Big Foot exceeded our expectations. I knew of them through a co-worker and their Angie's list reviews but there are so many horror stories out there, you just never know. Rich came over and did an assessment of the house, inputting into his iPad. He asked a lot of questions, things we hadn’t thought of, that gave him an idea of how much more would be packed. On the day of the move, 4 guys showed to pack up. They were young but very professional. They were polite and friendly but, most importantly, very “down to business.” I basically just worked around them and felt totally confident in how they handled everything. They wrapped nearly everything in those heavy moving blankets, brought additional boxes that we ended up needing and had lots of plastic wrap for securing items too. I am someone who loves processes and these guys had a great process. One guy in the truck supervised everything going in so that it all fit and was secure. I would recommend the boxes they have for hanging clothes. I was able to take everything out of 3 closets and hang them in these tall boxes. I did this so I was sure my wife’s delicate dresses were handled right. When they were delivered the guys just pulled them out and rehung them in the labeled closets. Really worth the small additional costs. Fairly quickly they were driving away. So fast that I forgot to tip them. My wife supervised the unpack and she was just as impressed. One guy was there from the previous day and two new ones. But all the same good guys. They were great about working with us as we changed where some of the items were designated for. I made sure to go to the guy that had been there and give him a larger tip and told him to make sure that the previous gang got their share (he said that is common practice.) As stated, we had read so many horror stories about movers so, seeing our faith rewarded was very satisfying. Because I cannot resist a good pun, I will say: Big Foot made an "impression" on us; from our first contact with Rich on the phone until the truck pulled away from our new house. I would recommend them highly. I know I paid a little more but trust is something that is hard to put a price on.

The movers themselves were great. Very professional and careful with breakable items. The estimate process we easy as well. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that at the end of the move, the foreman didn't have the rate. He told us he was going to charge us the "standard" Bigfoot rate since it wasn't on the paperwork. I was called by the office several days later and told that bc my original estimate was for $25/hour, they were charging my card $200 more than what was paid at the time of the move. I have no idea why we weren't charged the "standard" rate to begin with, and feel they should have honored the lower rate since it was their error.

We had a fantastic experience with Big Foot. Rich McKee was our salesperson and he was responsive, helpful and organized. They moved some of our belongings into storage so we could stage our condo for sale, and then moved them and the rest of our stuff to our new home 8 months later. The crew on both moves were unbelievable. They were polite, personable, and efficient. We moved into a 5 story walk up and I swear they did it with smiles on their faces. They took time to ask questions and place furniture and took great care of all of our belongings, including our 150 year old dressing table. All of our stuff (including the storage items) were unscathed. My husband and I joked that writing fragile on some boxes was futile because they treated them all like fragiles. They have perfected being really fast and efficient without making the customer feel like they are rushing. We considered cheaper companies (like AVIV) but we were so happy we chose Big Foot. Their estimate for 7 hours was spot on, whereas Aviv and others estimated ~4 hours. Either they don't know how to estimate, were low-balling us, or the moves are frantic. I can't imagine our move taking a minute less than 7 hours. In addition, I felt that the moving crews are probably treated better by Big Foot in terms of wages, benefits, etc. versus the cheaper companies. Looking at Big Foot's employment webpage, it seems like a great company to work for. I like to think about those things when I hire someone. In addition, if anything ever went wrong, I would definitely want to be dealing with Rich at Big Foot and not some of the gruff people I talked to when shopping the discount companies. Definitely! In sum, they were the best part of our move. Moving stinks, but these guys made the actual process painless and dare I say sort of fun? They (almost) make you want to move again.

