This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
Absolutely wonderful establishment! Prices are responsible and the staff was very polite. Would highly recommend venturing downtown to check it out!
Beautiful restored movie theater.
Lovely vintage theatre that shows vintage movies and lots of indie work.
Such an easy in-and-out for the pleasure of a classic noir. Thanks!
Really nicely renovated historic theater, with a cozy little bar space upstairs serving tasty libations.
Great old fashioned movie house with updated seating and renovations.
Awesome old time feel while watching specialty movies or newer ones. Good place
Went for the Oscar shirt documentary showing. It was affordable and fun! Great Vancouver staple.
So comfortable. I love seeing movies at Kiggins.
The seats are comfortable and there is a decent beers on tap list.
Love this place! It's a great place to catch old Holiday movies with family and a glass of mulled wine.
#vantalks2018 great show
I love the Kiggins! It's such a fun, vintage-style theater experience. I like the screen and the seating. Everyone was nice and the candy and popcorn were good. They have unique movies that no one else has, and I dig that they play some of the old classics. Thank you Kiggins - we love you - we're coming tonight!
I absolutely love the Kiggins! Awesome huge theater with fun movies - perfect for Rocky Horror Picture Show sort of audience participation. So cool to see a slice of downtown Vancouver's past being preserved.
This is my favorite place to see movies in the Vancouver area. It has a fun interior if you like historic theaters. They have a good selection of Indy films.
Science on Tap always interesting. Wine at Kiggins a very nice start.
Beautifully renovated retro theater with beer and wine upstairs. Best damn movie theater popcorn in town.
Always seem to have a good vibe. Great prices on movies, and a pretty cool upstairs bar (small but feels nostalgic)
Crown churxh is real, no fluff
This theatre puts older movies up, like the Princess Bride. This is nice because most theaters just play new movies. Staff are very friendly.
It was so fun and the staff made it an amazing interactive experience!
We Love Kiggins! It real is a treasure! New owner/oper. Has done a great job renovating it. Downtown Vancouver has destroyed most of its history with the most recent loss of the classic Burgerville, the small grocery store that everybody remembers getting candy at, (that was right near kiggins) and of course the loss of the lucky lager Brewery ! Kiggins is the last piece of history in Vancouver
We LOVE this theater. It always makes for a fun date night + the staff is very wonderful and friendly! Love supporting local. ;-)
Saw the warren miller movie to kick off our ski season it WS a great venue with pizza and beer. I will be back!
Good location. Older building, 1936. Very nostalgic. New seats since I eas last there.
Interior and seats very nice. Good film.
Great parking in the back and the staff is incredibly helpful. Theater seats are incredibly comfortable with lots of leg room. Saw that they do Rocky Horror shows here, would be the perfect place to go see one.
Visited for the comedy show on second Thurdays. Great laughs! The owner is sweet and welcoming. Definitely recommended!
What a classic old theater.
Super excited to see this place re-opened. A little piece of history is a great thing to keep around. The inside is much cleaner and the seats are now comfy. Still has the old time feeling and keeping a low price for tickets is a plus. The movies are hit and miss, but for a family of three we only spent 22 bucks for tickets, small popcorn and three drinks. Don't care what the movie is, thats cheap for a night out.
Great community events!
LOVE this place. Especially the Science on Tap serious. So much fun. It's older but well maintained. Full of culture and spirit.
Awesome retro place...very comfortable seating and reasonable admission/popcorn prices. They make absolutely the best popcorn I have experienced in my life (and it has been a long one). Upstairs lounge is very edgy and cool....place reminds me of San Francisco Mission Street Crown Theater where I was an usher in 60s back when it was in its heyday. Love this place!!!
The renovation is really impressive and they run some fairly off mainstream stuff especially for Vancouver. Prices on concessions are reasonable too!
Great old time movie experience!
Awesome little local theater. They had a radio reimagined show going on for the War of the Worlds anniversary which was a blast.
Good selection of old and new movies in a revamped theater that offers adult beverages as well as the usual movie fair. The remodel to the Kiggins was overdue and had been nothing but wonderful for down town Vancouver.
Nicely restored art deco style theatre. New, reclining seats, good screen. Music was live that evening for silent movie. Well done.
Wonderful old theater.
Saw SAO there! Great venue! The seats are comfortable, the food is great and the theater is really nice. Loved it!
Great Rocky Cast
I really enjoy The Kiggins. The seats in the auditorium are comfortable, popcorn is good, and they play a nice eclectic selection of shows.
Beautiful restored theater brings back good memories
Fantastic local theatre. I try and come by every couple weeks. The staff are very friendly and obviously care about the history of the theatre and the community as a whole. Lots of unique movies and shows. Plus, the popcorn is great! P.S. Ignore Sheryl.
