Great family run business and awesome employee's
As the Government Contracting Manager for our company, I deal with shipping and freight forwarders a good deal. Rarely is one really bad, most are as expected, but my experiences with Estes have always been above and beyond. The staff (at least at the Fenton MO terminal) have always been helpful, especially when the Government info is sketchy and incomplete. Brenda and Melanie have been outstanding.
California distribution did not ship when they were supposed to, it got to fenton,mo. distribution center it also did not ship out on time. very poor service.

Fast service
Excellent customer service representative, but the terminal left my LTL shipment in a closed trailer for at least 2 days and the impression I am getting is that they either forgot about the goods in the trailer or missed them and didn't know about them until I called to find out where the shipment was (it was supposed to be delivered today and is still 1200 miles away from my warehouse at this terminal in St. Louis) The customer service reps were great, but the dispatchers completely dropped the ball on my LTL shipment.

Unchoreographed circus act. Zero professionalism or safety training, give Estes the right away even if they're on the other side of the yard. Walk FAST!!! Careful what you rub against they spread fifth wheel grease on everything.
HORRIBLE SERVICE WAS EXPECTING SEASONAL MERCHANDISE AND WAS SHOWING 12/04/2018 KEEP CALLING THEM FROM NYC TO DALLAS AND THEY SAY CALL PA AND THEN ST LOUIS NO ONE KNOWS WHERE ARE THESE GOODS.THEN FINALLY TELL ME TO FILE LOST CLAIM SINCE THEY CANNOT FIND IT.THESE WERE GOODS FROM OVERSEAS AND NOW CANNOT CATCH THE SEASON EVEN IF I REORDER AGAIN.VERY TERRIBLE CS AND STAFF. I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

My item is sitting at the location 30 minutes from my home and has been for more than a week. Estes told the Home Depot representative that they are waiting for a full truck to deliver. Our project is being delayed by this company.
I have had good experience with Estes. They have really done a good job of helping us with our freight. Their team has been very timely in their responses and they have done a really good job helping us ship large freight across the country. Michelle Adkins and Christopher Miller have been great to work with. The rates could always be better but that is the same with any carrier. Their customer service has been what continues to bring us back to using them.
If you are needing to ship a large order please think twice before using this company. Unfortunately I have had first hand experience with this company. Why hire a company to transport and deliver your items when they ask you to help them unload it? not once but twice.. The first time it was due to an inexperienced driver that said he had no way to unload the shipment not even a dollie so after complaining about the experience I was promised a driver who could get the job done and guess what? he said it was to heavy and he needed help to unload pipes. So very unprofessional.If you are going to be a delivery company you need the right materials to get the job done, and if its something the driver needs help with send another helper with him. Do not ask a disabled older person to do the work for you. That is why you get paid.. and quite a lot I must say..

Racist company. Interviewed on the phone.liked my resume.set up an interview. The Terminal manager Came out the back with a smile and called my name.ONCE HE SAW I WAS BLACK THAT SMILE TURNED IMMEDIATELY TO A FROWN AND HE SAID “oh” as if he made a mistake and was hesitant to shake my hand. FROM THE TIME I SAT DOWN I IMMEDIATELY ALL OF A SUDDEN WAS NOT QUALIFIED FOR THE POSITION DUE TO EXPERIENCE..........You saw my detailed resume and now I’m not QUALIFIED?.THEN WHY SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW?.does this make any sense to anybody else?
Absolutely Shameless company, Can usually manage themselves decently but after this last shipment I have placed, I can't even get them to pick it up within a week. Excuses after excuses with them. Might as well stick with R&L at this point.
Spoke to Madeline when I called to check on our shipment coming into St Louis. She explained when it is expected to be in and made sure it was set to go with other location.

Placed a large order and the person who called to set up the appointment to drop off my order was very knowledgeable and friendly she asked how my day was and if there was anything else she could do for me while on the phone with me. I will definitely use Estes again for my shipping needs.

