It a bit old and needs an upgrade but it's still very much worth visiting and you can't beat the price of admission, they just hold over the playlist a little to long and should put two cashiers during the weekend and have someone guiding cars.

We absolutely love this drive in theater. There aren't too many around anymore, we were excited to find this one about a hour from where we live when we first moved to Wisconsin. There are 2 screens, so there are double the movies to choose from. It is a family owned business, so you get to see the same smiling friendly faces year after year. The concession stand is very reasonably priced. We eat dinner here when we come, we always recommend the Mama Burger. The grounds are kept nice and tidy. The only thing I can think they could improve on would be to stay open until Halloween and show a bunch of scary movies, even if they are older. This place is great, definitely give it a try.

Everything you always remembered about the old fashioned drive in. A new coat of paint on the screen would be nice but all that aside, it still gets 4 stars just for the novelty and nostalgia. Speaking of nostalgia, I actually saw someone sneak out of a car trunk to get in free. It was like something out of an 80's movie.

If you like old school theater this is the place to be. Big screen projector outside on a nice summer night sitting in the bed of your pickup truck with the radio to volume up the movie on screen while being able to look up at the night sky to watch for shooting stars with someone if you want too. Date night with popcorn and an outdoor movie. Not many Old school theaters are around anymore but this one is. To get a good place to park, leave earlier as this place tends to fill up during the summer in the Dells.

Haven't been to an outdoor theater in years. 2 cars, grandkids. They enjoyed the movie. So did I. The rest room was clean, the concessions were pretty good. Not too many mosquitos. The only thing is one of our vehicles battery was dead after 1 show, and another person's car battery was dead also from using the car radio for the movie sound. Why is that?

First run movies at an honest to gosh old timey Drive-In, how could you not love it! And not one, but TWO screens, with showings every night. Very friendly manager and staff, well maintained, but with old style admission gate and combination projector building/concession stand. This is a slice of Americana that very few people under the age of 60 can remember, and it was a wonderful discovery for me.

We've been coming here for 20 years. It is one of my favorite childhood memories and I am so happy that I get to share them with my daughter. Admission is extremely reasonable, cheaper than a single movie at the theater. The food is delicious and extremely fair priced. The staff are always friendly! This past weekend I was 70 cents short on our food order and said I would run to my car, they said no problem just bring it in if you come back up. I made sure they kept the extra dollar. We make it a point to stop out a few times during the summer.

This is a super cool place that's super fun nowadays. Outside movie theater. They have bathrooms and food. Sit in your truck and watch a movie on a big screen, you get to watch 2 showings the same night.

My family has a wonderful time whenever we come. The whole family gets to see the movie, including our toddler and me! I am usually excluded from movie night to stay home with our little one. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Bring a towel or blanket to cover the lights that shine from your dashboard. We bring lawn chairs so the older children can see the movie with an unobstructed view. Highly recommend!

There was no one directing traffic which made it quite dangerous for those already in their chairs outside of their car. Rather than two cars between poles, there were sections with only one car. If someone had been directing traffic, people wouldn't have been allowed to do this. And it wouldn't have appeared as though there might be open spaces down a row when there wasn't. I really don't think we'll return as it wound up being a pretty stressful situation.

The screen we watched you could see the markings on it..it was very annoying....then I went and got popcorn the kid that gave it to me put very little butter on it didn't shake it or add more butter next time i will bring my own popcorn...then the movie stop playing and we lost 15mins of the movie by the time they got it fixed....very poor place

We absolutely love coming to this drive in that is located new Wisconsin Dells. We go multiple times throughout the season. The staff are always very courteous and friendly. The food at the refreshment stand is a great value. We usually grab popcorn and get a Mama Burger for dinner when we go. They run movies that are out in theaters, are popular and have 2 screens, so you can decide between multiple movies. It is great watching the movies out under the stars. Just remember the bug spray! I just wish they would stay open through at least mid October and have some Halloween fun at the drive in.

A little small, cars get pretty packed in and the screen is barely big enough to see the movies decently from the back rows. Snack Bar prices are a little high but that's what you get when you visit the Wisconsin Dells.

Very nice drive in wish there were more around. This drive in is a little dated but I like it takes me back to childhood. It is family owned and run for ever 35 years. They have a great snack bar great popcorn excellent hot dogs and burgers with the price not really over priced either for being at the movies. If you visit the only warning is they onoy accept cash not credit or debit cards. I would say if you want a blast from past or experience the drive for first time check them out well worth it.

Its a bit run down, but that's really part of its charm. Like a time machine back when I went to drive ins in my teens. I am over 40 and I went into the snack shop and thought I was 13. They have an old working pay phone on the wall almost worth the price of admission to see. Movies worked out okay. Just be sure to pack the bug spray because they got bad for us and they charge an arm and a leg for repellent. Movies were okay sight wise. The first one was a bit dark and hard to see. And there were some sound issues. So normally a place like this would get a 2 star, but its time machine charm won me over.

