I go in there after leaving from another store with the bag in my hand to get a box of grits but before I was go get buy it from there I look at another store near there to compare the prices so I choose to go to the other store and as I'm leaving out a security guard comes to me talking the ppl on the cameras saw you walk in with your bag and stopped and looked and didn't buy nothing I say so what I saw what I wanted for a cheaper price somewhere else he say let me what's in your bag i say you want to see my receipt also then say next time you have to check your bag i walk out smh @ that bs l! Nobody has to do so why do I got to do it I always come in there and never had a problem ever and i am not a thief and I aint appreciate that bs that was pulled on me at I'm go be waiting for somebody from this place to respond to me about this! That was very uncalled for overall!

As an out of Towner from Western NY. Pete's felt similar to a mix of Tops and Wegmans. Cheaper than buying some items in or around the Chicago loop. Nice selection of produce, and meats. Will be coming back.

What happened ?Terrible long checkout lines between 11 and 1 for weeks now..Did they cut front end staff? Today another checkout mishap on top of very long lines .No one could find the prices for items for the customer in front of me at checkout. No management coming to the rescue.So for the second time in 2 weeks I had to leave my items on the counter and leave.I waited15 min in line and no progress was being made.Guy behind me abandoned his cart and walked out too. Not going to be my regular stop anymore .Too many faster options along my work route .I will try you again in the future Pete's .

The young lady at the bakery was rude. We were there to get a cake for a loved one about 30 minutes ago (March 23, 2019 @ 8:30pm). My daughter asked her a simple question about a cake and then asked if she could write something on the cake, the young lady answer back with an attitude. It was a simple saying also... I blame myself also for not catching it before leaving, she misspelled a simple word. . Oh well, definitely not going back to the bakery at this Pete’s, not worth the headache.

Don't buy food that's already cooked after 6:00 pm. My daughter and I went there because we were HUNGRY but NOT HUNGRY ENOUGH! The food looked like it had been there FOR AWHILE! If they're going to do that, they SHOULD CLEAN UP AROUND THE TRAYS. It might have tasted good but LOOKED ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!

the meat selection is limited, the grocerys are a little pricier than lucky's on fulton and masonic. I must admit that the layout is nicer, though. I would give this place 2 stars, but they are open 24 hours- +1 star.

I purchased items off their salad bar and they tasted funny, like a chemical had been sprayed on the food. I thought it was me, so I asked someone else to confirm, they immediately threw up!!!! I called the manager to complain and request my money, I didn't save my receipt and was told I had no case....I won't eat here ever again.

I stopped at the bakery the lady was very nice. Place is clean and their is a lot of parking. They have a nice selection of groceries. They also sell alcohol. Their was a wait to pay only tree cashiers where available. Great sales and the floral section had a beautiful selection of fresh flowers.

The cashiers and baggers are kind of pregidice with who they want to accomodate. I was in line being rung out (only black person in line pregnant) the Hispanic male moved to assist someone else that had less items and when done just stood around. While talking with other co-workers and just avoided looking my way. I felt really disrespected and discriminated against after saying can someone help me lift and bag my items.

Just another awesome visit. $7.99 hot food bar is the best. Grilled salmon is a must if you indulge in seafood. This new spicy fried chicken messed my diet up. But lamb, beef brisket bourbon chicken mac and cheese Jamaican style shrimp rice. Orange juice 2 for 5 bucks for the gallon. New is the self serve food bar. No more waiting and get exactly the peices you want. Awesome idea and great food selection.

I love that they have a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. I also really appreciate that they carry Boar's Head in their deli and that deli meat is cut fresh every time. However, I'm very irritated by there bag policy. I shopped there frequently and I spent upwards of $200 to $300 every time I was there. Now if I bring in 1 cloth bag they give me $0.05 off of my total purchase. If I bring in 7 cloth bags, they gave me $0.05 off of my total purchase. Then they have the nerve to charge $0.07 for each plastic bag that is used. I talked to a manager and he told me that the store policy is five cents off of the total transaction regardless of how many cloth bags are brought in. He went on then to say that if I "shopped there more often" the "maybe" they would be able to give me a better discount. Keep in mind this was said to me after I just spent $300 and had 10 (large) cloth grocery bags!! There are far too many grocery stores in Chicago for Pete's to be stingy over $0.50. I shopped there often enough and I spent enough money that $0.50 should not be a big deal. However I believe in common-sense-based principles, so I will be shopping at Mariano's from now on.

