Our move requires transfer to smaller truck to negotiate narrow lanes and nothing was missing nor broken. I feel like my experience could have been on one of those tv shows that broadcasts "moving disasters". Not only did the movers not get my house emptied before the deadline (I had to finish the job myself overnight - got no sleep before signing my seller's contract), but they left a mess in the house I was leaving, lost items (including parts of furniture!), and damaged several pieces of my remaining furniture. Moreover, getting someone to come evaluate the damage and reimburse me for my losses required that I speak with someone at the head of the company; this was after multiple failed attempts at getting in touch with the "supervisor" of my move. Ultimately, I got a minimal amount for all of the damages, far less than the cost of fixing and replacing the items in question. My advice to those who are planning a move is to get the job done with another company.

If it were possible to score less than one star I certainly would. I had an appointment with a elderly gentleman who came to do a walk through to give me a moving quote, he was rude and very unprofessional. I later spoke with a man Wayne who claimed to be the VP of something within the company, but he was supportive and apologetic for the first encounter with Cord Moving and Storage. He stated that he figured that this was a lost opportunity, and I told him that was correct. He told me I could call him later if I had any further questions. I called him today, and left a message for him to call me back. When he called me back he stated RUDELY, "I thought you didn't want anything to do with us". I stated at that point nevermind and no I do not. The only person who I have had contact with at Cord who provided good customer service was the woman who answers the phone. So much for giving a company a second chance.

living in the midwest the winters can be brutal, i needed a place to store all my outdoor furniture. Cord came out in September, carefully wrapped all of my furniture up, and took it away for the winter. For a very reasonable monthly fee (cheeper than renting a storeage unit and hauling it all myself). i was able to keep my poolside and patio furniture in good shape. Cord is scheduled to deliver my furniture in April of 2015, in time to enjoy the spring and summer weather in St Louis. The staff is professional and knowledgable. i would recommend this company for all your moving and storage needs.

My first experience with a moving company and it was great! Gail in the St. Louis office was so helpful, friendly and even stayed late to make sure my move was confirmed and ready to go. She works really close with ALSAC and deserves a huge round of applause (and more!) for her hard work. Apollo and movers too, were excellent and had great work ethic and sense of humor. They drove from Memphis to Knoxville (which is a 6.5 hour drive), dropped off my stuff in Nashville and back to Memphis without a complaint. Beware of Cord Moving. Cord Moving company employees damaged 3 pieces of furniture, two of which are valued antiques, and our property during our move this summer. Photos of the damage were sent to Cord immediately and a claim was filed with Cord Moving company for each article damaged. Over 5 weeks later, despite 13 emails and multiple phone calls very little has been done. The only effort Cord Moving Company has made to resolve these concerns is to send a repairman to look at the damage to furniture. That was over 2 weeks ago. No effort has been made to repair the furniture or the damage to our home or compensate us for loss of value. The company's lack of response and attention to this matter has been disappointing, frustrating and unprofessional. I have been notified today by Cord that only one person is assigned to our case and there will be no further action on their part until she returns from vacation. This is appalling. Take your business elsewhere.

The estimator gave me the impression that delivery would occur at the front of the 7-day delivery window. On pickup day, the driver told me that delivery would likely be the second-to-last day of the delivery window, a Monday. He never called me to tell me it would be Tuesday, so I wasted a day off of work for nothing. When I called the office on Friday to get an update, they didn't know anything. The online tracking system never showed a location or delivery date for my shipment. I was charged for matress cartons, but they weren't provided to the driver so he had to use plastic bags which ripped. I was not refunded for the cartons. And I was not refunded for my load weight being less than the estimated (and pre-paid) weight. The loaders in St. Louis were good. The unloaders in Memphis were just OK.

It was impressive how they managed to move heavy furniture and objects with what appeared to be ease. They were punctual, and had us packed up and moved to our new location as promised. I hired them to move tenants belongings out of the basement and into a PODs storage container in the driveway, and an old washer & dryer into the driveway (not hooked up). I was not there during the work. Afterwards they called to tell me they were finished. I asked about the washer & dryer and was told they did not move the old washer out because it had water in it. This is a washer that has sat unused and not hooked up for a year. I checked on the property that evening, and the washer did NOT have water in it. I tilted it in all directions and not a drop of water is in it. My boyfriend and I then had to move it ourselves after having paid over $300 for them too, again no water came out of it as we moved it. They also left 5 boxes, a headboard, table, small desk, and a small TV down there too. Have no idea whey all this stuff was left when I hired them to move it all out of the basement. No mention was made to having left these items in the basement when the representative called to tell me they had finished (and had already left). I then had to move the rest of it myself. I had to a pay for a minimum of 3 hours, and they were there for less than 2 hours and didn't complete the job. Highly disappointed.