Watched The King and enjoyed it very much.
I love the renovations!!
Prestigious and simplistic. Service is unbeatable, personable staff, and good frickin beer.
Nicely restored movie theatre. Seats were comfortable and employees were pleasant. Upgraded sound was a plus. This is the Vancouver location for the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Theater also shows first run indie films and old classics.
Really great seating and atmosphere for a little theater.
I love the Kiggins! Prices are reasonable, there's a great variety of concessions (including a number of adult beverages, if that's your style), and they choose interesting films you might not be able to find elsewhere. Can't recommend it highly enough. :)
Historic downtown Theater, beautifully renovated. Should have everyone's support!
A fun throwback theater that plays tons of unique stuff that you won't see played in other theaters. They serve beer on the second floor and you can bring it into the theater and have a nice buzz while you watch. Tons of candy you will remember from your childhood, I got a strip of four or five Zotz (fizzy candy) for a quarter. Made me feel like a kid again. Go and have a great time.
It was a nice place to watch Metallica with San Francisco symphonic orchestra!
Big comfortable chairs, good selection of treats.
Enjoy this theater so much! Old school style.
Great little theater, came to watch Neither Wolf Nor Dog. Friendly staff and well maintained, another shining example of why the PNW needs these smaller theaters.
Great restored historical place to see a movie
Nice comfy seats. They have Good pizza and beer, too. There's bathrooms on both floors and pizza is upstairs. There's a nice lounge area upstairs, too. We enjoyed he Talk on Corvids we saw last week, a lot.
Had a great experience watching the rocky horror picture show!
Great location in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. The Kiggins Theatre had beer and wine upstairs and great updated seating. It's a comfortable place to enjoy a beer and a movie or if you like Science, swing by on the second wednesday of the month for Science on tap. The late night showing of Rocky Horror picture show is also worth checking out. Great old theater, glad to see something like this doing well.
Cool theater with old school flavor. It way bigger inside that what it looks like on the outside.
Love the Kiggins. Great surround sound and wonderful staff.
Love this place. Always has interesting movies that you don't get to see anywhere else.
Such an amazing first experience. We will definitely be back.
Rush was playing in the theater and it ROCKED Period.
This theater has been lovingly restored with comfortable seats and digital projection, making it a wonderful place to catch the latest independant releases.
This movie theater is exceptional and outstanding. You can watch some popular new movies but the amazing fact is the variety of special movies. Some good ones you might never have seen before and some you want to watch again and again. The slogan of the theatre is true: Independently minded, community focused.
Pretty large theater. The beer is silly expensive but that was expected.
Retro. Wonderful. Great seating and feel.
Independent theater. They really care about their customers and listen to suggestions. Best popcorn in the world with some great toppings. Nutritional yeast is a great choice that I discovered via Kiggins staff.
Delightful art deco architecture, fabulous entertainment, and a warm, welcoming environment.
Very quaint little Theatre. Comfortable seats, good sound system. Great Popcorn and you can gave a beer in the Theater. Will definitely be going back.
A delightful Art Deco theatre dating from 1936. There's a bar as well, in case you'd like to sip wine with the show. A downtown Vancouver landmark.
Love the Art Deco character of this old theater. I always feel happy when I watch a movie here. Added bonus is the upstairs bar where you can get wine, beer or cider to enjoy during the show.
Great science on tap nights. Love that they renovated and kept the building. Consessions are unfortunately just as costly as any mainstream theater but there is beer, hard cider and pizza available upstairs. You can bring your drinks in the theater.
Just a great small theater with comfy chairs, friendly staff, eclectic snacks and movies I can’t see anywhere else! I drive all the way from Boring, Oregon to see movies here!
I loved this Theater. I saw Shaun of the Dead here. Awesome popcorn and a cool bar. The staff are super friendly. You should check this place out. It was built in 1936 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. It was named after John P. Kiggins the former mayor of Vancouver.
I love the classic film series they run here! It's wonderful to see a historic theater featuring and showing vintage films!
I was extremely surprised how nice and friendly Kiggins has become. The cost of admissions was reasonable, although the concession stand had me holding up my hands thinking I was being robbed. Come on! A medium popcorn, 2 medium drinks, and 2 candy bars was over $30? I highly recommend "Linda Ronstand: the sound of my voice" Great movies.
Good
A wonderful venue with the best popcorn EVER! A great concert at the Art Deco Holiday Spectaculsr
Kiggins is a little gem in our community. Comfy seats, a wide variety of movies and fabulous live events. The owners obviously care about Vancouver and getting intelligent, creative and unique offerings!
Classic old theater in the heart of downtown Vancouver showing the old classics.
