Arrived at the end of the window given, loaded all my small boxes into the pods first and then claimed I didn’t have room for the rest of my furniture, but then wanted me to continue to pay them to unload and reload everything (I later unpacked the pods and repacked them making way more fit!) They refused to listen when I told them an item had to go out a certain way and only listened after they got it stuck. I frequently found one guy on his phone or just sitting watching the other guy. They did not wrap things I asked them to wrap after they broke the first one. The one they broke they tried to just leave in the yard broken saying they didn’t have furniture like that and didn’t know how to put it back together. I definitely would not recommend them or ever use them again!

We have been trying to schedule an appointment for about 2 weeks now. The call center gave us the run around until we finally spoke to a woman named Jackie who was nice and finally got someone over to our apartment for an on-site look. Charles, the guy who came by, said someone would call us but we never received anything. 2 weeks later, I have done 2 follow ups and still the same line of "Oh the manager of the branch will call you". No one calls. "Oh an email will be sent". No email. For a company to say they pride themselves in "stress-free" experience, since the time we tried to use College Hunks, it has been nothing but stress and disappointment. We will be using someone else for this move and DO NOT recommend this company.

Really impressed with company. My initial contact was via chat on the website. They were very transparent with pricing structure. Second contact was with the first set of employees who came to haul junk. Professional and courteous. Due to weight of fridge the crew had to come back on a different day with a different truck. Everything went well, EXCEPT they lost a piece to my sons bed with a slide so we can't reattach the slide until we figure out how to get a new piece, also the ice maker in the fridge worked fine until it moved to our new home. Now it just leaks and we can't even have it on. Not sure if that is on them or something with the water pressure though.

This is the second time I have used College Hunks for a move. They dropped a Bombay Chest with a granite top that is destroyed. They offered me $90 for a $750 piece of furniture. The woman over the phone said I signed for 60 cents a pound in insurance. I told her I signed on the page where the mover said I was to sign for the coverage. He never told me that there was another option for 1.20 per pound which the woman said was available. Shady practice and now I am figuring out what I can do further to get what the chest is worth. I will never use College Hunks again.

We moved most of our possessions ourselves. We only used the moving service for living room furniture, a piano, a refrigerator, our kitchen table, and a few miscellaneous items. They were friendly , showed up on time, and worked quickly. They were not careful with our items. They broke the leg off of our big living room chair, chipped a piece off of my entryway table, and chipped paint off of my great grandmother’s chest. They did not wrap most things in shrink wrap and my furniture had scuff marks all over them. When we asked them about the items that were damaged, they informed us that the chair leg was already broken which it was NOT. They said that because the wood the leg was attached to and the table were particle board, that they would not pay for any damages. We have moved these items before using Two Men and A Truck and they wrapped everything thoroughly and we did not have any broken items.. I am so glad that’s I did not use this company for my whole move. I am very disappointed with this company and will not do business with them again.

We had used college hunks earlier this year when moving out of our home and were very impressed with their professionalism and service. However, after our recent move on 9/10/19 we wondered if the previous experience was a fluke. We ordered two trucks with two crews for our move to our new home. The majority of the move was uneventful except for a major mishap when one of the movers accidentally walked off the side of the ramp. He fell along with our granite topped Bombay chest which shattered the top and dented the front of the chest. After I cleaned, bandaged his leg, provided ice they continued on this uneventful move. What happened later is the reason for this review. The movers that day asked that my husband provide pictures, which he did and stated he would be contacted by their claims dept. which he was. They asked for more pictures, and asked if they granite top “could be glued together”. Granted this is a 3ft x 1.5 ft piece of granite which was in about 40 different pieces. My husband replied no. They asked for more pictures and after multiple calls by my husband to Tena (their claims person) we were offered $90.00. I understand that they do not want to pay $750 dollars we paid for the Bombay chest, however $90 is an insult. We have placed a complaint at the main office. We spend almost $ 1,000 on moving cost and understand that while accidents happen it is the job of the company to back their promises.

They wrapped my dishes so much no wonder it took as long as it did, to jack the price up more. There is protection and there is overkill. What was not protected right was my antique mirrors that were broken when we arrived. The boxes where not marked so i am still hunting for my lamps, cat food, mirrors, etc etc. they put two lamp shades in a box and one shell cascade in another big box which of course was an expense to uses more boxes. The guys were nice, and quick if you consider all the time it took to pack. The quote was not what was charged, it was increased considerably of course. But they called it even for the broke mirrors and scratch on the apt floor. Blah,

Understanding business is business. Appointment was 12:30 to 2:30. Truck arrived at 3:35. Was told on the phone by representative the price was $95 lowest to $345 max. Loaders explained the max was $545 and after 1 hour it was $100 per additional hour. Was not explained this when setting the appointment. Could have been miscommunicated somehow. The loaders where not prepaired, they had no gloves or tools to remove small debris. I loaned them my personal tools to help. After about an hour I stopped them and asked if they would just figure the bill. I told them I would remove the rest. Being a licensed contractor I was hoping I found the ultimate debris removal service at a good rate. I can rent a dumpster twice as big for under half the price while paying two employees hourly to remove debris. Not completely dissatisfied but I will not be using again.

We had a move that occurred at the last moment because of a move in issue with some apartments. I called college hunks the day before needing to move and they bent over backwards to help us get moved. They adjusted schedules and sent the two most professional and caring young men to help move my mothers personal belongings. It was a very traumatic time in her life, losing her husband of 70 years unexpectedly, but college hunks took the worries of moving away completely. I personally have moved many times over my life but I have never had a better experience than I did this day. I can't say enough good things about them. They come highly recommended by my family.
