My experience with Midwest Movers was top notch. Great customer service, and the crew who moved my stuff were friendly, competent and FAST. The actual work was BELOW the estimate, which is rarely the case. The only hiccup was that a second stop wasn't communicated from the home office to the movers themselves, so we had to do a little reworking, but it all worked out in the end. I would work with Midwest Movers again in a heartbeat!

Everything was fine until they delivered almost all of my things after being stored in their facility in Las Vegas. Someone STOLE over $3000 worth of scuba equipment. Stupid me, I should have put the gear bag into a box so would be thieves wouldn't know what it was. My suggestion would be to pack everything so the thieves at the warehouse in Las Vegas can't see what there is to steal. Be warned.

The movers were excellent, they were polite and professional. They had all the correct equipment to move furniture unlike some other movers who have showed up and forgot their straps or extra blankets to wrap the furniture. There was plenty of communication with the office staff to make sure my move was confirmed for the correct date and time and they used modern technology for followed up communication.

I moved from Grand Rapids, MI to Edison, NJ. My packages are stored in a storage and when I call to get them delivered on my preferred date , they said that it's not possible. I was not told about this and now I will have to wait untill they can deliver at their convenient time

I was really happy with the service I received from Midwest. I worked with Dave on the quote and he said he doesn't like for actual charges to come in higher than quotes, which I appreciated because I had previously worked with a company who gave me a quote and then the final charge was a few hundred dollars more. And true to his word, the quote was on point. Then I was assigned a moving coordinator who checked in with me periodically before the move in case I had questions. The three movers who moved my belongings were also great. They took great care of even my crappy Ikea bookcase and worked quickly. They were friendly and nice. I would definitely use Midwest again and would recommend them to others.

HORRIBLE experience; I had booked this company because they have a partnership with my apartment building and since the building does not have a loading dock I though that they would be efficient; however after arriving 30 minutes late the crew leader said that he had never been to my building before and proceeded to take 45 minutes for set up; they did not handle my items with care and were very very slow...my last 4 moves the company packed items such as lamps, computers, and TV...this company does not they wrap items in blankets...I was supposed to have a team of 4 but 3 arrived making my 6 hour move into 10 hours...the first several items off of the truck were damaged and boxes were over stacked cause multiple broken items...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! Do not use this company for your own good. I never write reviews but I had to because I don't want anyone to be cheated like I was. They lied to me throughout the whole process. They were late on pick-up, late on drop-off and I had to call them when they were late because they just forgot about me. They up-charged me $325 on delivery for no reason, and after trying to talk to them calmly they were unkind, not helpful and avoided me. Not to mention that they broke three items of my furniture, and you have to call in to undergo this long process to ever get your money back. Please for your own good, use any other company than this one! It's not worth the pain.

If I could put 0 stars I would. I didn't even get to do the move because my husbands company didn't approve his transfer. So I asked to cancel my move 3 weeks in advance before the move way before they needed notice. I asked them about my refund for the deposit and they were just rude, ignored my calls and my emails. When they finally answered my calls they said they can't even find the transaction for my deposit that I needed to fax them a copy of my bank transaction, but didn't even give me the fax number. when your getting there services they are great but as soon as you cancel everything changes. I wouldn't recommend them at all. Especially with all the bad reviews.

Absolute WORST WORST WORST moving company. Paid them to pack and move from Illinois to California. Came in and literally threw my things in boxes. Lied to me about when my things would be delivered. Took them 3 WEEKS. When they did finally deliver they had hired DAY LABORERS to move my things. Many things were stolen or broken. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

First off I would like to say thank you to my move coordinator as I was treated kindly and professionally from first contact with Midwest Moving. I used Midwest Moving for my residential local apartment move as I family memeber of mine recommended them from their office move with them. The process of booking was very easy and painless. I got quoted quickly and set up an a time and date within minutes. As of Move day the crew contacted as they were on their way and were their right on time. For the first half hour or so the crew set up protective equipment and eyed what they’d be moving. The crew worked as a team (all three worked not just one or two) to get my job done effectively and efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves and were very careful when moving into my new apartment. I would highly recommended this company to my friends and family. I am glad to have such a great experience and will always keep Midwest Moving in mind when moving in the future.

