This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
To many kids come here. So while they are watching the movies they are non stop talking most of the time and no worker has balls to come give them a warning or kick them out of the theater. Try your luck during the day or after the day that new movie comes out.
You want to know why I give this place a 5 star rating? Well simple; I get to watch any new movie a day before it comes out, I usually pay $7 for my ticket, and I don't have to worry about paying an excessive amount of money for popcorn or soda. Unless you like the high life and going to theaters in the city or anywhere else than go have fun spending your money. But, no place like alpine to make it feel retro.
I've come here since I was a kid! It's great! Great if you don't mind it being not fancy! Cheap, great, and affordable. Except one time I came to watch Black Panther and the theater was packed, behind us there were teenagers who were literally kicking our seats! Also the staff said the AC was broken, so it was soooooo hot in the theater, and on top of that, like I said, it was packed.
It just exists, and it's there. Not too bad.
Place is alright don't get me wrong...
in my childhood it was a very interesting place. I still visit with nostalgia. although tickets can already be bought not at the box office, but online, childhood memories are very much alive. I come already with my children. talking about how it was before
Great place 10 bucks tickets....
The chairs are scratchy and the theater was a little noisy. However, I love the prices for the tickets and snacks. They are decent and the shows are great. I went to this theater twice recently and both times were overall enjoyable.
Not expensive movie theater, even popcorn and drinks are cheaper than other places. Rooms look very old, not cleaned. So u got what u pay
I showed up today with both of my kids for a 4:15pm movie show. Unfortunately the showing was not available the only show that available 6:30pm. They apologize for not updating the system. I traveled to this movie theater for nothing. They should update correctly all of there movies!
This is a great deal for the price. But a part of the painting in the floor got stuck to my shoe because it was too sticky. Sound could be better
They really cleaned up the place very well. I haven't seen anything in theater 8 yet, I hear that's the best theater. I was in theater 4. Chairs are leather-like, nice and clean. I just wish they were not so low to the ground. Other than that, polite staff and still the best price in the area for a movie.
Alpine is one of the few old school Cinemas left. Simple and historic with a respectful and diverse family oriented crowd of customers. The seats in some areas do need some repairs though. Also located next to best comic book store and one block from a historic billiards establishment.
The Alpine has been around forever. I wouldn't call it a beautiful theater or even very clean. The seats aren't very comfortable but they're wide with plenty of leg room. But I like this place mainly because it's nice to still have a neighborhood theater. The staff is nice. The prices are reasonable for NYC. It's a great place for kids birthday parties. Three stars is not meant to be a poor review, because it's a nice, comfortable place to see a movie. Rather, three stars simply reflects how I compare this theater to other theaters with huge electrically controlled seats, more varied vending choices and cleaner accommodations including the bathroom.
They don't have an Icee machine which makes for a sad movie experience (this is a joke but I do love my movie Icees so it's a little upsetting lol). The workers are very bland, basic manners and that's it. Chairs are comfortable, not overly squishy, the temprature is cool as most theatres are. I have yet to see any filth piles.
This place really surprised me! Never seen as dirty cinema like this one. Popcorn is everywhere. Also, we did a purchase of tickets online and when we went to the station to print them out it showed us that somebody picked up them already. Gradually, they solve that issue by just letting us. The other unexpected thing about this place that they have a bucket in each row of sits.
Popular movies play here alot and cheaper prices. Although true, some of the theatres are rather dirty..
This is a nice little quiet theater with great prices. The staff is pretty friendly as well.
This theatre attracts many small children , so the floors are a bit sticky and some of the seats are broken. The other thing is the mens bathroom is quite pungent. It's old school when it comes to ticket sales even if you paid online but didn't print them. MONSTER lines because of the 6 theaters. Staff is nice and courteous. I give them a minus because I saw them in the early morning getting huge bags of popcorn. Not little bags either. Anyway the prices are reasonable...kids and seniors are $7.00 and adults are $10. The 3-D movies are $9.00 for all kids, adults ($10.00 depending on what time you go) and seniors. If you go to their website and click on the movie you want then pick a time then buy tickets, you'll get your price or if that showing time is sold out. I hope you enjoy the show!
