I love this theater. Went to Rocky Horror, and had a great time for only 6$! Then the next weekend I got to see Toy Story 4 with my son for an incredible reduced price. Concessions are fairly priced unlike so many theaters in the area. This is a gem in NoVA.

My mom and I went to the cheap movies every Tuesday growing up; it was $1.50 I think, I think it's $3 now. It's a great option if you want a cheap night out and don't enjoy dropping almost $20 per person to go to movies when they first come out.

Love this place! They show late run movies for a reduced admission price. New comfortable seating paid by fan crowd sourcing, new Dolby sound, competitive concessions. $2 Tuesday if you pay cash. I've seen so many good films here full screen without destroying the budget. Highly recommended.

Can't beat a theater that plays movies a few months late and compensates for it by having reasonable prices. The employees here are always friendly and helpful and seem like they're enjoying their jobs. The things that matter have been upgraded - the viewing and sound are great. The whole place feels like a dive, but it's not like they're trying to hide it. We love University Mall Theaters!

Great Value. My only complaint is that when the fill the popcorn buckets, they scoop the broken pieces from the bottom of the bin.... lots of them. Has happened last 2 times I attended. Staff is great.

This particular cinema is easy to spot with an excellent location. It is surrounded with so many shops and restaurants around it. I love the luxury of picking my own seats which is allowed here. Otherwise it's surely a place I would always to come back to.

we saw solo at the University Mall theatres last night. $5 for the shared experience of watching an action movie in a large dark Auditorium. Priceless. The theater is very old style, with paper tickets out of a dispenser. No Advance sales here. Just pay at the door, and they prefer cash. Friendly young enthusiastic concession staff completes the experience. This is how movies used to be. This is how going to the movies should be. Did I mention it's $5 and there are discounts during the week?

It's a cheap ticket theatre for a reason (decor is dated) but the snacks are yummy and more reasonably priced than an AMC theatre, and the seats are comfy.... just a smaller theatre and a smaller screen. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

If you go on Tuesday it's 2 bucks a seat! These guys have been a fixture of University mall since before my college days, and the updated seats/sound/screen make for a value that can't be beat.

This theater was great! Although it was a bit smaller the prices were much more economical. We had taken our sons to their first movie experience and ticket prices were the main attraction for us. Additionally it’s all of the other things to do with a trip to the movies that add up to a big expense; popcorn candy and drinks....All of these things to her less expensive than big movie theaters. I would certainly recommend this theater to anyone who maybe wants to watch a little bit of an older movie at a discounted price.

Great theater. Shows good movies just before they go to video for less than half what you'd pay earlier in their runs. Screen size is like the small screens at a multiplex but intimate--not a bad seat in the house. Nice staff, clean, easy. Great value.

Truly a wonderful treat to experience $2 Tuesdays especially with kiddos that cannot sit still longer than an hour! We loved how it was decorated for Halloween, the popcorn was very tasty, and employees accommodating! Only flaw Id have to mention is the little bit of mildew/mold scent in the theater we were in.

We've gone there for years. (By the way, they really DO have great popcorn.) Everything that's been written is spot-on: low admission is the trade off for seeing terrific movies a few weeks later. What has always caught our eyes is how friendly the staff is. Hard to beat the combination.

The staff was really nice and friendly. It's really reasonably priced. The seats are a little bit old, but I think the only thing that actually bothered me was the showtimes for a kids movie. It's extremely hard work working parents to get to the movies in the morning or 4:30 pm.

I absolutely love this theatre. The popcorn is great. The restrooms are always clean. The place is older, but I love the environment of this place; its family run and the staff is nice. This theatre uses deal flicks which is super awesome considering it is already a cheap theatre. Only thing missing is pickles for sale here!

Older theater. Lower (standard) prices: $5 adults, $4 kids under 14, student, over 60. Popcorn and drinks average $4, refills $1. sound and projection of decent quality. On the back side of the plaza (lower level). Fair amount of parking. More in the University Mall than you might expect.

I don't think it's worth spending $$$ when your kids are so little that they can't really tell the difference between a five-dollar theatre/ticket and a twenty-dollar one. My kids always have a splendid time. But if you have finer tastes . . .

I hadn't been here in about 10 years, so I was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded sound system. For the price you're paying to watch movies here, they use pretty good sound. And, for a movie, that's huge. The screen is a bit small compared to AMC and Regal theaters, but, hey you're paying at least 1/3 the price. If top quality is what you're looking for, and bang for buck doesn't really matter to you, look elsewhere. But if you want s cheap theater with a bigger screen and much better sound system than what you probably have at home, this is a terrific value.

A great local gem that is friendly and vintage theatre near George Mason University (GMU). Movie tickets are budget friendly prices. $5.00 for all shows and seats. $4.00 movie tickets for those - 14 yrs and under; - 60 yrs +; and - with a GMU ID. On Tuesdays, tickets are $2.00 (if you pay with cash) and $2.50 (for credit card purchases). Every Saturday at Midnight for $6.00, the Rocky Horror Picture Show is played; the staff encourse audience participation, singing, shouting out those famous quotes, and dressing up. We went a few years ago and we had a ball with the staff and audiences singing and acting out scenes. They have nice recently current and kid friendly shows.

This theater reminds me of my childhood as my hometown had a five dollar theater right down the street. I grew up watching second-run movies and didn't care that it wasn't opening weekend. this theater is located very close to the George Mason campus so oftentimes there are a lot of college students. you can watch a movie for five bucks or less and they have pretty good popcorn and other snacks . the one downside is that sometimes the theater patrons do not take good care of it and leave big messes. Other than that, the theater has digital cinema, digital surround sound, and they have relatively new seats. It's come a long way since I first saw a movie there.

Pretty much one of my favorite movie theaters. Tuesdays is $2. You get a discount for being a George Mason University student when you show your ID card. The popcorn here is tasty with the seasonings they provide. I always put cheddar cheese seasoning on my popcorn.

Really good cheap movie theatre if you can concentrate on movies and not get distracted by others. Seats may not be the best but are still comfy. Concession stand is fine too. Movies are $4 except Tuesdays when they are only $2. GMU students, senior citizens and military get discounts! Movie showings change each week, and Rocky Horror Picture Show is every Friday or Saturday.