We went to the Drive in while camping in the Dells on Father's Day weekend, and even though we live over an hour away we are considering going back, just to do a movie. It was really fun. Our 9 year old fell asleep, but had a nice cozy spot in the car to sleep while my husband and I enjoyed the rest of the movie. But even we were too tired to make it through the second show. We will plan better next time.

Edit: I’m editing this review after visiting this drive-in a second time and actually getting to see a movie. While my first experience with Big Sky wasn’t good, the second was pretty great! Getting to watch a movie just like people used to do in the old days is worth the money you’ll spend here. The only complaint I had about my second visit is they really try to cram as many cars in as possible. If you want to leave after the first movie, be prepared to inch out of your spot as carefully as possible. Big Sky Drive-In? More like big lies drive-in! We sat in line for almost an hour only to be turned away due to a power outage. I get it, things happen. But why wasn’t anyone given a heads up? If they knew the power was out, we should’ve been told far before we were. On top of all this, the woman who informed us was very unpleasant. She literally just said “powers out!” And shrugged at us. We left feeling like their slight chance of fixing the power and getting our money was way more important to them than our time and happiness. VERY disappointed.

This has been a fun summer getaway for the family! It is very simple, but worth it. It is off the beaten path from the Dells, but worth spending an evening at! They offer two movies for the price of one, they have two different screens, so you essentially have two options for the two movies you wish to see. Some people don't stay for the second movie, because it is usually past 10:30pm when it starts. They have an onsite concession stand with amazing burgers and popcorn! The only bad thing about Big Sky, which is really no fault to them, is the mosquitos can be terrible and it ruins the experience of enjoying the movie outside of your vehicle. You can easily watch and listen to the movie from the comfort and AC of your car though. Overall, I will keep going here summer after summer and catching the latest movies, A++!

Employees pester out-of-towners. He got after us about our lights and where to park (even though we were told we could park anywhere but the front row) but said nothing to others with lights on, hatches open in the second row or loud fans blowing from air conditioners. The lights will not go off in the Explorer when it is running and radio will only stay on for 10 minutes when off (interior lights stay on during that whole time). So we had to watch the movie with no sound as the air conditioner fan of the vehicle next to us eliminated any hope of hearing the movie. Food was good though. We left after 45 minutes. Probably a great destination for locals. Stay away if you are not a local...waste of time and money!!!!

Stuck in line for 45 minutes at the entrance to be told there was a power outage. If you know there's a problem, itd be nice if you notified people earlier and also if you let them enter so they can turn around and leave.

Great experience for our 3 kids. Brought back memories of when we were kids! This place is a step back in time. EVERYTHING is the same as the drive ins from the 80s and 90s. Rows could be labeled, that part was confusing. We messed up and didnt take our roof top carrier off before hand. Then you have to park in the last row! Luckily it comes off fast so we removed it and parked way closer. Will be back.

The last of the classic Drive-Ins, and this one is a gem! Much of the facilities are vintage, but impeccably maintained. Be warned, it is cash only... so stop at the ATM before you get there. And try the Mama Burgers, so delicious!

It's not all glitz and glam like modern theaters, but that's what makes it special. Rustic and classic look and feel. Prices are extremely reasonable for everything. There is no reason not to visit here. Movies are always a 2 for one price deal provided you are interested in both movies that are showing on the theater screen of your choosing. Stay for one or the other, or both. I'd gladly support the drive-in before the local "big box" theaters. A drive-in is a hard thing to own and run in an area like this, as business is limited to a very narrow few months of the year. Drive-in theaters are a dying thing; support them before they fade into only a memory like so many other things in this world have already done!

We had a lot of fun here!! There weren't too many people when we came, which was nice. The movies both started on time with clear picture and sound. The only things I did not like is that there is only about 2-3 minutes before the first movie ends and the 2nd one begins. That is not enough time to use the bathroom. My other complaint is that this is cash only. Everyone does not carry cash. I went to the snack bar for some food but couldn't get anything because I did not have the cash. Other wise, such a great place to visit and I hope they stay open a long time!

Place is a joke. We were in town for a week, drove to the theater to see a movie and the lady at the counter informed us the movie we wanted to see (that was advertised on their website) would not be playing. She didn't seem to care about customer service at all and didn't want to be there. You can't get a human being on the phone, it's just an automated voice message. I even emailed to ensure it would be playing later that week and nobody could be bothered to respond. Would never recommend, we love going to Drive Ins but this place is such a joke, terrible service, and employees that don't seem to care.
