Communication with the moving representative (Frances) was very good. She was kind, helpful and wise. The moving companies (pick up and drop off) did well. Our book shelf was destroyed in the move (no explanation). Pricing was competitive for the current market rate. The time window (2 weeks) of when your items would arrive is a challenge to manage and balance. Overall, the people involved (across the board) were nice, personable and accessible.

Please check Yelp reviews for this mover too--far more negative reviews than here on Google. I’ve made five previous cross country moves, so you’d think I’d know what I was doing, right? Ah, but that was before I met MiniMoves. I made the MONUMENTAL mistake of hiring them for my sixth (and hands down, worst) move. Some of it is my own fault. So I want to make clear what they don’t: MiniMoves CHARGES BY NUMBER OF ITEMS NOT WEIGHT, AS MOST OTHER LONG DISTANCE MOVERS DO. Please be VERY aware of this. I was rushing, I signed everything, seeing what I wanted to see...that they were the same as everyone else (they proudly claim that they have “no minimum weight requirement” for their moves. Right, because they don’t charge by weight). What did that mean to me? I had a solid quote from a national moving company, $3,800, came to my home and looked at everything. Included 100% reimbursement for damaged items. Probably would have been about $4,000 when I added in a small sofa I have. This was in line with what I’ve paid in the past, made sense. But the local affiliate’s reviews online were awful. I had a higher quote from MiniMoves, but since the Minimoves quote was done by phone (which EVERY article about long-distance moves says NOT to do by the way), I figured the weight would be closer to the other estimate even out the pricing. Oh wait, Minimoves doesn’t charge like other long distance movers. At the point I was looking their reviews looked good---since the first of the year I’ve seen a decidedly downward trend. Too late to help me unfortunately. So what did I pay for MiniMoves to move my two bedroom condo from Colorado to Massachusetts? SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. That’s right $6,000, when I could have paid $4,000. For a TWO BEDROOM CONDO. I don’t have that much stuff. And that included the mandatory bare-minimum insurance. Did I pay for better service? God no, the service was horrible. No proactive communication whatsoever. It took just over two weeks for my stuff to get here. I had to call and e-mail multiple times to find out what was going on before and after pick up. They’re all very pleasant mind you, they’re just not great at actually getting things done. Did I pay to make sure everything got here in one piece? Nope. Sofa has one corner that is filthy and torn, and it’s missing a leg. Leather recliner has one leg off, they just wrapped that up with the chair. One-year-old small sleeper from IKEA is filthy, and the back is all warped. Boxes are crushed. Dining room cabinet has two scratched legs. (My stuff is in storage until I move into the condo I'm buying. I have exactly two things to sit on in my living room...each are now missing a leg thanks to MiniMoves). MiniMoves uses local movers to load and unload. No earthly idea what happened to it in between. Even the local movers were horrified by what they saw when they were delivering to me. So bottomline please, PLEASE think twice before using this company. If you hate all your stuff and secretly want a reason to get rid of it...and you want to pay a 50% premium to have it ruined, then by all means, use MiniMoves. But if not...you might want to look at other options.

Amazingly easy company to work with. Once we determined how many packages would be moved they were able to set me up to be moved easily. The movers showed up at my house early and were able to get everything packed into the truck fast, due to that they were also able to get my items sent from NY to AZ faster than expected. All items were protected very well, and loaded into my new apartment quickly and professionally. I was kept appraised of the details every step of the way via phone calls and emails.

