Alex was personable and honest in his estimate, the moving crew were all very accomodating and professional, and in the end...the move cost less than they had projected. They could have easily padded the invoice and charged more, but they didn't. Highly recommended and we'll use them again!

I will never use Alex Moving & Storage ever again. I will not refer them to anyone. I was asked by a realtor friend who was looking for a good moving company and asked who moved us. They have a large number of people who are moving into our area and need to connect with a good moving company. I let her know of our experience, which was terrible. The movers stole from us. I discovered my 1988 magnum bottle of Dom Perignon missing. The box was empty. The champagne was valued in excess of $1,000. They took the bottle and left the box to appear it was still there. There are other items that are missing but the champagne was the most valuable. I was pressured into signing off on any missing items by the driver. He was adamant that I sign that nothing was missing. They have lost me as a customer, and could have gained a lot more business with my realtor friend. I can't do anything about it now but I can help others by warning them. It is sad that a large company like American Van Lines allows employees that steal from people. From now on it's NO ON NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES ALEX.

I called in advance, faxed all the paperwork ahead of time, called to confirm 3+times (all from a recorded phone line at my work). I made it very clear that I COULD NOT have the movers NO SHOW. I emailed the person who scheduled the crew the day before the move. I called again the morning of the move. ALEX MOVING IS A NO SHOW. THEY FAILED TO GET A CREW AS PROMISED TO MY HOME. DESPITE SEVERAL PHONE CALLS, A FAX AND AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION ON MY PART, THEY WERE NOT CAPABLE OF FOLLOWING THROUGH. NOT EVEN ON THE MOST BASIC LEVEL.

Have used this group three times in the last 5 years the last of which was a delivery 07/12/2018. The initial contact was with Jerry and he proved invaluable throughout all three occasions. I found the employees quite adequate, friendly, and willing to do most anything to make the moves as pleasant as a move can be. The items transported were perfectly packed. I have no complaints and would use this group again without reservation.

Don't work with this company. Even if you pay for extra insurance (with a twenty thousand dollar move), if (and when) something is stolen or missing, and that will happen, like one of our boxes worth approx $4500.00 that was one of the few boxes packed by us and conveniently not listed on any shipping inventory, you will get months of runaround, stress, and never receive your property or value returned. Horrible horrible horrible. Never again. I warned you.

From the reviews I read about this place, i wonder, are they being reported and investigated? The bus CO. OCTA uses this place to take items people left on the buses hope these people don't have access to it.

If you use this company take pictures of everything, and check as much as possible before they leave your new location. Several items of mine were "lost" along the way, and I ended up with a large expensive glass table top that was not mine. I called several times to ask what I should do with this huge heavy glass table top and never received a call back. Also please understand that your sales agent who was so kind and attentive during the beginning of the process, forgets your name the minute the move takes place. Terrible customer service. A lot of the things that didn't make it to my new location were not expensive, but meaningful or needed at this end. It wasn't worth filing a claim to get $.60 a pound for the loss. And of course, Alex Moving knows you won't bother, so this is how they do business. Sad group of people and I would NEVER recommend this mover.

Alex Moving was amazing - the workers were fierce, thoughtful, careful, and efficient. There was so much to move after 29 years - head spinning for me. The crew worked well together and were respectful of my possessions. I've already recommended them to another pal. I am rating them highly!

Dealing with North American Van Lines has been the single worst customer service experience of my life. We paid them $13k to pack and move our items. We even paid the extra money for insurance in case anything was damaged - turns out if you buy from them, by the way, it's not actual insurance but a "valuation" policy where the people who break your things tell you how much they think the items they broke are worth. We even paid them to pack items because they told us they knew how to do it properly and then they'd be responsible for the items. Well they packed my waffle iron with my stemware, so you can only imagine what else they broke. They broke priceless items that can't be replaced - like family china and items made by my grandmother. They even dented our mini fridge and grill, which shows they just threw our items around. My high value purses, even though I separately signed for them as "high value," were thrown randomly in the truck without the driver having an idea they were designated as high value items. The list goes on and on. Owner, Susan Hall, stopped being responsive and assigned us a claims rep, Jo Garvey, who works part time. After we submitted the list of over 65 broken items we were directed to a Candy Raymor, who then stopped responding and told us it had been transferred to major claims and Jill Crist, who never reached out to us until I asked why I wasn't getting a response. The wool was really pulled over our eyes by the salesman for this company, Anthony Brigis. The move was in November and I've been transferred to now my 5th rep and have yet to see any money for the disgusting job they did. I will be the squeaky wheel and continue to post and warn others about this disgusting excuse for a company until I receive payment. Alex Moving is the company who delivered my items in damaged format. STEER CLEAR!

While Jose the driver and his assistants were great with our stuff and helpful, the office lacked organization and communication. One the first day (after packing) we received a phone call asking if we were ready to receive our stuff. Which was impossible due to us moving across country! But the gentleman called back and explained the mistake. Next time I called the office to get a better estimate on when we would receive our stuff. First the quoted a date AFTER the window of delivery. After I had said that wasn't the contract that we signed, he said he would call back and he did and told us that our stuff would be delivered the last day of the window in the afternoon. This later became the following day. But what really made this ridiculous was the Friday before the estimate day of delivery they asked how we were going to pay. We told them our employer was paying and that they already have the information. They said they would call back and NEVER did. Still haven't gotten a call 2 weeks later. We tried calling back, left a message. We tried to call on Saturday and sent an email trying to figure out what to do about payment. The driver said his bosses were telling him to get payment from us. We had to scramble to get credit cards for payment. I feel customer service was lacking. The managers should have called us directly instead of sending the driver text messages and putting him in the middle. I would not recommend Alex Moving and Storage for the lack of communication, organization and leadership!

I contacted six (6) different moving companies for a quote. Of the five who sent someone who convinced me they knew their business, Alex appeared to be the best quality at the best price. When the movers and drivers arrived they began moving boxes like a whirlwind. Not in a reckless way. They worked hard all day. I was amazed having moved before, with other companies, to see this much hard work. They communicated to me throughout the day and even let me know when they took a lunch break. As hard as they were working and as fast, I was thinking they deserved two lunch breaks! When the truck arrived at our new home, they were again impressive with their speed and effort. They never stopped moving and never slowed down. They had us moved into our new home in record time. Nothing broken! We have moved multiple times in the past and this was a shock to see such a high quality team! I want to thank David, their driver and the movers. I would not only recommend them to everyone, I would use them before using any other moving company!

I called them to arrange some storage space for drop-off of some crates. OK they said, just come down, no problem. So... the next day I was loading up the truck and called them to let them know I was coming down. They said they couldn't take me that day but maybe Monday or Tuesday. I asked for a confirmation this time and the lady said "This isn't going to work, Get somebody else" and Hung UP on me! I am astounded at the rude treatment that I received. I will never call the again.
