We used Iowa Moving 1 to transport our boxes and furnitures from our apartment to the rented truck. Along the way, one of our dressers was broken beyond repair because the mover placed it on his dolly and slammed it down the 3 flights of stairs. When I asked how that happened, he responded "it's cheap particle board" and "it's in our contract that these things happen". I don't care if it's cheap-it wasn't his to break. If he had anticipated that the dresser might be damaged, he should have let us know before he moved it. I moved all of that furniture into the apartment myself, 2 years prior, and I didn't break a single thing. I honestly feel that if he had responded with an apology, I wouldn't be as upset. Based upon his negligence, my husband and I decided it would be best if we carried the remaining particle board furniture down to the truck ourselves. They took $80 off the total price, even though the dresser was worth $120. I was very displeased and their negligence became even more evident when we met our movers down here in Florida and they treated both us and our furniture with 10x more respect than Iowa Moving 1. We were glad that Fred of Iowa Moving 1 was helpful though, and he arranged the truck nicely in the end.

We have used other moving companies in the past and Iowa Moving one is by far the best there is. I'm in the military and could not be there to help. So my wife and son had to do it all with the help of some amazing men. They played with are son and had been extremely nice to him, even though I'm sure he was kind in the way. They made my wife feel like we had known them for years and with having strangers move your personal things this is very important. My advice is to use this mover and you wont be disappointed...Worth every penny and then some.

Iowa Moving 1 has helped me move twice in the last 4 years. I will go back to them time and time again. The process is simple to get everything scheduled. Eric is very helpful and is an obvious expert in the field. Since this company provides moving labor only, you have to provide the truck and driver. It definitely cuts down on costs. They bring moving blankets, dollies, whatever you need for the move. For one of my moves, they were running late, but Eric called me multiple times, so that I was left waiting for their arrival and even offered to send extra help, so the move would go faster. I didn't choose to get extra help, because they're always SO fast! The movers themselves are hard workers and know what they're doing. In both my moves nothing was ever been broken or damaged. I would highly recommend Iowa Moving 1 for any moves you have in the future!

*I don't know why my Quality rating says 3, because I keep clicking on EXCELLENT* I've used Iowa Moving 1 two times now for "in-house" moves. Once they moved my piano and a couple other items to my basement, and the second time moved a VERY heavy curio cabinet and one other piece for me. The guys are very professional, clean cut and pleasant to work with......and quite strong! They were on time, even a little early one time, and were very careful with both the furniture and care to not damage any other part of the house while doing the moves. I'm impressed and will most certainly use them in the future if the need arises!

They were prompt in arriving on time and very helpful throughout my move! Excellent movers! They aren't college kids trying to make a buck, this is their living and they've been doing this for a long time. They took great care in my personal belongings and were very self directed in moving items to rooms that I wanted them to be moved into (end tables set up near beds that matched where they were in previous place, mattress set up on stand). They said that they wanted me ready to live in the new place by getting the bedrooms set up prior to leaving. Very kind movers and worth every penny!

Iowa Moving 1 has fantastic service with a great pricing structure (especially compared to their competitors). During our move, it was raining for 90% of the load and unload process, and the guys didn't complain once. They even laid down a mat in the house so they didn't track too much water and mud in. Fred and Byron were absolutely fantastic and extremely considerate movers. They were extremely careful with all of our belongings and were able to pack a 20 ft. truck masterfully. I would highly recommend Iowa Moving 1 for any of your moving needs.

Iowa Moving is easy to work with. If you are moving or need to have your belongings loaded onto a truck, Iowa Moving is who you want to work with. I was moving from Iowa to Minnesota and Iowa Moving came and loaded my Ryder truck and I drove it to Minnesota. The men they sent were wonderful. They were very friendly, came on time, they were careful with my belonging and were done in about 2.5 hours. I was stressed out because I waited to the last minute to secure a mover and was nervous I would not find anyone to load up the truck. Initially, I was told they probably couldn't but the owner was able to juggle a few things around and fit me in first thing in the morning. Anyway, when I found out they could load my truck, I was so excited and thankful and moreso at the caliber of individuals who came and overall, I was happy with the end result. Again, YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG HIRING Iowa Moving!!! Hire them now!