We had another fantastic experience with Midwest Moving. MWM helped us move from our 3 bedroom high rise apartment to a home in the city. They were very prepared, planned and arranged for all factors that go along with city moving, and got everything moved safely and efficiently. MWM was also super helpful leading up to the move and made sure we were prepared with materials and other items happening on move day. I would HIGHLY recommend MWM for any moving needs! By far the worst moving experience. I had a 1200 sq ft house, 1 bedroom to be moved, no couches or table to be moved and it took 10 hours for 3 men to move us. I had pre packed some clothing items that I bought special bins for myself, which they unpacked and used my clothing as packing material for other items. They left fragile materials in my dresser, unpacked, which ended up braking. They started in one room and move on to the next without finishing. Took multiple breaks and on the final paperwork, the main guy said they didn't even take a lunch break and wrote that they had no breaks. They wrote that some of my furniture was already damaged, which they are not. They ripped a huge hole in my mattress and did not say anything about it, they said they would put it in a box back at the warehouse but when I received it, it was poorly wrapped in saran wrap. It seemed like they were trying to save their packing material or use less boxes to pack my stuff because it was very poorly packaged. They labeled multiple boxes wrong and it was very confusing due to the fact they would mix items from different rooms. When they first arrived I gave them a layout of what to pack and what not to pack, which I already had separated neatly for them but they ended up packing it anyways. Do not recommend to anyone. I understand moving and packing is a hard job but do not lie or be lazy about it.

They stole items and damaged others. One of which was hidden in another larger box with other boxes. I'm still going through my items to see what else they stole. Clearly they looked through my things and had time to do so. They charged me over $1200 to rob me. Whatever they happened to do well is undone by not protecting my items while in their possession. Look elsewhere for moving your possessions.

During our move from Chicago to Louisiana we ended up with one company packing our stuff and Mid-West moving it. We were not moving furniture but had about 50 boxes. RichE, Mark and Corey were promptly on time and very courteous. RichE is a hoot and had us laughing instead of fretting. We live in a condo and other than reserving an elevator in advance they took care of everything else. In just over one hour everything was inventoried and loaded including some repacks because they didnt like the way some boxes were sealed. Good people at least on this end. Have to see how it shows up on the other end.

I contacted this company for a quote to move our business office equipment. The customer service person I spoke with at their main office was extremely nice. The gentleman that was sent to do the walk-through and provide the quote was also nice until it came time to follow through on his commitment to provide a quote by the end of that day. In fact, the quote arrived 5 days later after he sent the following email: 'I am sorry for the delay or the technology issues in getting the estimated charges and the inventory to you. I am also sorry that you are "not impressed". But I am very busy and in addition, your move isn't until approximately the end of November as per our meeting.' We are an organization that needs to provide budgets for approval and this gentleman seems to feel because our move was not for 2 months he should not have to provide the quote when he promised. When the quote finally arrived, it was double that of the other two companies I received quotes from. He also told me not to contact anyone else from the company moving forward and to only contact him. I will never use this organization.

We've moved 9 times since I've been an adult. I have used them several times and have never had an issue. They are professional and everything arrives safely. We do pack our own boxes. FYI: A trick to making a move go faster (ie save yourself some $$) is to try to pack everything in similar size boxes because when the movers fill the truck it is faster for them to put the same size boxes inside the truck tightly- think of it as a big puzzle. If you have lots of different sized boxes it takes any mover time to figure out how to put them in the truck tightly so that nothing shifts during transit. Just a tip to all you who don't like to buy boxes. It saves money on the other side of the move.

Wow. These men are machines. Absolute best moving company I have ever used. Hands down. We moved 3 beds, large couches, tons of fragile mirrors, ect and all arrived in perfect condition to my new home. The gentleman moving us were so friendly, worked nonstop until the job was done. As they were moving me in, I started unpacking boxes and before they left, they broke down all those empty boxes and disposed of them for me. No moving company has ever done that before, which was SO incredibly helpful. I could not recommend this company enough. MWM is the way to go if you are looking for a stress free move!!!

WONDERFUL experience to move with Mid-West Moving. Two weeks ago, we hired MWM to move our three bedroom highrise apartment to a home. They anticipated things we would have had no idea about-- arranged permit parking on our destination, brought moving materials that came in handy last minute, were able to get all of our items out in the (unreasonable) freight elevator scheduled timeline. Was also super nice to have email reminders and confirmations as we approached the move. Highly recommend if you want to leave it to the professionals and take a bit of stress off your plate during your move. Thank you to Mike, our helpers, Jillian, and Esther!

Needed to move mom to senior community on short notice. Selected Mid-West because they were available at the time needed. They movers were FANTASTIC!! All furniture was carefully wrapped and efficiently carried from the old condo to the new apartment. Loose items (lamps, vacuum, ironing board) were appropriately boxed, moved and unpacked. The crew was friendly and helpful. When--hours after they left--I couldn't find an item, I called the crew lead directly. He called back within minutes and informed me the "missing" item had been carried in an opaque storage container I had yet to unpack. Sure enough, it was there.

