Unfortunately, the measurements of my new mattress was supposed to fit my bed frame, but it did not; but the movers assisted me in placing my belongings aside for my future use. If I have a need for further moving efforts, I will utilize them again.

My mom and I used Family Moving and Storage for a 3 step move and they were great to work with. They showed up early (even on a Sunday) and when we explained that we had 3 stops, they had no problem at all with it. They really worked efficiently and we were done before we planned since we have had such bad moving experiences in the past with other companies. The moving truck was the cleanest and most organized truck I have seen, and they brought lot's of padded blankets and equipment to wrap, even though we were prepared already. We will definitely refer them to friends who are moving, thanks a bunch!!

If I could give them no stars I would...went to get my items that they "gently" put into a storage unit a few months ago and found out that not only was my TV stand cracked and now wobbles; my 3 year old flat screen TV has an internal crack in it that will cost $425 to fix. When I called this morning to report this to them they were rude and heartless and seemed to care less about their care less work. I will not use them again or recommend to anyone that they use their services...there are tons of moving companies in the valley that I am sure will do a better job than them.

We were pressed for time to relocate after we sold our condo. The two guys that showed up were punctual and supported our every requirement, which included dismantling and moving furniture to three different locations. They worked quickly but carefully and had everything done in a timely manner with no damage to any items. I would happily recommend them without reservation.

Had a positive experience with the team yesterday. Care and caution was taken in wrapping and banding our furniture with expert handling as it was loaded. The move into the new house presented a challenge, but Josh and Chris stepped up and took care of it: knowledgeable, courteous and hard working. They did not take a break until the load was moved into the new house. I would recommend this company.

Worst moving company I ever had, and I move a lot. They told us they were unpacking, but when they delivered the stuff to the new house they just threw the boxes anywhere. (And didn't unpack) Chris was very disrespectful and loud and cursing in the front yard, and all through the house. I believe he was on the phone at the time. John and the other 2 workers were really kind though! It just wasn't a good detail job. Garbage left all over the house and some outside, didn't position 70% of the furniture correctly and just left it there wrapped in the paper. Before we actually looked at the house we tipped them (which was a mistake on our part) just to go back in the house to it looking horrible. Never ever ever working with them again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Overpriced and not good work. Managing system also not good, called to tell them the bad things that occurred and they said that they told us they didn't unpack which is false and that they fired he worker (which is a lie) , So if you're looking for quality movers, do not go with them. Go with professional people. (Also when they were packing they tried on my clothes, items from the house ruined because they put the wrong stuff in the wrong boxes (also stole our boxes that we paid out of pocket for from uhaul) & missing item from the house. Very expensive items. I guess that's our fault since we didn't think they would steal from us. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. LOOK AT YOUR OTHER OPTIONS BEFORE YOU SETTLE FOR THEM. Charged us 6800 at first then when we told them we couldn't do that we could only do 5500, they changed their response really quick and said we can do that. SO IF YOU DO GO WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMAPNY, TALK THEM DOWN, THEYRE JUST MONEY HUNGRY AND WILL WORK FOR ANYTHING AND DO A HORRIBLE JOB AT THAT. *Beware*

I am very pleased. Movers (Chris & Alex) showed up exactly at the scheduled time. They were so kind and considerate. As far as moving the heavy stuff went, they did a Fantastic Job!! Was worth every penny. They worked diligently and quickly. My very full 2 bedroom home was moved 1 Mile away in less than 3 hours. No hidden charges. Price matched what I was told. I highly recommend!!

These guys are great! Their pricing was very affordable and they customer service was great. They showed up on time to move me from north phoenix into Scottsdale and took great care of my furniture. They even help me put a couple beds together. I've used a couple other moving companies before and have always been a little nervous but every one at Family Moving was extremely friendly. By far the best moving company in Phoenix that I have ever dealt with.

I was leery because of other reviews given but the people I spoke to on the phone were very nice and professional and they had a lower rate than other companies I checked out. I had a pleasant experience. They were on time and there were no hidden charges. In fact, they didn't even charge for stairs or appliances, which other companies I priced out did. The movers themselves treated my items with respect. I took a chance and I am glad I did. It saved me a lot of money.

