The wait staff serving is a real distraction. Just when you are getting to the end of the movie they start bringing out the bills and people are paying their bills and asking for leftovers to be wrapped. No thanks will go elsewhere in the future.

We were very disappointed at the food and the service. Yes, the screen was small but it was ok. We used to like this place and the food was pretty good. Not any more. The service is the worse though. We arrived early and were the first ones in so we ordered drinks and appetizers. However, they did not arrive for nearly 35 mins. I watched them serve drinks all around the theater, then they brought one drink to our party of 4. It took another 15 mins for the rest of the drinks, and another 10 for the appetizers. The two pizzas arrived about 10 mins later, and were pathetic frozen pizzas that tasted like the cheap grocery store cardboard type, but cost $15 here.

They don't have the right aspect ratio screens for modern widescreen movies, so when you see a movie here, there's ten feet on either side of the screen that's not being displayed. We couldn't read the locations scenes were taking place in because the words started somewhere off screen. This is practically fraudulent.

This is a completely fine theater, and I do appreciate having good local cinema options. However, it comes with some flaws. The drink and food options are great to have. The space for dining in the theater is also quite nice, rather than the little swing trays you may get to eat off of elsewhere. The projection here is a bit dated though, with fairly low consistency in the color across the screen compared to newer projection systems. Recently, I also had a digital film here glitching. Maybe the processing power is low as well. The screen itself is fairly small and high up, so you cannot compensate by sitting close. You'll end up cranking your neck. Finally, and this is a big one: check your chair for squeaks as you sit. Some are very loud. This has been going on for years. I cannot understand why it's not part of some sort of monthly maintenance to grease these.

Ticket lady ruined our day. 4 of us came to watch incredibles two and usually come to this theather. Apparently there was a new rule that you couldnt buy tickets ten minutes after the movie started. We walked in 9 minutes after the movie started intending on skipping the previews. The lady wasnt even at the desk and we had to run in shouting to get her attention. She then proceeded to tell us it was too late to buy tickets even though it was exactly ten minutes after. Zero customer service, also the added 17% gatuity for customers under 18 is ridiculous.

Wonderful neighborhood place. Yes, it's hard to run an movie theater and keep up with new carpets and furnishings. But remember the first part--- it's REALLY hard to run a movie theater these days. Foxbay has several enjoyable menu items, good beer and has entertained my family for 10 years now. I'm even more excited now that they're hosting the Milwaukee Film Fest. Rock on, Fox Bay. We love you.

Just watched Detective Pikachu here. It was fun and cozy to watch the movie while eating good pizza. I'll also share a personal experience. I was dumb enough to leave my credit card at the theatre after paying for food (being too engrossed in the movie). They acted very responsibly regarding this and I got my card back safely. Hats off to excellent service.

It is not a chain, but privately own theatre. It is great that you can sit down and order your food. Pleasant and friendly staff. Home-like environment. Unfortunately the food is not good. It is not only very boring food (wings, burger, nachos, etc.), but it is also of low quality. Movies are mostly oriented towards kids and teenagers. I would love to see movies for adult population and more demanding audience (independent, international, documentaries, thought provoking and non-mainstream movies).

I honestly would never come here again. The entire place is in great need of renovation and was not even almost worth the $9.50 they charge per ticket. I was surprised to find out that they don't have full sized screens like you would expect at a normal movie theater. The screens here are pretty dang small. The quality of the theater itself reminded me of a back alley dollar movie theater. We ordered nachos which were decent but all of the menu items are grossly overpriced. All in all, I would highly suggest you go to an AMC instead for an enjoyable movie experience.

My kids and I love this theater, and give it 5stars, but do keep this in mind. It is an old school, wonderful, comfortable place to be with your family to see a movie. No crowded feeling as seating is spaced out, food is good, prices are fair, and the screens are not the huge new styles. If you want the most modern, immersive experience, this is not it. If you want to support a cool, local business, something with a unique flavor that's not a corporate "branding you to death" experience, this is it. Sit back with your family and enjoy a drink, some food and a great movie at a great place.

