Overall, a decent experience. They charged extra for tape and I was surprised about that. We had taken steps to avoid any extra costs and I didn't think we would incur any. I called once they had brought the truck to my new house and were asking for payment and I asked if they could work with me on the extra charge of for tape which was $70. They said they couldn't. Honestly, I was just hoping they could discount like 20 or 30 bucks or something. So, I tried to just get over it. But, then, toward the end, the main guy was really moody and kind of rude to us and I'm not really sure why. We gave them a decent tip at the end and he didn't even thank us for it. They took off our storm door in order to move everything in which I totally understand having to do but it hasn't worked properly since. That's something I wouldn't worry about had they given me a break on the tape but since they feel the need to account for every little thing, so do I. There was other minor damage. But, again, I understand that some things are bound to happen. Just wish I had a better positive feeling about the whole thing when it was all said and done. Overall, the workers did a good job and they were careful. And their rate was fair. Like I said, just left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth at the end. I'm not sure if the guys were just tired or if he was pissed that I called about the tape, or what. Anyway, at the end of the day, I can't complain too much but I don't think I would use these guys again.

I was extremely nervous to make a commitment, because I'd heard and read many horror stories about movers,. Even after researching and researching , I was still very stressed. I did not want a quote for one price and get a different cost on delivery. American Relocation kept their promise of calling me the night before or morning of the move for final confirmation. The movers called to say they're on their way and gave an ETA. They arrived on time. The guys were great...more than great...they were excellent! My boxes and bags were already packed. However, they wrapped all the furniture and took every stitch on the truck. Everything arrived in excellent condition. I was charged more because of the extra boxes required for my Tv, etc. which he informed me before he wrapped or boxed anything, My initial quote was $571. I paid $200 more plus tip (about $100). I think the required minimum tip is 10% per mover. I was fine with the extra cost because I was informed once he came in and assessed the move. They did excellent work. I will definitely use them again and I have referred them to others.

I've used American Relocation twice in the last 3 years, both local moves. In both cases, I was an extremely satisfied customer. They arrived early, communicated well, asked questions about what went where, worked carefully and efficiently, and finished early. Both moving teams were extremely polite and professional. I even recommended them to a friend who also had positive experience, just as we expected. You never quite know what you'll get when hiring someone to handle your belongings. These guys treat it like their own, and for a very respectable price. Will happily use them again for my next relocation!

Submitted a request for a quote and was called back by someone who I could barely understand. Was told that the price for 3 hours would be $460. This is not a bad price, however the company is in Baltimore about 40 minutes from my house and they wanted to charge me for the drive time to my house. Telling me I have to pay for a 3rd or more of my booked time while your drivers take their time through traffic to get to me is a joke. Stay in your county with that nonsense.

DO NOT use this company. I moved memorial day weekend only 7 miles to the Canton area in Baltimore. After providing an accurate inventory of items to be moved, American Relocation quoted 3 hours. The job ended up taking 8 hours costing over double the quoted price! The movers worked at a slow pace and I ended up having to work extremely hard moving stuff to try to cut down on time and costs. Not only were the movers extremely inefficient, but they forgot several items on the truck. It was a nightmare trying to track down the missing items. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience and I will not use them again. I tried to give customer service the benefit of the doubt that they would compensate me or reduce the total price. However, they were very unresponsive and unaccommodating so I thought this review was necessary so the market knows what they are getting into before using American Relocation services.

I moved this past weekend. This was the worst experience I had ever had. Very unprofessional they were late arriving to my old house to move my furniture, the workers started arguing with each other. None of my furniture was covered. I had a refrigerator that was destroyed. I had things that was broken, my living furniture ripped and was dirty almost looking like grease stains, etc. I could go on and on. Terrible experience I o would not recommend that anyone use them.

One of them called the police who inturn called Animal Control about her dogs that were inside her house because they were barking. It was none of their business. We went with American Relocation because our friend recommended them. We used this company two times. First we moved local and second we moved to California. I don't remember who gave me the first local quote but it was a great price and the move didn't take more than the estimated time. For California move Crystal gave me a fast honest quote on the phone and answered all my questions, she was very nice and patient with all my hundreds questions I had. We asked 4 guys, the were on time, worked quickly, efficient and were very respectful of my belongings. They did an inventory list and put sticker over all my boxes and furniture and gave me a copy also. We received all our furniture in great condition in less than 10 days, WOW I was surprised, I even didn't expect to receive our belongings so fast. I gave a good tip to the movers because they did a great job. Thank you guys!!! I appreciate everything you did for us.

