The price is very reasonable for what you get. They were very fast getting everything into the truck and unloading everything at the destination. Nothing was broken as they handled all my stuff with care. I literally just sat back back and told them what needed to be taken and they did the rest. I was impressed by how organized they were too. I moved a few times in the past with different companies and have had some issues, so I was ready for problems this time also. I must say that this move was the best move we ever had. I must say, Artisan Movers is amazing! I called and got a good estimate and was all set for our move from Gaithersburg to Fairfax. They showed up 30 minutes before the time they said they would. Very experienced and careful guys were sent over to me. They wrapped my stuff up and loaded everything on the truck within a good amount of time. The guys were great, worked as fast as they could and were very professional. I was very happy with the service we received. Our stuff arrived in great condition and they really took care of our belongings making sure everything was wrapped in a blanket. Artisan Movers were absolutely exceptional for our move from a 1-bedroom apartment to a single family home. First of all, when i was quote shopping and filling out online questionnaires, Dimitry was the first one to get back to me...AND he did so via phone call, which was a nice personal touch. Then, the day of the move, Santos and his mates were early, scouted out our apartment complex for the most strategic routes (the location of our apartment was a little complicated) and completed the whole move in 4.5 hours (including our packing up our storage unit AND taking a good bit of our worn out stuff to the apartment dumpster for us). Also, the day of the move was POURING RAIN and the guys kept all of our belongings protected. Final price was right in the ballpark of the original 4 hour quote...and given how professional, timely, and over and beyond the guys were, I simply can't recommend Artisan Movers and Santos' crew enough. THANKS FELLAS!!

It was our smoothest move yet! While we were vetting different moving companies in the area, we found that Artisan Movers had the most prompt, and reliable response. Their quote was 100% accurate, with honest information throughout the whole process. There were no hidden fees, and the charges for supplies that were used were fair, and exactly what they stated before the process began. On the actual move day, Chris, Santos, and Alex did a wonderful job. They were extremely thoughtful and flexible the entire day. We had a few extra requests that came up unexpectedly due to the previous tenants inability to remove all of their extra stuff and the gentlemen did a very quick and through job removing all the extra furniture without a single complaint. Very professional service, and they were SO quick and efficient the whole day. I know the next time we move, we won't be nearly as stressed out because we know our things are in good hands. Artisan movers sent Leonardo to perform the estimate for the move. I had already interviewed two other movers and Leonardo was easily the best in terms of his honest appraisal, setting our minds at ease and not being terribly nitpick about each and every detail. The other two movers I interviewed each tried to up-sell me as well as specified numerous constraints and costs that left my head spinning. Artisan movers on the other hand provided a thorough estimate with no hidden charges. I was able to secure cell numbers for Marc and Leonardo in case something got delayed on the day of the move since I was on a tight schedule. This put my mind at ease regarding scheduling since that is one of the biggest gaps in any move. I was taking a whole day off to make this move go through and had lined up storage for the next day and after that was off out of town for 4 days. So this had to go as scheduled. That was the top priority. On the day of the move I got a call from Chris early saying the crew, of which Chris was the lead would be there by 8:30 am to start the move. As promised, they arrived on time. There were a couple of items that Chris pointed to and indicated that these were already damaged before the move. Nothing was broken or lost during the move. The move itself went exactly as planned. I had added an additional stop and that took us into DC and Chris had no problem with that. The crew placed all boxes exactly where I wanted it and at the end I felt like this was a well executed operation from start to finish. I would recommend Artisan Movers any day. They are thorough and professional.

Artisan actually made our office move stress-free. Marc quickly answered all our calls and questions, the quote was great, and the movers were a pleasure to deal with. As with all moves, we had a few last second changes, but they weren't a problem for Artisan. I have had bad experiences with other moving companies in the past, so I was expecting something to go wrong with this one, but the job went perfectly. It was a tough job, a lot of stuff for a large house, but a narrow single door entrance, with most of the stuff going upstairs, and this company did a great job. They worked hard, and handled the furniture carefully. Any moving job I need in the future, I will only use and recommend them!

Having moved before myself and with small groups through UHaul I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient the group was a the care they showed for my furniture. The only item I would look for Artisan to improve is there was significant confusion about what sort of packing required additional cost and what was included in the base package. The best movers I have worked with (and I have worked with many over the last few years) not just in DC, but anywhere. So good on so many levels. Details: I needed to schedule a move with a narrow time window on both ends, on a busy Saturday in June and only a week away. After contacting over ten DC area movers – none of whom could help me or frankly even wanted to talk to me – I found Marc at Artisan. Loved Marc’s communication style (he opened up a chat window to ask me questions while I was begging another mover to give me a Saturday AM timeslot) from beginning to end. Marc was prompt, clear and responsive to last minute changes when we had a double-booking for the freight elevator on Sat AM. His crew – Reggie, Chris and Everett - were extremely professional, friendly and incredibly efficient. They navigated the complexities of moving into a DC dupont circle apartment (NOT an easy thing to do with a moving truck!) with ease and enthusiasm. Rock stars!