Today an Estes truck didn't think we were going fast enough (65 in a 60 mph zone) on I44 North in Oklahoma City, so he rode our bumper. He was so close that we could not see his front license tag. We were in a black Hyundai Elantra with our two grandsons in the back seat. When he realized we were trying to take a picture of how close he was he then went around us. I took pictures of him and your truck. My husband called your company with the tag# and trailer# but the person with whom he spoke with didn't seem too interested in your drivers actions. This gave us insight into your company and the quality of your drivers and how you feel about customer service. This would be the very last company I would use for anything!!!
#1 WORST customer service I have experienced in years. 550# tool shipped from a company to our address. The shipper reached out to provide tracking as the shipment was late. Shipment arrive Monday 3/4. NEVER heard from Estes. We had to reach out to see why delivery was never scheduled. We were told SEVERAL conflicting stories as to why they dropped the ball. In the end, after being held responsible for the issue, their poor service their #1 goal is to ignore their internal issues, schedule a delivery, get you off phone and move on. That does NOT fix the problem. I would not trust Estes for ANY delivery much less anything of any value or importance. Look to another carrier!! This is our last dealing with this company. Rob Estes, President and CEO..ARE YOU LISTENING??? You president's letter says "We also want to know what you think"...yet you have a circle of incompetent people that intercept and cover up your poor service.
Warning: I experienced an unreasonably long window for delivery with no flexibility and then late arrival, and condescending customer service from multiple representatives. I will not use another vendor that contracts with Estes to do their local freight delivery. If I could give them less, I would.
Office people and leaders are rude
SOME OF THE WORST DRIVERS EVER! I just had 1 of there crappy drivers jump out into the hammer lane going west bound on the Oklahoma turn pike in front of us. LESS THAN 4' IN FRONT OF US! We were doing the speed limit & HE WAS NOT!!!!! I wish I remembered his truck number so I could post it here. But I was sooooo shook up worring about us slowing down, I just don't remember. it doesn't matter, I HAVE IT ON OUR DASH CAM & I'M SENDING IT TO HIS COMPANY!!!!!
Dumped 56 boxes on a pallet on the sidewalk and refused to bring them inside. He complained for 20 to 30 minutes about how the boxes fell off the pallet, how the pallet wouldn't fit through the door, etc. He seriously just stood there complaining, smoked a cigarette, and then just left the pallet there. Absolutely awful service and a terrible, rude attitude! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY
Our order was shipped on 5/15/2018. Was supposed to arrive by 5/25/2015, but then it was going to arrive 5/29/2018. It was a lot of flooring so I was understanding. Then it was on it's way to us on that date, but they got 1/2 a mile from our house and couldn't make it due to trees on the side of the road. They didn't want to scratch their rented truck. Despite UPS trucks, Garbage trucks, semi's and even mobile homes using that road without issue. So we were again delayed until 6/1/2018, now that day is here and now it won't be until Monday. For a company that specializes in shipping, they have disappointed us at every turn. We didn't even choose them, Home Depot did. I can only hope Home Depot sees the service we have received. We will definitely let them know.

If I could use negative stars i would. Worst customer service out of any LTL company I've ever worked with. Use FedEx or XPO they have great customer service and ship things when they say they will!!
Extremely disappointing, first the driver could not make it on the schedule day and then they are limited on their lift gate. So many excuses every time I am not sure what is going on with the shipment

I was on highway 270 by Richardson road exit. Arnold ,Mo. One of your drivers was weaving all over ,in and out of lanes. This went on until we got to the exit he got off of that leads towards the telegraph road exit and 255 Illinois exits. This at 8pm tonight. September 27th. I dont know if he was sleeping, on drugs. He is very dangerous. I hope he pulled over or got to his destination. I dont want him to cause an accident or worse. .

I have not dealt with the OKC terminal a lot, until the last several months. After being in the transportation industry for almost 35 years, I have been extremely impressed with the attention to meet our needs. I can email the terminal manager/operations and ALWAYS receive an answer, solution or willingness to work out any delivery issues that may arise. I wish more terminals were as willing to be as customer oriented as OKC. Great team!

If i could give 0 stars I would. Worst service! She told me this is your only option, take it or leave it. They did not leave me a voicemail and could not do anything to help except come a week late. Beware if you are looking for assistance from their guest service, you wont get it!
I wish I could give zero stars. Very unprofessional and horrible customer service. A shipping company they refused to accomadate the needs of their customers. Tried to have something delivered twice and refused to and refused to reschedule because they couldn't manage the road. While I do understand the safety aspect, we told them several times it was a gravel road. Very incompetent company and the associates were extremely rude.

I have been working in Logistics for 12 years and thru every situation you can imagine. During this time Estes has been right there to help me with any need that I have asked. The entire Asheville Terminal that I deal directly with is amazing in every since of the word. They absolutely go above and beyond.

Good Guard and service turn-around
Never again will I get anything shipped to me by this co. Was promised a date to be delivered, 2 days later still nothing so finally decided to call and was told it would be another 24-48 hours. All in all took 2 weeks to get a shipment from Cali to Missouri

Security guard is as unprofessional as it gets. Yelling and cussing out people. Estes mission statement says unsurpassed quality in transportation when dealing with customers. Maybe start with that POS rent a cop working the weekends at the north Las Vegas terminal. Douche bag needs an attitude adjustment
So, now that I know this company hires LIARS I will never, ever use them again. Here's the story: my husband and I bought a powered vehicle from toys r us for $300.00 only to find out that the shipping would cost an additional $125.00. Considering it was a large piece, we agreed. My husband then set up a date for delivery (12/15/16 between 1pm-5pm. As 5PM came and went, still no package. Mind you, I was home ALL day. No door bell ring, or note left, no phone call. NOTHING. So, when my husband called them, the system had it saying "no one home." Are you kidding me?! Was the guy so lazy that he didn't want to get onto the military base? Was he blind and didn't see my black SUV sitting in the driveway?? I know he didn't even approach the door because my two dogs would have gone nuts. So then, the lady on the phone says "you can come to the warehouse and pick it up." THIS IS A 90 POUND PACKAGE. But considering we would get an additional charge if we weren't home tomorrow.... that's what he have to do. Screw these people!
Best freight company
I initially gave 1 star because they forgot to deliver my children's playset two days in a row. A lady named Debbie had to "deliver" the bad news, but she was very professional and apologetic, but at the time that didn't do much to ease my frustration of changing my work schedule to be ready for a delivery two days in a row only to not have it arrive after I was called and told it would...However, a gentlemen named Jimmy called back and very professionally and apologetically fixed the problem and got the playset delivered ASAP. I'm not sure where the ball was dropped, but the sincerity out of the employees I dealt with made a difference and leads me to believe they don't make mistakes often. They did make a mistake this time but they made it right...and I can respect that.
The truck driver called to check ahead of time to make arrangements to get my package.
