Absolutely miserable experience. First, they didn't show up on the right day (after scheduling a month ahead of time). They wouldn't pay for a hotel room that night either as I was without a bed. They overcharged on what was supposed to be a "free" service and wouldn't refund. The lied. They were deceiving on their price. They tracked mud through the house, the day they finally did arrive. And although I have no proof, I'm pretty sure they stole one of my baseball jerseys. It was in my closet when they packed my wardrobe box, and not there when it arrived at the new place.

We recently moved in January. Moving has to be one of the most stressful experiences of my life, especially for an out of state move. My Move Coordinator followed up with me multiple times before my move, during my move, and after. She was incredibly helpful, so thank you Jae Beatty! Jason my driver was also great communicating his arrival from start to finish. Even if something was damaged during the move it was fixed immediately. We were so thankful that we didn't have to wait long for our household items to arrive to our new home!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS UN-PROFESSIONAL BAND OF NOVICES. 4 months and still waiting. Was given a quote, I agreed, stuff was picked up, NOV. 20th. A few days later I asked for an invoice so I could pay prior to leaving for over seas and wanting to close 1 bank account. Was told give me a day or 2. Too late I left 4 days after shipping. With no invoice. Waited 6 weeks for an invoice to be emailed to me, I called my bank from Afghanistan ( where I work) made the prompt payment. That was the first week in Jan. Every time I email Dawne, she sends me a generic email saying I chose a "cost Conscience shipping" it hasn't shipped yet, still waiting on space. NOT TRUE. I asked for a price and how long it would take, agreed to terms. Was told delivery by DEC 28th. Then I email Jennifer and she won't even respond, called Alex in Texas, he said that "you didn't pay your invoice fast enough, everything was put on hold". I paid the same day I got the invoice, ( that had a month old date on the top) I have all of the emails to prove this. And Alex said The date I was promised for delivery, was not filled out by them, that I put that date on the form. Once again not true, the date was typed and my arrival contact info was hand written, why would I type some and hand write the rest? He wrote " we can agree to disagree" even though I sent him a copy of both documents with email dated threads. Well now it is 4 month later.(MAR 12th) I will be home in Italy next week and all of my personal things, according to Alex, have finally shipped, 2 weeks ago, expected delivery 30 days. I asked for shipping, company tracking numbers, contact information for the company in Italy that will pick up from port and deliver. He said I will get this to you by end of day, a week goes by and he does not respond to my emails, or answers the phone when my wife calls. Stops ringing and "CLICK" he must have caller ID, and can see the country code for Italy, and can't be bothered. I will be home next week and will be filling a claim of lost goods, and loss of shipping charges, I shouldn't have to pay for a service I didn't receive. I will pay the insurance cost, but that is it. I have shipped household goods to Germany and Italy in the past without any problems. If anyone wants to step up from corp, here is my invoice number. BOL B113-800-8 for my contact information. Fix the situation, and I may revise my review. Up to this point, this review was my only option. Update; don't know if it is coincidence, but 20 mins after posting this got an email from Alex, telling me the name of the company picking up, but said "they will be getting a hold of you". Funny but I hired Johnson not this other company. But better than nothing, barely!

Packing crew was great, but the rest of the move process was not. Overall the communication from the company, particularly when the driver would arrive for load-up, was poor which caused us significant scheduling headaches. In addition, the driver's handwriting was illegible which made it almost impossible to verify that all boxes were properly accounted for and delivered. Worse, they did not have enough crew at the delivery point (only the driver, who was older and in poor physical condition, and one helper for a house full of furniture), so several pieces of furniture were damaged or destroyed due to mishandling. Worst of all, Johnson refused to cover the damage even though the driver certified the damage, we took pictures of all the damaged items (which Johnson was not interested in seeing) and we had the highest amount of insurance they offered. Will never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone; the company is not reliable nor responsible.

