I feel terrible that I have not posted this earlier. Metropolitan Moving did an incredible job 3x in the last 8 years. They moved us out of our home into an apartment....totally perfect! Then they moved us back into a home 8 years later....also perfect. While we were renovating, we had them put all our furniture/belongings in the lower level...which they did carefully and expertly. 7 months later, the same crew returned to put everything where it should be now that the renovation was complete. Nothing was lost or broken in all that process. The crew was so accommodating, and willing to move furniture several times until I was happy. They assembled everything correctly. I could not have asked for a nicer, more hard-working crew! Thanks to Metro office staff for helping coordinate....all of you are beyond amazing when it comes to relieving the stress of moving! Thanks again....hope we don't move for a very long time, but if we do....expect a call....you're the best! Thanks!

Metropolitan handled packing and my move in and out of storage (had major renovations) perfectly. They thoroughly protected all of my new hardwood flooring on the move back in. I've never seen such diligent workers and the grand total actually came in under Eddie's estimate. We are staying put but would use again in a flash. - Art

I am having this company blacklisted within the DMV. Movers are great but the staff is unprofessional and lacking experience. They gave me a weight limit via e-mail then the General Manager sent an e-mail that they never weighed my HHGs. Do not utilize this company. I promise you that you will regret it. I have advised all military bases within the DMV to blacklist this company. Just terrible!

I have moved many time from all over the country and this moving company was by far THE BEST MOVING COMPANY I have ever used. My whole experience over all was outstanding!! I scheduled a free on-site estimate and met with a very nice and professional estimator. He explained everything in great detail. Price was on point. The men 3 men who moved me were so outstanding, very kind, professional and worked so hard in such terrible heat I was completely blown away! The move felt so organized and so stress free. If you need to hire a moving company to move you, you need to use Metropolitan Moving & Storage!!!

I just moved from Washington D.C. to New York and couldn't recommend Metropolitan Moving & Storage more! They were incredibly professional, prompt and just provided fantastic service overall. The team provided me with a quote, my packing materials and multiple check points throughout my move. On the day of the move, my movers arrived EARLY, had my place packed up in record time and delivered my belongings on time and in tact the next day. They were courteous, careful with my possessions and very helpful. THANK YOU for making my move EASY!

Metropolitan Moving and Storage deserves more than five stars! Truly, the movers who helped us move into our new apartment were the kindest and most helpful professionals I have worked with while moving. Not only did the arrive promptly, they finished the job early, saving us money. They were polite and cared about our furniture, clothing, dishes and personal items. Everything was handled, packed, unpacked and place with the utmost care. I have many fragile statues and collections of crystal and china- all of it was perfectly moved and accounted for. The two men who helped us were both friendly and kind- which I have found to be very rare when working with movers or handymen. They took special care to keep my new apartment clean and brought all of there own materials, making everything so easy for me. The entire process was easy, quick and beyond satisfactory. The rate was great and I will absolutely recommend their services to all my friends and associates within the area.

We were very pleased with our moving experience with Metropolitan. The entire process was seamless and well executed. Our move was scheduled for a weekend with inclement weather and they were in touch frequently with us in the prior days and were ready to support whatever we wanted to do. We went forward with the move and they added an extra person to our team to ensure it went smoothly. When I expressed concern about additional cost, they assured me that we would not be charged more than estimate. The moving team arrived early and was so efficient that everything was in our new home by 2 PM with nothing broken and was slightly under estimate even with extra hands. It was the smoothest move I have ever experienced. The office staff was also on top of everything and even followed up post move to confirm all went well.

I have moved a dozen times, and hired movers for half my moves, and I can unequivocally say this is the worst moving company you could possibly hire in the entire DC/MD/VA area. Unprofessional and inexperienced, these movers will not only misquote you by hundreds of dollars, they will also break everything you own. Everyone from the movers to management are extremely rude, and constantly attempt to deflect blame for issues back onto you, despite obviously being at fault. They overuse expensive supplies and move as slowly as possible to justify overcharging you. Don't trust the obviously paid for/planted positive reviews; read the negative ones and you will notice an uncanny pattern.

I would NOT recommend this company. I would have given them zero stars if that was an option. On the day of our move I waited until the the window for arrival had closed and then called the company when no one showed up. They told me they were not sure what was going on because the local crew was handling our move. The local crew called me and told me the truck "broke down" and they would not be able to come that day. When I asked him why he hadn't called to inform me he started to give me some story about all of the electric going out in the truck and not being able to place a call. I told him we all have cell phones so it should have been easy enough to let me know. He said he would be able to move me the next day but would only be able to take 45 dollars off the move and then proceeded to tell me I needed to hurry up and let him know if I wanted that spot. I told him under no circumstances after his horrible customer service would I use his services. I attempted to let the central scheduling office that seems to be based out of Maryland know and they seemed to be generally unconcerned. Just be careful, this company centrally schedules and then farms the works out to a local crew. These local crews may not be vetted and are not controlled in anyway by the central office. Buyer beware!!! We moved ourselves that day. I have dealt with two professional moving company if the past and can say I was truly stunned by this company's lack of professionalism. Buyer beware!!!

They hire local full-time workers who offer full-service moving; they disassemble and reassemble, pickup and drop off at interim locations, take excellent care of all your stuff, shift things around at the new place with you until you're satisfied (sofa and love seat switched please no back the other way was better) and ask attentive questions just like it was friends and family helping you move. Temporary storage is an option if needed. All reasonable priced, insured and bonded.

Best in town!! We have a 4 level town home with 3 sets of crooked streets. All other moving company scared us that u May have to call the crane or Rig. They came assured us that if they need to remove the railings they’ll do. They removed some hanging chandelier which were in the way and then re installed those. Even suggested ya the best way to place our beds in basement so it looks spacious. Awesome attitude and great service. Don’t look around just call them and let them handle everything with care!!!

I have used this company twice. 8 years ago and again this week. Both times they were excellent. While I hope never have to move again, if I do I would gladly hire Metropolitan. They have been terrific. Courteous, efficient and unbelievably hard working. I had two large, heavy and valuable pieces that would not fit in my new apartment’s freight elevator. The only option was to carry them up seven flights of stairs. They just got it done. On top of the great performance, the cost was LESS than estimated. I don’t write gushing reviews, but this is a real exception. They are just great.

They were able to schedule our move with only 3 days notice. The men were very fast yet very careful with our things and they were polite and professional. They moved 1/2 our condo to a storage unit in less than 3 hours. I WILL be hiring them for the full move to our new home .

Metropolitan Moving and Storage moved our single family home. The original estimate was on the high side of the moving companies who I talked to. However, I felt that the estimator had the experience to know exactly what it would take to move our entire home. He estimated 5 guys and 10 hours for the move. In the end, it took Mario and his crew ~7 hours to complete the move. They were friendly and professional throughout the process. They had to take a couple pieces of furniture apart and reassemble them, which they did without complaint. No damage on any items or either of the homes. Overall, I was impressed with Metropolitan Moving & Storage and would recommend them to anyone looking to move from or within the DC area.
