Madison stoled all my jewelry and then they lost 1/3 of my belongings. I have received platitudes from one company person, once. It is my intention to suspend there license. Whether I go to Florida or the federal Department of Transportation or the interstate commerce commission, I will make my point. I have moved 10ntimes. This as been a nightmare and a violation of their legality binding responsibility. This isn’t over. Though I expect this review to either be erased or sent to the bottom. Have no doubt I am serious and have the capability to make a lot of noise One cannot ignore the bad reviews and be in denied of the better reviews. I have done that myself. Check on Yelp.

They took the time to come back to our previous offices a couple of weeks before the move to administer United States some nice moving tips that extremely sped up the moving and thereby unbroken the prices low. On moving day, they showed a fiat time, their guys were prepared and willing to figure and that they genuinely took care of the full move therefore we are able to sit back and relax. All the blokes were careful, polite and really kind. Would whole-heatedly suggest them!

WORST customer service and sales out there. The salesman completely lies in order to get the business and once they have your furniture on their trucks they increase the price. If you speak with a Glen Cohen you better run fast. This is also the same company as International Van Lines.

If I could give a 0 stars, I would! To begin, I was told Madison has their own employees that perform the work, but we were subcontracted to International Van Lines, who subcontracted to another company - They quoted the contract when asked about this. I paid additional for temperature control environment to store our items between locations to find out it was not stored appropriately. Finally, when our inventory arrived, there was no count taken/checked off what was taken/delivered, many damaged pieces of furniture, (not one bedroom set in working order), and multiple missing items. Now, we are filling out claim sheets that will take us forever to do. Save yourself the trouble and find a company that treats your belongings with care. Worst Experience. Ever.

First rate service, start to finish. I had a small, one appliance move that turned into a two-stops/two appliances gig after I made my reservation, and the crew was fast and flexible enough to make both stops work! Would work with them again in a heartbeat.

Madison Van lines aka International Van lines : I don't want to give a single star to this crappy moving company. I recently moved from Ilinois to Georgia and I asked these guys to move my packages that I already packed. They charged me additional $200 saying 2 queen mattresses were heavy and thick and it exceeded their measurements. I clearly told them that I want my stuff on 08/24 at Georgia at any cost and they agreed upon. They picked it on 08/17 and they also mentioned someone would call me in 2 days after the pickup and update the status and I never got a call until I called them on 08/24. They asked me who told you that we will deliver it on 24th? to which I said the sales person from whom I got a call. They said it will not reach until September 1st week(2nd I got it). I DID NOT GET the standing FAN that they picked it up and some other items were damaged. I tried to reach them later and despite leaving voice mails and did not get a single call back from them. They clearly cheated me and I literally on the streets for a week because of these guys. I had to fight with them until it reached me on 09/02. No communication from them despite repeated requests/attempts on the status of my packages. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and DELIVERY. LIARS TO THE CORE.

I recently made a move cross-country from the east coast to the West Coast and went online to see what the top movers were for long distance. I received quotes from the top three. One of which was Madison Van Lines. They were right in the middle as far as price was concerned. Their policy was you had to cancel within 72 hours to receive your full deposit refunded. At about seventy eight hours before schedule pickup they upped my price without notice from $5.66 per cubic foot to $7 per cubic foot. They also neglected to tell me that where they would be delivering they could not get a large truck to that area and that there would be a transfer charge. The contract we signed was for $5.66 per cubic foot and they would not honor that. Their tactic was that they got me to a place where I was getting ready to lose my window to cancel and get a full refund and upped my price and was to pick me up in 3 days and knew that I could not find anyone else to pick me up. This is very unethical and I would not use them ever for a move. I ended up going with International Van line and they were very professional and very helpful! Think twice before you even get a quote from this company and make sure you asks lots and lots of questions before hiring them.

Moving to Las Vegas was a bit stressful. Finding a mover is even more stressful. There is so much garbage on the net. I pretty much chose Madison based on their reviews and referrals from two consumer groups. The moving experience was fine. I had no issues and my sales rep Brooke was great! I would use again.

