Definitely got the Chicago Deep Dish we came from South Carolina for!
The Best Pizza in the U.S.!
Best pizza in the country
Went for Chicago deep dish pizza. Lots of people came after Navy boot camp graduation...
We drive here all the way from Wisconsin. Best pizza ever. Love it
Best pizza pie I've ever had! Waitress was the best
Expensive but the slices are big! We had deep dish pizza and it was worth it.
Rocco's better in west st.paul
Food was salty and inedible. Service was slow. We were comped for the bad food oh, but I would never go back there. There are too many other choices out there.
Pizza was great, service was excellent. Pizza took a while, but normal for deep dish and worth the wait.
Cozy place, clean, we were seated quickly. Ordered med size deep dish pizza. Took 45 minutes, and was worth the wait! Would go back and recommend it to anyone who enjoys fresh ingredients on their pizza.
The pizza was delivered late by over 35 minutes when I called and spoke to manager by the name of Doug, his only response was that he could call the driver and cancel the order. after waiting for 1½ hours this solution didn't make any sense. He was even hesitant to give me his name , when I asked for it he put me on hold. I am a business owner for over 35 years and know what a good customer service should be. and when the pizza arrived it was cold . I emailed to to the management, and got NO response
Great food.service was slow.
You want deep dish pizza but you aren't in the city? This place has you covered, their pizza is deep the cheese is stretchy, and the toppings are plentiful.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Pizza has always been ridiculously good and filling. Anytime I make it to Chicago I make it a point to stop into one of the various locations and always leave satisfied.
Giordano's is a required stop when passing through the Chicago area. The wait for the deep dish pizza is definitely worth it. Service is always good. If your a pizza lover you must stop here.
Worth the wait, Chicago style deep dish was amazing
Good pizza and friendly service
Best Deep Dish Pizza! You really have to experience it for yourself, the stretchy cheese, the delicious crust. It's fabulous and so worth the wait. The staff was extremely friendly as well. Whenever I'm in the area it's a must to stop here.
Be ready to wait for 45 mins to an hour, don't be greedy, one deep dish will do you in with left overs. Fantastic!
Best deep dish pizza ever, way better than Gino's. I cant wait until they come back to Milwaukee, Hurry we need a new restaurant.
I don't Love Chicago pizza but it's still good
I mean...whats there to complain about? Delicious pizza as close to Milwaukee as we can get and friendly service. They even let you call ahead of time on weekdays so that the food is done when you get there. I love that kind of courtesy...because who wants to sit waiting for an hour? Not me.
A must stop for my family when visiting Wisconsin!! Always have to get one to go also. Make sure you understand a pizza takes a good 45 min to make so don't go if your rushing. Well worth the wait!
The best pizza around! Pizza is 5 stars, but their delivery service (or lack there of) gives this place 4 stars. We live three miles from this location, but because our address is “Grayslake” not “Gurnee”, they refuse deliver to us. They did agree to deliver one time, but they charged us around $6 for delivery, which is awfully steep. We would rather pick the pizza up over paying that high of a delivery fee. Hopefully they reconsider their delivery area!
Good service, great pizza. The cheese on the pizza is especially good. Their wine selection is sparse, but decent quality. Salads are good, too. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza to cook or 25 minutes for thin crust.
Usually my most favorite pizza however we took it to go and the crust stuck to the box...otherwise its great
Pizza was great but service could be better
Beautiful service..elegant vibe..very satisfied and tasty
First time having deep dish pizza and wasn't disappointed! This place held up to all the ravings, so they get a 5-star rating! Camera isn't the best quality, but the pizza sure is!
My favorite deep dish pizza!
Food is great. Service was good.
Love their meat lovers deep dish...
Wow best Pizza I have ever had
I am from TEXAS and we dont have this. This pizza has Changed my Life lol BBQ Chicken & Peporoni OMG sooooo Good
Called ahead and order the deep dish pizza. Hot out of the oven. Very good.
Giordano's pizza was fantastic. We got there at a pretty busy time so it was a bit if a wait. It was worth the wait though.
Why is this place so good!!!? Seriously though. Best.Pizza.Ever. we were visiting from Nevada, so we ate it like there was no tomorrow
great food, good service, excellent atmosphere
Brought my family to have a try of this famous style pizza pie! Did not disappoint. Loved it. Saff was great! Jose was awesome! He took care of us.
