Easy to schedule (and reschedule) over the phone. Managed to find a truck parking spot in South End which was impressive. Some of their packers were kind of inexperienced, so they took longer than other movers I've seen. But nothing was broken, and we had budgeted the whole day, so it worked out ok.

The guys who helped me are amazing. I work at an art center, specifically the ceramics dept. we ha a new floor put in an Big City moved ALL out equipment out and back in a month later, super fast, with no damage, and total respect for th plumbers, painters, and volunteers who were helping with the renovation.

I recently moved to Atkinson, NH and was very impressed with Brendan Peck's team of movers at Big City Moving. They were efficient, quick and careful. I'm not easily satisfied but I must say that Brendan's team were great. Basically, they got the job done to my satisfaction and were very professional. Not that moving is fun but Big City made it a good experience for me.

I hired Big City Moving to handle my move and was very happy with their service and price. They showed up on time, were very careful with our things, wrapping and protecting them well, and were very careful coming in and out my house. My house has some tight turns getting into my bedrooms and den so it was not the easiest of moves but everything got where it was supposed to be without a hitch. I have referred this company to several clients as well ( I am a Realtor ) and all were very happy with the service so I give these guys 5 stars for sure and would not hesitate to recommend them again

Can't say enough good things about this company! Matthew and team are incredible. My roommate and I had a large haul from Framingham to Cambridge and the guys were able to pack up the truck and get us all moved in within 4 hours. They were right on time and very efficient; unbelievable service and attention to detail. Zero damage to our apartment or personal belongings. Zack, Noah, and Kevin were so lovely to work with, even offering to help more after they had finished all the tasks requested of them. Not only were they great to work with, using this company saved us boatloads of money. We paid about half of what we were quoted otherwise. Don't let any bad reviews fool you--the new ownership has done their due diligence because I cannot relate to any of those issues at all. in my experience, they go above and beyond. Again, highly recommend Big City Moving Co. They saved me massive amounts of stress and cash; I will certainly use them again for my next move. Thanks guys!

I used Big City to move some furniture and household goods to temporary storage (the storage site recommended them). After a minor late arrival, the two person team got right to work, were fast and efficient, and completed the entire job...packing...travel to storage...unpacking in just over two hours. I was expecting it to be at least a 3 hour job. I was pleased with the job and the price, would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

I can’t tell you how disappointed, angry and ripped off I feel. I had hired this company two a half years ago to move from Waltham to Watertown and they were terrific. I had no idea they had become so inept and unprofessional. After getting a reasonable quote from Matt, I hired them to move me to Jamaica Plain believing I would get the same level of service I got 3 1/2 years ago. However, I had no idea that the performance they provided was going to be horrible. The day of the move they arrived late and loaded up the truck slowly. Then, we headed out to the new place. I left them at 11:15 AM and was advised from Matt it would take 40 minutes for them to get there. After all, it’s only 7-10 miles depending on which route was taken. They didn’t arrive until 1:30 PM with no notice of what was taking them so long. Apparently, they took a nice leisurely lunch break, but said they were stuck in traffic. Then, the speed at which they unloaded the truck was incredibly slow. One of the guys would bring up a lamp and then 10 minutes later another small item and then five minutes later a box. They had absolutely no sense of urgency whatsoever. At one point I went out looking for them and found one guy in the cab of the truck either sleeping or playing with this phone doing nothing. Then, Matt and another guy was taking down a stack of boxes, rolled it down the ramp, lost control of the dolly and dropped one on the ground. Fortunately it wasn’t anything fragile, but other things in the move did get broken. I even provided them with water, as it appeared they had none. What would have they done had I not done so? It was totally unprofessional. By the time it was all over they took what should’ve been a 4 to 6 hour move and made it into an 8-hour catastrophe. They charged me $1,900 for 8 hours, which included their two hour lunch and their incredibly slow performance plus travel time (their last move cost me less than $600). When I argued with Matt about that he defended what they did as standard. I’ve never felt so ripped off in my life. Granted, it was rather warm (around 85°), but they didn’t care about time at all. Matt and his two lazy college-aged kids just taking their time not giving a damn. I strongly urge anyone looking for movers to never use this company, as I will never do so again!

Our delivery times and sites are always a challenge and often at inconvenient times. They have come through every time and with a smile. The moving crews are always great to work with and the front office always figures out how to accommodate our sometimes crazy demands. If you need something moved, these are the guys to do the job! If I could give them no stars I would. It was the worst experience ever! They were late. They broke things. It took nearly 12 hours to move a two bedroom apartment. I would never recommend them.

My friends and I have used Big City Moving as our primary movers for several years. The owners / coordinators are easy to work with, they are professional, and they are honest. A little over a year ago I used their services for a big move, and when I expressed concerns over an issue, they were super on top of it and responsive. Mistakes happen, but I find that it's often the response from ownership I remember more than the incident. Their pricing is fair, they are punctual, and if you are looking for an in-city company that has a firm understanding of the nuances and challenges associated with moving in the Boston area, these are your people. I no longer live in the area, but I encourage anyone I can to use them. Keep up the good work, fellas!
