This was the Best Interstate Move that we have ever experienced. Everyone we came in contact with was professional, courteous, on time, and they took great care of our belongings. Our Sales Person suggested a few ways we could pack differently to save a few dollars. We packed everything except TV's, fine art, glassware and garage items. The Packers were awesome...not one broken item. The loaders and driver John, we're so professional, both at origin and destination. I will use Bekins again, no question, on our next move. I won't even bother getting other quotes!

They were one of four I received quotes from for our 2,300 mile move. The sales rep was knowledgeable and honest. The packers took amazing care of our belongings. The driver helped load, knew how we wanted the new house set up. He stayed in touch with us as he neared the drop off, which he reached a day earlier then estimated. The driver was very professional and directed the drop off operation smoothly. Our items were in good condition and not a wall scrape moving in. Only surprise was empty box pick up was an additional charge but a Bekins representative arranged for a third party pick up at a cost of $150. All in all they provided solid value, and treated my family well.

I recently used Bekins Van Lines for a cross country move from Seattle WA to Orlando FL. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend Bekins for your next move. The estimator from Bekins Northwest was very professional, timely and answered all our questions. He offered a comprehensive estimate including options for storage just in case our Orlando home was not ready at the time of arrival. The Bekins driver managed the loading process in Seattle and provided his contact information before leaving. He provided at least two updates while in transit and communications on the delivery was outstanding. Because he managed the loading, he was also very familiar with set-up requirements for several pieces of furniture that required assembly. Overall the packing and delivery crews were excellent. My only complaint was one of the packers did a substandard job on several boxes that caused damage. Every other aspect of Bekins service was excellent and more than outweighed this one issue. Bekins was also very supportive and timely in processing the damage claim. I would highly recommend Bekins for your next move.

This was our 4th cross country move. We used bekins the other times so we called them again for this move. Unfortunately this was a completely different experience. I have no idea what happened to this company, but I would stay as far away as possible. They subcontracted our packing and loading services to a really shady company (sav on moving and storage). I won't go into detail about how awful this was, but let's say that if I had a choice I would have fired them, but because we were moving on a deadline I felt I had no choice but to use them. Our things were stored in a warehouse for almost 2 weeks and finally arrived 9 days after the final date of their "window." There were lots of excuses, but the people I talked to at customer service didn't really seem to care. I was just another number. Some of our belongings never made it to us, many were damaged. One example was our king mattress. The driver said upon arrival, "Sorry about two of your mattresses. I went through some heavy rain and I forgot to close the bay door all the way so they have water damage." Seriously!? He couldn't have told us that the day he noticed they were damaged so we could go get another mattress? Then the driver handed me some loose golf clubs and said, "Here, these fell out of the bag." I told him they weren't my clubs and he said, with a laugh, "They are now." Ugh, I am even more disgusted as I write this. This whole experience was a complete disaster. For those of you wondering if you should hire bekins or another company, do yourself a favor and hire another company. They have changed, and the change is worse than I could have imagined.

We got his information so if we moved again we would call him (Josh) to do our move. Yes, we moved again and back to Indiana and we called Josh. He is a caring driver and careful loader treating our household goods like his own! When we called him to do our move he was working for Bekins. This was a "win-win" deal!. I have used Bekins/Boerman's (Woodridge Illinois) van lines twice, and I can highly recommend same. Flexible scheduling, and fast, professional service. I DID see a lot of negative reviews about pricing changes on other websites, but that's because people chose to use the online estimating tool, which is not very precise, rather than the free in home estimator. My estimator, Mr. Joe Hagemaster, was kind, courteous, and professional when he visited my home, and his estimate was dead on, so I knew EXACTLY how much I was paying, and not a penny more. Mr. Hagemaster even suggested ways in which I could save money on my move. My second move was from Illinois to Arkansas, and I chose to have Bekins carry not only my household goods, but my brand new pristine Jeep Renegade, and they delivered everything in a timely fashion, and without a mark on my Jeep!! Bekins/Boerman's Van lines (and their VERY professional drivers and work people) saved me so much stress and worry, and made what was a huge move into a mere trifle!! I can't thank them enough!! :D

We hired Bekins Van Lines to move us 1,100 miles, from Chicago to Austin, TX. From the moment we met with their representative, we knew it was a professional operation. I required an onsite estimate to ensure our move expenses were accurate up front. Cost and insurance was communicated clearly, the local Chicago team who packed up our home was professional, and the driver kept us informed on progress and delivery time. When our belongings showed up in TX (on time), our driver provided an inventory sheet which provided descriptions of items along with the corresponding inventory sticker numbers. As items were moved in from the truck, the numbers were read off to me as I checked them off. ALL of our belongs arrived safe and intact. I did not have to make a claim. The experience could not have been better.