Best deep dish pizza ever
The pizza was great, service was really slow. We were seated with menus (walked in knowing what we wanted), but it took over 20 minutes for someone to take our order and bring us water.
Great food, especially the deep dish pizzas!
The middle of the pizza was a little underdone in gooey.
Had a great lunch date w the Hubby! Told ahead of time our food would take 30 mins. Nice atmosphere and enjoyed the lunch.
The service here at this location was abysmal! Walk in order, they got it wrong ( a simple pizza and one side) the ladies at the customer service counter have no business being there or in business. I've been at several locations in the area and this one operates under it's own set of rules. Not going back until management changes things.
Love love love the deep dish!
If I would have known what a Chicago pizza was I would have never gone. Over priced for one and it’s a pizza made of cheese. Not my cup of tea and the pasta has 0 flavor.
Delicious deep dish Chicago style pizza and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
Pizza was good, but the sauce was a little bland. Over 50 minute wait for pizza is a little frustrating, but understandable due to the crowd.
Great Chicago style pizza!!!
Always amazing deep dish pizza. A few times a year I order frozen pizzas shipped to me but having it fresh in the restaurant is much better. First time at this location. Very clean restroom and polite & friendly waitress. Makes a great stop on the drive from Milwaukee to Chicago.
Amazing deep dish pizza drove 3 hrs to get the pizza for the first time and well worth it!
Very good. Worth the wait.
The food took just under 2 full hours to arrive. Not exaggerating, 1 hour and 47 minutes from the time we ordered. 2 hours and 10 minutes from the time we walked in. I know the exact time as we had planned to eat and then go to the mall. We arrived right at 7pm, took just under 20 minutes to get seated. We ordered everything (drinks, app and entire meal) when we saw the waitress the first time to avoid further delays. 25 minutes after ordering, our drinks arrive. Our waitress then decided to tell us at that point that our 1 pizza was going to take 45 minutes to an hour. Asked if that was ok, like we had a choice at that time. She then asked if we wanted to order and app while we waited. After reminding her that we had already ordered an app, she ran off and came back with the cheese bread relatively quickly. We had to stop another employee for refills for the entire table. Worst experience ever!!
I was disappointed with my deep dish pizza. For $50.00 it should be impeccable and it was not what I remember it to be. It was flavorless and barely deep dish. I will not be returning again for this flavorless pizza.
Like always, great pizza!
Food was so good and services was excellent.
So many opinions about deep dish or thin crust being "Chicago style". Who says one can't enjoy both? I always enjoy Giordano's, their food is always delicious. Service is great, the staff is very attentive.
We were so disappointed. It was as if we were forgotten about even though our server was working 4 other tables around us. We were there for 3 hours and most of the time it was just waiting. Waiting for drinks, waiting for the refills. Our app came late. Just everything was bad. There was a group, the same size as ours, that had gotten there about 10 mins after us. They got everything way before our table. We asked for sugar for coffee 6 times, refills 3 times and it was all broken promises. The kids were getting antsy and I ended up just asking for a check. I would not recommend this location for dine in at all!
Great comfort food, great service, and awesome selections. Kids have a great time in this comfortable atmosphere. Great local find for great local pizza taste.
From California and now living in Texas. Never had a true Chicago deep dish. Was told go to Lou Malnati's and Giordano's. I did and enjoyed Lou's but loved Giordano's!!!