Horrible service, endless apologies but no turnaround. Not over yet! Move from Rochester, NY to Voorhees, NJ. Legal binding agreement of loading between 6/26 - 6/29 and delivery between 7/6 - 7/16. Paid full invoice amount well before time. Experience at the time of loading: Local Service provider in Rochester (Clarke/Mayoflower) calls a day before on 7/26 to commit to picking up stuff at 12 noon on 7/27. No show/no calls until 3 PM on 7/27. More than 50 calls to local service provider and Minimoves after that so movers finally shows up at 6 PM, neither of the entity was concerned to notify customer of delay and local service provider at one point stopped taking calls. Well we were able to ship out hoping that delivery experience would be better but to our horror it was even worse. Experience on delivery: Daily calls from 7/6 to get a date on when they would be delivering so we can plan our other schedule around it given moving is taxing. Woddy's local service provider for mini-moves in Philly confirms from 7/11 delivery, stayed home and took time off only for a no-show and no calls by mid-day on 7/11. Both mini-moves and local service provider confirms for delivery on 7/14. We cancel any weekend plans but on checking back on 7/13 evening, they had no clue and wasn't even sure of any date. Executive vice president, Operations manager all spoke and apologized and said they will take it with utmost priority. No correspondence until 11:25 AM on 7/16 and on calling back, they said - we are trying to deliver this later in the week. Customer service is polite, trying to help (giving credit where its due but their service provider more than makes up for it .. sic) but that's not what I paid for. I strongly recommend folks to use other alternatives at the cost of anything over this, this company has no control over their service providers and you'd be at mercy of their service providers and also required to make multiple calls yourself to figure your schedule. No one calls and lets you know - you are on your own (be prepared for fruitless multiple calls every single day and endless apologies). On my final day of spread, was offered $400 for inconvenience to buy mattress/bed (which is a wow) but when I mentioned I will post a review, I was told I may loose on that. Anyway that $400 wasn’t making up for the level of frustration and inconvenience this has caused. I will be sharing the email conversation threads as well when I get a chance. Reference to Order# 288531 Summary: Legal delivery spread has expired and this company has no clue on when they would be delivering.

BUYER BEWARE... Credenza and model cars damaged... MiniMoves only paid $60.00 for credenza, which had a 1" chuck of wood ripped out of leg and all the screws holding the wood top to the based where stripped out. They refused to pay anything on the model cars. Apparently, they think that because the model cars were prepacked in the factory boxes they were shipped to me initially "undamaged" that they are not responsible for the box they were put in and sealed by MiniMoves. They are not responsible for how they place and move the boxes during the move. The moving crew that moved my items were "SUBCONTRACTED" movers. The company is small and do not hire many of their own movers. BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...FIND ANOTHER COMPANY...i TOLD YOU SO!!

Our move of family heirlooms (furniture my Dad built) was very smooth. I had a friend act as a liaison to meet the MiniMove folks in Lancaster, PA. They were on time. The furniture was delivered to a Denver warehouse about 10 days later. We live in the mountains and they will not deliver to our remote location. The packaging was outstanding and nothing was scratched or damaged. We got to keep the high quality blanket pads, which I used in the bed of my pickup truck to protect the furniture during transport and am sure we will be using them in the future.

Having had moved quite a few times in the past through out the years, I was already expecting some incompetence and frankly preparing myself to deal with some type of headache. I mean anyone that has had to deal with a moving company I'm sure can relate! Well, if you have to move, do yourself a favor and hire this company!!!! Miguel and his crew were exceptional!! They were professional, very careful with my furniture and my home. They boxed mirrors, picture frames, put my beds together, draped my stair banesters with covers to prevent from damage and were careful not to damage walls . They truly were just great to work with! Excellent service. Pick up went smoothly. Some logistics issues at the delivery end with AIT, which was not aware that it was arriving at an apartment building. My boxes were wrapped up with plastic on a pallette that did not fit through our apartment entrance, so I had them leave the pallette at the loading dock, and I brought up the boxes to my apartment with my own cart. Overall I was very satisfied. It was cheaper than shipping my boxes via USPS.

I spent SO much time trying to figure out how I was going to get my belongings from FL to CA. All moving companies I contacted said my move was too small. Luckily someone told me about MiniMoves!! They did an amazing job!!! Very responsive and helpful customer service. However, you need to remember the actual movers are contracted and not employed by MiniMoves. The movers were far less than helpful, upfront, or cooperative.

By far the least expensive alternative for my small move. My estimate was higher than the final bill, which was nice. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that the sole piece of furniture that I had them move received some damage. Not enough for me to want to go thru a lengthy claims process, as I will most likely be able to repair the damage myself, but it is clear that it was not lifted properly when moved as the trim was broken away from the bottom corner of the cabinet. All in all, though, I am satisfied with MiniMoves and would use them again.