Complex split move from PA; part to MA (with 3 delivery locations) and FL (during Hurricane Dorian!). Pick up for both deliveries was on-time, and delivery was on-time. In fact, FL delivery arrived 1 day early since additional load on truck could not be received by recipient delayed by storm. Driver and assistants were professional, competent, and friendly. Once I had Contact Information for Driver, communication was a breeze with updates, etc. No problem with move-in. Minor damage to metal file cabinet. Otherwise excellent, including piano and 7 ft. tall armoires. Only suggestion, local agent should should provide "after-hours" contact information to customer. It was challenging to get in contact with Driver on 1st leg and necessary to get to Wheaton Traffic Department After Hours .Would recommend highly to others.

We moved from eastern MA to the San Francisco Bay Area. The local Bekins agent, Liberty Movers in MA began our experience - they were prompt and professional with the estimate and packing of fragile items on the MA end, and monitored our move from start to finish on top of that done by the Bekins X-C team. They also facilitated the connection to a company to transport our 2 cars on a carrier, and followed up on that process as well. The Bekins team that loaded us was also confidence-inspiring. They were very careful to not damage anything, including our home - they used pads everywhere and covered our floors and carpets. The driver and his XC companion oversaw the move on both ends and were efficient and courteous. The unload team in Oakland were, as was the loading team in MA, friendly, helpful and efficient. We would definitely recommend Bekins to anyone making a local or long-distance move.

We moved from Eugene, OR to Meridian, ID. The move was complicated by a prompt exit from Eugene to a possession delay in Meridian. The local dealer for Bekins was Cross Town Movers. They provided loading, storage and transportation to Idaho. Everything moved according to plan and completely met our needs. The unloading crew was right on time in Meridian. (Cross Town went above and beyond to confirm delivery times a week before.) We were pleased with their service: Josiah provided the very accurate estimate, the thorough packing and storage by the staff at Cross Town, and delivery in Meridian. Don't deal with the national company, a representative e-mailed me and said she was my move specialist, but then took 1-2 days to return phone calls and did not know what was going on. Just deal with your local broker, they are the ones that provided outstanding service. My stuff arrived within the time window they gave me and in great condition. They disassembled beds, tables etc. and reassembled at destination. Would recommend Bekins for a cross country move.

The worst moving experience of my life. On pick up they showed up late. They didn’t know what they were doing and thought it would be ok to sit on my furniture in their dirty work clothes. Two of the three workers actually worked. To top things off they were three days late to delivering our items. Many of our items were damaged. It’s been three months and I’m still waiting to hear back from the company. My wife and I wrote a long email and have heard nothing. We are still waiting for them to fix our bed set. I was in contact with someone but apparently he decides bringing us two bolts is above him. The only positive thing I have to say and the only reason they get two stars is because the crew that delivered our items made up for a lot. If it wasn’t for the delivery crew I was going to call my credit card company and have them decline payment. I can not believe a company this large and who have been in business for so long think it’s ok to sent us a check for $250 bucks and sneakily put on the back if we cash it then they have no more responsibility to our damaged items. I shouldn’t have to chase down a company to see if they got an email that clearly states the damages they caused and items missing but I guess I will. I wish I would have just used a Uhaul.

Hello to the Internet world! My Bekin's experience of my cross country move was excellent. Towfiq, the driver, had excellent crews both packing and moving. One tiny teeny quibble: In the interests of efficiency, the packers combined some smaller boxes. Now I cannot find the box labeled "wedding skirt" which had the outfit I planned to wear to my son's wedding! 9,000 pounds, 365 labeled boxes, pages and pages of single-spaced inventory to search..... Wedding is September, guess this is incentive to truly unpack.

RE: ITS GLOBAL in Portland, Oregon - they are phenomenal! From their Packers (female - much more careful, but fast!), to their movers. Extremely careful with my belongings! However, I had difficulty with the Dispatcher and Accounting. I questioned them about charges that didn't make sense to me, because I drove a Tractor Trailers for 20 years - and I know a lot of the games played in Transportation. They didn't LIKE being questioned about confusing surcharges (easy to manipulate those), they wanted their Driver to take the long route around, costing me hours more in fees, etc. Two to Three months AFTER I moved, I got an invoice in the mail for an additional $165 - no previous call, no explanation - just an invoice in the mail. I felt they were taking financial advantage, so I called Bekins Executive offices, went through two Reps (the first one retired, so I got dropped through the cracks), the second one NEVER returned calls, and after WEEKS of calling, this Rep at Bekins accidentally answered his phone when I called. He was rude, dismissive, and I felt, pretty nasty and had an "I could care less attitude" toward me. I KNOW about "Fuel Surcharges" (how these can be manipulated) - cheating on Distances, etc., and because I questioned the Dispatcher, all of a sudden I owed $165 2-3 months later? Coincidence? I doubt it. I've used Bekins for years, having them pack me, move me - always extremely. Thank goodness I'm 65 years old, retired and plan on DYING in this house and never have to move again!!