I was relocated by my company and I had been in my home for over 20 years. Cord Moving Company showed up and reviewed my home goods and was not fazed by anything I showed them. They just smiled and said no problem. Next, I was scheduled to pack my home goods on the first day and all the employees were a joy to work with. If I asked them to apply extra packing to something they did. It was not as if they were packing it wrong, but it just made me feel better. After that, the next day I was scheduled to load. They showed extra care when they maneuvered my goods through my home. They ensured that all my goods were packed in the truck, so no movement was possible to cause damage. Finally, delivery day. The movers showed up early and ready to go. I gave them a tour of the new home and what was nice is that one of the movers helped load my home goods, so he knew just about where everything needed to go. If I were to give Cord Moving one piece of advice is that they should keep one of their employees involved from packing to unloading. It maintains customer comfort! I had a very positive experience and non-stressful experience!

I really don't write bad reviews but i found that this service was fair at best. They have moved me from USA to Canada and when things were in Canada, they simply rushed through unpacking like they had somewhere else to be in a few min. Some of my furniture was left in garage as they claimed they were unable to put through the door frame, only later for me to pay other people to do that for me. I have paid 15 thousands for this service, and the people were so rude, and one of them even hit my furniture because he got frustrated. Unbelievable. - i have moved about 7 times before and never experience something like this.

UNETHICAL AND ILLEGAL!! Cord would not stand behind the statement made in writing by their own employee who informed us via email on the day of our goods delivery, that we have nine months from the date of delivery to file a claim for damage. Cord sent a letter after we filed the claim within that timeframe that "any and all damage must be noted at time of delivery". It is impractical and impossible given the number of hours in a day and that this was a full 2-story home move to open everything and identify all damages on the day of move. The position Cord took in this matter is unethical and illegal. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) states that "You have 9 months from the date of delivery (or in the event of loss for the entireshipment, from the date your shipment should have been delivered) to file your claim." Cord refused.

Delivery delayed twice. When delivery did happen (due at 11am) it actually came at 6pm and took until midnight to unload. Several broken pieces of furniture (at least 5) and several broken packed glass items. At delivery, helpers could not handle our large pieces of furniture. No problem at origin. Did not complete furniture assembly due to late hour. We did moving and storage. Team at origination seemed competent. Furniture damages appear to be from packing of the truck for delivery. Driver was courteous however ambivalent to the damages.

DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!!!! My major concern with my apt moving is my piano. I called this company because they claimed that they can get everything done in 3 hours. But they looked at the new apt doorway and just said 'Nah we not gonna move the piano upstairs'. This is OUTRAGEOUS. THEY DIDN"T EVEN TRY. If it's not for the piano I would have move my other stuff with my friends instead of finding this hell company who still charged me 600 bucks! I strongly do not recommend this company even if their movers are fine but their manager is very not professional and intimidating.

Great experience. The team worked very hard to move us out of a house and into another in two days. There was no damage to any of our furniture, and they took extra care of the fragile stuff like china and glass ware. We weren't the best prepared in terms of packing the small items since we had only two weeks from sale to close to get the house ready to move, but all things considered, the Cord team did their best to get it done in time. Since I wasn’t home, the items were left on the porch which was perfectly fine. We have used Cord before and was happy so when we needed to move again we called them. From start to finish the worse move of our lives, from the damage to the homes and I mean both and the damage to the furniture I was not happy as the workers were taking their sweet time either on the phone or standing around talking to each other. Crew chief had no personality and didn't once say anything to his men about getting busy and getting done. We had every item that could be taken apart taken apart and it still took 6 men 12 hrs and we only moved 7 miles away. I would not recommend this company and wouldn't use them again. Very unhappy to say the least !!!!!!!!!!!!

We used them twice within a few weeks. Workers were great. Friendly and professional. We moved from a town house to a newly built house and it was all fine. They made great effort to minimize any outside dirt being tracked into the new house by putting down a cardboard path. I was very pleased with their work.