The appointment to pick up our furniture was very prompt and the movers took great pains to protect the items. The delivery from suburban Chicago to Atlanta took less time than expected. The delivery from the Atlanta warehouse to the destination was also exceptional. They accomodated weekend delivery. At the drop off site, the movers were excellent, professional and quick. We were very happy that there was no damage to the furniture and other items. The price was very reasonable. It included insurance for damage. The cost was much less than if we rented a one way truck and delivered it ourselves.

Very good service for moving items cross country. I recommend them for moving larger items that can't be shipped in a conventional manner. They took the time to wrap a larger, heavy, fragile item and secured it safely onto their transport. It was delivered in a timely manner and placed in the correct location.

This is a very professional moving company that truly knows what it is doing. Hats off to Steve N. in Chicago who was there for us every step of the way. I placed many phone calls to him and he was always so responsive and extremely helpful. We moved our son to NYC from the suburbs of Chicago and it was not an easy process for him to find an apt. in NY. However, I knew we had to book a moving company by a certain date. MiniMoves worked with us and our schedule and was so flexible when we had to make changes. The movers, themselves, were wonderful and very careful on both ends. They wrap everything so carefully and do not rush and made sure that all was well before they left. We had a very minimal issue with a dresser that was only very slightly scratched on the bottom that was documented and reported. I feel it is almost impossible to get through a move without something but it is what is done to rectify the issue that is important. Their quote was also adjusted to reflect what was being moved and we felt they were very fair and honest. I would highly recommend this company and know that they were responsible for the easy and hassle free move that we experienced.

Mini Moves to the Rescue. I needed to move a small load from the Chicago area to the San Francisco Bay Area but had trouble finding anyone to take a small load across the country. My mostly sentimental items, including my Great-Grandfathers treadle sewing machine and a sewing mannequin from the 1940's are precious to me. Mini Moves made the entire process easy. 10 large boxes (which I packed) and two large items that they carefully wrapped in blankets made the trip across the country with NO injury or breakage. Steve in Chicago walked me through it all, the pickup team was professional and caring. The pickup was on time and the load made it to California early. This company exemplifies great service. I'd use them again in the future.

I had a great experience moving from CA to IL with MiniMoves. We moved from a small 1 bedroom so we didn't need to move much, but had more than we could ship on our own. MiniMoves picked up and delivered within the window given and everything was delivered in great shape. My only negative feedback is that the pick up and delivery windows are bit long (4 business days on each end) and they only let you know 1 day in advance so it may be harder if you don't have a flexible schedule. Other than that - great experience and would recommend!

I needed to have some furniture from my mother-in-law's estate from Chicago to San Jose, CA and found MimiMoves via a bit of Googling. I sent them an e-mail and got a very fast call-back. The representative was thoughtful, thorough, and accommodating as I spoke to her while at the airport. I had a quote quickly and was able to finish the transaction in less that 30 minutes. They were able to do the pick up in less than 36 hours, which was perfect for our needs. I was also impressed with their delivery agent, who contacted me a few days before arrival here in California and scheduled a 4-hour delivery window. They also committed to a phone call 30 minutes prior to actual delivery, which was very helpful. The team that performed the delivery was polite and careful. The items in the shipment were fully blanketed and shrink-wrapped and the delivery team didn't rush me while I inspected the items, which arrived perfectly. I would definitely use MiniMoves again.

