I was incredibly disappointed in the move experience. While the day started positive, with them being on time and being polite, I can't say much else positive. I paid for my mattresses to be wrapped and they were not. This ruined my mattresses as it was raining and there are now greasy black marks all over my new mattresses. They also lost the hardware to one of the beds and mirrors, and therefore could not put them back together. What made things worse was the movers completely lied and told the office manager that they handed the hardware to my boyfriend as that is their protocol. That never happened....he wasn't even there when the movers were finishing up at the old house. They lost it and lied. Lastly, my electric recliner chair and sofa set were unplugged to be moved, but the plugs did not accompany the furniture and it can't be found. So after paying too much for this move, I am out of pocket for hardware and new plugs for my furniture.

I have used G & G Movers several times for small moves - setting up family members in Assisted Living facilities and have always been pleased with their service. The moving crew are energetic, friendly and professional; they lovingly moved each piece of furniture as if it was their own. Another important factor is that they are reasonably priced. My only complaint was in connecting with them to make the reservation. The recorded voice options never got me to a real person which was extremely frustrating, and no one responded to my voice message. When I finally did connect, the clerical booking staff did not match well with the values of the company, or the top notch follow through that was evident at every step thereafter.

The 3-man crew that moved me was respectful and careful with all of my things. I had lived on the 4th floor (no elevator) in an apartment & know that this was grueling. I am extremely pleased with the moving service provided by G&G. I had a storage locker that I needed to be emptied and the contents moved halfway across the country, but I was unable to be there in person to oversee the emptying of the locker. There was a large piece of glass and an antique dresser with a mirrored top that G&G packed up and successfully transported...no damages!!! I had several other fragile items as well as many boxes and some other furniture. Everything arrived safely and the movers on this end (Vernon and 2 others) were quick, professional and helpful, even when I changed my mind about where I wanted some items, usually involving 2 flights of stairs. The cost was extremely reasonable, $300 less than the next highest bid. Bottom line: these are trustworthy, careful, and polite movers who do a great job.

It took 4 gentlemen and 2 trucks to move all of our belongings, and while we may win the award for most-boxes-ever, they remained calm and friendly and professional the entire day. The worst movers. They damaged all of my furniture. Do not use them!!!!!Their crew came to my home high on drugs. It took them 15 hours to move. The crew was so unprofessional. I utilized their storage while my home was being built. G&G was bought by Bayshore. During the transition, I received a phone call that my items were being moved to Bayshore. Needless to say, when my home was finished, I went to retrieve my items. I’ve never seen so much disrespect of other people’s property. It appeared my items were thrown around, holes in my mattress, chandeliers were broken, bedroom sets were damaged, mirrors chattered, bikes bent, rugs had holes and dirt all over them etc. I’m now fighting with Bayshore to fix what could be saved. The worst experience ever. G&G is taking no accountability.

We recently used G&G Moving for a move from the Boston area to Middletown, DE. We found G&G Moving through U-Pack and we are glad we did. They were very helpful in coordinating with our trucks's arrival. I received several texts on and around the date for the truck to be unloaded. On the day, I received a photo of one our our movers and another text that told me they were on the way. We used another company in MA to pack the truck for us. The difference in the communications was night and day. Our 2-man team from G&G was efficient and happy to place our things right where we wanted them. I am happy to recommend them and to use them again if the need arises.

I recently hired G&G Moving to move a one-bedroom apartment's worth of furniture (and a whole bunch of boxes) from Oklahoma to Virginia. I'm so glad I did! G&G Moving offers everything I've ever wanted -- and never thought I would find -- in a professional mover: honest, knowledgeable people; quality, reliable service; and competitive prices. Jessica was wonderful to work with while setting up the move, and Vernon was just terrific on moving day and during the two-day move. You can tell how much they care about their craft and their clients. All of my belongings (including a lot of glass and other fragile things) arrived on time and in the same condition as when they left -- nothing was broken, dinged, scratched, or damaged. Vernon also took extra special care when transporting a 200-year-old heirloom table, which I really appreciated. I've found a mover for life!

As a real estate agent, I refer different companies every day to my clients. Vernon has never let down. He's moved me twice. When two of my children moved, Vernon was the one and only call I made. They do a wonderful job. Even when things are tough- tight hallways and 3 flights of stairs ( in the dead of summer), the guys were always laughing and joking. They're local and small enough to make you feel as if you're their only customer but large enough to move you where ever you need to go. Vernon's wife runs the office and makes the paperwork painless. You won't find a better mover.