The movie didn't start on time. Se literally stared at a picture of a Chevrolet logo for ten minutes while waiting for the movie to start
I love alpine cinemas have been going for years and it's very affordable. Especially on Wednesday. It gets very packed in here so if your seeing a popular movie get there early.
First-time here. Its ok place. Nice seats. They could do little upgrade on building. Sound system. And lighting.
This once rundown neighborhood theater has found a new life, and features affordable prices. But the bathrooms could be better maintained, and you might get distracted by sound leaking from the other screens. But still, it's great to have a place to see films in Bay Ridge.
Old school theater with very rustic experience of movie viewing. I love it. No jazz no frills just simple movie viewing.
Very cheap tickets ($7 earlier in the day and $10 at night) and it's community owned which I love.
I got here I watched captain marvel la llorona childs play lion king etc I like the painting on the wall above
The service is perfect and the movies are good along with the snacks you can buy here
One of the last movie theaters left that I always would go to. Most have closee up,but the Alpine still is a great bargain and its clean.
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE THEATER EVER! I love this place it's amazing by the way I went to see today the movie Secret life of pets 2 so GO THERE RIGHT NOW AND GO WATCH MOVIES THERE! THANKS AGAIN FOR MORE THAN 700 VIEWS!
For a local cinema I guess it’s not to bad. But, it’s very old and it just felt so dirty. You guys need to update the seating too. It was like baseball stadium seating. Uncomfortably close seating.
Bathrooms are atrocious; 50/50 chance of getting a courteous staff member IF you can tear them away from their phones. Always full due to Wednesday night deal of $6 but you get what you pay for and it is the only local theater around. I'll be going to the City and use member deals at AMC and Regal.
Great place, really cheap movies and is kept really clean
Seats are messed up.. but very friedly staff and great place to watch movies!
Because is cheap than other movie theater, a so far my home .. but is ok
I just love every thing about this place it's a good theater and I just absolutely love going there
Very good for a local neighborhood movie theater, movies are very good quality and chairs are comfortable. I would definitely reccomend Alpine if Regal or UA are crowded or sold out!
Its a good movie theater and on Wednesday tickets are only $6 but food their can be a bit expensive.
This place is awesome. Unlike all these corporate cinemas, this place is reasonably priced, and family owned. Friendly staff, awesome atmosphere. Some of the people in the box office have to be more attentive to what movies they sell out. I wanted to get tickets to a sold out show, so I went ahead and bought tickets to another movie. However when I went to the theater there were no seats l, and people were standing. Now when I go to the movie I originally wanted to see, there were seats available. It's safe to assume she completely confused the two. Still the best movie theater in Brooklyn.
Really good place to watch movie.
Nice little theater in Brooklyn. The seats were comfortable. I went there for a kids party and liked that the theater room we were assigned wasn’t huge. If you are a parent, you can appreciate not having to go across a long row of annoyed viewers when your kid decides he/she has to use the bathroom just when the movie is getting good. Also, they have an area to host parties with cake etc. nice theater in Brooklyn, a bit nostalgic of the old days when the local theater was the go to place for the neighborhood.
A good theater to chill with some friends.
One of the best theaters they have all the most recent movies and have cheap tickets as well $10 a ticket and they are $6 on Wednesday
Less than average theater, with ok seating. Saving grace was the cheap prices.
Nice cheap theater. Seats old school.
The price is the right one for a casual movie escapade in Brooklyn
Hate this place. The only good thing about it is the price that’s why we keep going but the place is falling apart.
I mean quick cheap movie . Looks the same when I last went there when I was 10. Says alot.
Absolutely disgusted with the management here. Just went to see the new It movie and the theater was full of very young kids on phones and screaming. The opening scene of the movie depicts a graphic hate crime that is supposed to strike horror into viewers. Instead there were several teenagers screaming homophobic slurs at the screen. I went to tell management but they didn’t even offer a solution other than offering a refund. What a hideous way to run your business. I’ve always loved this place and would recommend it to friends but I will never do so again.
Quiet not crazy theater serving Bay ridge since I was a kid! Was great to be back
Great old fashion neighborhood theatre, a remnant of the past. First run movies in comfort, matinees for $6.