I am sad the reviews average out from so long ago. The Fox Bay Cinema Grill has taken some time to get itself going and the proof is in the pizza, as it were. The food is excellent, the service great and very quiet. Yes, this is not a chain cinema in that the seats are all brand new and the layout is traditional but the food is great, the service is great, and the sound system and graphics are where they need to be. It's a wonderful *neighborhood* theater, something you don't get a lot of anymore. We can walk to a movie, have lunch or dinner, enjoy it as a family at a table or counter bar rather than sitting in assigned seating, and walk home.

I went to a movie here for the Milwaukee Film Festival and the seating was handled very poorly. There are very loud noises coming from the kitchen if you sit on the right side of the seating area (while facing the screen). I would not recommend it unless you're ok with a lot of distracting noises

I have been here many times and every time the service is very sub-par. The person who I bought the ticket from was rude, and the seating it very uncomfortable. Besides all of this everything is expensive and not worth it. I leave this place every time feeling mad for wasting my money. There are much better places to go with better movies, screens, service, and over all better quality.

I loved the movie and it was a nice new experience! However the popcorn arrived after 20 minutes, it was cold and overly buttered. Then to top it off the waiter came back after an hour with our check, it was 5.30, and we paid in exact cash. 5 dollars a quarter and a nickel. Well, apparently they can't count and they were pretty enough to bring back a hand written receipt saying we owed 4 cents. You read that right. I will probably never go back to this Cinema. I will not recommend it either.

Ticket lady ruined our weekend. Me and my family went here to go see Avengers Infinity War. I went up to the front desk and said "Can I get three tickets for infinity war" the lady at the desk gave me three tickets and said the movie started at 12:30. When the movie started we quickly discovered it was "Solo". We then left the theater but Infinity War had already started and so we had to go home. When we went back to the ticket lady she insisted I said "solo". My brother confirmed I clearly said "infinity war" and there is no way I could have said "Solo" I didn't even know the movie existed. This error ruined our plans for the weekend. Very disappointed.

I love being able to watch a movie and have dinner at the same time. Decent pub food options with a full bar. The one negative note is that this place is in need of a update. Compared to a marcus theatres or other chain movie theatre you can tell the technology and furniture is old and lacking. If you’re just interested in dinner and a movie, it’s a solid choice.

Not a great experience. The theater itself was pretty good, seating was nice, but the service was terrible. For one thing, they forgot our order of fries, and I had to go down to the kitchen to let someone know. Apparently the server never let the kitchen know about the order. Finally, near the end of the movie, the server finally brought it, no apology or anything. Additionally, they apparently have a new policy where they "can't" bring you a glass of water with your meal, and you instead have to walk to the bar and fill your own cup and bring it back. Will be going to the Avalon from now on.

Saw First Man in October of 2018 at the same time that Venom was showing. I was happily enjoying a quiet emotional scene in the movie when vicious noises from venom, playing in the 2nd show room, bled through the wall. The show rooms need to be updated and made more sound proof. Other than that, the building is inviting from the outside.

Fox Bay is very family-friendly, always has at least a good children’s/ family movie Showing, and it being a small locally-owned business as opposed to a chain bombarding it’s patrons with an over-whelming stream of advertising, it definitely has its following. We’re lucky to be able to walk to the theatre, have dinner two doors down at The Bay, then enjoy a movie. Love being able to order a beer too! My biggest complaint, cold popcorn! It’s sacrilegious to not have hot fresh buttery popcorn for the show, yet every time we order popcorn, it’s stale. No, microwaving after it’s been popped does not cut it! Very concerning when hot fresh popcorn can be bought at a Little League baseball game, but not in the hometown movie theatre

It's great for what it is. It's overpriced and the food is just ok... But what it's not is a mega-chain and in a neighborhood. That's why we keep going. There is always a kids show playing and the staff is always friendly. I'll pay more for mediocre food to keep it right where it is. I'm glad it's here.