I had never been done an out of state move and was so pleased with the Madison moving experience. I found them online listed as one of the best moving companies in the nation. A lady named Maggie, a fellow,Larksdale, and the actual mover Jason were all so patient as I made adjustments in moving dates and the number of pieces to be moved. The driver and actual mover was very careful in wrapping, proctecting the stuff. He obviously knew what he was doing and cared. He even helped send off an unwanted weird intruder that walked by and leered at us as we moved. Do not forget to discuss an approximate pick up date and delivery date. And have cash on hand to pay for the delivery as checks are not accepted.

I used Madison Van Lines to move my family from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to NY. I hired MVL due to their positive reviews. I had a 5 bedroom home but downsized because I moved into the city. IVL sent their foreman Mike who was very professional and did a great job packing. The move arrived about 1 week later with no damage. We had a good experience so we have no issued giving them 5 stars.

I have made many moves that my employer took care of so this was the first move I had to deal with and pay for. This was too much for any person to deal with! The sale of my home, retiring, and buying a new home for the last time. Very emotional for my wife who was constantly calling our sales rep at Madison Van Lines and actually getting them on the phone when needed! Well, delivery has taken place recently and this is also the first time I have done a review for any company. I highly recommend this company.

My sales rep Brooke, was great at walking me through the moving process and she was very realistic in terms of what to expect. I quoted with Madison based on good reviews, and chose them even though they were higher than other quotes. Be aware: 1. The upfront service was excellent but when my estimate was moved into a scheduled event, somehow the dates we agreed on were lost. We had a unique situation where our household contents were picked up in mid-December because the move was over the mountains into Idaho. I told the movers our ideal window was Jan 2-5, but allowed for early delivery at a relative's house if the ideal window didn't work. Thus they worked with me and picked the mid-December pickup to give us the best chance -- not me, but they picked that date. The "I have relatives in the area who can take early delivery" part was lost when the scheduler took over, and when we arrived in Idaho in January our contents hadn't even moved from Chicago (sat for 2 weeks in a warehouse in Chicago). They hustled when I called about status, and they realized their error, and got our contents to us in ~48 hours. (They only sent one guy, though, and my son helped move the stuff with him.) This all turned out OK in the end, though I can't imagine what a two-day trip from Chicago to Idaho did to that poor guy.... 2. Auto transport: I definitely recommend you don't work with Madison. There has to be a better option. They selected an auto transport service (they're brokers) and everything was OKish -- at the last minute their selected source broke down but they were able to find an alternate who could pick up earlier. Luckily we had that option. However, the estimate I signed with Madison didn't indicate that they literally don't stand behind any of the move. Turns out the transport company didn't pay any tolls, and because our auto license plate could be read by the toll-booth cameras, the state of IL hit us with over $100 in tolls/fines. When I asked Madison to cover the cost, they wouldn't. They gave me the name/contact info of their selected provider and said I was on my own. Their selected provider's phone number was dispatch only; the owner's phone number wasn't picked up and no voicemail set up -- I didn't get paperwork when the car was picked up, either, so I was literally out of luck and had to pay the fines myself. Upshot: Learn from my mistake and do more homework. There must be a company that takes direct responsibility for their transport service -- Madison isn't one of them.

I would 100% recommend Madison Van Lines the owner and his crew really when out of his way and helped me with a move over from Milwaukee to Sunnyvale. Listen there are a lot of companies out there but trust me when I say this, these guys are the best!!

I just wanted to take the time to write this review because i think these guys really deserve it. I moved from California to New York and i thought that the moving process was going to be difficult but it wasn't all i had to do was speak with their costumer services and they got all the information ready. They took care of everything and although it took a week for my stuff to arrive everything was there and was in the condition i left it. Thank you Madison Van Lines i will use you guys again in the future.

Everything was fine until they got my deposit. Then they stopped answering my calls or emails. I ended up paying about double what the estimate was, so I think it was a bait-and-switch sort of thing. And they also double charged my credit card for the deposit -- which they wouldn't fix so I ended up having to cancel the second charge through the credit card company. It was a really terrible experience overall -- way more expensive than I was quoted and a number of items were broken that I wasn't reimbursed for. There are a lot of moving companies out there, I'd suggest looking for a different one.