Very busy but the staff was nice and the food was great, nice and hot
I barely ever leave a review but our experience definitely warranted one here. We arrived today at 11:45 AM. Not busy at all. The Brushetta appetizer I always order, was so tough it couldn't be chewed or cut with utensils (literally rock hard). Promptly new bread pieces were brought to the table by a person referenced as a manager. But ..I had to rebuild them myself from the bad order as he ONLY brought bread pieces... so not the same with no Balsamic drizzle or really even hot at this point. My sister in law, Paula, with her 3 children joined us and only asked for water and menus while the waitress was still there at the table discussing my dissatisfaction with my Brushetta. Our kids order an appetizer plate to get by. When my deep dish pizza was DELIVERED to the table (forever later) the waitress asked, THEN, if my sister in law would like to place an order. During the time lapse between this point and her previous appetizer swing in, the waitress and hostess avoided EVERY single effort anyone at our table made to flag them down for assistance. Including from our 4 teenage children, in addition to 3 adults, my husband and I in the mix. No waters STILL!!! This is all happening even after my sister-in-law got up and asked the SEATED hostess at the hostess station if she could receive her requested waters after waiting so long already to being told by this seated employee/ hostess, "it wasn't her job." Really!!??!! So...... helping customers where you work in CUSTOMER SERVICE as a profession isn't in your job description???? Paua now requests the manager. We drove all the way back here from out of state. We try to stop in each visit. Not sure ever again! We return often, family and friends in the area, as we formerly lived in Grayslake/ Wildwood. "The Manager" on duty told us they were understaffed do to one employee drinking too much the night before and apparently home puking, a new cook, and inexperienced wait staff. What manager tells customers this??? BTW- only the bus woman and Manager brought or refilled our beverages at any point we were there. It's the only time I absolutely refused to leave a tip!!!! Disappointing experience in every single way!! Worst $87.15 we've ever spent! And that was only my bill. My sister IL law actually received a 20% discount on her two sandwiches order but only after requesting it after speaking with the manager. Another $25 order at our table. All staff were and are at fault here!!!!! Shame on you for representing your employer in such a rude and disrespectful way!! And.... You were given every opportunity to, at the very least, apologize. Truly hope the "Hostess" no longer is employed there after today and we wish no ill will on anyone as a norm....but honey you are in the wrong business!!! Many dishes broken while we were there (which your staff laughed and joked about!), bad service, disappointing food quality.....you may want to be considered for a Restaurant Impossible episode!!! Overhaul this location ASAP!
1st of all I'd like to thank our server Jose he was very professional And once we told him we were from Arizona he was very very helpful and his suggestions on how to visit Chicago was great As for our pizza it was a different experience this was our 1st time having authentic deep dish Chicago pizza We had done our research and we were not shocked when they said it would take 45 minutes to bake our pie During our time we waited we enjoyed The atmosphere Once our pizza pies arrived To our table We were happy with the preparation and the presentation of our pizza pies the taste alone was worth the wait and it totally gave us the authenticity of Chicago deep dish pizza
Wow! Everyone recommended I go to Giordano's while in the area and I'm glad I did! Calamari was amazing and the pizza was worth the wait. Make sure you have time to spend when you go in. Pizza takes a while to cook but is soooooo worth the wait. It's deep and full of delicious cheese.
Great food and friendly service.
Stuffed pizza at its finest
Very good food but too small of a restaurant. Better for carry out ordering. So if you are visiting the area, phone in your order and take it back to the hotel. Gurnee is not that far from Great Lakes and the food is worth it.
Giordano's has been one of my favorite pizzas since childhood. My family often hadit as a treat when I was growing up in Chicago. This location is pretty good and has been more consistently what I know and love about the pizza over the years, and access to my favorite comfort food is great. The only complaint I have is small but super annoying. If you order carryout and request plates utensils and packets, you really never get them. I've sacrificed the majority of a lunch break or rushed back to the picnic spot to find the bag of desserts has nothing to eat with or on. I try to remember to check, but if I'm ordering carryout, I'm usually in a hurry and made my order an hour ago, so I forget sometimes to look in the bag. It's frustrating because when you finally get where you're going with your pizza, you want to EAT. Other than that, its all love.
We came here for an afternoon, late lunch. Never been here before, just happened to be in the store next door and fancied checking this place out. There were no wait staff, just what appeared to be the manager seating customers. I’ll admit, the restaurant wasn’t busy, but it showed in the lack of attention. We had a pie and a thin crust pizza, which took about 40 min to arrive. Super super cheesy and greasy. Neither of us felt very well after two slices of the pie, and a few slices of the thin crust. The restaurant wasn’t terrible, but the waiter only came on shift for the last 5 min and he was super polite, but for a complete overall review, it wasn’t great. I’d maybe try this place again, and change the review if it was better, it for now, I’ll pass.
Great deep dish and a Chicago favorite! The wait is long but worth it!
Our families favourite pizza joint.
As usual for last several years I have gone here. Staff is inattentive and food was just ok.
Definitely beats New York pizza. Maybe not as good as Minnesota pizza.
Great pizza and dessert. Wow.
Good place, pizza was hot and had lots of toppings. Service was good as well bring an appetite with you, you're gonna need it.
Place wasn't too busy, server only focused on families and they messed up my order... I watched the server be super friendly to the families who were gonna have a large bill, but because I was dining alone she basically ignored me.