I had some unique circumstances for my move which made it more difficult than average, but the Mid-West Moving and Storage team was able to work with me for those items. While planning the move, I got to work with a great moving coordinator, Paul, who gave excellent advice/guidance for moving, was clear with the expectations both of me and of Mid-West Moving and Storage, and even visited my apartment to do a quote. During the move, the team of movers were extremely professional. They were punctual in terms of arriving on time, easy to talk to, careful moving all of my furniture and boxes, able to work quickly, and even got the job done ahead of schedule with a final price lower than my original quote. Overall, I would recommend Mid-West Moving and Storage to anyone who is needing to move, especially if your situation is complex like mine.

Fantastic moving company!! Moved from a large high rise to a 3 story town home with no elevator. And you guessed it that we had the apartment on the top floors so everything needed to be walked up 2-3 flights of stairs. They handled it beautifully with no complaints! From every step of working with this company there was an extreme lack of professionalism. Beginning with the movers showing up and not knowing how to do their job. The girl working the inventory was asking us how to do the inventory and what she should do, we were appalled and worried. Half way through our storage time this company called and threatened to get rid of all our belongings from storage if we didn`t pay way more than the negotiated price. Luckily this was only a threat and not serious. Then upon delivery the driver gave us no where close to the 24 hour required drop off time. Then upon delivering our possessions the movers were slamming boxes down marked fragile, delivering boxes clearly up-side down. ( I could hear the damage of the plates as they threw the box on our floor) They brought possessions into our house that did not belong to us. CLEARLY this company has severe inventory and management issues as we have several possessions missing and other people do as well apparently. Several of these broken dishes were wedding gifts that are irreplaceable and we never even had the chance to use them. Everything was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and tons of paper with brand new boxes. Nothing should have been damaged. This company did a very poor job managing our belongings, I regret using them and will be writing a poor review.

So my husband and I just moved into our new Apartment on October 7th from nc to th. The first part of the move went smoothly and the movers we great showed up the day we said we needed everything moved out and everything. The 2nd part of the move was awful we had broken items some of our boxes were damaged and they showed up 3 days after the date we scheduled. We have 2 babies and both of them were sleeping on an air mattress we brought with us since we stayed at my sister in laws for a month before we were able to move in. They put our things in storage and we called a month in advance to let them know the move in date. The movers got here and moved our things in but now we are missing still a fool box with $2500 worth of tools 2 brooms and a box with my husband dress blues. Everytime we call they are extremely rude and even though we paid for them to bring our things they will not give us anything for forgetting the stuff they didn't bring. The toll box had the screws and things in it to put the cribs together so she is sleeping in a play pin and my friends little girl is sleeping on a mattress on the floor(they are only 1 1/2). I am beyond angry because we paid over $1600 for them to get our things here. 5 star moving company more like 1 star I would of had better luck moving with the military cuz at least all of my things would be here and my daughter and my friends daughter would be sleeping more comfortable. Dont uses this company they are terrible and do not care about your family or your things.

They were acting nice and did everything nice but at the end I found out they stole my 600$ camera and one of the men who were working used our bathroom and didn’t flush the toilet. I feel so disrespected and my mother gave them a pack of beers because she felt they did an awesome job but at the end we realized we’ve been got. The names of the men I remember who did this was Ryan and mike and 2 or 3 more men. I’m getting the police and CHA involved.

I initially worked with Ken to setup the move, he was very knowledgeable and guided us through the moving process. By the time the moving date arrived all questions were answered, and I was already introduced to the team that would be assisting us. On the moving day Nick was the supervisor overseeing the relocation. His team was on time and very professional. They took care of all loading and unloading, and reassembly of our shelving units. Nick kept me informed and asked questions as needed. The team was done quicker than expected. Overall the process couldn't have been handled better. Would definitely contract Mid-West Moving again!

I had a great experience during our move yesterday. I used another familiar local name moving company last year, and Mid-West was a superior experience (and ended up cheaper and faster). We moved a 2 bedroom apartment from a third floor walk-up in Oak Park to a high rise in the South Loop. All of our furniture survived the move without any issues. The team was polite and professional. I really recommend this company. Oh, also, they navigated crazy traffic because of an event going on next door to the new place.

This guy name Dave thought I did not hear his conversations with his co-worker when I was on hold or maybe he did because he did not want our business. Midwest moving is probably the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. The sales staff including the manager avoided me the minute they found out my Holly Hunt dining table and Henredon urn was damaged. I reported the damages, but the company came up with all sort of excuses to not fix the damages due to the cost to fix it. We tried to contact the owner to report the damages, but I all we kept getting was the receptionist. All employees avoided my calls. We finally got a hold of one, but the manager promised us again they would help but nothing was done. I would not recommend this company. It is waste of time and energy dealing with them.