I wish I read these reviews earlier! Same awful experience for me! I blame both Moving Staffers AND U-Pack. I hired U-Pack; they connected me with Moving Staffers. I was unhappy with my load-in (in IL) and my load-out movers, G&G, wanted to show up at 6pm on Friday after working all day in the 95 degree heat! I was told they’d be there at 9 AM!!!!! I unloaded the truck myself all day while waiting for them to arrive!!!! And none of these companies were terribly upset / concerned about any of my complaints! Damaged furniture; boxes left behind at my original destination; no-show, really????? Stay away! Pay more for a van lines moving service. You get what you pay for!!! I’d like to rate ZERO stars!!!! Per your Reply, (sorry, I don’t know how to do this any other way), your company confirmed the move, gave a time of 9 am, then kept moving it back in 2 hour increments all day (Ms Gibson) That does not sound like a company that wasn’t hired or expecting to work for me! Honestly, at 59 years old, I was physically harmed by your inaction to complete a contracted job!!!

I cannot say enough good things about G and G! From the quoting process to moving in our final piece of furniture these guys were a pleasure to work with. My quote was spot on and I only had to pay about $20 more because we went over the 2hr minimum slightly. When they arrived at my home (on time) the power was out on our entire block. They had to move everything 3 flights in a dark staircase rather than using the elevator as planned. No one complained they just got the job done. I would recommend them again and again!

Prior to using their company I never hired movers, big mistake. I think the business is family owned and they truly care about the clients they serve. Would use them again and again. We have very mixed feelings about our moving experience with G&G Moving. I would like to start with the positives: Our two moving teams (led by DJ) were excellent and we were very pleased with their handling of our belongings. They were very careful to not hit walls and worked tirelessly all day long. Through it all, they were polite, kept us informed, and engaged my young sons in fun ways that kept their mind off the stress of moving that children can experience. We made sure to take care of the crews with their choice of breakfast and lunches, and tipped them when the job was complete. The loading crew arrived promptly as stated. One of the three crewmen started off the first day complaining of chest pain. My husband, being a heart patient, strongly advised him to listen to his body, and let his bosses know. We were told HQ was told about this issue and, as a result, this particular crewmen continued to work, but on lighter duty. We were surprised at this decision, and very worried about him for the remainder of the days. At the end of the loading day, we were advised that not everything would fit into the truck, and the crew moved what they could into the garage, for a second truck to pick up on the morning of our closing (Monday.) My husband and I spent a better part of the day in-between (Sunday) moving the remainder of the items into the garage. It was supposed to be a day of rest, but we had no choice, given the situation. The crew arrived early on Monday morning, and were able to finish loading our belongings onto a second truck, before the new owners came for a walk-through of the garage area. The crew then arrived at our new home in the later morning, and worked the remainder of the day to get our belongings into the house. Two large items were broken, but the crew was very honest and forthright in telling us right away. The crew was very careful with our antique baby grand piano, and spent some time thinking about how to move it into the house before trying anything, which we appreciated. At the end of the day, Jessica called to finalize payment. The final total of our move was $1,000 more than what was quoted, which put us in a very stressful situation! After going through the quote and final bill side-by-side, we saw that the labor was twice what was quoted. The crew reviewed and said there is no way that house could have been done at the price quoted, and not being experts in the moving business (we have never used a moving company, and haven’t moved in 11 years), we believed them. That being said, some early communication from HQ would have been appreciated (“Hey heads up, this job is taking much longer/more difficult than initially thought”), so that we could mentally prepare to pay so much more (and juggle our accounts to budget for it.) When the move was quoted in March, I was given the option of a quote by phone, or to have someone walk through the house and write the quote. I chose the latter, as I felt I would get a more accurate quote that way. Additionally, the house had several additional pieces of furniture in it when the quote occurred, which we ended up getting rid of before the move. So to have to pay an extra $1,000 unexpectedly for an inaccurate quote, has left us rather disappointed. After the expense of house selling and buying, we are left making tough decisions as to how to proceed with our finances until we can recover from this unexpected expense. To end my review, I’d give G&G Moving a 4… the crew was outstanding, but the HQ, in the end, gave a grossly-inaccurate quote that was $1,000 MORE than what we were originally told. Additionally, allowing one worker to continue to work with a precarious medical issue is also a serious concern. And for anyone reading this review, please be aware that what may be a “conservative” quote should really be scrutinized!!! A suggestion is to request an actual moving crew member to review how many hours and trucks to really put on a quote!!