Best pizza ever
Awesome pizza! Came from out of town and picked this place to get some Chicago pizza and I was not disappointed! Service was great too, everyone was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and had great ambiance. Their beer selection was small but it was a pizza place so I didn’t expect 30 different taps.
Located in Gurnee .. The initial impression fell flat after hair was found in our water glass. We normally order the thin crust pizza which at other locales..is delightful! However this pizza was overcooked and under seasoned. A polite disappointment!
Looks and tastes great!! Deep dish pizza was amazing!!
Food is great wait is 45 minutes for deep dish pizza. Long wait
My family went here about 2 weeks ago, they gave us good pizza, I'm rating it 3 stars because although we got good pizza, the pizza was not only rushed, but it was last minute since the woman waitress made us wait for about 2 hours and didn't even check up on us, we got there around 8pm and two of my family members got up from their seats and went to go check on the order, and surprisingly we were told that they were having issues with their ticketing system and that no food was leaving the kitchen, at first we didn't ask for any discount because of our wait time and POOR Service, but later we did because we thought it wasn't fair that we waited so long for the food, the waitress cut our bill in half, I guess make sure that your food is getting prepared and they know you ordered because they didn't check up on us and they didn't check up on another table either, and they were only there for about 15 minutes less than we were. Please fire or retrain your night shift staff, thank you.
This was my first time trying deep dish from Chicago since I'm from Toronto in Canada. It was delicious. I ordered a medium all meat deep-dish. I can't believe the amount of flavor and toppings in this thing. I'll definitely be ordering another one when I'm in Chicago. The staff were also super nice and helpful to suggest a good first time one. My issues for giving it 4/5 was I also ordered a thin crust chicken pesto which was pretty bland, it looked amazing though. Also these pizzas aren't meant for re heating, but what pizza is? Most pizzas I re heat the next day are semi good so I don't review them but the deep dish wasn't anywhere near close the day of and I used the oven. Will definitely be back when in the area!
Crust was hard. Even ordered extra thin. It was hard. Paid over 60$. Never eat there again
Thath was terrible takes for ever to the waitresses come to ask me what I want then I was looking for her to pay the bill I never go back to this place
I went to eat at the gurnee location and it was super cold everyone in the restaurant was going to their cars to get sweaters or blankets I had to ask like 3 different people to turn up the temperature than the manager came to our table and was a little rude and with an attitude and told me that his ac was barely even running when I had just walk over by the thermostat and check the temp they had it set at 68 and on top of that they had the fans on the ceiling on, the food got cold really fast the appetizer got cold by the we were half way done.
Hands down the most awesome Pizza we have ever had we couldn't wait to try it we drove all the way from California O and also to what's your son graduate navy boot camp But that pizza was Van tastic
Their deep dish is the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’m normally not a fan of deep dish - it’s that good. The perfect blend of ingredients and seasoning without any excessive salt.
Omg great pizza so much cheese
Pizza was great as usual, the service was not as great as it could have been.
For Chicago style stuffed pizza, Giordano's is top notch. Although the establishment in Gurnee is small with more limited seating than their city locations, thank goodness they're there.
Best pizza we have ever had!
We got there at 6:40 and we werent even acknowledged we ended up leaving and going to bills pub north . Where we served right away. And had a great server
Sampler and Chicago classic deep dish. Very delicious overall. Prompt service at the time of dine in but have also visited when it's crowded and takes forever to even just get a table... Friendly staff.
Whenever you go to Chicago you HAVE to go to Giordano's. Their deep dish is the BEST!!!!
Great Chicago deep dish pizzas! The food, service and atmosphere here at the Gurnee Giordano's keeps us coming back each time we come to visit the area! Outstanding pizzas each time! Over a decade and we're still coming back to your restaurant! It's our tradition.
Best deep dish ever. And their garlic bread is amazing. Well worth the drive and wait
Well worth the 40 minute wait for the deep dish pizza!
Delicious again, just like the Rosemont location. Calamari appetizer comes with banana peppers, artichokes, and lemons and is fantastic!! Come hungry and prepared for left overs cause this is some serious pizza!
The service was great, but the food was just meh. I ordered a "STUFFED" pizza, but they put one of the ingredients on top! I guess they forgot & threw them on later. That could fly with the locals that only have only experienced this location(Gurnee), but I'm from Chicago! I've bee eating Giordano's my whole life! I'll give them more time & they'll be much better.