I've used Big Foot for 2 moves now, the most recent being between 2 east coast cities. The pre-move arrangements for the latter move were not ideal. I would have appreciated more proactive interaction in the few days prior to the move. I reached out to ask when I should expect the truck and was told one thing; later that day, the timing of the pick up changed to the day PRIOR to the day of the move. So. Scramble to finish packing in time to accommodate that schedule. At my request, they did push the timing of the pick up as late in the day as possible, but it would have helped to know more than 2 days prior to the move that I had one less packing day than expected. The workers were organized and swift, but not particularly pleasant. One was downright rude to me and to the staff at the condominium. However, our belongings arrived in good condition and on time. UPDATE: Bob and Mike at BF Moving reached out to me immediately to respond to my concerns listed above. I was very pleased with the timing of the response, their commitment to improvement and continued excellent customer service:

I'm not really know where to start besides this company is Terrible! I was recommended from a close friend who has moved with Bigfoot a few times throughout the years. My experience started pleasant but became uncomfortable very fast. One of the workers started came in smelling of reefer and began arguing in my home and using vulgar language in front of my children and also used the bathroom and clogged my toilet. That was not the worst part of the experience. I was told my bed frame cannot be taken apart by two men for a while then another worker came and did the whole thing himself. After the bed was taken apart, I ended up walking into my bedroom to find out that they broke a piece of my bed that could not have been replaced. I did not say anything to them but called the office and had no response.. My furniture had a hint of cigarettes and I was not pleased .. Overall my experience with Bigfoot was not good and would not recommend . unless you want a vulgar language and the scent of cigarettes lingering in your items

Super job packing, storing, and delivering. Only reason not to give five stars is that the labelling could be better, and some boxes had no label at all so we didn't know what was there until we opened them. But otherwise, excellent, and we've now used them three times for three different moves.

Overall a pretty good moving experi nice but with a major caveat. Although they knew they were moving an upright piano and agreed to do it w two guys, when they got it into the truck they said they needed three to move it at the other end, our house in Cape Cod that has one step to the level where the piano was going.so they stored it I their warehouse for theeee weeks and eventually said they would move it w two guys. It ended up costing us more money for the two moves than would have been the case. I didn’t like the fact that they contracted to do something with two movers and then reneged. But they are overall courteous and careful movers.

Big Foot Moving did an excellent job with our move. We moved 13,000lbs of stuff from MA to VT. We had them pack and move furniture, kitchen ware, dishes, pottery, art, etc. Everything that was in our house was packed and moved by Big Foot. The guys they sent were great. The move went well. The only thing that was less than perfect was the labeling of the boxes. No big deal. We'd use them again.

I had a 70 box local urgent move. Bigfoot arrived on time. Taped my boxes. Loaded. Delivered to storage. Went to second storage location to pick up items and deliver back to my house. Unloaded. All in less than 3 hours. Final price was BELOW estimate. Who can ask for anything better than that? Good guys as well. 5 stars.

They helped with my move over the summer of 2014 and I found them to be average at best. The summary version is that while the moving crew did a good job, when things went wrong, the central office was terrible at communicating. While I know the summer is a busy moving season, I have no faith that they would be helpful if something really went wrong. While I chose them because I wanted to support a local company and would hopefully get better customer service, I greatly regret that decision. At least Comcast representatives pretend to apologize and try to make things right. I can't say the same for Big Foot Moving.

My wife and I recently moved from a house (with tons of storage) to a condo. Big Foot was a huge help with our move. Some of our stuff went to the new home, some went to a place on the Cape, and a lot was donated to a Big Foot site in Acton. Everything went so smoothly. The teams always showed up on time, packed everything with great precision, got everything to the right location, and even took back some moving wardrobe boxes and other cardboard boxes. We highly recommend Big Foot. This was our second time moving with them. They have a great team and treat your stuff as if it was their own!

We packed our stuff into crates, used ABF to deliver them, then used Bigfoot to unpack the crates and move it into our house. There was a mixup in scheduling, but at the last minute on New Year's Eve the bigfoot crew showed up and unpacked our crates. They were very nice and got everything done incredibly fast, even the big stuff like the piano, washer, and dryer all went into the house with no trouble. I would definitely recommend them.

We recently used Big Foot Moving to move our family into a new construction home. They not only moved us from our temporary home but emptied a POD for us as well. The movers showed up on time, were professional, and Worked efficiently with no damage to our goods. When we ran out of packing boxes they had plenty of supplies on hand. They were very good about putting everything where we wanted it, covering the floors to protect from the winter elements, and being extremely neat. They had a team of 6 guys so the move went a lot faster than we anticipated as well. I would use them again & definitely recommend using them.
