We went to an early show. When we went in we couldn't find 2 seats together. We told the attendant and she gave us 2 tickets for the next show. The 5 screens all have new reclining seats.

Ok Pricing better than the Dells or Madison. Very comfy chairs. Customer service was iffy at times. Came out to put a little more butter on my popcorn and the machine was shut off for the night at 7:00pm. Then went out to refill my soda an hour later and that machine was shut off. They did offer to turn it on or fill it behind the counter though. Baffles me that after spending as much as I did the machines we are all shut down as of 8:00pm.

I love the reclining seats and it's small enough yet still a really big screen and much better pricing on there snacks then any of these overpriced theater such as Wisconsin Dells. Family-run family-owned and always greeted with a smile and respect. What else really matters right!

Nice new recliners make a world of a difference. Not so smelly in there now. This place is impeccably clean. Easy access and wheelchair friendly, this theatre has very good choice of movies for everyone. Excellent staff and service.

Good theatre with great popcorn and new comfortable chairs. I'm not sure if the new chairs are in all the rooms yet though. Staff is good and friendly and lines aren't bad. You don't pick your seating like in Sun Prairie. Could be positive or negative for some people. Very small bathroom though, so that's why it's a four.

My husband and I have been going to the Portage Theatre 7 since we moved to the area 14 years ago. We like the reasonable prices both on tickets and concessions. The staff is friendly and I enjoy chatting with them both before and after the movie. The process in Madison and the dells are a LOT higher plus they charge tax on the already high prices of their popcorn and soda. I haven't been to the new theater in Sun Prairie, but someone told me their prices are outrageous. We'll continue going to the Portage theater.

I really like that this is an idependent theater and not part of a chain. The sound and picture quality is superior to Desert Star in the Dells. The owners and staff are friendly and dedicated. Definitely a gem in Portage.

I've always enjoyed going to this theater. Small town, family owned theater with owners who are always improving their product. The lounge is great and a regular stop when we are in town. The corporate mega-theaters have nothing on these well-runned hometown theaters.

Was so excited to try this place out. Terrible horrible cutomer service. I get being busy, I get having non stop days. BUT the management is awful. When giving a speech to the entire room before the movie Nathan the manager said I'm here to serve you but I'm not your servant so pick up after yourselves. Ummm who says that to customers no one was being rowdy or anything just awful. Left pretty much right away didn't even bother with the refund Ill drive to sun prairie.

Love the new leather reclining chairs, I sure hope the other half of the theater gets the new chairs as well. The older half is wore out. The chairs hurt to sit in because your butt sinks so far in them the metal frame digs into your back or tailbone.

I've been going to Portage Theatres 7 for years. This is the first time I have reviewed it. It was the perfect time. They replaced all the seating with power recliners. Amazing!!!!

We stop occasionally at Portage Theater on our way home from our Cottage in Westfield..the theater is clean and comfortable with its reclining seats. Pleasant experience with our 3 grandsons at last movie.

Reasonable prices, comfy chairs, and yes, as we are all alcoholics here in Portage, IT HAS A BAR! Lol... No offense guys! I recommend checking this place out as I feel you will most likely be coming back after your first experience.

First experience here and I wouldn’t recommend it. As soon as we walked in the door they demanded that we open our blanket to prove that we weren’t hiding anything inside. Never had this problem at a Marcus or AMC before. Second, the manager seemed very off putting when asked if we could switch out our medium sized drink for the venom cup and pay the difference. He said “no because you walked away with the cup.” It’s a paper cup how expensive could it be? We wanted to dump the old drink into the cup so we could have the souvenir cup but the manager was very rude about it. They advertise these amazing recliner chairs but they were covered in spilled popcorn, barely opened up so there isn’t any recline, and they were set up in the same form as a typical cinema so as you recline you can’t see the bottom 2 feet of the screen. Poor customer service and poor cinema design. I’d recommend sucking it up and going to the AMC in Lake Delton. At least you’d have nicer people and a better theatre.

Sound quality was perfect. Upgraded 2 leather adjustable seating. Plenty of room. Im 6'5" so super important. Love that they have events that go along w/the Hollidays. A place to continue 2 enjoy a good video.

My husband and I love this theater! Being big movie buffs, we love that the theater is so close that we can walk from our house. The staff is always friendly and prices are very reasonable. We love the $5 Tuesdays and try to go on Tuesdays when we can. Thanks for keeping such a great local movie theater alive!

At Portage theater watching the Incredibles. Good deal refill on soda and popcorn. Unfortunately, the staff is lack luster. Dude wouldn't give me an extra cup to put popcorn in for my small son. So I took the liberty of putting in a napkin and spilling it all over the lobby. Then we enetered the theatre before they were done cleaning it. I know I was breaking the rules, but I'm human and I forgot. So they kicked me out. Again causing me to spill the popcorn in a napkin all over the theater. If they could have been more accommodating.Oh and when we entered the theatre a second time it hadn't been cleaned. So they kicked me out to prove a point I guess.

New reclining seat theatres are awesome. The ones that haven't been converted yet are horrible. I would recommend making sure the showing you want is in the reclining seats. If it's not, I wouldn't bother going.