The representative from our local Bekins office was very thorough when he estimated our move. His estimate was a little higher than others that we talked with but he was very detailed with his estimate as the others just hit the highlights and therefore had a lower estimate. You have to remember that when moving the final bill is what is important and if a mover lowballs the estimate you will still have to pay whatever the charges are, not the original estimate. We believed the Bekins estimate due to the detail data which went into it. Bekins was very timely and loaded and unloaded us when they said they would. The driver and packers handled all our belongings very carefully. We would certainly recommend them for anyone's move.

We had an excellent experience with Bekins from the estimate through the final delivery. Our rep did a careful walk through of the house to create a realistic estimate. He included crating for a valuable piece. We chose Bekins because we had confidence based on the rep and because they were less expensive than two other bids. We included packing, and the packing team did a great job. They were efficient, careful, and labeled the boxes by room and general contents. The loaders were also good. It was pretty amazing to see all our furniture wrapped in pads and covered in plastic -- but it was worth the trouble because it all arrived in perfect condition. Our driver worked with the loaders at the front end and with the unloading crew at the back end. The load arrived at the time it was expected, the crew did a super job of unloading and unwrapping. Our driver helped get everything set up for us. The whole experience was as painless as a move could possibly be. I would recommend Bekins to anyone who asked. I can't imagine what they could have done better.

Never used a mover before. Bekins made the move so much easier than I thought it could be.They loaded our whole house in about 6 hours. It was delivered on time in another state. Mike and his crew both in Florida and in S. Carolina worked hard, rapidly and they were polite . The price of the move was less than all the other movers we received quotes from. Cross country move from Elgin, IL to Colorado was unsatisfactory. The good news is we got our belongings moved. The local company's loading in Illinois was fine, and were told our household goods were being loaded into crates which would then be transferred to climate-controlled storage with the local moving company, and then when we were ready to receive it in Colorado they would load the crates onto trucks and Bekins would drive our stuff to Colorado and deliver it to our new home. Upon unloading in Colorado it became apparent that our belongings were unpacked from the initial crates and rammed into space smaller than needed with resulting broken chair and bed rails, crushed boxes (about half of our boxes were crushed), and most annoying, EVERYTHING that could be taken apart was taken apart, and only about half of it was reassembled at our new house. We are left with a box of "parts" that we have no idea what they go to because we did not take things apart! Incredibly, they took the beater bar off the bottom of our upright vacuum (what space would that save?), and put it back on backwards -- so when I used it at my new house the belt kept falling off until I realized what had happened! I would not use them again for a cross-country move.

I used Bekins Van Lines due to my sister (Bekins moved her from old house to new house) and my niece (Bekins moved her from one state to another state) who highly recommended them. They were not the cheapest bid I received but you pay for what you get. They were all pleasant from start to finish. Andy is the person I dealt with and he's the most nicest, pleasant man you would ever want to meet/conduct business with. Bekins workers packed up my daughter's storage unit and moved her belongings from St. Louis to California. They too were very pleasant with me, my husband, and each other. I highly recommend Bekins Van Lines if you would like good people moving you. You pay for what you get and there is nothing negative I can say about this company. They are the BEST!!!!!

Bekins Van Lines recently completed a move for me from Seattle to Atlanta. The crew at origin was on time, professional, courteous and finished packing and loading in less time than estimated. The driver and helper at destination were there exactly on time. They were professional, courteous and hard working. It was 92 degrees the day they unloaded and hauled my belongings up the hill to their final resting place. Nothing was broken or missing!!!! My fiancé and I moved from the Sacramento area of California to Tallahassee, Florida the end of 2018 / beginning of 2019. Taggert Glithero, with Bekins, came to give the estimate. He was thorough and detailed, asking if we had a box for the TV, and if we wanted it packedby them or by The Geek Squad at Best Buy, where we had recently purchased the TV. We decided to have Bekins pack it. Taggert gave us a not-to-exceed binding estimate, and the actual charges came in lower than he had anticipated. The movers arrived on the appointed date and packed everything for us, as we had already left the area. My fiance’s daughter oversaw the packing. Since we only had a partial load, BekIns stored everything until a truck was available. The driver kept us appraised of his progress, arrived when he said he would, and unloaded and assembled everything they had taken apart. They protected the walls and doorways during this entire process. Everyone we interacted with at Bekins was knowledgeable, friendly and competent. Everything arrived safely. In addition, I would like to add that my fiance’s daughter is a real estate agent in the Sacramento area, and her office recommends Bekins. Thank you all for a job well done.