I shopped around for a few weeks and came across this company. The prices for the move were so great I was a bit hesitant. They beat all of my estimates. I did my research and gave them a try. The workers showed up on time, they also were patient with my family since everything wasn't completely ready, and they were even mindful of my 3 year old when they had to leave the door open to load up the truck. It was about a 2 hour drive and they even beat me to the location. I'm very big on service and from start to finish it was a great experience. So I did my due diligence and checked the ratings for G&G movers. All seemed fine. The quote for our move was much lower than others we had called and they sent multiple reminders via email to me with confirmation of our moving date. The 3 gentlemen that they sent were fine. They were polite, courteous and friendly. However, they were extremely slow. In fact my husband and I started disassembling our desks and sofas for them as it appeared that it was going to be a long process. Some times it took the 3 of them quite a while to look at, rearrange and look at again how they were going to move things out of the house. We actually did NOT take everything that was on our list as we just needed them to move the main items to the new house!!! Again, my husband and I started putting our furniture back together ourselves as they were moving so slowly and we did not want to get burned on the cost!!! But we did!!! We ended up paying over $400 more than our quoted price. Which, to be honest was close to other companies quoted costs! I did call and leave a voicemail regarding our dissatisfaction but have not gotten any response at all. I believe they under quote their customers just so they get the business and then burn you when they claim it took an extra 3 hours to move you!

This is my second time doing business with g and g moving. The first time was having a complicated dresser put up and i was blown away by the service. This time i did a complete move as well as removing and putting my tv back up on my bedroom wall. Vernon and his wife is the example of how all businesses should operate. I am a business owner as well and after dealing with them it encouraged me to reevaluate and come up with some ways to improve my clients experience. One of the small things that stood out was after he puts together any of your new items he gives you a break down on how to operate it etc.... most don't do that. I only used this company because they had good reviews. Workers were very nice and respectful. They worked hard and fast that’s the only reason I gave two stars. During the move someone hit the moving truck and the office charged me for 15 minutes over because the drivers arrived back 15 minutes late after my move. For that reason alone I wouldn’t recommend booking this company. The contract is designed so that you some kind of way end up oweing something. The groupon deal isn’t what it seems. I would never use them again!!!

Such a fantastic experience. We received bids from 3 different companies to move our items in storage and an apartment to our new house and this bid was right in the middle, so we went in knowing nothing and not expecting anything but our stuff to be moved. Vernon and Jessica were great with communication and answering all of my questions before the move. The day of the move- Jessica and her team were beyond amazing. She packed that truck like a Tetris Master and the guys were all in a great mood, never complained, joked with us, played great music, gladly accepted Gatorade, and finished in record time. We had so much heavy furniture and they maneuvered our stuff with barely any scratches or marks on the wall- nothing a touch of paint wouldn't hide. Not all of our stuff was in a box and it didn't even phase them- it might have even made them happy to not have to pick up a heavy box for a change. They put everything where I asked them to, put our bed back together, and were done almost hours ahead of time! It's been over a month since they moved us and we're still so thankful and in awe of how well they moved us. I recommended them to my MIL who is moving as well and I highly recommend this company. For people hiring them: Box and label as much as you can ahead of time, have plenty of cold bottled drinks, keep the bathroom available, (snacks wouldn't hurt either). And tip well!

These two gentlemen were very courtesy , helpful and handle all my belongings with great care. I was not present for the delivery but my aunt as well thought Vernon was very professional and helpful during the delivery. It was an extra plus to work with Vernon because we were able to have our TVs mounted to the walls for a reasonable additional charge, since we are new to the area and don’t know anyone to assist us. I would definitely recommend this company.

I was extremely satisfied with the service that the G & G Moving Company provided. The entire staff was professional which started with scheduling my move, which was only 2 days prior to my move. This is a family owned business and I see why they are so excellent in the service that they provide.These gentlemen did waste my time or money by dragging the move out for the sake of being paid more. Another company that I contacted required a $200 deposit. But not G & G, they gave me an estimate and depending on how long the move took that is what I was charged. Since I was a repeat customer they lowered my rate. And since the guys were so efficient and fast, I paid a lot less then expected. I know that I will use them again and would recommend them to friends.