BEST popcorn ever! Comfortable seats. Great old time atmosphere.
great piece of local history... comfy, clean, and always a nice place to go.
The Kiggens hosted the Vso' chamber music event. Thank you Dan for the beautifully renovated theater.
One big screen with plenty of seating. The films they show usually don't play for long so see then while they're hot!
What an excellent venue to enjoy a quality film. This is one of the few locations that airs this type. Tonight it was Farewell. People who do not take the opportunity are really missing out. Go online and check out the upcoming presentations.
Such a great group of people keeping the spirit of cinema alive !!!!!! Beautiful architecture!!!
Prices are a bit steep at $10 a ticket. Friendly staff and clean theater however.
I love this place. Quaint, unique movies and shows. Great wine, cider and beer selection. Best popcorn around! Check out the VSO Chamber series. It’s beautiful!
Love this place and it's staff! Very welcoming and community oriented not sure why more people are not filling the seats...this place is a local legend full of history and memories. Support local!
Best popcorn ever!
Went for the Halloween showing of Christine. Short line at the concessions, yet somehow still took forever getting service. Once in the theater, and after waiting almost 10 minutes past showing time, my friend had to leave to go find an employee and ASK THEM TO START THE MOVIE. I don't return to businesses where I have to remind the workers to get to work.
This place has definitely "moved that bus" for an extreme makeover! Before, the overall theater was sketchy and run down. I was actually glad to hear it closed down. Now though, the entire interior got a face-lift. They re painted everything & added a cool lounge upstairs to enjoy cocktails before or after the show! They installed new comfy seats with a lot of leg room but kept the rest of the old theater's architecture for a blast from the past feeling. The sound could definitely use a tune-up and the movie was too big for the screen but I still enjoyed it. A great place for a cheap family night out!
Beautiful old theater. Apparently new seats (very comfortable) according to my friends. Friendly staff. Online ticketing options.
Always awesome.
Love going to this place every month for their Rocky Horrer Picture Show event, will continue doing so.
Carey Helm was a fantastic magician. See him if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed
Old style theater with great theater feel. Visit the upstairs bar before the movie starts
Great Theatre for movie lovers. Reasonable rates. Reminds of Cinema 21 in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Big theater with a bar upstairs but you can bring your drinks into the show you are watching. I'm there every fourth Saturday of the month for the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Friendly Staff clean and inviting
Vintage doesn't get better than this. Enjoy an old classic in a theater that fully enhances the experience. Oh, but it does have one of those fancy wancy sound systems. And great popcorn!
The Noir series is awesome! <3
The place is beautiful, please see all the events that are generated from this wonderful public attraction.
Very classic. This small theatre is a historic part of Vancouver. I came here recently to got to the 'Science on Tap' event, which was a talk on Ebola. They tend to have events like this frequently
Old school theater, stadium seating (great view of screen from any seat,) vintage candy/concession options, friendly service. Movie screen is a bit smaller than other theaters, but you hardly notice after a while. Cozy fun vintage movie experience.
Quaint retro theatre with a focus in older films, history and more!
Very cool old, theater I loved the comedy show
I go here for "Science on Tap" lectures and it's a great venue for that. Good acoustics, good beer selection, and a nice downtown Vancouver location.
Place is awsome!! They serve frozen charleston chews!!
Great independent theater with a solid variety of unique movie choices. Nice little lounge upstairs. Best popcorn
One word really describes this theatre... "Grand." It is drop dead gorgeous, the views are all perfect and the acoustics are great. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the shows offer something for everyone.
I'm not a critic so overall it was just a fun experience.
Local neighborhood theater. A diverse program of indie films, talks, and late first runs. Beer wine and some.food available. A gem.
So fun especially if you love historical buildings. Have a bite to eat while you watch your movie!
Remodeled theater gives you a comfortable seat at a budget price. They also offer beer and wine. Great night out. Just keep an eye on their website or subscribe to get notifications about the shows they get. If you like Anime, they are a good source of shows.
Popcorn costs (real butter) a lot, but it's freaking tasty! Candy is eh fair for a theater and decent selection. Didn't see a movie I wanted to see, but they had a good movie I already had seen playing.
Quaint old theater with the best popcorn.
Love Kiggins. It's a historic get in the middle of downtown Vancouver, the only place on this side of the river where you stand a chance to catch any indie/non-mainstream films. Where else would you have the chance to drink a local beer while watching a classic film on the big screen in a historic venue?
Awesome, went to comedy night. Great time.
Small but great service and choices. Really cheap date! We had a sausage, soda and movie for 2, all for $25.
Kiggins is an awesome theater that hosts many different shows. Loved attending the vintage toy show today and getting some cool things to add to our collection!
Great local venue for eclectic movies, events and music. Small upstairs bar and a real retro feel. We love coming here for any reason we can find!