Awesome atmosphere... service great.
Love their pizza. Especially their spinach one. Yummy!
Amazing feep dish. So yummy.
I was so disappointed in the service. I had a couple deep dish pizzas the one was veggies n sausages , there was barley any veggies, I also order a chicken salad that barley any chicken in it.
Best pizza I have ever eaten!
Love deep dish pizza! Just wish this place was a tad bit larger felt a bit cramped but the food is amazing
Placed order online to be delivered 24hours later at 7pm. Order did not show up until 7:40pm. Received no call about delay and when I did call all the girl says is that "we are busy. you should have placed order for an hour before you actually wanted it". Hah! The ball was dropped on customer service which is a big deal. Will go elsewhere next time even though I think the pizza is very good.
The best Chicago style pizza in my opinion! Smooth tomato sauce which is rare to find in a deep dish and the amount of cheese in a Giordanos pizza goes without comparison to other pizza companies. We love these so much we even purchase the online frozen pizzas to have delivered at home when we can't make the trip.
Great service! Pizza is slow to make but its worth it for the quality! Got a sausage and an olive in my pizza that I didnt order but past that a great place to eat in or carry out.
Chicago deep dish was excellent! Great service!
A true deep-dish chicago-style pizza experience. It takes about 45 minutes to cook this kind of pizza so don't be in a hurry. But if it fits your schedule, it's fantastic.
Awesome pizza. Were in from out of town and wanted to try some authentic Chicago deep dish and this place did not disappoint.
I can't add more than all the other reviews did. It does take longer to cook than a normal run of the mill pizza, but it is so worth it. The server did warn us that it would like a while to cook. We sat and enjoyed the company while we waited. Our pizza was too big for us. We were full after just one piece! It was massive. As vegetarians you are accustomed to the veggies they thrown on a pizza, but this thing was loaded. It even had broccoli in it! Just in love with this pizza. Next time we travel up that way we will stop again.
Awesome tasting pizza. Had to wait 45 minutes for it to cook so it's not fast! Delicious though and very filling.
Pizzas were good. My wife and shared the gluten free and my daughter had a deep-dish. They also had dessert. The place was busy and the food and seating took a while but it was good and the service attentive.
Oh man!! Deep Dish at its best!!!
Best pizza ever. I make it a point to stop when ever I am in Chicago
Pizza was delicious and the I coming from AZ. And i going back with a great taste
The appetizer s are amazing. But my family prefers Lou's pizza.
In the area from Alabama for my Aunt's Funeral. This was a MUST go if time permitted. We came on Saturday night. We ordered a Chicago Classic Deep Dish and a Meat and More Meat Deep Dish. This was the best pizza that I've ever eaten. Wished there was one in North Alabama. My brother in law just kept going on about how good it was. It far exceeded my expectations.
Pizza is legendary! Staff was very awesome!
Good deep dish pizza
Service was slow. I think it was in the middle of a shift change, but the pizza is fantastic
They baked me a perfect pie!
Excellent pizza, we had the thin crust and it was just as good as the deep dish. We only wished that they had Coke options rather than Pepsi.
YES....SPECIALLY IN THIS PLACE, IN THIS PLACE THE SERVICE SUCKS I ORDERED TWO DEEP DISH AND TWO REGULAR PIZZAS FOR PICK UP THEY TOLD 45 MINUTES....SURE THING I WAS THERE 50 MINUTES LATER I WAS THERE OVER 45 MINUTES WAITING TO GET MY ORDER....SO AS MEXICAN THAT I'M A LA CHINGADA WITH "GIORDANO'S.
OMG! The best pizza I have ever had in my life. We are from PA. The hotel we stayed at recommend this place as the #1 Chicago Deep Dish Pizza in the state! It was.
Awful
I waited over a hour to be seated horrible
Can't beat the Classic Chicago style deep dish.
Too bad whole wheat is not an option. A tastier crust would make them fantastic. The pie stand dropped the pizza we had waited an hour for... so we had to eat it off the table or wait another hour. Even with sports on the TVs, ambient noise was not too loud and conversation was easy.
Great pizza!! Wonderful service. I appreciate being told how long it takes for the pizza to bake so we could plan our visit.
AWESOME PLACE FOR PIZZA AND OTHER ENTREES!!!
Best pizza in town. Great customer service.
It's was okay. Not great and not bad. The deep dish is huge!
