I have moved cross country many times, and have always had my things arrive safely and in good condition. Denoyers couldn’t even move me 2.2 miles without severe damage to valuable antiques. So far, I am missing between 30 and 40 items, including the chairs that match my mothers dining room table, the leaves, and a full set of commercial pads for the table. One leg of an antique cedar chest was broken off so high it went into the compartment. And the foot of my Duncan Fife mahogany butterfly table was broken off.. am missing 3 folding chairs, 3 Christmas trees, a set of my Grandmothers French Havilland China, and the engraved silver that went with the China. And I’m not even finished opening boxes yet. But I did get someone else’s kitchen appliances (toaster oven, etc).
I recognize this was a complicated move, as I was in hospital and my realtor was overseeing the loading..Two week’s before the load, Greg and I did a walk through of the house and he made notes on his tablet. As to what items were going into storage while the renovations were done on my condo. There should have been a Denoyer supervisor on site to oversee their employees. At the very least, one of the loaders should have had a copy of Greg’s notes. How do you miss aset of dining room chairs that are already sitting in the driveway to be loaded? I wish there was a ‘zero’ star to rate my experience, because these movers don’t deserve anything higher.