I had to make another 2 trips on my own! They only took 60% of my belongings and tried to demand the money in cash. When i didn't carry the money they charged me which was thousands more then the local other business the "dispatcher" who goes by multiple names and is defrauding people wanted to get in a very uneducated debate about him tampering with customers contracts in order to demand more money. This company is a total rip off! DO NOT USE! IF i could rate them 1 star i would. Pete aka mike aka paul aka dispatcher is the most uneducated business person if you can even call him that. P.s. lets not forget at first he said they don't re use their boxes and thats why we are paying so much money, come to find out- they do REUSE their boxes!! My move across country costed me less than a move down the street half hour away. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my second time using Family Moving and Storage. The first time I had no complaints. This time I moved on a Friday. The movers were snarky and rude. I had several loads of boxes come in completely upside down. Boxes labeled "Fragile" just dropped right in front of me and when I asked them to be careful I got "You should have seen the way you had them stacked, what I am doing is not anything worse than that." They had music playing on their phone in their pocket using horribly offensive language. A number of my large furniture items are completely roughed up. When I called to make a complete on the following Friday ( the agreement says within 10 days) The first thing Steve said to me was "We don't have people working here that would do anything like that". Then proceeded to say "I have a hard time understanding if you had an issue with your move why it took you a week to call me." When I tried to express to him about the music his "outstanding movers" had playing that I found offensive, he talked over me raising his voice telling me not to use that profanity with him. As I continued to try to share my frustration with him he continued to talk over me, yelling, and said that he "was not going to keep listening to me say the same thing over again and he was hanging up now." This is not the way to treat a customer. All he had to say was "wow that is not something I usually hear about our moving teams. Let me check into this and I will give you a call on Monday". But instead he came out the gate completely defensive and with an attitude towards me. UPDATE: I have been contacted by Matt who is a Business Partner. He expressed his concern with the way things were handled and the way I was treated and gave us a gift card for dinner out. He said that without the insurance they offer per pound there wasn't much he could do about the damaged items. His primary concern was how things were inappropriately handled after the move. I appreciate his effort to better handle this situation and to smooth things over. Lessons learned in general: take photos of everything, pay for the insurance if you expect to be reimbursed for any damages at all, discuss how many breaks are appropriate for the movers up front, discuss how far they will be walking to carry things in and out and always expect it to take about 20% longer than you are quoted.

I booked Family Moving and Storage for a local move and they were great... even though I changed dates on them 3 times! It was only about 4 miles, the guys pulled up early and were loading furniture by the scheduled start time. I was working with a small budget and was afraid they might not get everything I wanted loaded in the time I had them for, even though we had already moved half of the items to the driveway and most of the rest near the entry. They had everything I'd originally wanted loaded in half an hour and about 10 large and very heavy boxes of books I'd been planning to move myself, in spite of having to assist me in unhooking a real stubborn host from my washer. Start to finish they were done in about 90 minutes. The rates (1 hour trip/travel charge, 2 hour job minimum) was clearly explained when I booked the job and there was no moseying along to try and stretch it beyond the two hours. Michael and Rene, I believe were their names, each introduced himself, shook my hand, listened carefully as I explained what I wanted, got right to business, and then wished me luck in my new home. They really took so much stress out of my move, and I'd be happy to use this company again and recommend them to family or friends.

Overall I had a great experience. The price was cheaper than another company that I had inquired; the two movers were very fast and even remembered which furniture went to which room. The reason that I did not give 5 stars is because the communication was less than stellar at the end. They called me on Saturday at 930 am to say that the movers will come on Sunday afternoon, but that they will call again Sunday around 930 am again to give me an actual ETA. Sunday comes, 11:30 am has passed, and no call. So I rang them and the guy said the drivers were already on their way. I then rushed to my old place and apparently they had been waiting there for 15 minutes - but no one called to tell me any of this. So that was not very fun, but as mentioned, I had an overall great experience with this company.

Don't hire these guys unless you don't mind having things go missing. I forgot I had something hidden in my couch. When the movers and I got to my new apartment I found out my bathroom was flooded and water was still coming out of the ceiling. I was so preoccupied dealing with that that I did not immediately take inventory of all my stuff. I later discovered that one of the movers had found the machete I had hidden in my couch and kept it for himself. I called the company and they said oh well you should have one inventory before you left. They won't give me back my machete. Family Moving and Storage is a prime example of a dishonesty at its finest.

