Moving is always stressful but Larry and his team were so helpful and professional! They know and care about what they do which really helped put me at ease. Would definitely recommend!

We hired Sterling Moving and Storage for an interstate move from CT to RI. The distance was about 80 miles. We had two very large truck loads which together were the equivalent of a tractor trailer. There were two teams led by Larry and Andre and the move occurred over two very long days loading in CT and then unloading in RI. Larry was in charge of the move and I cannot says enough complimentary things about his demonstrated energy and work ethic, communication with me, leadership of the men, professional packing and handling of all our belongings and most importantly his can-do attitude. In addition to the team leaders there were 4 hard working men that worked very well together and had the same personal attributes as the team leaders. They took such good care of our belongings many of which were antiques and other high value items like a baby grand piano. You cannot go wrong with Sterling and always ask for Larry and his team.

This was more stressful than selling my house in Ct. The worst Customer service and followup I have ever witnessed. If you have a salesman named Paul Ryan come to your house, don't believe a word he says and if the move gets a little tough, he'll just bail out on you. He comes across as very professional and soft spoken, but what he told me and what took place was a 180 degrees. He lied several times to me about what I should expect. Starting with the night before I was to be moved I'm contacted by an Allied Van driver telling me he's moving me. He knew for 5 days, but I never received any notice of the change from Mr. Ryan or Sterling. I was promised a full crew from a Florida N/A office in Tampa to move us in and nobody but the two guys on the truck from CT. showed up. My wife and I had to help move and it still took 8 hours because one of the movers was lazy and had a very poor attitude. We're in our 60's and it was very stressful difficult. We had damage to several walls, torn mattress pad and they chipped my cherry desk. When I finally spoke later in the week after several attempts with Mr. Ryan, and asked what happen and if he could do something for us, he simply gave me a 800 number and said call them, and than stated, "this situation is above my pay grade". I was taken back any that response. That's why I'm painfully writing this review because he was so arrogant on the phone and could have careless what took place. Never once did he even say I'm sorry for the confusion or apologizes for all the changes. Nobody from Sterling ever reached out to at least acknowledge what happened. I'm not enjoying writing this and I could go on, but I feel other people should know this and be prepared for last minute changes. In ending, one of the gentleman who was at my house in CT., told me that he didn't call because I might have changed companies and he didn't want to lose his commission..Interesting comment...Sterling Movers failed and never once reached out to my wife or me. My move was completed on Nov. 3rd, 2018. If they did, maybe I wouldn't have written this review......

I would have to say I was surprised with Sterling North American Van Lines exceeding my expectations. I had numerous delays of which they rescheduled without any problem in the actual packing and move out of state. I also was delayed in taking delivery of which they worked out a window which exceeded my needs. The Driver was professional and was attentive and understanding to our frustration with the delays. The moving crew was professional and identified a few issues and was upfront with a few damaged articles. I elected to take the insurance package of which any damages will be covered. I have given the experience a five star rating and would recommend Sterling North American Van Lines. Moving is a chaotic time and the moving experience exceeded my expectations.

After the movers left we found some items missing. They were a small child’s desk (which was a family heirloom) and the glass to a table top. My guess is that they were broken and the movers didn’t want to own up to it. I can understand that accidents happen but admit to them. It calls into question the integrity of the movers and company. We have moved 14 times (we are not newbies) and we have never had a piece of furniture go missing. We also had every box labeled as to what floor and room boxes were to go. Again after they left we found several box on the wrong floor. We had to move them and they were very heavy. So watch out if you are considering using them.

Staff was good too deal with and provided all the information I needed. They also provided all the various boxes and packing material we needed, just to bad I didn't know that before I purchased a bunch. The truck driver and his staff were the best. Very friendly and helpful. Made sure everything was packed and loaded just right. At the other end of our destination, several hundred miles away, the same care and service was provided.

The crew we had was unbelievably great. I don't think they ever stopped moving. The way they packed the trucks and delivered our stuff. Nothing broken and handled with care. I highly recommend this moving company so much my brother-in-law also used them after us.
