourself time and headache……Just schedule your move with McGuire. This is the second time that I have used McGuire to move my office and they just don’t disappoint. If you are looking for a company to trust with movers who care, PLEASE use McGuire. In the past have tried two other moving companies in the past who have made me wonder am I just a problem customer when it comes to moving?? After talking with senior management, both experiences with the “Other Movers” ended with bad feelings and unresolved situations. After two different experiences, over a three-year period with McGuire, I can say with confident that McGuire knows how a move should go and how to take care of a customer. After or during a move I have never “needed” to talk with Josh but both times he has followed up with me to make sure everything went well and request feedback to improve their service.

We moved from St. Louis to Illinois and had all of our furniture put into storage for 3-4 months before it was pulled out of storage into our new house. All of the furniture was wrapped well and handled well. The movers were professional and courteous. When all of the furniture was moved in and set up it was in tact including our grand piano. We requested and received the same crew the 2nd time who remembered almost all of our preferences and were happy to accommodate us. Also, the ladies on the phone at the central office always were on hand to answer any questions- we never had to talk to a machine. We initially went with Mcquires bc it was a local business with good reviews from neighbors despite the estimate being a tad bit higher, however after everything was said and compete the final cost was actually below estimate. We will use them again.

We were very pleased with McGuire Moving services for our out of state move. Their crews and driver were energetic, polite, hard working, and good communicators. The pre-move estimators were accurate as far weights and measures. While we did the packing, they helped supply boxes and packing supplies as well as helpful instructions on how to pack our dishware and fragile items properly for safe transport. We were impressed with the driver's commitment and attention to detail with the loading and unloading of our possessions. And while everything in a move is never perfect, McGuire overcame some minor challenges with ease and delivered on their promises. We found their rates, charges, and fees extremely competitive. And we enjoyed doing business with a local Stl company and working with the owner of the company for our relocation and moving needs.

I would not trust these people with your belongings, delivered here once and the people were extremely rude and unprofessional, they cant even say hello, there are much better moving companies in the area to choose from. Trust me stay away from them.

Update Oct, 2016: McGuire company contact me and reimburse for the items that were lost and broken, also a furniture company fix the part of the bed frame that was broken, overall I'm satisfied that the issues were resolved. I do gotta say on the 1st day of the packing process everything was packed well with wrapping paper and in boxes, our fishing rods arrived safely thanks to a pipe that was send specially for them. I'm very upset at this company the follow up after delivery is minimal if not done, they broke my bedroom furniture and said they were going to send someone two weeks ago to fix it, when the top part of the bedroom frame arrived when it broke it looked like someone tried to glue it before to cover it up and it didn't work, we noticed It, I feel very upset that they would dare to do that without even telling us what happened, oh yeah the person who they referred to fix it never showed up, when I received my boxes some of them look like they have been thrown around inside the moving truck they broke a picture frame that was dear to me also never found a box that they were suppoust to deliver and broke my kitchen table, I would not recommend this company for your future moving, if they ever do something about it I will give an update. But for now I'm an unsatisfy customer.

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! Today one of these drivers didn't bother to lock their truck door and left it SWINGING OPEN into the other lane of traffic, ongoing, thru a turn and multiple drivers (who were about to be impacted by both the door and the items about to fall out of the back) waved them down. The assistant had to stop in the middle of the road to fix it! After calling the company, the receptionist put me on hold to have me talk to a dispatcher... I had to call back three times and direct this young person how to do their job and give customer service. Finally got a call back from a second person who was much more professional. Then a call back from the owner who defended his staff. If a company can hire people so unprofessional and careless about EVERYONE's lives and vehicles around them on the roads (about to send moving dolly's thru my windshield with my children in the car), I will never trust them with my possessions. Use at your own risk.

These guys moved me out of my 3rd floor apartment without the help of an elevator. They moved me into a 2nd floor apartment also with no elevator. I'm not sure how they did it, but they were fast and did it without complaining. I would definitely hire them again, it's totally worth it.

I’ll start with the good – my stuff got moved and it was a decent amount of steps and a HUGE driveway. The bad – they damaged my dresser. Yes, they fixed it…but I was without a dresser for 11 days with no compensation to me with minimal apology and sub-par communication: • The moving crew leader didn’t seem apologetic about it; in fact he argued with me about where the dresser was originally located in the old house (as if I didn’t know where my dresser was) • I had to ask him what happens now/what the process is, question by question…. he didn’t even ask me how much the value of the dresser was, I had to look for it on the form to fill it out • No one called me to tell me the dresser had arrived at the repair shop; I had to call to find out, as I had to ALSO call to find out when it was going to be done. Now, if I hired a couple neighborhood kids, then sure, you get what you pay for. But I hired a well-recommended professional moving company and spent over $1200 on this move…I shouldn’t have to worry about my furniture being damaged. Period.

Terrible experience with this company. The movers took much longer than expected (initial estimate was three hours, which turned into nine), they put heavy items on top of our television box (including a heavy toolbox), which led to it being crushed on one side, many other boxes were damaged because they were packed in incredibly high stacks with improper support, and many bins were broken because they were improperly packed. I have packed many trucks with the same boxes and bins and somehow they were never damaged like this. They also left all the irregularly shaped items until the end, and then said, "I don't know what we're going to do with all this stuff." It was a huge mess, and cost us $1000. I thought we would save ourselves some trouble by hiring movers, but next time I'll save myself the trouble and money by doing it myself. I called the company and the manager didn't believe some of my claims and disregarded others, and took no responsibility because I signed a waiver. He has that right, but I wanted to share my experience so that you can make an educated decision about hiring this company.

I was so impressed with these guys that I've taken the time to write three reviews, and that is saying something. I can't imagine how a complicated move could go better. These people are terrific! Incredibly good customer service. Their crews are very pleasant and professional, and all of those who moved us had been with the company for years, which says a lot. They were very careful, and what little damage that was done (which is minor and probably unavoidable) was taken care of with very little fuss. If you are moving in or from St. Louis, save yourself some time and just call McGuire. To top it all off, the final bill was less than the estimate. Amazing. They do business the way it should be done.

Just saw this company deliver to my apartment complex. They parked in the middle of the parking lot (even when they moved, they still situated themselves in the middle) and placed the homeowner’s boxes and furniture on wet grass and mud. I wouldn’t want them moving my belongings.

My move was great. The packers arrived 2 days before the move. Everything was boxed and wrapped well. On moving day, the movers were ahead of schedule and were great. They were fast and careful at the same time. Everyone on the packers and movers was polite and respectful. The total cost came in below the estimate. I'll use them again.