We used Family Moving and Storage for a move for my mom this week, 5 stars is not enough, 10 stars would be more appropriate. Donald and crew met us at her storage unit in Chandler at 8am sharp per our scheduled appt. time we set up with Jeff. They jumped right into a full 10x20 storage unit, they had this loaded on the truck in 1 hr. 45 min. Destination was in Gilbert, they had the truck unloaded and everything put in the house/garage in 2 hrs flat!! I am throughly impressed with the level of professionalism and respect they had for her and her things. I will be moving to a new home in April and will certainly be requesting Donald and his crew for our move. These guys are AMAZING!! If you're in the market for moving company, please call and request Donald and his crew! I've used multiple moving companies in the past 10 yrs. and not one of them compare to Family Moving and Storage!

WARNING!!!!!!!! THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE FRAUD!!!!!! They use the bait and switch practice. They are extremely misleading and have many undisclosed fees. Spoke with Jeff, and he was very unprofessional, rude, and threatening. This move was for my 67 year old mother, who needed to be moved immediately due to health issues. As if dealing with the stress of that wasn't enough, having a company take advantage of you when you are in such a vulnerable state, is extremely disconcerting, and frankly, highly unethical.. They charge an undisclosed trip and fuel fee, and the mark up on their packing material is insane!! I will never use this company again and definitely would NEVER recommend them to anyone!!

My husband and I did a local move within Tempe. A lot of moving companies said that local moves are a "hassle" and "labor intensive" for whatever reason. Family Moving And Storage never made our request sound like a pain-in-the-behind. Two guys came out and moved all our large furniture from the third story of an apartment complex into a single-story single-family home about two miles down the road. They were friendly and professional. All our furniture is intact and placed in the correct room. I like that they don't have a 4-hour minimum; our move was only 3-hours. Their hourly rate is lower than most at $69/hour. I especially like that they didn't charge us for the wrapping material and blankets they used to keep our furniture safe. That's a HUGE plus. I would definitely use them again. Thanks Family Moving And Storage!

My family hired this company three months ago for a short across town move. We were charged another $100 for an extra charge that was not in our original quote. I let it go because from the horror stories I have heard I figured it could be worse. Today when we unwrapped the furniture that they moved we discovered two of the doors of our tv unit had been ripped off! This was a solid piece of furniture and I still can't imagine how they managed to do this. Save your furniture and go elsewhere. Worst movers ever.

The two young gentleman that moved our belongings were very affiant and took great care with our belongings. I have some furniture that belonged to my grandmother and they took the extra time to wrap the legs on these items to assure that they weren't damaged. We will be moving again in a year and we will definitely be using this company again.

I was buying a home and the closing date kept changing, and I was stressing out! Jeff was very understanding and worked with me every step of the way. WOW, what a team! My husband and I have used other area movers, but found these two for our last move, and this one where we are moving some things into storage while searching for our next home. Jeff, the Manager, has been great when I phone to ask about scheduling, how things are wrapped, etc. Jeff scheduled Donald and Armondo. These two arrived on time, came in and were upbeat and positive as we discussed what had to be moved. They were strong, fast, and careful as they loaded the truck. At the storage unit, Donald was just as fast, and protective of our boxes and furniture, bringing our items to the second level of the storage facility. His efficiency is amazing! Armondo packed our storage unit like it was a puzzle he had done before! All of the time, these guys maintained their energy with a smile on their face. This company has good pricing, especially with the high level Customer Service they deliver. We're using Family Moving and Storage for our next move and any moving we do in the future!

I was quite surprised to learn the owner is not in the business of customer service. Unlike other movers, Family Moving and Storage will ask you for an up-front security deposit which they will not refund under any circumstances. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER! My wife had arranged to have our personal belongings moved into our new house without knowing I had made separate arrangements. Since the rates were so much higher at Family Moving and Storage and they were unable to move my safe, it made sense to go with the other company. When she called back to cancel with more than 2 weeks notice, the owner in a very jerky manner gave us an earful of "this is our policy" and charged her credit card for $115. The owner admitted he would have no difficulty finding other business to fill our time slot with the 2-weeks notice we gave him and that he makes hundreds of dollars a month taking advantage of people in our circumstance because of his unfriendly policy. I would highly recommend finding a mover who values customers more than their policy!
