Unfortunately the customer service provided by Finnemore-Harris Moving was not excellent. We originally contacted them for our move from Des Moines to the Johnston area. We needed our things stored for a couple of weeks in between moving out of our old home and into our new, so they seemed like a great choice. However, the problems started almost immediately.
Originally we worked with a gentlemen named Matt. Part of the reason we chose to work with this company is because they tell you they will provide boxes. We were told we would have boxes by the weekend in order to start packing. I texted Matt on Thursday asking when the boxes could be dropped off. I received no response. I followed up with him on Saturday and was told he wasn't able to provide boxes until the following week. Fortunately Tom was able to drop boxes off that Sunday after my husband called the company's direct number.
Once the boxes were dropped off, we realized no wardrobe boxes were provided as we were told they would be. We followed up with Matt who once again and he said he would bring some by the following day. Long story short, this went on for several days with him never showing up when he said he would. Finally he said he did not have boxes and we had to buy them ourselves. Which was fine, but we could have had them several days before if he had let us know that in the beginning.
The actual day of our move went ok. However after moving into our new home, we realized in the process of moving our fridge, they broke the plug. Once again we contacted Matt who said he would fix the fridge the following day. Again he did not show up to fix it at the agreed upon time.. We had to follow up with him to find out he wasn't going to make it. After 3-4 days of this we contacted Tom. Tom did come out and move the fridge into our house, but without fixing the plug. This was on a Saturday. He said he would be back that same day to repair it. He did not make it back that day or the following day. On Monday, he contacted us to let us know he couldn't fix it until Thursday. We had a non-working fridge sitting in our kitchen for over a week because they did not return to fix it.
Needless to say, I would not recommend this company. The guys they hire to help do the moving are very nice and pleasant, but the customer service is very frustrating and unreliable.