Worse service service I had with this folks. I worked with lady named Maggie Harlow, she charged initially $500 at the time of booking, was telling goods could be shipped in 5 to 14 days. After I did booking, she changed her word say it took 7 to 21 busses days. I lost trust with business them. Moreover, after picked up goods , there is no communication and contact. I have many complaints about my interaction with Madison Van Lines, but for brevity I will summarize 2 reasons why you should NOT hire this company. (1) They tried to get me to sign a gag order, and (2) they hire local carriers to move your items and therefore take zero responsibility for anything that goes wrong during your move. Move info for those interested… (1) After 2 months of back and forth, they offered me only $250 for well over $2,000 of damaged and lost items. However, this was under the condition that I sign a legal document forbidding ANYTHING negative comments, by ANY method of communication, FOREVER. I have the document to prove it. How dishonest a business practice is that? I suspect there would be many more negative reviews online if the company did not have this policy. (2) They refuse to take responsibility for anything that happens during your move. This is because they are simply a logistics company. They hire local movers to actually move your items, and claim they have no legal responsibility for anything the movers do. They also will not provide you with the name of the moving company, until the day of your move. If ANYTHING goes wrong with your move, good luck getting them to take responsibility for it.

Hi - these Guys are just agents , middle man and not the actual company who do the moving. No Star and if possible something below it . Reasons - the call center never works only if it is new sales they pickup for any other option they don't. also they are not actual moving company by them they give it to multiple agents - the one who delivers at home don't have a clue how many items and all promises they do it are just fake when you place an order . they say all items that we pack we are responsible , but at end they say it is not in agreed and you will never get any refund or support . I used MVL based on recommendation and they were amazing. We started at 8:30 AM and finished moving into my new place at 11:30 AM. Ihave never seen someone pack and move boxes that quickly in my life. It’s a great price as well and they packed everything, with nothing broken.Would definitely use again and totally worth it.

I contacted this company a month in advance for an interstate move. The lady I spoke with was great, we made the arrangements, set up the time period, I paid 1/3 cost. She was to call me the following week and she didn't. Come to find out, she got sick. But her coworkers didn't pick up the slack until I was calling and chasing them down. TWO DAYS BEFORE THE MOVE... they call and cancel on me. Their company had overbooked because my original contact had gotten sick and nobody else followed up on me as a client. They then could then not find another company that would take the job, and certainly not at the last minute. Had they gotten onto this immediately like they SHOULD have, there would not have been an issue.

What a nightmare! The estimate I got on the phone after going through the house and listing all big items was 1/3 the price I had to pay at the end. The moving specialist named Glen kept saying that we did not need to give him information on small items that would be boxed. He estimated the cubic feet we would take up on the truck and gave us a "guaranteed" estimate that "could not" be more. It might be less because he overestimated by 10%. When the truckers arrived on the day of the move, they walked through the house and immediately said that Glenn's estimate was way off the mark. That it would be much more. I tried to contact Madison Van lines and Glen to question the situation and left several messages,texted and emailed Glen and got no response. Glen mislead us on the price, the number of packers we would get and on the number of days it would take. They promised 7 packers who would pack us and move us in one day. 2 guys showed up and after many text messages to Glen we got 3 additional guys on the 2nd day. It took them 3 days to move us. I recommend that if you are moving go with a company who can do a walkthrough of your house. Madison Vanlines is a moving broker. Once they get their piece of the pie for getting the contract, which is the initial 25% you pay, you are left in the hands of the trucking company they send you. The truck we got had no ramp or lift. My initial estimate was $9,700 and my final bill was $27,000, where I had to come up with $20,000 in cash in a matter of 4 days. Stay away from Madison Vanlines! They lowball your estimate. The fine print says if you have more items than initial estimate you will have to pay. Of course we had more boxes than initial estimate, Glen took a stab in the dark about the number of boxes because he did not want any information about our smaller items. We were set up from the start!

Absolutely horrible. They won’t answer, haven’t shown up even though they were scheduled to come at 2pm. It is now 7pm and the driver stopped answering my calls. We have scheduled flights that cannot be rearranged—it is absolutely unacceptable for these guys to show up whenever they feel like it. Madison Van is just a company that hires third party and apparently incompetent and lazy movers, and conveniently they don’t take responsibility for what these local movers do. Do not ever call this company. Anyone who leaves a great review was truly really lucky.