Amazing quality, selections and staff! Never in all of my visits seen anything out of place this store is VERY organized and the produce area is ALWAYS neat, uniformed and FRESH! I'm never disappointed when going to this store. The bakery is wonderful and always offering new items nothing is ever the same and the quality is always reminiscent of home-baked! Sadly I'm never spend too much time in this store because everything is neatly laid out and every aisle is so neat and organized, makes for a better shopping experience.

Today we shopped at Pete’s and spent well over $100 on groceries. Unfortunately as we were leaving the jar of gardener peppers fell from the cart to the floor in the store. The glass jar broke. We had to buy another jar ($2.99) because the manager wouldn’t give us a replacement. According to him the jar was ours since we had paid for it and it was no longer the property if Pete’s! WOW what great customer service! Can’t believe Pete’s wouldn’t replace a $2.99 jar!ill have to take my money somewhere else.

One of my favorite grocery stores in the city. They have an incredibly vast selection of produce and meats. It always seems like they have a sale going on. I have been disappointed a handful of times by trying to find a specific canned or packaged product but otherwise this place never disappoints.

Awesome grocery store. Lots of variety, but it is on the more expensive side. I highly recomend their seafood salads, but do not recomend their "fresh salsas" from the hot food section. I've found hair in those before. Only the salsa though, nothing else. I think its a third party vendor. The food from Pete's is fine though.

Okay Pete's Fresh Market I used to go in there stop and get some food to eat amongst grocery shopping also they always have free samples you can stop in get some chips and salsa or they have some guacamole and chips no for a supermarket there a little pricey with some stuff but usually I go in and they have decent deals on Meats or like I said if you want a bite to eat and get yourself some tacos or they have chicken fish or a salad bar pretty much a whole Buffet area they even have soups but I get a torta which is a sandwich with fried steak cheese beans lettuce tomato I'm sorry cream pretty awesome stop and grab yourself a bite today

A good range of selection for groceries but most are Latinx products with some American and other imported goods. I came here for the hot food which has a lot to select. I was gonna go with the pizza but the other options looked good. But it's expensive 8$ per pound. Some of the hot food stands out over others. The pasta was OK at best, I don't recommend it. The BBQ rib tips where tasty but had a lot of fat on them. Bottom line this place is good for a quick bite just be careful on what you pick some of it might not be worth the price.

They had t-bone steaks on sale. They had cut the tender small side of the steak off. A doller or 2 off a pound for half a t-bone with the best part cut off. Plus there bar was 8.99 a pound for all but 4 or five items. Pasta is cheap so is salad. Those things off set more expensive things. So why jack the prices on the 4 or 5 items but not lower the price on the low cost items. Full price on thing in the deli that were expiring the same day. Store was clean people were nice. Just bad business the way it was managed.

I love you can go here for just about any and everything. There hot bar is very awesomely cool. I love the lamb chops, banana pudding and the salmon dinner meal located at the pre cooked meals section by the deli. The meat is fresh, lined are never long and the employees are very helpful. The store is very clean and you can definitely sit in Pete's and enjoy your meal.

This Pete's is always stocked. They have pretty good service at the hot bar but their cashiers typically have a bad attitude and if you're not Spanish speaking then they get frustrated easily over the slightest question. Overall this is the best Pete's in the city

I am new to the area and have been shopping here the past week. Today I was walking to the park when I stopped here to use the bathroom. Their main bathroom is under construction. I asked the manager if I can use the bathroom and he started asking me a brunch of questions to verify I was a costumer. He said that if I was truly a costumer I should know where the bathrooms are. He continued to be rude and did not show me where the temporary bathrooms are. I am so disappointed because I really liked this store but now I feel uncomfortable supporting a business that treats their costumers this badly.