Having had terrible moving experiences in the past, I assured my moving consultant Ethan that I needed no more hiccups, dishonesty or problems with my move. He assured me back that he would do everything he could to make it a positive experience and he delivered on all fronts. Ethan has been exceedingly helpful with my move and everything worked out great. This has restored my faith in moving companies. The quote and final price were accurate, truthful and efficiently sorted before the end of my move. This review is well deserved. Thanks again to Ethan, Janet and Johnson moving!

This was the worst moving experience I've ever had...and due to employment, I've moved about a dozen times in the last two decades. The driver was discourteous to the workers that were hired to move my goods out of the house, causing them to leave before the job was complete. As a result, the driver loaded the truck himself. Upon arrival, several of my boxes were crushed (including ones marked "fragile") and plastic totes were bent beyond re-use. When I pointed out the damaged boxes, the driver stated it was the fault of the men who had loaded the truck. Since he was the only one loading the truck, that would make it his fault, but he refused to take responsibility, even when that was pointed out. His response was that I could "file a claim." Although the other employees with Johnson were polite and helpful, I will never use them, or any other Mayflower/Allied mover, and would not recommend them to anyone I know. If I could give them less than a star, I would.

Shortly after Victoria came into my home it was abundantly clear that she had expected me to clean up my home for her prior to her visit. She decided that we weren't a good fit for each other. Maybe because I wanted her to pack up everything as I had previously asked several times. Either that or my house was just too messy for her. I'm sure this is a great company if they like you... But if you drive a Honda or have a messy house this isn't the company for you. They are too good for you.

As a United Van Lines Representative, Johnson Storage & Moving was a real disappointment! We waited two days for an in home estimate, Scotty, the Representative, showed up unprepared. He had no company fliers, brochures or business cards. He spent 10 minutes maximum and said he would send the quote the next day. No word back the next day. We researched to get his number again and he ignored our calls and texts. Why anyone would do business with a company that conducts themselves so unprofessionally is beyond me.

Parking, laundry, showers, they truly go above and beyond to make sure the drivers have everything they need, had a hiccup finding labor on military base last time I was through there but once again they went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my delivery was covered, special kudos to Joe and Dennis

These folks made our move very easy and pleasant. Ethen and Angie called us several times before the pick up date, at the day of the move, before the delivery, and at the delivery date to make sure everything was going smooth. They are trustworthy. We had few broken glasses which was normal in the move. They called us several times to make sure we can fill out the claim forms and if we need any help to file claims.They also offered us sending a specialist to repair any scratches or damages in case we found any. Overall we were really happy with their service and we definitely contact them for our future move. Special thanks to Ethan for his friendly attitude while maintaining his professionalism. Went Awesome, the move coordinator, Jae Beatty, sold me from the moment I talked to her, and was the reason I went with them in the first place. Turned out to be a perfect move despite all my previous reservations from horror stories I had heard from others. The packers packed way better than I ever would have, labeled everything, and then the movers came the next day and not a single issue. Our stuff actually showed up earlier than normal(again probably just lucky there) and all in all went about as smooth as possible. Thanks again!

From beginning to end....Door to Door so to speak I had the best experience with Johnson moving & Storage. I moved from Centennial CO to NJ and they held my hand through it all. As a seasoned 12 yr prior claims adjuster I had heard it all and vowed never to have any company move my personal property anywhere but the service I got here and for the price I was very impressed that I would recommend them to anyone! James the truck driver was exceptional. He was there after the Packers had done their job and then he was there in NJ and made sure that all was accounted for correctly. He also put the items he had dismantled in Colorado together in NJ for example our huge King Bed! An excellent experience as they did what they promised! Thank you!

The move went as expected. They lost two tabletops for an outdoor patio table. When I made a claim (less than $250). They denied it because they could find it in the truck, two weeks later. So, I think I will use someone else next time I move.

We recently moved from Parker into storage and from storage to Franktown. Movers were great! However, did not have a good experience with our coordinator, Belinda. There was never a call asking how everything went, I asked her to return a call after the move was complete and she has not done that, move was July 1. Belinda's communication skills are horrible, she really needs to learn customer service. The experience with her is the reason for the 3 stars versus 4 or 5. Thanks.