This place is a Jem. An old school single screen theater with a huge historical significance. The prices are usually a little less than the big theaters and they often show independent films. They also do several community events, often with free admission. The marque bar is a quaint art deco style lounge with a few beers and always one cider. It also offers wine. Everything is kept true to the origins of the theater except the updated seats, which are far more comfortable than there predecessors.
Went for a special screening. It is a great historical theater, with updated comfortable seating.
Great date night!
Go on first `Fridays' for the music in the lounge.
I love this place. Old theater that's been renovated but maintains it's nostalgic feel. Plenty of parking in surrounding area, but you'll have to park on street (possible parallel parking although there are diagonal spaces, too). REAL BUTTER on the popcorn and a variety of movies and shows to see. I attended the Thursday night comedy show and was pleasantly surprised at the caliber of comedians (well worth the entry fee - I've paid a lot more for a lot less laughs at other places)! Brews and Ciders on tap during comedy show, too. My spouse and kid have become regulars at their Friday Fright Nights, seeing Nosferatu, The Thing and the classic, Piranha. Nosferatu is a silent film accompanied by LIVE musicians - are you kidding me? How COOL is that? My preteen and spouse loved it. Highly recommend!
We went to see Miracle on 34th Street. I appreciate Kiggins efforts in having audio Description devices to describe movies. The movie we were there to watch is just to old to have description. Pop corn was great.
Phantom of the Opera was fantastic. The live musicians from our symphony really made it worth seeing. Great show looking forward to the next event here. The theater looks awesome.
This is a great movie theater with an amazing selection of snacks and their ticket prices are affordable as well!
I love the Kiggins Theater. Tonight's show was not something you would see in a mega theater and the theater is wonderful.
I grew up going to this theater. The new owners have done wonders with keeping the old and bringing in the new. It's an amazing place. It's a theater you can watch a movie and buy a beer. Just go you won't regret it. Hollie
Visited for the first time last night to attend the “comedy on tap” show offered every second Thursday. I love that they’re bringing comedy to the Vancouver community! While not the best stand-up comedy we’ve ever seen, we did have fun and laughed quite a bit. I was a bit surprised by some of the jokes/themes because the website had listed the event as “all ages welcome” and so I expected it was going to be clean comedy...it was definitely not family-friendly, and I wouldn’t recommend it for “all ages.” We also seemed to be some of the youngest ones there, they seemed to cater to an older crowd and a lot of the jokes reflected that. The theater itself is really nice!
Love this local gem of a theatre!
Had a great experience tonight! Very comfortable seating too!
Great old fashioned theatre showing older classics, art house types of films, worldwide cinema, etc. Great staff. Cozy lil wine and?beer lounge upstairs. New seats and digital upgrades.
Great experience, comfortable seats. Overall terrific!
Really nice old theater first time in it
Great theater space comfortable friendly staff
Lovely old theatre. Updated and very clean premises. Seats are wonderful and I noticed accommodations for wheelchairs.
Nostalgia abounds in this lovely vintage movie parlor. The seats are modern but they don't clash for some reason. The projector is bright and the sound is big and dimensional. Serving beer and wine in a real glass is a nice treat. I'll be back.
Nostalgia! Great selection of films! Updated sound and digital video! Awesome food selection and beer/wine choices!
Out of the original twelve this is the only single screen theater left. Second run and Art House films. Take you children so they can experience films the way you and your parents did. They have the best seats in South Washington, so comfortable. They also have the best consesson stand of any theater in the area. Adult beverages up stairs for people that enjoy that, I don't. Super nice staff, thank you ladies. I only noticed two things I was not happy with, the movie was projected in the wrong aspect ratio, hint: titles were slight cut off. And they still have a bit of slap echo, the back of the theater needs some sound deadening material. Relax and enjoy the movie without the kids kicking the back of your seat. Go and support this theater.
Wow, I remember going to the Kiggins about 10 years ago. The sears were worn out and ragidy. Nothing matched and it was struggling to stay afloat. Decided to visit today. Wanted to revisit long ago memories. I was so pleasantly surprised, clean comfortable seating, nice concessions and a nice adult beverage bar. Will definitely revisit in the future.
The Kiggins owners treated the previous renters/operators rather shabbily and then ran them out before doing the restorations. Since then, the prices have gone up and many of the movies are either non-kid-friendly or unwatchable. The worst part is that they now sell beer and wine, which is a bit scary if you want to take kids there. Positives: The new seating is very comfortable and nice. We have enjoyed an occasional event there, including a screening of "It's a Wonderful Life," which (surprisingly to me) was very much better than watching it on television. Somehow, they seem to attract more people than the old operation even though the price is higher, so they must be doing something right (is it the beer/wine?).