My favorite place for dinner and a movie. As of late 2017 under new ownership. No they don't have "power reclining stadium seats". You can purchase tickets in advance, but seating is not reserved. Main theater is accessible, but the upper two theaters are not wheelchair friendly. The food/drink prices are similar to a family restaurant.

The four times I have been here have varied so much that I could NEVER recommend this place to a friend or family member. The first time, was acceptable, but the movie theater seemed really dirty, and the lobby dingy for the area. But, this first time the service was acceptable. The next three times were terrible. The servers interrupted us during the movies each of the times so much that we missed most of each of the endings. Also when you buy the tickets what they don't tell you is if you DON"T buy food during the movie you still have to pay a fee if it's after 7 pm. So when me and friends went and didn't look at the menu the second time we didn't see the small print that said that. They wouldn't help us out, and they wouldn't even stop to talk to us long enough to tell them how they should let people know when they buy tickets. The very last time the waiter was really rude to us, which was the last straw. Overall skip this place at all cost.

The concept of the movie theater is great, but the service is horrible. I ordered chicken wings with two drinks for my friend and I. Another server walked pass us with our drinks and served it on another table. We had to tell him that was our order. I waited about 45mins for the wings I ordered to no avail. I called one of the servers and asked for the wings again, then he came back and told me they forgot to put in the order and the kitchen is now closed! I waited for the server who took my order, when I asked her about it, she responded rudely that the kitchen is closed and she did not hear us order food, when she clearly wrote it down in her notepad. Then she said in the same statement that they forgot to put in the order for the wings! Yep, she lied! I will not be going back to this place due to the horrible service!!!!! If you go, make sure you keep reminding the servers every 5mins until you get your complete order.

We have been regulars here for years but it seems of late that it's gone down hill. The customer service has really become lax. When we first starting going with our young daughter we could enjoy a light meal and a couple of drinks while we watched a movie, now it seems they come around once at the beginning and you don't see anyone again until you get the bill. Not even an offer to refresh a drink or our daughter water. Today the bathroom was terrible. My shoes stuck to the floor of the men's room while I washed my hands, the mirror is cracked and the faucet was leaking. It's a shame since we would rather support an independent theater but we may need to start looking for other options.

Great time, the food is not bartolotta's which it seems some other reviewers were expecting, mostly pub food, can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches, the pizza can be hit or miss but is generally pretty good. Reviewers also complained about the price of the food, to this I say give me a break the last time I went to Marcus I paid over $12.00 for a small popcorn and soda, you can get a meal for the same price at fox bay. I have never noticed a problem with the sound although could be age related I guess.

I went to see Blade Runner 2049 at this theater and was really disappointed. You can hear the sound from the other theaters, even when your movie is playing. The seats are the most uncomfortable of any theater I've ever been to, they belong in a diner. They don't completely turn the lights off - I'm assuming so that people can see their food? But the Avalon in Bayview serves food and they turn the lights out so you can enjoy the film. Audio was tinny and sometimes dialogue was hard to discern. Avoid this theater if you want to concentrate on the film and not your food.

The waitress we had was very loud, even though the movie had started. We had one drink, she never asked if we wanted a refill or checked on us after. She dropped someone else's food on the floor and left it sit through the entire movie, then proceeded to let an old man, who limped around, pick up the fries. As she was cleaning up, she sprayed the cleaner all over the salt and pepper shakers. It was such a disappointing experience, this place would be a fun place to work at and really easy but these kids certainly made it seem like it was the most difficult thing they've ever had to do.

It's a great place to watch a movie but get your food and drink before or after. The food wasn't good, and we ordered a gin and tonic and a gin martini. The first drink was a tall glass of tonic with almost no gin, and the martini was cheap and nasty vermouth with what tasted like a splash of gin.

Very rude inattentive staff, extremely overpriced low quality food and drinks, uncomfortable seats, terrible sound and bad lighting. On top of that I found a long hair in my popcorn, and I had to pay to park on the street for this awful experience. Your money would be much better spent at the ipic.