People are nice and helpful but there always seems to be a weak link in the chain when using Johnson. I would recommend them for local moves mostly and suggest communicating with the movers when they are packing your household items into the truck.

This company is awful and I would highly recommend you choose a different moving company if you are considering using this one. My husband and I were getting out of the army and this is the moving company who was contracted to pack our stuff. They pretty much threw whatever was in each room into boxes with no rhyme or reason. Many things have arrived broken or missing crutial pieces (I’ve only unpacked about 1/2 so far) They didn’t check our deep freezer prior to moving it, so when the driver assigned to move our stuff went to pick up our boxes/furniture from storage he refused to take it because he said there was a bunch of rotten stuff in it. But they were sure good at going through all my food while packing it and making a nice big pile of “things they weren’t allowed to take”. A few furniture items I asked to be plastic wrapped prior to moving because they are not water proof and would be severely damaged if water I’m got got on any part of it. They did as I asked and plastic wrapped it but when the driver was taking everything off the truck in Oregon (where we moved to) the said furniture items were no longer plastic wrapped. He informed me this was because the movers didnt put the item number on the outside of the plastic so they had to unwrap it to take inventory when loading in Colorado. Overall I am completely and utterly displeased with this company. They’ve costed me so much money and I highly doubt I’ll get reimbursed for most of it.

This move was a disaster. I would suggest that you read reviews of every moving company before you select one. I understand that accidents will happen in moving, but careless disregard for property is not acceptable when you pay a high premium for a company like United that has had a decent reputation. We selected United Movers as our two prior cross country moves were without incident and we felt that our recent move from Lone Tree, Colorado to Stamford, Connecticut would be fine. We bought full value insurance and listed two high value items for special handling. The movers that brought the items into the apartment in Stamford had already taken photos and listed damaged boxes and furniture before they arrived. They were embarrassed and apologetic for the condition of the items that appeared to have been tossed into the moving truck with little or inadequate wrapping and total disregard for anything marked fragile. Furniture was badly scraped, boxes crushed, glassware broken, a metal plant/lamp stand missing, and a red velvet couch ruined. The special TV box, clearly marked as TV FRAGILE, appeared to have been dragged across a concrete floor. We are not satisfied with the settlement amount that the claims department offered and are appealing and probably will go to arbitration. The red velvet couch is damaged beyond repair and we expect full value for this piece. The move was May 23, 2017. It is August 11. If our settlement is not resolved satisfactorily, I will upload photos in a second posting. The one star is only in order to post this review. I would give this company a minus 5 star review.

Communication with jennifer .....was superb but, documents had so very many errors and the actual moving coordinator dropped the ball big time. She would barely communicate at the beginning and didn't forward details to customs as she should have. 2 stars because jennifer actually did a phenomenal job. Major frustration in other areas though.

They were the only moving company that I contacted who would send an agent out to my place to assess what I was moving and give me an estimate based upon my belongings. They were able to move me with short notice and everything went smoothly and quickly on moving day. The movers were strong, careful, and efficient. I would highly recommend using Johnson.

When I queried it they refused to correct the invoice and basically made up some rubbish about consolidation and packaging. I feel conned and do not recommend this company. They are not honest. Our moving and storage experience went well. We had great customer service starting with our sales representative and with the packers and movers. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We had to move twice in a short period of time and Johnson delivered as promised. We did have a couple of items that were damaged in the moves, but we purchased the insurance and our items were fixed and replaced quickly without a lot of red tape or follow-up. I would recommend Johnson Moving and Storage!

I was scheduled to have them come by my place to quote. I was contacted by email saying they need to confirm this appointment. I could not reach anybody when I called the number after work at 5:30pm nor was a voicemail available to firm the appointment. I sent an email to the person who tried to reach me. I confirmed by email saying I will hold my appointment for the quote. Nobody showed up. I called the company. Nobody was able to find my appointment. Very scary to hire them if they can't hold quote appointments.

