Easy pickup process but a slightly confusing drop off. Not what I customarily come across. Maybe consider instructions when first picking up the vehicle. Otherwise fine vehicle.

The rental people were nice enough, and I got the car quickly, but it stank because someone had been smoking in it. Dollar is supposed to have the same non-smoking policy as any rental place, but does nothing to enforce it. There are no "NO SMOKING" tags inside the car, and no notes in my rental agreement.

I will never rent with Dollar rental again! If I could have written this review with no stars I would have!! First of all they put the rental in the wrong name so when I had to extend my rental I couldn’t do it over the phone and had to go to the jetport where I rented it to get it fixed! Which it never got fixed they just added me as an additional driver!! I now find out they charged me a $300 cleaning fee as they claimed I smoked in the vehicle and that they had to hold it for 2 days!! Yet the back seat and trunk were stained with who knows what before I even got it!! $300 and 2 day hold to clean it is INSANE!!! I didn’t damage the vehicle, I didn’t stain it, I didn’t do anything and I did not smoke in the vehicle, I have a child that rides in the car with me and I DO NOT SMOKE AROUND HIM!! The only reason I rented a car is because my transmission went in my vehicle!!! This is also just days before Christmas!! I will absolutely never go through this company again! They are an absolute rip off and look to make a buck wherever they can!!! No wonder they are cheap! The make their money screwing people over!!

Very efficient check in and helpful front desk personnel. Everything was smooth from the time we landed and returned the vehicle. No hidden costs or pressure to purchase additional features. The vehicle was clean, fuel efficient, and it was very easy to return. Certainly would continue to do business with Dollar Rent A Car next time we are in Portland.

You can’t call anyone at this location for a lost item. I’m being told by call center to go online and fill out lost item claim. I returned car an hour ago. Totally disappointed. This might be news to your branch but customers satisfaction and experience is important to running a public viewed business Enterprise I will be coming your way next!!

Asked to have gas pre paid then had to pay an extra $134 because of the original clerks error not adding in the pre paid gas at pick up. Car had high mileage, wipers streaked, stunk, dusty, worn tires. I had to wipe down the dashboard and radio myself when I picked the car up. Not a pleasant experience. Will rent with enterprise or Alamo next because they have treated me great from my past experiences and have given me top notch service and clean cars. I regret trying dollar.

I booked the car at a decent daily rate. When I needed the car a few more days, but less than a week, I was charged a weekly rate. This was a much higher per day rate than what I was paying. The telephone agent told me this was "Company Policy". You ripped me off!!! But it won't happen again. I've never heard of such a ridiculous policy. Shame on you.

Car was excellent, service even more good. Guy at the counter was very polite, funny and seems like he loves his job. We got Dodge Durango, absolute beast. Car was clean, just when we unfold 5. And 6. Seat it was dirty in front of them. Thank you very much and we will be back.

They sneakily got me to buy more insurance on top of the insurance I purchased with Expedia. I did not realize I was doing so until they fully charged my account after drop off and said it was too late to take it off. Manager on duty who should have been able to fix the issue was no help, and agreed it was a misunderstanding. If their sales person made it a misunderstanding, they should have remedied the situation. I was not happy and paid and extra $100 for insurance I already had (so for nothing). I do not suggest using Dollar/Thrifty car rentals.

Grabbed a decent weekly rate on a 7-passenger van and everything went 5 by 5. The van was clean, ran great and suited our needs allowing us to avoid carpooling to a graduation in to vehicles. Both the pickup and drop off attendants were friendly and attentive. We will rent from dollar again if we ever need to tale a similar trip.

Dollar was great! We had multiple changes to flights which required changes in pick up and drop off points for the vehicles. Each time we changed they were efficient and quick to get it worked out for us. One comment on the after hours drop off. Their website and representative(phone) did not offer it but when we arrived at the airport they had their sticker on the after hours drop box for Hertz. It would've been helpful to know it was available. We used the Hertz box with the sticker and all worked out fine. I will definitely use Dollar again.

I rented a car for 2 days for $60 or something. I later got toll bills for over $150 without being able to get any help to address this. I went through tolls in NH but thought with the EZ pass would be charged just what the toll was not $150--but this is a rip off and I will never, ever rent from Dollar again. Dollar claims they can't do anything about it -- but it's their system that has these exorbitant costs. They make money off this policy and it is terrible customer service.

Agent at The rental counter was extremely rude. There phone reps quoted me 15% of my rental as a deposit. I get to the counter and they wanted $350. My rental was not even 300. The agent gave me an attitude and said he couldn't do anything to help. NEVER AGAIN!!!