Alonzo and DJ couldn't have better to work with. Everything they said they would do, they did and did it right. They helped to overcome some obstacles like bad weather with an icy walkway (uphill). This was all done with good humor, on a Saturday that should have been their day off. Hats off to both of them. Highly recommend this moving company. On the day of the move I received a text telling me they were on route. They arrived within the time frame given. Very professional, friendly and fast. I showed them what was being moved and they did the rest. The leader of the team gave direction and my stuff was loaded and on the truck in no time. Move from Maryland to Delaware and once we got here I only had to show where things went and they took care of the rest. I highly recommend this company I also paid less than the quoted amount because they finished an hour earlier.

As a Realtor I have a lot of options when it comes to picking a mover—people are always pitching their services for my clients. I have moved 6 times using professional movers of every company you have seen on the road. When it came time for my most recent move a family member suggested I give G&G the opportunity to bid on our move from Florida to Maryland. Vernon and Jessica Gibson came and assessed our home inventory and needs (full packing service, flat screen tv mounting, and a few days of storage) and gave us a very competitive quote, as well as the assurance he was not just moving our stuff—he is looking for our referral to our friends and family and the only way to get that was doing the best job he could! Jessica handled all of our logistics in the office securing dates, working with our employer for relocation payment, and scheduling professional team members to be on time, courteous, thoughtful and friendly. Vernon showed up at 8am ready to pack my nearly 3,000 square foot home with 2 more professionals that wrapped every piece and securely boxed all of our belongings with labeling and organization being a top priority. The next day the team came back and proceeded to play the largest game of Tetris with my family of 4’s belongings to make it all fit perfectly on the truck. Vernon assured us of his intentions of driving and stops so we would have a timely delivery when we arrived in Maryland. Move-in day arrived and the G&G team did not disappoint. They not only had our moving truck but their two chaser vehicles full of tools to assemble any furniture that needed it, and tips and tricks to make it all smoother. His Maryland team was EXCEPTIONAL providing courteous service and making sure everything went where it was supposed to. Vernon mounted our TV’s hiding all wires and electronic parts behind the wall looking amazing. My son was stoked to finally have all of his game systems hooked up correctly and working seamlessly. Without hesitation I would recommend the G&G Moving team to EVERYONE I know. Of all of my 6 state moves this has been the least worrisome knowing G&G was handling our things and putting such a priority on making happy customers.

G & G Moving is simply the best! I've used them for five moves in four years and have recommended them to numerous friends. Most of these jobs involved moving a 1-bedroom's worth of furniture into and out of a storage unit. Vernon and his team of employees worked efficiently and carefully each time, with clear communication and calm and friendly demeanors. As a result, my furniture (mostly from Ikea, so not the sturdiest stuff around) has made it out of each move with not so much as a scratch on it. The process of scheduling a move is simple and pleasant, thanks to Jessica's attentiveness and patience. I had an awesome experience with G&G Moving. My TV went bad, it had an extended warranty and needed to be sent out for repair. I had no idea how I was going to get this TV off the wall or who to call. During my search, I remembered I had seen G&G Moving on facebook. I contacted them and they scheduled an appointment in a couple of days. Vernon removed the TV from rack, packed it in the box, and took it to UPS to be sent out for repair. I really didn't expect him to do all of that. It took a few weeks to find out if the TV could be repaired. Turned out it couldn't. I Had to buy a new TV. Only took a couple of days to get on schedule. Vernon returned and wall mounted the new TV and made sure everything was setup and working. I could not have asked for better service. He went over and beyond my expectations. I now know who to call for moving, as well as TV mounting and setup. Very reasonably priced. Vernon is punctual, knowledgable and professional. If you are in need of movers, using G&G is a MUST. They quote great prices and reasonable. I called over 10 different movers in the De area for my move up to NYC and G&G was my instant pick. They offered a great quote that wasn't a ridiculous amount compared to many of the other companies I reached out to. My assigned movers, Marty & Mike were AWESOME. They came with great attitudes and did a job well done! They were very thorough throughout loading and decided to give me a nice little surprise when we got to Brooklyn, NY to unload. It happened to be that my full length mirror cracked while loading and instead of simply apologizing, they made a stop on the way up to a department store and bought me another full length mirror which I ended up liking more than than my original one!! :) SO KIND OF THEM. I can’t say enough positive things about this company. They had a great rate, on time, professional, friendly, easy to work with, and accommodating. They provided an 8 hour move with two trips. Took apart and reassembled furniture damaged nothing! I also liked that upon arrival they all introduced themselves and if there was any damage to my existing items they noted it and pointed it out.