Absolutely horrible! I requested a moving quote and made an appointment for a Thursday at 12:30 pm. Someone named Jay showed up, took my information, and said he would have a quote for me that night. He didn't send me a quote until the following Monday! I immediately accepted the quote. THE DAY BEFORE MY MOVE WAS SCHEDULED, I got an email (no phone call) simply stating that my move could no longer be accommodated. No explanation, nothing. We ended up renting a uhaul truck and having to do it all ourselves at the last minute. Completely unprofessional, horrible experience. Do not use this company!

The pick up and packing went very smooth and the crew was great. The unpacking and unloading was not as smooth. The lead guy had an attitude with my wife while we were doing the final walk through and things were not put back together correctly. They blamed the damage to 2 of the dressers on the fact they were IKEA furniture; 1 was not even IKEA. They didn't take suggestions we would give them and they were frustrated once the advice we had given them turned out to be correct.They left without having furniture put together correctly or in the spots we wanted because they "needed to get on the road."

They were really excellent - they were accurate in estimating the cost, in coordinating all aspects of the move and in answering my many questions, in picking up on the date specified and delivering on the date specified. I would highly recommend Johnson Storage and Moving and would use them again in the future!

I had a disappointing experience with Johnson Moving & Storage involving an office move. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I think the packing crews were high on something. The packing crew loaded the items in the truck without putting protection between the office desks and book cases. Consequently, there was so much damage and scratches on the furniture by the time it arrived at the destination. I would not trust this company to move my dog house after the disappointing experience I had with them. Be aware of the reviews on this website before you hire them. You would think a company that has been around as long as Johnson would place more pride in their reputation. Unbelievable.

I had living in the same house for 18 years and never moved more then 30 miles in my life. Needless to say I had collected a lot of things over the years, many of them fragile and important to me. When it came time to move over 1500 miles away, Johnson Storage and Moving was the best partner to get this done. They worked with me from planning to completion. They delivered on all their commitments and the onsite crews exceeded my expectations. They were not the least expansive mover I could find but at the end of the day, they were the best value for the dollar and I would use them again.

I was disappointed. I was assured there would be plenty of space on the truck, as they would be bringing a large truck, when the estimator came for our bid. On moving day, they did not bring a large truck, they loaded a large number of shelves which could have been disassembled if necessary first, then they ran out of room on the truck at the end. They strapped my patio furniture onto the back of the truck! This was not just a short move across town but a move up into the mountains. The moving crew on the day we moved in was not very professional and seemed in a hurry. One crew member was throwing a tantrum and cursing because my leather couch was wrapped very well and he could not get it unwrapped. Several things got damaged or broken, but honestly, I don" even want to deal with this company to file a claim. I thought by going with a large, reputable company we would have a professional crew and move. I was wrong. I do not recommend them.

Highly recommend you go with a different moving company. Below is my email to Johnson's Management after they tried to charge us for fixing our bed which they couldn't put back together. Also, we have a custom table, that has sentimental value, they ruined which we're waiting to hear back on how they plan on resolving. "This is a huge a mistake on Johnson's part and I am completely upset over how your company has treated us. We will not be paying any additional charges as outlined below. First - The third-party charge indicated in the attached invoice is for a company who our sale representative Scott (copied here) hired to fix our Sleep Number because the movers who returned our belongings were unable to put the bed back together. I was advised by Scott that this would not be our responsibility to cover as this was Johnson's fault and not ours. To add, Scott told us he would be following up the next day, but never called us and still hasn't called us weeks later. Second - We told the initial movers who came not to take apart our dinning room table as it's custom table and it would extremely difficult to put back together. Of course, the movers did take apart our table against what we said. When the table was returned, of course, the second movers were unable to put the table back together and at that time we were advised by them AND Scott there would be ANOTHER third-party company coming out to fix our table. With that said, still to this day, Scott has not called us nor has anyone come out to fix our table weeks later. Third - I've had to take a day off of work to be home because of Johnson's unbelievably terrible handling of our move. On the initial move, we paid to have our oven and refrigerator moved since we had a pipe leak which destroyed our floor. The initial movers did not move our fridge or oven because they said they couldn't get them out the front door, no one was here and the front door hinges were stripped. This is complete and utter lie as I was home, saw the movers and they saw me and I was able to take the door off without issue both times when the appliances left and came back. Tom (warehouse manager) is aware of this issue."