Very good movie theater and the tickets are very cheap
Tried to watch IT Chapter 2 on 9/10/2019 as the movie started a group of teenagers started talking and using their phones. Several times they were asked to stop by other movie goers but they kept on with their disruptive behavior. We finally told staff and they sent someone inside who stood at the back. I informed the staff member who they were and they asked the loud group to be quiet. Staff member left then the group started talking again. Our movie experience was ruined. Teenagers need better parenting and Alpine should kick them out next time.
This is an amazing movie theater this is clean and the people are respectful the the customers and the food is great!
Man has this place went down... Sure the price is good... But didnt this theater get new renovations? The seats all torn, and the floor was a mess... I expected at least someone to clean before the showing.
Great staff and great prices
It's a good family place just wish they never took out the arcade games but staff there is super cool
Very nice clean had a good time thank you
This was my 1st time here. we just moved to the neighborhood and we gave it a try. I would have gave it a 4 star if it wasnt for the girl at the concession stand. She was extremely rude did not smile and made us feel very uncomfortable.
This place is definitely going downhill. The theater literally stunk like a bad mop. There were people talking, just having entire conversations throughout the whole movie, and not one usher was to be seen - they probably fired them all to original a few extra bucks. There are many other better theaters.
Good prices. 3D capable.
Everyone who lives in this area knows about this neighborhood theater I have been coming here since I was in my mommy’s yummy!! Not only could you come for family fun, date night, etc. but they also throw birthday parties where the display your name in the front where the movies are. Very old school and classic in my opinion. Love this place!! Reminds me of my childhood
This theater is great. It's not as big as UA but its cheaper and just as good. The staff is great, and there is a comic book store right next door that has an adorable kitty that hangs out there and they're always nice too.
Good neighborhood theater. $6 tickets in Wednesday's can't be beat
Good low prices and is family friendly. Near a variety of buses and the R train. Comfortable seats and have decent size auditorium's with good sound quality.
Movie was suppose to be at 5:30 but they didn’t let us in till around 5:40/5:45. Definitely an older theater, the seats are very old...
It make me feel right at home.
Low price tickets but the place needs significant renovation of all the facilities
One of the last neighborhood non-chain theaters. Good prices, lots of showtime options. Place is a little untidy sometimes, but never enough to make it unpleasant.
Pretty nice, tickets are cheap! Even the food is cheaper than at other theaters. It's a bit dirty however with sticky floors. Also do not go around the time kids get out of school because this is where they all go and they are loud
This place should be for fun but it's now stands for only money when I go for see the avengers end game show the price was so extremely high and they charged 30/-extra for glasses which all ready I had this is so bad.. I hate alpana cinema now...
Don't ever use the bathroom.
Its great...especially the cheap tickets and food
Theater is inexpensive . The customer crowd can be somewhat rowdy and the theater has old broken chairs. Has a fair selection of movies to choose from
The theater was fine. However the seats were horrible. When I got home, I had such a pain in my lower back. The seats kept shifting & did not support your back.
This is our go to movie theater! Staff are always nice and helpful, pop corn is great! Theaters are always clean! :) Price is great !!! Love this place !
A good movie theater but expensive popcorn and smelly bathrooms and uncomfortable chairs! It’s till gods but I hope they fix it
Terrible. Small. And the employees just play on phones all day. Literally play video games on their phones and looked annoyed when he had to stop to take my tickets. The AM Saturday manager was unprofessional and apparently doesn't know how to make eye contact when you speak to him. Worst movie theater in Brooklyn.
Amazing experience, and I had so much fun there. The tickets were cheap and the food and drinks were decent. Great theater. 9/10
It's a nice neighborhood cinema. Very inexpensive, and the staff is polite and helpful. The theater itself was clean, although the women's room could have been neater.
I Really Enjoying That Place And This Is The First Time To Go To That Theatre
I’ve been coming here for many years now, no complains. Reasonable price and you Can purchase online now too.
It's a small movie theater with rooms available for birthday parties. The fascinating part is having your name posted on the marquee to commemorate the celebration. Supercool. The theater is self needs revamping, but the reclining seats are an added plus to watch a nice flick. Cheers all!