We moved cross country from WA to GA. The person who came and gave the estimate was very thorough and we had A LOT of stuff, including two 4-wheelers and a Harley. We actually ended up a bit below his estimate, which was a great surprise. The crew who loaded our stuff did a great job and on arrival the unloading crew also did an excellent job. The driver we had was very knowledgeable and managed the crew well. How he got that semi into our new neighborhood we don't know, but he did and saved us from having to do a shuttle unload! Our contact person at Bekins (Penny) was very friendly and kept us informed the entire time. If Bekins Northwest can be the official movers for the Seattle Seahawks, they can move our stuff any time! We would definitely use them again for any large and/or long distance move in the future.

The movers packed and loaded the truck in about 6 hours- they took care on anything with glass- we had a couple of glass door shelving units which they covered in cardboard, wrapped with moving pads and secured everything with large "rubber bands"- they packages all the mirrors and labeled them in box- everything went very smooth- we put all our furniture etc in storage- they arrived on time and unload everything- in about the same time- they were very accommodating for packing our stuff in a particular order- This was the 1st time i used a mover and was very pleased in their professional and caring manor- i would reccommend them to anyone planning a long distance move

But the Bekins team were able to coordinate with the folks where my stuff was, get it crated and packed up, and driven down to me in no time! Smooth move. Packers were on time and did a nice job except for labelling, which they mostly did, but incompletely. Everything well protected and done efficiently. Same on delivery end. Good, careful staff, very little breakage. Again, on time and quick. We didn't pay to unpack and maybe should have. We have acres of wrapping paper and cardboard to dispose of. I recommend reading "The Long Haul" by Finn Murphy so that you have an idea what to expect and what the movers are thinking as they handle your 'stuff'. Local staff coming out of NY was Maffucci Moving from New Jersey. Came in a smallish truck and transferred load to Bekins. Bekins Driver at destination and local crew in South Carolina.

We chose Bekins from several companies interviewed to move from NM to VA. Max, the representative, was wonderful, friendly, helpful. The woman who helped with packing and cleaning was also very friendly and helpful. That was the best part of the experience. The rest of the experience with Bekins has been negative and continues to be. It hasn't ended yet. When the crew arrived, we were told that the two families before us had more to load than the estimate and they were sure that there wouldn't be enough room for our goods. Instead of calling another truck then, they tried to stuff everything in, which resulted in damaged boxes and broken items in that load. As they said, not everything fit in so we had to wait a couple hours for the next truck with a crew of only two. It took them quite a while to load the remaining goods. Items were dropped. We're unsure if anything is broken yet because we're still waiting for that load... going into 3 weeks now. Despite various promises, we're still not really sure where that load is. I'm told over and over that the "Leave Over" load is not guaranteed and there is really no recourse for us at this point. Our boxes and items have been handled multiple times. They were not handled carefully (dropped, knobs broken, etc.) when we were there so we're not confident they have been handled carefully when we have not been there to watch. When the first part of our goods were delivered, the crew was rude, complaining about unloading and more. They did not protect our carpet properly and they left a mess in the bathroom as well. To say we're frustrated is an understatement. I have remained calm and respectful through the entire process. Today, in yet another phone call, after expressing frustration (again in a respectful manner), I asked to speak to a supervisor. The corporate representative said he would pass on the message and then hung up on me. I still have not received a call from the supervisor. Customer care does not seem to be a big concern. At this time, I cannot recommend Bekins for any move, near or far.

Not only did they get it done ahead of schedule but it cost $800 LESS than the estimate. The Bekins driver who delivered the furniture and the local helper in Albuquerque were both very professional and helpful and not only delivered everything safe and sound but helped set up the bed and my heavy TV. Communication was good and polite with sales, follow-up and actual delivery guys were quite good. Some things were damaged when delivered, but nothing of great expense. THE worst thing was that our wood floor was gouged by screw that came loose on bottom of oversized chair and then slid into place. We cannot repair that so devalues our condo value somewhat or gives potential buyer something to dislike. But overall experience was fine. I give 4 Stars because there was no lazy or intentional disregard for our property; just some consequential damage.
