Unfortunately I have to agree with the Better Business Bureaus D- grade. Due to a lack of professionalism and helpfulness. I waited ALL day for their delivery which was arranged the day before via Lisa. She said the movers will be at your home between the hours of 1-4pm. When they didn't show up, and after not receiving a phone call regarding my delivery by 4pm, I called. I was told the delivery person tried to deliver the furniture twice to my home. A home where I have four dogs that bark at the wind, and four children in the house watching a movie. I was never met by a delivery person at my door, I would have known. I had a friend over and we were looking for the truck all day, as it was going to be quite a moving event, as the furniture was going on the roof top. I was told I would have to reschedule the delivery as the driver was heading home! I was later hung up on by Lisa after she had-had enough of my inquisitions regarding which house they went to, as it was not mine at 2pm with nobody home, as she insisted the driver told her. I had a crane waiting for the furniture to be lifted, and was VERY disappointed with their judgement calls. I was never called the day of the delivery or when the delivery person was "at my door" twice! Lisa said they didn't have my #, even though I was called numerous times on my cell and home phone the day prior to set up the delivery?? I am not impressed and hope to never have to deal with this company again.

I just wanted to drop a quick review for this amazing company! At first I had some trouble scheduling my IKEA order and became a tad bit frustrated. But once the delivery crew showed up all my worries were washed away! They were quick, careful, and efficient! A true triple threat! I would like to thank Trey and the other guy whose name I believe was Larry! As the manager of my company I would love to have two employees such as yourselves!

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. My husband rated them last week and I'm following up on the delivery. My husband called and they assured him last Friday that we would be their first delivery today (Monday 7/16/18)n which is 9am and there was absolutely no way they could have delivered last Friday because all of their trucks were full. It's now 11:13 and it just got delivered. They banged my door and walls with the boxes. The truck looked empty when they were taking my stuff out. And when they asked me where I wanted my boxes, I asked them what was in the boxes, as I had two pieces of furniture being delivered. He said he had no idea and when I asked if it said on the boxes, he said no. When I asked him again and said I had two things being delivered he could magically tell what was in the boxes by looking at one of the ends of the box. I said one stays upstairs and one goes downstairs. He told me that they weren't allowed to go up and down stairs for legal reasons. I have NEVER heard of a moving/reliever company not being able to go up and down stairs. Pretty sure that's their job.

Very smooth. Moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Shiloh, IL. Very good team on the pack end and unload end. Showed up in the window we were told, packed the TV’s and mattresses, and loaded complete. Delivered and unloaded the next day. No damages to either house or to furniture and items. This included moving a 26 gun safe up a flight of stairs. Great job well done.

Total incompetence and lack of customer service sums up my experience with Hawkeye Moving Sevices! My first order was in early November 2015, and they scheduled delivery on 12/22/15 after I called them. They didn't show, didn't call, and when I called after the end of the delivery window I found out they had lost the order. I reordered on 12/30, and they lost it again. I reordered on 1/19, told Home Depot and Non Stop Delivery, who contracts Hawkeye, that I needed delivery on my schedule after I had spent approximately 25 hours between waiting at home and making phone calls trying to get my cabinets. They refused and told me when you would deliver it, at their convenience, with a 30 minute call ahead. 30 minutes before the end of the delivery window I called, and was told the driver would call me with an ETA. At the end of the delivery window I called again and was told the same. 45 minutes after the end of the delivery window, I got home and found the cabinets in our driveway with snow in the boxes and frozen to the ground. Upon inspection, I found one of the cabinets was broken. They don't return repeated phone calls, they don't follow through on promises, and they don't make any attempts to accommodate customers that they have mistreated.

My family and I give our highest of recommendations to Hawkeye Moving Services! We hired Hawkeye to move our entire home this summer and our experience was TOP NOTCH! Everyone we dealt with at Hawkeye was wonderful; from the first call to their office, all the way through delivery of our last piece of furniture off of their truck. We were blown away by how professional, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable EVERYONE was. They followed through with every commitment promised; they were on time and even called us when they were on their way to our home the morning of our move! The guy that came out to our home to give us a quote was accurate (the pricing was a pleasant surprise as well!) and told us what to expect; our move coordinator responded to every silly little question we had via email and phone and they put our minds at ease. Our crew that actually moved us was AMAZING! Larry, Austin and Dom exceeded our expectations and my husband and I even joked that Larry might actually be Superman or something.... Holy impressive!! We recommend Hawkeye to everyone and we will only use Hawkeye in the future for any type of moving service that we need! Thank you, Hawkeye!!

Jennifer was great to work with and kept me informed of our delivery date and time. We were waiting on an order from Ikea. Drivers delivered on the advised day and during our 4 hour window. They called 30mins prior to arrival. Good experience overall

I recently had a small move (3000 lbs) from Iowa to Texas, and Hawkeye Moving Services (North American Van Lines) was responsible for the loading and logistics of the move. Robin was fantastic about keeping me appraised of cost and pick-up/drop-off times. The movers were professional and on-time. Nothing was broken or lost on delivery. I strongly recommend Hawkeye Moving Services for local or inter-state moves.