These folks are crooks. I called for an estimate, then they called me back for a more detailed list of items to be moved and didn't even capture what I told them. Then the day of the move, they send a small truck. When I told them I had a 10×20 storage unit full top to bottom and several big, bulky items & boxes & bags. And, I was picking up several bulky items from another storage unit. Needless to say, all of my stuff did not fit on that truck. So we get to my new place & they begin to unload, then the foreman for the job charged me an additional $300, which he said was to go back and get the rest of my items. Well, that never happened. Plus, the stuff moved doesn't have its matching parts. I have a China cabinet and chairs, but not my dining table, 1 half of my closet, boxspring but no mattress, 1 chest but no dresser or nightstand. I called the guy who I made the appointment with & the best he could give me was another $300 to move what they were supposed to move on the 1st job. And then implied that he think it would be more so I would have to pay the additional time, when means I would pay extra for their gas too because I went over my estimated time. So that would be over $1200 for a $500 job. These items, plus a lot more came all the way from Florida to here (Maryland) and it did not cost NEARLY this much. I only paid $600 for that move. And this stuff has been moved a few more times since the Florida move and STILL was only $500. Now I have to pay another month of storage for both places and all of my stuff is not with me. My suggestion is to uhaul, get a truck & hire a few day laborers. You'll be happier, wish I had.

Not professional. Would not recommend them. Came to move our stuff with just 2 person and took 7 hours to move 3 bedroom and sofa set. Over charged. The driver was inexperienced. He hit our new home roof gutter while backing his truck causing an expensive repair cost. Scratched wodden floor stairs, not using protection rugs. Charged extra for boxes, tape. Charged around 900$ for just 6 miles move. Disappointing.

Spring 2018 was my last move. I figured I never had movers so why not try it. What a horrible experience. To start off they were late. Then I find out about hidden costs of storing the furniture on the truck. If I didn’t want to pay those costs I could put it in their storage for free. Another trap. Almost $500 in packing material (that’s required when placing it in their storage). They damaged my nice expensive bedroom furniture with their razor knives while unpack the “protected furniture”. They also damaged my house I was selling. It took them forever to move the stuff into my new place. I’d have been better off just doing it myself. All told I spent twice as much as quoted. They ended up covering the damage but barely and of course it will never be the same. This place is a scam.

American Relocation in DC has been really easy to work with. My moving coordinator Michele has been attentive and up front with me about the costs of moving. She's also working with me to schedule my deliver in San Francisco since I have a couple of days where I can't take delivery. My movers here in DC were also great. They arrived on time got here at 9am. Looked over everything and got started right away. That's where everything went down hill. They charge you for EVERYTHING and they don't make it known before hand. Had they told me i would be charged for them using their tape i would have told them to use mine. 21$ for them to tape things that weren't necessary. They were going to charge me 40$ to move the top of my desk i had to move it myself. They only wrap one mattress the second mattress i had (a crib mattress) would have cost more i told them don't bother. They tell you everything that has prior damage that's fine the problem is they don't remember what they tell you about so when they are dropping things off and there is new damage everything was already there. They scraped the leather off my sofa, chipped the paint on my daughters crib AND lost 4 screws that i had to go out to buy. They stacked boxes that had FRAGILE all over on top of each other with the heaviest box on top then blamed me or packing them wrong that's why they were caving in. But the worst part is they broke my brand new tv! You can see the palm and thumbprint from where he squeezed it then we got blamed again when their idea of wrapping a tv is putting a blanket over it. Don't waste your time unless you want your stuff to be delivered damaged or broken. I contacted them and still haven’t heard anything back about the damage they caused.

I’m like seriously he said “it’s more than a flight” I think that is ridiculous, it’s just the principle for me. I paid it though, but I feel that it should have been waived. They were a week late shipping my items and when I was finally contacted to set the delivery time I was told between 9am and 11am. I called at 10:30 to see if they still planned on making the 9-11 window and was informed they forgot to call me they were having an issue and they’d be late it would be around 2pm. The movers were very courteous though and they worked fast. The overall experience was good. Victor was a pleasure to work with from the office side. The office side could have communicated better about the delay in shipping. I would use them again, I’d just walk my items up the first two steps and let them handle the remaining 12

Just got my stuff delivered to Florida and I am happy with this company. I went with full service so they packed everything for me and delivered on the day I wanted (it's worth the money). No damage, fast delivery, good customer service, sales guy was informative and funny. The best thing about them - it's up to you to go either by weight or by volume, while all other quotes I've got were based on volume. Going by weight turned out to be almost two times less expensive.

My move was scheduled for July 28th between 8:30-9:00a.m. needless to say the move never took place. This was one of the worse moves in my entire life. The movers arrived at 9:30 a.m. with items already on the truck. After the truck driver came in look at my furniture asked me would it be ok for him to deliver the items that where on truck and come back at 1p.m. I said ok. I still had a few things to pack. Not haven been to sleep up all night packing. My contact was for 3 men four hr. The driver then informed me after coming back at 1p.m. that he could move everthing that was listing in my contact in four hr. He could only move furniture and nothing else.I was not quoted that I had to pay extra to have my glass items wrapped. Needless to say the glass knobs on my expensive office desk where broken. Frame on box spring was broken. By this time I was so upset. I am a sixty year old women who is disabled. A couple of freinds came over to help me as well with this move.The driver and one of my friends got into a argument about them breaking up my furniture. So the driver called someone from the company told them what had transpared. The person on the other end of the phone told the driver to take all of my furniture off truck and leave it on the sidewalk and pull off. I will not be recommending or using this company again.I am still trying to get my deposit back as well as being reimbursed for all items broken.
