We've got the feddbacks of real people who consumed the services and products of Hull\'s Drive In (Movie Theater) in Virginia.
To this day this business receives a score of 4.8 out of 5 and this rating has been based on 403 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is practically the top, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we may say that the evaluation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are satisfied, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Drive-in movie theater.
Old fashioned quiet unless other people are letting Thier kids run wild staying up late (1am) for the end of most second feature films. Food is a bit pricey but tastes okay the bathrooms are clean and well stocked I enjoy the atmosphere.
Amazing little gem! We usually visit GDIT near home, but found this place while visiting out of town. Original radio poles, clean restrooms, friendly staff...couldn't have asked for a better experience!
We always have a good time at the drive in. I have been going since I was a teenager.
Very nice. Highly recommend.
Great time, old fashion movie experience.
Hull's is a national treasure. I've been going there since I was a kid, when you got in for $5 a carload. It's still family friendly and fun, but I'm disappointed that we can't bring our own food anymore. There are almost no veggie options at the snack bar.
Recommended for everyone
Our first time going and it was better than expected. We will be returning but we will arrive before 7 to get better parking.
Both shows had what appeared as black lines on the right lower corner. Coming in and the same gate is a little unsafe.
Great family fun. Good rates
Absolutely love it ❤️
Went there while visiting the area. Enjoyed it, and would recommend going, but some advice...if you want something cooked/grilled from the concession stand, get in line ASAP, because the line moves slow and you could end up waiting 20-30 minutes for your order to get cooked. Fortunately I could see and hear the movie while waiting. Also, if you bring a thunder-phobic dog with you, the movie sounds may upset them, so something to consider.
This is the best drive-in I have been to, out of a dozen or so I've visited. The area is very maintained, the screen and supports are all remodeled / new, they have a very high resolution / professional projector that is crisp, and the …
What's not to love about this place? The staff are always so friendly, the food is amazing and the kids love to run around and play till the movies start. We come here every year.
Very nice Drive In movie theatre clean nice snack bar and wonderful people. Well kept property!
Very Happy
Inexpensive, good food and current movies in a family friendly atmosphere!
It was wonderful and people were great.
Love the staff and the food is great but get there early or avoid kids movies, it gets packed!
Love this place and that is is run by volunteers
For being a not for profit. No complaints here
Great place for movies and relaxation. Fun atmosephere. Great food and awesome popcorn.
Get this straight. It's in Lexington Kentucky. Which by itself is a great, great, city. I personally LOVE this town. It can do no wrong.
Great family locale for movies, and a blast from the past. Catch the Halloween costume contest each year. One drawback is that any food other than popcorn and drinks takes a LONG time - one cheeseburger and fries took 50 minutes and was burnt.
Our first trip here was for Back to the Future Day on October 21st 2015. We watched all three Back to the Future movies, it was an amazing evening. I have always enjoyed a trip to Hull's Drive In since then. I have found each visit to be a wonderful and memorable experience. The visual quality is top notch. The audio plays through your vehicle speakers and through the well placed speaker stands. The environment is clean and very family friendly. The concession stand is well staffed and provisioned. The staff are polite and helpful. Their cheese burger is quite excellent. I look forward to the next time I get to go back.
This place is awesome good prices also
People come from miles around to see movies here during the summer. Audio plays through your car speakers, and they often have subtitles. It isn't the biggest, so get there early to get the spot you want. Movies start once it's dark enough, right after sunset. It's a not-for-profit type, so please help them by buying concessions.
Classic drive-in theater now run as a non- profit. Carries first-run movies all during the warm season. Definitely worth it if you want the drive-in experience.
Great family drive inn theater.
Always an Awesome place to go! A true gem of not only Rockbridge county...but our entire state as well.
Great bargain for the memories. This place was n business before we married 39 years ago.
Great staff
Great time with the family. And pretty cheap prices.
Had a great experience at Hulls Drive In. It was my first Drive In and they made sure that it wont be my last!
The remodel was amazing great picture and sound also great atmosphere it was an amazing experience!!
No better movie experience
One of the few drive ins in Virginia. This was truly a fun treat.
Wonderful family outing! Fair prices, recent movies. Food is good. The usual movie stuff, but also burgers, dogs, nuggets, nachos, etc.
Great food and Great video and sound quality
Can't beat the experience of a visit to the drive-in! Hull's is a great evening out, especially for the price.
An awesome place and its pet friendly Wonderful idea for being outdoors
Good place for the family. Good food
Always a blast, great fun with a classic feel. Kids play catch up front before the movie. Old school speakers on the poles work or use your radio. Good food at the concession which is the only food service spot in the county that consistently gets a 100 from the Health Dept. Fair prices for first run movies. Don't miss it
Love to go there with my wife for date night ..
Great place...great fun
Love going to Hulls Drive In everytime!!
Love the ambience of outdoor theater experience...movies under the stars! Food is good and cheap!
Our speaker was broke so we had to share with the people beside us so couldn't even hear the movies very well.