Nice movie teatr i sow today with my girl Move Aladin it was funiy movie we love it, tiket costs cheap, clean good cinema
They have party space for kids parties. It's affordable and easy on the parents. Quick bday cake cutting and then off to watch the requested movie with one beverage and popcorn for kids.
Worst theater ever. I had to leave because the seats were horribly painful.
Best place and great prizes
This is the best theater. I have come here 100 times and they allow snacks into the movies which makes this place superior to all other theaters that check your bag for "safety" reasons when we all know its because they don't want you to sneak food into the place. This theater does not act petty.
Love the pricing on Wednesdays. Only had to pay $6 to watch Endgame as opposed to $20 at other places.
Cost effective, tickets cost arround $10. Popcorn range from $5-$7 small-large. Not the most clean or best user experience.
Love this cinema. Been going here since I was like 3yrs old. This place is absolutely lovely. Cant go wrong with the ticket or concession prices.
I like this place, you can purchase tickets on their website and give your email when you're at the window and/or they have a register inside now where you can acquire your tickets. The popcorn and candy is pricey but that's every theater. The employees seem nice, bathrooms are okay, its quieter in the day then the afternoon. Definitely busy on weekends.
Seats are comfortable and theater is nice but the women's bathroom is digusting. There's pee on the seats and water on the floor.
Nice place. Pretty clean.I saw very clear the movie.
Great theatre for the price you get what you payed for......obviously not the best but not the worst seats are alright screen is alright but seen better
$6 on Wendsay what more can you ask for
Ok for the money, bring a jacket or you'll freeze to death! Could definitely use better snacks. The price is decent though, and the staff is friendly.
Great privately owned movie theater. Nice employees. Nice prices at 10$ a ticket. Highly recommend
Tickets are pretty cheap ($10). Place is relatively clean, soap is very ineffective at washing grease out of hands.
We enjoyed watching the last/new Spiderman
6 dollar wed tickets is awesome. I have been coming here since I was a kid.
You can't beat the price or value. Best place to watch movies in the neighborhood.
We saw Dora and the lost city of gold 5 stars
Alpine is a fine local thearter.
Great place to watch a flick for a decent price and grab a snack
Good movie except the occasional muslims teens talking during the movie and the loud black girls laughing at scenes that aren't funny
A Dogs Journey great family movie. Shared it with Mary!
On one of the hottest days of summer, their AC in one of the show rooms was not working. It was extremely uncomfortable to sit through the whole movie all sticky and smelly. They shouldn’t use that room on a really hot day. People go to the movies to enjoy a movie on the big screen with appropriate room temperature.
Isn't the best in condicion but is only $7 for kids and $10 for adults. So compared with other is a very good deal! Lol Also my son Birthday was there and we have a great time.
Great old school classic cinema.
This movie theater has been here for years. Definitely not the cleanest one but the price they're charging is cheap as compared to big movie theaters like amc or regals. They also have all the up to date movies and it's a theater I went from a child to adult and wish they'll be here when I'm in my 80s.
It so good and the tickets not expensive
Classic go to movie theater. Best in bay ridge.
It's still a good bargain priced theater. I do wish they would renovate the seats soon. Some of them are broken and have worn seats.
One of my go to movie theaters. Place is okay but the ticket price is really good $7 kid and $10 adult. I've been going to this theater ever since I was a child I really like it. I recommend this place if u want to buy cheap tickets for a movie.
Ticket prices are lower than other places, staff are generally friendly and fun to talk to. Good theater.
Great place to watch movies
Incredibly average in the best way
I love this movie theatre. I’ve been coming here for over 25 years. The prices are reasonable compared to other movie theatre’s in NYC. Matinée is $7.00 before 4 pm. Large popcorn, drink, and candy for $13.75, with $30 you and a friend can have a nice date. The seats are comfortable and they recline back pretty well. The bathrooms can use a little cleaning, but who goes to the movie theater to use the bathroom. The staff are professional, I’ve never had any problem with them. Parking can be pretty hectic, so I would suggest to arrive early to look for parking or just walk to the theater. The neighborhood is not dangerous , day or night.