I recently made a purchase through Wayfair, which is an excellent online furniture store. They alerted me with an email explaining that my item would be delivered through a local moving service. I was given an expected time frame and told that I would receive a courtesy phone call 30 minutes before delivery. Maybe the two moving guys are new, but I did not receive a call but had seen an unmarked moving truck a little bit down the road. I hadn't thought anything of it as I had not received a courtesy call. It is about 30 minutes after my delivery window so I call this moving company to check where my package is. After waiting on hold, I am told they are unsure where it is. I decide to look on the other complete opposite end of my apartment. Low and behold, there is a massive package with my name on it. I call and am told that they did a standard delivery and delivered it to the address given. But, I know this is inaccurate as they did not delivery it to the apartment number, but left it in the middle of the apartment stairwell on the opposite end of the apartment blocking off part of the stairwell, which is a fire hazard. I know that the apartment number was given as I have ordered from Wayfair before and have not had issues with other moving companies they have used. I then asked if they could come back and delivery it to the correct address and was told no, they are now out of the area and cannot come back. Fortunately, I live in a wonderful apartment complex and went to the managers office, as I was worried about the location of the package and it being a fire hazard, and some of the maintenance men helped me carry the package to my address. I have written Wayfair of my complaint and have asked them to avoid this moving company in the future.

I would, without hesitation, NOT recommend this company. Unfortunately a lot of online furniture companies use Hawkeye Moving as a Third party delivery service and you don't get a choice in who delivers your online purchases. I purchased a daybed from Ikea and everything was going well until it came to dealing with the local delivery service (Hawkeye Moving). Jennifer left me a message that I could take delivery on Wednesday or Friday (10/11 or 10/13/17) when I called back to accept Wednesday she told me I could only have delivery on Friday. I told her I couldn't take any additional days off this week. I would need a day next week. I called Ikea to follow up with them, they said the shipping company should be scheduling deliveries based on when my schedule allowed. The next morning Jennifer from Hawkeye Moving called to tell me my delivery would be coming on Thursday. I told her again that I could not take another day off work and Thursday would not work for me. I told her again it would have to be next week if it had to be a weekday. She said (in a rather rude tone) that she would tell Ikea I refused delivery. I again called Ikea to follow up with them. They stated that STI, who subcontracts Hawkeye, would speak with the Hawkeye to try to sort out a date that works for me. Within 20 minutes I get a call from Jill, the general manager, asking how they can help me take this delivery. I said I could take weekend or it would have to be next week. I happened to mention that I had taken the day off work today because I was originally told delivery would be Wednesday. She jumped right on that and said she would be putting my order on a truck and sending it out to me today. Three and a half hours later, with no delivery and no follow up phone call I called Jill back. She stated that when she called Ikea to get approval for the additional charges for a same day delivery (she never once mentioned that before) they declined the additional charge ($500!?) and said to put the order on hold. Jill said Ikea told her they would contact me. I told Jill no one had called and that she had not mentioned the additional cost she said, "It wouldn't be professional for me to talk to you about money!" (Who do you think was going to end up paying that $500? Ikea? No, me and I'm the one you should have spoken to about it.) After getting off the phone with Jill I called Ikea again and they had NO notes in their system about this conversation with Jill. I went on to cancel my order, I have yet to be refunded for the product or the shipping cost. I have learned a valuable lesson about buying online and will be purchasing from a local business in the future. I don't want anything from Hawkeye Moving other than an apology for wasting my time and causing me stress. I want them to improve in the future. I want the BBB to see a pattern in the complaints from people living just outside the Iowa City/Coralville area (check Google for more complaints) and rate them accordingly.

Wow! What more can I say? These two wonderful young men Larry and Troy went above and beyond to exceed my mother and I's expectations! Very Professional and polite. But here's the kicker. The delivery was scheduled under my mother's name and address. Larry and Troy arrived a few minutes before myself and that would prove to be the difference between life and death. My mother suffered from a terrible fall and was immobilized and helpless at the bottom of the steps. Larry did not hesitate to smash the window to answer the crys of help from my mother. And Troy was quick to dial 911 to provide emergency assistance for her aswell. And this is when things get crazy...... the ambulance was experiencing delays due to construction on a broken water main. So in the meantime Troy constructed a make shift splint out of 2 wooden spatulas and some duct tape and they continued to wait by her side until paramedics arrived. Once they did, Larry carried my mother to the safety of the professionals but if you ask me there are few people more professional than Larry and Troy. These two embody the perfect example of an employee and a human being. These two guys, Larry and Troy, are the face of the company. I apologize for the length of this review but their story needed to be told! They are truly inspirational!

Worst than Fair. They are very unprofessional. They Lost my appliances then called saying they could deliver them 3 days after finding them. They then set up a time to deliver them between 12-2 but didn't show up. I still do not have my items. Worst customer service ever. They are not on time and they do not provide 'moving' services you paid them for!

Very very stupid company. They’ll end up giving you an high rate in the beginning. And once they drop it off they increase the price even more. Which isn’t less, but it’s straight $2,000 your paying more. They cheat with you. And not just that but they have so much horrible customer service that the dumb driver won’t answer your phone. And they don’t care they will literally leave your stuff on the streets, in a unknown place. Which isn’t good. Don’t ever use this company. If you ever will you will totally stress out and waste time and money, which is a lot.

Worst service ever. I got a call on a Thursday saying the delivery would be between 10:30 and 12:30 on Monday morning and I would be called 30 minutes ahead. Next, I got a call at 8:13 am on delivery day saying they would be there at 8:20. I did not receive a call 30 minutes ahead and the window of delivery was not even close to what they scheduled. When I called the office they told me the woman that made the schedule was on vacation. No apology. Lowest level of service possible.

Horrible Company!! They don’t Deserve a One Star! They Received my hot tub last week. I called to set up a delivery time for I was hoping Friday but had to take Monday. I Obviously had to take the entire day off as they have a four hour window to deliver. I hired An electrician for today and another moving company to move my hot tub from the driveway to the backyard. I get a call around 9 Saying they can’t deliver today as they have no license driver! Are you serious You do not have a licensed driver? Then They don’t even know when they can deliver it! On the phone with Costco now! Thanks for the awesome service! Not! I Highly recommend going anywhere but here....