Great place for the whole family. Also pet friendly. Wonderful experience. Thanks Hull's Angels
Very cheap for 2 showings back to back. People typically aren't annoying but if they are or it's hot or something you can turn the radio to the audio broadcast and roll up your windows
Great place to go watch good movies and have a fun evening.
Another great night at the drive in
The do not enforce "no smoking, except in designated area" rule. I'm extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke and EVERYWHERE I went, there was the stinch.
This was a very welcoming place.
Love it
Best way to go to movies. Good food H
the only issue i had was it got super foggy at the end of the movie but that wasnt their fault! the food was also very good i recommend the french fries and popcorn
One caveat. Floodlight in top of the concessions stand should be angled down. Would help alot
Hulls is a great place for families with littles that can’t sit in a theater. Opening weekend was rough and unprepared, but it’s been okay since. We’ve ALWAYS had problems with peoples hatches blocking the screen, people saving spots (when it’s packed), and people double parking. The lot needs to be patrolled more, saying “tie your hatches” on the intercom doesn’t make people tie them and be considerate of others. We haven’t tried their food since opening night when they barely had anything and we waited 50 minutes for it. But last year the food was great. Haven’t been too much in the recent years due to movie choices. Hope to change this summer.
Great find. Returning again tonight
Very fun place to go. Me and the kids loved it. Food was a little high but all movies has expensive food. Movie was clear.
Great place for family and friends!
Love it here. Great staff, amazing way to watch movies!
Great family spot!
Hreat place . Long wait for food way roo lonh
Get in line early! Good prices on good food. Highly recommend the funnel cake fries. Long lines at the concession stand, but moves pretty quickly.
Popcorn was old u think for 6bucks u get fresh
Great family place and great food
Love this place.. Son and I make at least one trip per summer. Reminds me of my days growing up at drive in movies theaters in the 70'.. They do it right here and is a great non-profit.
This is a great historic drive-in. Friendly staff and tasty food. At 7.00 for adults, it makes for a great night out.
Love love love love!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could go more!
A great piece of local history that aims to serve the community rather than themselves. It is a fun, nostalgic reminder of the past but still effectively serves families and brings joy and entertainment to a smaller community. The movie choices are always good and they rotate fairly often considering the size of the operation.
My wife & I were there 7/26/2019 Absolutely the best time ever. Enjoyed every minute. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND THEM Great atmosphere very family friendly. Movies enjoyed like they should be! MANY THANKS Hull's Drive In ! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! I WIIL BE RETURNING SOON ! THANK YOU
A great place to spend the evening with the family and also you can bring your pet (as long as you clean up after them). The people that work there are very nice and prices are affordable. It doesn't matter where you park the view of the movie is great. So anytime that you are in Lexington, VA you have to go to Hull's Drive In! It is a great experience!
Always Great. Sunset vista! Hull's was Packed for Aladdin & Lion King.
Great food and friendly staff
Loved this drive in. You get 2 shows for the price of one. Had a great time. Be sure to bring a chair, set outside and enjoy.
Nice and cozy, sound system is effective
Great workers, however 2 hour wait for 2 hot dogs and some fries after the food was ordered, ran out of food, and the food was terrible at that. People kept shining their car lights on the screen. Go to another drive in. This one needs a new manager and cook.
They've really fixed this old place up! This is the only Drive-in around the area that I am aware of. They show new movies now too.
We absolutely love this place
It is always so much fun going here. The picture and sound quality is excellent. Always good to get there early as this place is quite popular. Staff is friendly and food selection is great!
Love the drive in. Can't beat the prices food is cheap. And $7 per person for a double feature is an awesome deal.
I travel to the Drive Inn from Roanoke. Last night 10/11 go to see a double feature movie, feature movie was the second movie. I go to the concession stand and its already closed, short guy with glasses said he didn't have the help, WTH. Who closes the concession stand at intermission, he said he announced it before the first movie started, I didn't get there until 5 min after it started so I didn't know that, there were probably 20-25 people who walked up while I was standing there. Short dude then said he couldn't pay the labor with the gate only making $200, first that doesn't matter, you don't close the stand before the second movie starts, second I know he lied about how many people were there, must have been a hundred cars there, it wasn't a bad crowd. One lady said she just got there to see the feature and there wasn't anyone taking money, she drove in for free. I short dude needs to be fired.
The experience is incredible and great fun for the whole family.
Great for groups looking to chill and catch a good movie. Good concessions. Great price.
So nostalgic! Where else can you see a movie on the big screen... under the stars?! I'm so glad that I can bring my kids here to experience the same thing I did as I was growing up. I love this place! Thank you to everyone who has contributed :-)
Great place to watch a double feature for great prices
Great place to watch a movie!
Always a blast! Reasonably priced concession with good burgers and fries. Well worth supporting this community owned treasure.
it was really good you must go there
I love this place I live near its awsome
Family favorite. They never let us down.
Wonderful experience! I love that you welcomed my dog! Great value for the price and I felt like I just stepped into the movie GREASE!
Had such an amazing visit! The drive-in movie theatre might be slowly dying, but that will never stop Hull’s! It’s incredible how cheap it is when you’re seeing a double feature. I also LOVE that they have the speakers that hook onto your car instead of just a radio station that most drive-ins these days have. Great atmosphere, great for families, great experience.