I hope this resonates with anyone thinking of doing a long distance move with this company. “You should be ashamed of yourself for how you sell honest people your moving services. I will never recommend your moving company to anyone I know. People entrust you with a huge part of their lives and you take advantage of this emotion. I have had one of the worst experiences of my life dealing with your so called 'moving company ' where you contract out your work to a third party that has NO IDEA what the job is supposed to entail. Unprofessional, inefficient to say the least. My only hope is that you start being honest to other people that use your service.”

Do NOT use Madison Van Lines!!! They are a broker that claims to be highly skilled and professional, but they are probably the worst moving company with whom I've ever had the misfortune of working. I recently used them to move from NY to FL. I provided my inventory with exact dimensions of everything, including all boxes and furniture. I was quoted a final price of $1,906. I even confirmed with their representative Jill the day before my move my exact inventory, and she still said everything would be $1,906. To my surprise, when NYC Movers came to pick up all of my belongings, I was told my price was actually $3,000! When I questioned this, I was told that even though my inventory was 100% correct, that the Madison Van Lines representative totally undercut my total cubic footage. After six weeks of going back and forth with them, they are now trying to deny any responsibility for this. They will ignore you in all hopes that you will just "go away". Well, I'm not "going away". I am moving forward with legal action against them, as they breached the contract and have been extremely unresponsive. I also submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, as their unscrupulous and unethical/shady business practices need to be shutdown! Referring to these people as moronic is an understatement. I don't want any other potential customers to fall victim to this horrible, deceptive moving broker, so beware! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

Absolutely awful. First they raised their "estimate" price by 50% after arriving at the house. I understand being a little off but adding 6 thousand dollars after arriving is ridiculous! Then they flat out lied to our faces when telling us they had to unload and would return for our items and NEVER came back! We were closing on our house a week later and eventually had to rely on friends and family to collect our items so the new homeowners could move in! Now we are in South Carolina closing on our house and they have just informed us they have no idea when they can deliver even though we had an agreed upon delivery date 2 months ago! They are telling us it could be up to a month AFTER our agreed upon delivery date! And of course now I can't get a response from anyone in the company! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I was terrified having the responsibility of choosing a mover to move us over 2000 miles! I would never recommend anyone to use Madison Van Lines. In the beginning, they were very helpful and reassured us that everything with the move would be taken care of, including storage for a week. When I moved out of my apartment, everything went very well. The movers were kind and moved my things out respectfully. That was the last time that things went well during my move. We were told that the moving truck would arrive on a Saturday when we called and followed-up with the company on Thursday. We were told that someone would call on Friday with the expected move-in time. Friday came and went. I called multiple times and left a message. On Saturday, we tried calling again. Since they deliver over the weekend, you would think that there would be someone on-call over the weekends. This was not the case. The movers did not arrive that weekend. When we called on Monday, we were told that there were “truck issues,” but that they were “appalled” that the movers did not call to notify us of this. Later that day, I received a call from the movers that they would be there between 6:00 am – 8:00 am. The representative from Madison Van Lines called saying they would be there between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. The movers arrived the next day at 6:00 am. My things must have been in the back of the truck because they put someone else’s things on the wet grass outside of my apartment while they took out my things. The movers were not friendly and tried to get in and out of my apartment as soon as possible. My bed was not assembled correctly, and they left my apartment a mess with tape. My television was also broken, as was my wall clock and ironing board. As my mom and I were unpacking, we realized we were missing a box. The movers left in such a hurry that we did not have a chance to count everything. The inventory was done so poorly that you couldn’t tell how many boxes were even counted. We notified Madison Van Lines and they said that they would inquire about my missing box. Of course, we never heard back from them. That was also the time I realized I was overcharged for an elevator fee. With a call, and three e-mails later, I was able to get a refund on my overcharged elevator fee. I had to tell the representative that I would write a review in order for him to reply to my email. The claims process was also a disaster. No one from Claims Service International ever reached out to me about my claim. The entire process is done online. In my missing box were my kitchen knives, silverware, NutriBullet, among other things, and again, my TV was broken, my clock, ironing board, and wood wine rack. My things cost approximately $500.00, and the amount that the insurance company “awarded” me was $11.88. This is a slap in the face. I would have rather them denied my claim outright. Everything in the box was denied because it was not reported at the time when the movers were here. The movers that arrived at 6:00 am, sped through my apartment, incorrectly assembled items, and left my apartment a mess. I will never use this company again and I implore you to look at other options, even if they cost more money. You clearly get what you pay for.