Had Patrick and Dylan help my girlfriend and I move her things out of her 3rd floor apartment into our new house. It was a hot day and I had a 26 foot truck, 3 flights of stairs to deal with and these guys killed it! They worked very fast, efficient and were super friendly! Couldn't have done it without them. Guys worked their tails off to get done ASAP, while still being careful with our furniture. They had to go up 2 flights of stairs to get some of my stuff in, and never once did they even balk at continuing to work hard. They arrived on time if not early, kept me informed throughout, put items where we requested (even when we got the furniture confused and they had to move again), and were all around pleasant to work with. I will absolutely be using these guys again the next time I move.

Fabulous company. Very professional and organized. Setting up the movers was easy and they called the day before to confirm. Moving day, the guys showed up on time. We had them for a 2 hour block of time. Up front with their start time and had a sheet we signed with the start time. They were polite and treated our items with respect. I didn't worry about items being broken. They packed our rented Uhaul very well! We got everything in one trip. I would recommend this company to anyone needing extra hands. These guys never took a break and they didn't smell like smoke. Extremely impressed and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Our family loves Iowa Moving 1!! They are AMAZING!!!! They have handled over 6 moves for various members of our family and Eric and his team always do a great job. They are on time, efficient, know what they are doing and are careful not to damage the furniture or the walls. This last move we really challenged them with a new 9' buffet that had to get down a flight of stairs that had a handing and a turn!! God bless Patrick and his team as this wasn't an easy task but they didn't give up until they had that 250 lb beautiful piece of furniture downstairs! Did I say it was NINE Feet!!!! Caige and Skyler were amazing! They worked VERY hard and fast, and were always pleasant. Several pieces of my furniture are extremely heavy, but they never complained...not even once...and the move went off without any damage whatsoever! Moving out of my apartment meant carrying furniture either up a flight of stairs or up a hill - they chose the hill, and moving into my condo meant moving everything up a flight a stairs. Even at that, the guys worked quickly, so the cost wasn't nearly as high as I had anticipated. Thanks Caige and Skyler, and thank you Iowa Moving 1.

We used Iowa Moving 1 to move a sofa, chair, and large tv console from our basement to the garage. We were very satisfied with the work that was done. The tv console was awkward for them to get out because of the tight stairway, but they did a great job not doing any damage to the walls. The movers were very polite and professional. The pricing was straightforward and reasonable. The final cost was the same as what I had been quoted when I emailed to set up the move. They were able to get the move scheduled quickly. We would definitely recommend and use this company again.

These guys are great and very professional. I'll start by saying I have moved several times because I am a military veteran, so I have experience with moving household goods. Three guys showed up, on time, to move goods from a third story 3-bedroom fully-loaded apartment (with no elevator) and storage to a house. These guys had excellent attitudes- nice, respectful, etc. They had my apartment unloaded in less than two hours. Not a single item was broken or missing...which is something you can't take for granted if you've moved enough. Also, the movers were good sized and could actually lift furniture- also something I've learned not to take for granted. And they showed up with the right tools for the job...such as dollys, padding, etc...again, something not all movers do. Overall, I would recommend this company over any in the central Iowa area.

We were making a short, 30 mile move. Hired a 3-man team for 4 hours to load and unload our U-Haul. The move team showed up right on time, ready to go. One of the team had called in sick, but the other two members stepped up big time. They had my 26' U-Haul loaded in an hour and a half. After the nearly 40 minute drive to our new home, they were able to have us completely unloaded and done right at the 4 hour mark. Plus, it was about 90 degrees that day. They were fast, friendly and super helpful! This was by far one of the smoothest, if not the smoothest move I have ever done! This is my second time using Iowa Moving 1 and they have been great both times. I highly recommend them.