I needed to move a king mattress, box spring, bed frame and headboard from Connecticut to Kansas within a short timeframe. I googled small load moves and MiniMoves popped up. I had never heard of it, but filled out the brief online form, if for no other reason than to get the process of finding a way to get this done started. Much to my shock, within about 15 minutes, I got a call from MiniMoves. The gentleman asked me a few questions to clarify/confirm what I needed and then he gave me a verbal quote, which he followed up with an email quote. Too good to be true was my first thought. I asked him which companies would be utilized on both ends of the move. He told me without hesitation. Since it was already after business hours, I waited until the next morning to research each of them. My husband did the same. Within a day we contracted with MiniMoves. This would be a five star review if they hadn't missed our delivery date in Tucson by two days. Simply amazing! Working with them over the phone was easy. When the furniture arrived, the packaging protecting them was unbelievable. There was a vintage lamp with hanging faceted long crystals. Each one was wrapped individually and then taped to the lamp. There was no way they could move and chip! The furniture was completely wrapped in protective material and then each piece was wrapped again in plastic. There was no way the furniture could have been ruined. The personnel unloading the furniture were friendly, professional and were careful yet also worked quickly. I will now recommend MiniMoves to all my friends will also use them in the future. Overall a smooth move, with a few glitches. Small move from CA to CT. On the CA end the guys were great. Joachim and his staff were efficient, fast and friendly. He went over the inventory with me several times to ensure correctness.They put padding on the doorjamb and threshold for safety. On the CT end, not so much. One mover had a bad habit of leaning on the walls with his dirty smudgy fingers. He also repeatedly lifted boxes marked fragile and essentially turned them over while resting them on his shoulder. Thankfully no damage was done. Had a small issue with the "dispatcher" here in CT taking days to call and schedule. Finally, after the move in, and after signing off on the inventory, I noticed a small item missing (a tower fan). I called the local moving company and asked them to look for it. Was assured they would check the truck and the warehouse and call me back. Needless to say no callback ever came. All in all, though, satisfied. I understand Mini-Moves has limited control over the sub-contractors. I can only hope they pay attention to these reviews when choosing them.

I had very little time to move so I could not shop around for pricing, I am guessing that their quote was about right. I moved cross country (Florida to Washington). The woman I dealt with (Frances Nolan) could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. She walked me through the process and worked with me through a few changes in the estimate. I was a little hesitant about paying up front but was told I could pay half at pick up and the rest at delivery. However, I was charged in full before my things shipped. Not a huge deal I guess. My things arrived at the front end of my 2 week delivery window. After having dealt with other companies with much shorter moves, I was expecting a few issues and a bit of wear on my belongings from the haul. I am very happy to report that EVERYTHING arrived exactly as it had been shipped. They even repacked a few items that could have been damaged during shipping! I have no reservations recommending MiniMoves for any of your moving needs, no matter how far you may be going. Great job guys!!!!!!!

The movers were GREAT!! I needed to move a new bathtub from my garage to the master bath, which was up one flight of stairs. The bathtub weighed 270 pounds and was an unusual shape which made it ackward to carry. Jr., Jose and Sammy were the best. Figured out how to wrap and protect the tub and were able to carry the tub up the stairs into the master bath with little trouble.

Just had a great experience with Mini Moves for our move from New Jersey to Chicago. We went with them because we moved a small 1BR, and their price (which included wrapping furniture but not packing boxes) was very reasonable. I didn't have a lot of furniture with me but I do have some large pieces and multiple boxes that need to be taken care of. My movers showed up within the time slot we discussed for both pick-up and drop off. They loaded and unloaded everything quickly and were able to complete the entire process within 2 hours (including dissemble and assemble my couch back) which is amazing! My stuff was delivered with 9 days which was incredibly fast! All of my items made it successfully, nothing was damaged, and I stayed within my originally quoted price. Very good experience. Shipped 8 dinning room chairs, an upholstered rocker and a cedar chest from Northern Virginia to Denver. Requested a quote online, then received a call from the office to walk through the details. Was told on a Tuesday that I would be contacted during the following week to set the pick up date, but was pleased when the movers actually called that Friday to set the pick up date for the following Tuesday. The pick up went very smoothly, they arrived when they said they would, carefully wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and loaded them in the truck. They picked up on 9/11 and the shipment was delivered across the country on 9/19 (delivery window promised was 9-19 to 10/1) . Overall an outstanding experience. Had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Moved from NJ TO CO. Steve from Chicago answered all questions promptly and when we added more boxes than we thought, added them quickly to the inventory list. On the day of the move, the window was between 11-4 and they were there just after 11. The two men were very professional and handled my things with care. My things left July 26 and were in Denver about a week later. I was not leaving until Aug 8 so my things were kept in the warehouse so I had to set up a delivery time. They were very accommodating on the date and gave me a window from 12-4. They made several calls before the date and the day of to make sure everything was good. They got to the apartment at 12. It was very nice not having to wait around for my stuff. The price was outstanding and less than if I were to move my stuff with a U-Haul and car trailer and I didn’t have to do any of the heavy lifting. While mini movers finds and uses local moving companies, it was great to not have to do all the leg work. I would recommend them to my friends and family.