Please please please take reviews seriously about this company. They will lie , deceive you until they get their money. Even after that doesn’t stops, more bills will be your way. The worst. I should have take the reviews seriously instead of letting Tina convenience me they are great moving company.,They are good until they got my business, now I don’t even get response to my emails. Plus , packing my household was far from professional packing. They pretty much used my old boxes and didn’t even open them, just taped them. I was told everything will be packed professionally and everything I packed will be open and repacked. Well, I have a photos to show nothing like that happened at all. Worst part of this we are only in the beginning of my move, there still US custom and Turkey custom clearance and delivery to my new place. If they did such a terrible job now I can’t imaging the rest. Again, have I mentioned I do t even get response to my emails anymore.. I paid for this move out of pocket however felt reassured to use Johnson's since their name was provided by my corporate relocation group. Johnson's had the best estimate out of the four moving companies I contacted and they were the only one's who were willing to work with my schedule and deliver according to my timeline. I moved from Colorado to Pennsylvania and I was surprised and very pleased that the same team both picked up and delivered my things because they were able to reassemble the items, like the flat screen, without any issues. My delivery was in downtown Philadelphia and they also provided shuttle service since delivering in the rig wasn't an option. Everyone I worked with was professional and always returned my calls in a timely manner. This was a very stress free move for me and my family.

Poor customer service. Small, in-town move took all day - the crew was supposed to be 3, but was only 2. Front desk staff at the Jordan location are rude and very difficult to work with. At least 4 pieces of furniture were scratched during the move and unable to get a return call from Johnson to rectify the situation. After the move we were told to call and schedule pick up of our boxes. After 5 attempts to contact someone for this, no one would return our calls or emails. I have moved several times, state-state, in-town, and this was by far the worst experience ever. They only reason they get good reviews is because they give everyone who leaves a good review on google a gift card if they leave a good review, which my husband did, but still has not received the gift card. Use any other moving service and I am sure you will be much happier you did!

We contracted with Flagship Van Lines to move from Canton, Ohio to San Diego, CA and were among the 1200 victims of a national moving scam run by Russian mafia out of south Florida. The thirteen shell companies were eventually busted by the US Dept. of Justice & the FBI. Our goods were stored in a Cincinnati warehouse for three months along with those of a couple dozen other families. It was a tragedy for everyone concerned Enter Johnson Storage and Moving Co. the company we hired to move our household goods from that warehouse to our home in San Diego, once the FBI had released them to us. From the very first contact, we were impressed with the quality of Johnson's people and approach to the "Rescue Move" situation. They scheduled a truck and sent their "Driver of the Year" Ron Smrz, to the resuce, all the way from his normal routes on the west coast. Jim and Mark Johnson took personal interest in our situation, and Don Hindman oversaw the move flawlessly, while the extensive paperwork was handled by Janet Buczek without a hitch. We were of course nevous about hiring another moving company, but Johnson's people were so responsive to our every need and request, we felt safe and secure from the start. They gave us a very reasonable price and then discounted it $1000. dollars because of the situation. Also, after the move, we received a refund of $700+ dollars because the actual weight was less than the estimated weight! The move itself went smooth as silk. I flew to Cincinnati to oversee the loading. Ron Smrz and crew worked tirelessly to rewrap and log in every piece of our furniture and other household goods. They packed the van carefully, and promised to be in San Diego seven days later. They were at our door on the promised day, ready to unload our goods. It was totally professional and in three hours we had our furniture! They even assembles our bed and tables to make life easier, though they were not obligated to do so. Nothing was damaged! Nothing was missing! Every item on the list of two hundred pieces was accounted for. A perfect move if there ever was one. Thanks to Johnson Storage and Moving, we have our life back after the debacle of being a victim of the moving fraud scam. We are very grateful and highly recommend this company to anyoine who needs moving services. They will deliver exactly what they promise to deliver, and the process is easier than you can imagine. The good part of this experience was the actual movers. They were efficient, respectful and careful with my furniture. The bad news is that I told the man who gave me a quote that I wanted to be the first move in the morning. Since I didn’t hear until the day before that this would not be possible I made all my plans assuming an 8 am start. The afternoon before my move I received a call saying that the movers would arrive between 12 and 1. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the change and was told by the employee that she would check and see if my move could happen earlier and would call me back. She did not call me back at all. Even after I left a couple of messages trying to find out what was going on. At 8 the next morning I called the person that had given me the quote. He said he would check and I would hear from someone soon. Not long after that I got a call from the woman from the afternoon before who told me they were going to ‘fit me in’ some time in the afternoon. Long story short—they arrived at 4 pm. I was never given an explanation for the delay and wasted an entire day waiting for them to arrive. I would not do business with Johnson’s again.

