Hemmen Moving helped us with our move from Urbandale to Omaha recently. The three movers were very polite, hard working, and even joked with us. After unloading the moving truck, we were in a desperate situation, needed help unloading a small truck. All three kept a positive attitude, even though I am certain they were dead tired from unloading the semi trailer. Thank you to all of them, and to Hemmen Moving for a positive experience! This is a very stressful time, and they made it so much easier!

These movers from Hemmen Moving were professional, quick and answered lots of questions for me. Nothing was broken, everything was put where the box said they should go and they moved me with a ton of snow on the ground. The person who was to put together my new kitchen table no showed - so they did it. It only took them an hour and I happily paid the price for them to do it! There was a mileage charge, but it was minimal and worth it. Nathan and Travis did great work, and I recommend this company for your north Central Iowa moving needs.

We contracted Hemmen Moving to move us from Boone to Lincoln, Nebraska, and we were impressed with the whole experience. On the day of loading they arrived on time, but with a bigger trailer than we expected. We were not charged for the added trailer footage. It was also a rainy morning, but the crew worked fast and carefully to keep our furniture and our prepacked boxes dry. Couple days later the foreman and his Lincoln crew delivered on time swiftly and efficiently to our new home. They also navigated through some narrow streets to deliver our piano and snowblower to a daughter in Lincoln. Because they brought freight back to the Ames area, we received a discount on the final bill. They helped relieve some of the stress of moving. We would recommend them for any kind of moving jobs.

I can't say enough good things about Hemmen Moving! The 3 men were prompt, courteous & efficient on moving day. They had all my 'stuff" loaded in 3 hours, and unloaded in 3 hours. They took the mirrors off of dressers, took the beds apart, took the legs off the dining room table and put it all back together without a scratch or dent. I was very impressed! The charges were less than I expected, so again I was pleased. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks for a very pleasant moving experience.

Super disappointed especially after reading all the great reviews. I called to get a quote last week. Called not even 2 hours later to book them for our move and a lady answered and gave me the number of the guy that I had talked to previously. So I called his number and he said was busy and would call me back in 10 min. Never got a call back so I decided to call again at 430 before they closed, no one answered. Had to wait the weekend and called this morning and now they have that date booked. Just seems super unorganized and unprofessional.

I moved a few weeks ago and hired Hemmen Moving INC. I had a very satisfactory experience with this company. The price is more than reasonable, comparing to other moving company. The movers were professional and at the same time friendly. Hard working fellows. I asked them to keep the hours of service in between a certain range and sure they did. I would definitely recommend Hemmen's company to anyone looking for help with their move.

They knew what they were doing and went non-stop for the entire time. Price was reasonable, nothing was broken, service was extraordinary, and the movers were so pleasant. We selected Hemmen based upon other positive reviews, and also following a telephone discussion with Darren Hemmen. Darren was very open, addressing our questions with honest, straightforward answers. Darren and his team did not disappoint. Our communication back and forth was excellent. Darren helped us on the planning end, and demonstrated flexibility in finding a solution to our difficult-to-access home. The Iowa moving team was courteous, and showed much care in handling our furniture. Matthew proved to be a very effective field general, guiding the work safely and with efficiency. He stayed in touch with us during the days of transport and arrived at our new home on time. All of our belongings arrived in great shape - do damage. I would highly recommend Hemmen Moving INC as an honest and professional moving company.

This company is awesome; I moved from a 3 bedroom house to a senior citizen apartment; the move was effortless (oh yeah, except for all the downsizing). The scheduling gal explained everything in detail, and was very kind when I changed my move date. Pricing was just fine, and believe me, I shopped around for estimates. The movers were not only on time, which is a rare thing in any service industry, they were pleasant, kind, and fast. They didn't make a big deal about having to go up to an apartment by elevator, and did not break or lose a single thing. They even spoke to the landlord, before blocking the driveway at the apartment. I would not have thought that was necessary. Highly recommend!

Our move was in August. Our experience was very positive. The original bid was to include 4 movers with additional charges if more time was required. Only 3 movers came, but got us moved in the time allowed and the charge was less than the contract amount. Everything was handled professionally. No damage was done and all assemblies were done properly. Pleasant to work with.

Very well done! We had packed and moved everything in boxes the day before. Since we had done this we hired on the smallest semi truck. Initially the two man crew was nervous they'd not get everything into the truck--but they did! They got all the big, heavy, and clumsy stuff into the truck, moved across town, and then unloaded well within the time allotted. Nothing was broken and there were no major nor minor dings in our items. Moving is always hard on furniture but our team was very careful, packed and padded everything that needed it and carefully packed it in the truck. We are very happy with the job they did and pleased we called upon them to move us. Thanks guys!

You know who calls and emails you when you start working with this company? Darren HEMMEN. Not some customer service rep with scripted answers who have never actually physically been involved in moving anyone in their life. If that alone isn't enough to choose this company, they handled communicating with 3 people in our family across 2 states perfectly, didn't damage a thing, everything occurred at the times they promised with the 650 mile move and the lead guy handling our move (the driver) was personable and smart. The crew hustled loading / unloading so the labor cost was perfectly fair. We had a small snag, which turned out to be a non issue - one of the 3 loaders (contractor, not Hemmen employee) never showed up. The 2 guys were able to finish the job without a problem and we actually saved a little money with 2 men rate and a little longer time.

We moved from Fort Dodge to Iowa City and had Hemmen Moving referred to us by some friends. They were extremely easy to work with to set up the move and even after adding a refrigerator and freezer and a few other things their original estimate for the job was right on target. The guys that actually did the move were very friendly, professional and courteous.