Full disclosure, I'm receiving a gift card as an incentive to complete a customer review. That said, this is an honest review and conveys a great experience I had with Artisan Movers. What stood out to me is their great customer service across the board, from the individuals that answer the phone to the movers themselves, that ultimately made a stressful process surprisingly stress-free. Scheduling the move was easy and I appreciated the emails confirming date/time details. I initially scheduled my move for a Tuesday and ended up changing it to the Monday before (President's day) last minute. Despite the last minute change and it being a holiday, they were willing to accommodate. I have struggled with movers in the past due to a lack of transparency and accountability (i.e. talking to a different person every time you call and not being able to track down basic time/date and pricing info). Artisan Movers gave me the information I needed up front, they were accessible and responsive, and they were able to provide reasonable expectations for timing and pricing. Additionally, as soon as the move was over I received a follow up call from Artisan Movers to ask about the quality of the service. I plan to use this company again for any future moves, and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Artisan Movers moved my household 2 days ago. It was a local move, only 10 miles, but it was a large household. Cris came with 5 other movers and two trucks and arrived at 9:10 AM, and they were finished by 3:45 PM (delivered all items to our new rental house). Cris stressed that it was his goal to be as efficient as possible, and if I had any questions or concerns, that he would take care of them. I was very impressed with Cris and his entire crew. They quickly moved through the house and took all the boxes that we had packed and furniture items, and offered to take anything else we hadn't gotten to in our packing, which was a good bit. I liked the fact that Artisan Movers brought wardrobe boxes to be used in the move so I didn't have to pay for any (they take back the wardrobe boxes when the move is complete). They also took special care of my wife's upright piano. They were courteous, friendly and in good spirits the entire time. I am retired from 20 years in the Navy, and had been through 17 moves during that time. No move I have had previously compared to the ease and efficiency with which this move occurred. I am a total fan of Artisan Movers, and plan to use them again in 9 months when I move out of this rental house to a permanent house.

Artisan Movers did a fantastic job helping me move from my 3BR house in Arlington, VA. Dimitri first came to my house to see how much would need to be moved and he explained the whole process - I was very happy to learn that I wouldn't need to pack up the closets as they had wardrobe boxes and would do that for me - saved me so much time and effort! The 4-man crew showed up exactly on time and were amazing! They were polite, efficient and worked non-stop to pack up the truck and unpack at the new house as quickly as possible. Everything showed up damage-free and they consulted with me about where all of the furniture should go in the new house. It was a very stress-free experience. One of the worst experiences I have encountered with a moving company. I have hired two other moving companies in the past 4 years who were exceptional compared to this. We were moving a 900 Sq FT one Bedroom Apartment to a mid size town house of about 1,800 sq FT. They took their time wrapping and over wrapping each item to the point when it came to unwrapping, I had to help hustle them along and remove the wrapping myself. They broke half of the wine glasses in a box and when i inquired about missing box- had zero response. The quote for was for 4-5 hours, it took them 8 and was charged more than double the cost of the original quote. The kicker- The moving team left their drill with us, which we did not realize until about a week after our move- and called my cellphone at 7:55 AM demanding their drill back, and I specifically said I was not home to help them, and proceeded to ring my doorbell almost 25 times, waking up my family. Good luck with them!

Last month I moved locally, from a high-rise apartment building to a low-rise condo building (so a lot of elevator and hallway logistics involved). Marc was very responsive over email and phone from the time that I requested a quote. The morning of the move, the team of 3 movers were quick and careful with all of my items. I did have pretty much all of my items boxed up already, so I can't speak to that part of their service. However, they were able to take apart and put together a daybed quickly, which was the biggest item that I had to move. Also, my flat screen TV was wrapped very well and had no issues being moved over to my new place. Any boxes that seemed a little loosely packed were also taped and wrapped by the movers, which I appreciated. The movers were professional, friendly, took note of any specific requests I had during the move, and I would definitely recommend them to others looking for movers.

I did not hesitate to book a second move of the remaining items in my house in June, which required dropping off stuff at three locations. gain, the service proved to be as good as the previous one. I would highlight that even though the rate is by the hour, and that you are charged for the packing materials used, which could be an incentive to be idle and wasteful, the crew really does its best to plan an efficient strategy, makes an effort to do a quick and time-wise seamless job, and uses only the strictly necessary materials for good packing, nothing was damaged. I can't say enough about Artisan Movers. From the quotation to the final move, the level of professionalism and care provided by their entire staff far exceeded my expectations. The estimate was accurate with no surprises when it came time to the final bill. The extraordinary level of care and protection they gave to our furniture ensured that it would all arrive safely and damage free. How they were able to artfully execute the tight corners and stairs of my previous home while carrying some very heavy, large, and solid pieces was amazing to watch. As for the price; what a great value! Artisan Movers is a must hire.