From our sales representative down the line they were all very informative. They made us feel very comfortable and less stressed. Our driver Jeff, and his crew were awesome. Our furniture was padded and shrink wrapped and very carefully handled. Upon our arrival at our new location everything was put into place and put back together. The company didn't have record of my move 2 days before the move but they still made it happen... that was the positive part of the experience. The movers showed up without things that were quoted in the offer like TV boxes, mattress protectors, etc. and the movers argued that it wasn't necessary. They did have the wardrobe boxes delivered so I am not sure why the other items couldn't be sent along as well. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the damage to our safe and grill that they hid from us and we didn't note until it was too late to claim it. I should have known when one of the movers showed me a video of him doing squats with someone's dresser on his back that I should check everything for damages. I was supposed to think this was very cool. We gave all the movers a nice tip but I wished I could take it back when I saw the hidden damages... I will never use them again and don't recommend them!

Their price was the lowest and most inclusive of the three bids we got. Their crews were professional, courteous, and careful. We had one small piece damaged. The claims department was fantastic at walking me through the process and resolving the damage very quickly. I highly recommend them, especially for office moves, it could not have gone smoother!

Caution! DO NOT EVER CONTRACT THIS COMPANY. We paid 4000USD for moving our household goods from TX, USA to the Netherlands, Europe. After a customs inspection in the US they sent us an invoice of 2700USD we were responsible for, and they forced us to pay quickly no matter if you have this money available. After paying those charges too the container arrived 2 months too late at port of destination and now they will not release the container because they want us to pay for another 11.000USD!!! according to Johnson these charges are detention and demurrage charges related to the customs inspection. Who will believe that a customs inspection in the US will change the agreed costs of 4000 usd to a total of 17000 usd? Costs will again increase each day the container is on hold at the destination terminal and they are not replying to emails anymore or are very rude and just say we need to pay for those charges otherwise the container will not be released. They use your belongings to blackmail. They use a customs inspection to create charges and make money. We have already paid 7000usd and have nothing, they threaten us with auctioning our goods if we dont pay for those 11000usd. This business is a scam, they dont advise you in time of costs they already know so they can threaten you to pay quickly. Now we have no other choice to make more charges by hiring a lawyer.

I would recommend these guys again and again. I originally chose this larger company with a flat rate charge rather than a company that charges by the hour in case we had to wait a few hours to unload. In fact we ended up unexpectedly having to wait a few days and weren't even sure day to day when we'd be able to move in. The guys at Johnson, especially Joe at their Centennial dispatch office, were amazingly supportive despite the uncertainty about the unload date. I really felt like they cared on a human level. The loading/unloading crew were great, efficient and fast and actually took in from the start where I wanted everything so that I didn't have to constantly direct them. I am seriously grateful for their outstanding service during a stressful time.

Prices very between new and used boxes. You can sell boxes back (in good condition) despite writing. Much more affordable than uHaul or other packing stores. Very clean and organized and people will bring the boxes and put them in your car.