Love the drive in! So happy to see that it's still around to share with my children grandchildren. Going to the drive in is one of my favorite childhood memories!
Was a Good show even with rain still enjoyed the Lion King
Wonderful place to bring your family and your dog. Bring a leash.
Love this place, the nostalgia of a bygone era with the modern awesomeness of digital HD projection!!
Overly packed, so packed you could barely get out without hitting someone - we actually watched someone back into someone. Speakers didn’t work, they were either broken or missing. Food was fine.
Amazing! Really enjoyed stepping back in time. Food was good as well.
Great time at Hull's Drive-in! Friendly staff, exceptionally reasonable prices! A throw back to good times!
Fun and plenty of room. The food was decent for the price. Admission price is cheap. Offers a good way to take a child to their first movie outside of a house.
The family & I had a wonderful time. The speakers worked well. The parking set up was amazing! Price was great! Anyone who is in the Lexington area should check out Hull's.
Had a great time. It was great
Highly suggest going out there, and often. The prices are way better than a traditional theater and the experience is way cooler!
We arrived at 7:20. The popcorn was stale. There service was slow even though they were not busy yet. Several orders came out before my funnel cake fries which were over cooked and had enough powdered sugar on it to choke a mule. Them at 9:00 when the movie was about to start they had technical difficulties. At about 10:45 they fixed it but couldn't show the first movie and offered a refund if you wanted to leave. All well and good but I was taking kids for their first drive-in experience and we are not from here. We were all very disappointed!
Great family time a must do
Cool place. Decent prices compared to big box theaters. Long lines to get food and drinks so beware you'll miss lots of the movie if you go. If you get there within an hour before the show you'll wait in line to get tickets for a while too. Even though there's two lines, there's only one person in the ticket booth. Good family place with lots of room and parking. We've been many times and we'll go back many more. Other than the couple of issues mentioned, it's an awesome alternative to a standard movie night.
You will love the whole experience of this Drive in Movie. They get great shows, there's a great family atmosphere, and the personality is addictive. The concessions are a bit pricey, but I understand that's typically how they make their money and keep the doors open. All-in-all, I drive over an hour every other week or so to see a movie here and I always enjoy myself tremendously.
Always enjoy the Drive In. Great family atmosphere.
Have been going here for over 18 years and it is always and still is amazing!!!
So much fun a unique old school blast for all ages
Great place and family friendly. Can't beat the price. Good concessions. Highly recommended!
Always have a good time but this time parked too close to the food stand. The guy that was selling toys at exit of food stand was on his cell phone talking very loudly during the movies. Also car that was parked beside me (who I am pretty sure works there) set in her car with it running through most of second movie - her car was loud. Also her car had a really bright light on inside it as well..
AWESOME even in the rain we had a great time
Good concession stand food and movies/quality. Not fond of the new entrance route.
As much as I love a movie theater nothing beats the drive inn this I the best place to bring the family even your 4 legged ones to get some food and watch a movie at a great price
I've been to a few outdoor movie theaters in a few different states and I have to say really loved this one. The parking levels were all a good tiered height - perfect for most cars. The place filled up, but it seemed everyone there was polite, which makes it much more enjoyable. They have a store for food: popcorn, corndogs, fried pickles, etc. Everything is good and they are very friendly. If you are around, please visit. They are worth every penny and it's a really good time.
This place is the real deal. Lots of parking, great environment, restrooms, plenty of food available for purchase, etc. Very popular and often packed during summer weekends. Just overall a very fun, lighthearted environment. The screen is big and surprisingly clear. The biggest downside, by far, is the audio. You can either tune into the FM frequency on your car radio or use the side speaker they have attached to small poles on the side of the parking spaces. The thing is, I don't want to use my car's FM because if I have that on during a double feature (basically from 4 hrs or so) I am gonna get a dead battery! And many, many of the side speakers have crackling sound, very low volume or don't work at all. Of course, I don't expect HQ surround sound, but at least want to hear! Recommendation: bring a small battery powered FM capable radio to listen to the movie, you won't regret it. Some smartphones even have FM capability (mine, sadly, does not).
Non-profit drive in theater. It's got everything you could want at a drive in - low prices, great concessions and a good sound system.
Great experience, have not been to a drive-in a long time, a very enjoyable time, and food at snack bar was cooked to order, and tasty. Very friendly staff, Thanks
Still as much fun as it was when my parents took me as a kid 40 plus yrs ago!!! Great experience!!!
Clean facilities, good food (some food items are pricey),in all it was pretty good. Watched Endgame.
Old fashioned fun. This vintage drive-in movie theater is the real deal. Owned and operated by a local community non- profit, Hull's offers an opportunity for families to enjoy a double feature and authentic drive-in snacks and food ( burgers dogs, pizzas, etc.) For a reasonable price. Lots of fun.
One of the last drive-in's in the country...
The best place for the summer to watch movies, prices are cheap and two movies for the price of one can't beat it highly recommend it
Great time very clean
