Classic is another term for old. Needs updated seats, audio, and screens. Since AMC has taken over they have started making some updates to concessions. Hopefully the updates continue. No reserved seating. E ticketing isn't worth the hassle.

Even if the parents buy and show ID for the R rated movie, the kids can’t go in by them selfs. REDICLUS I mean..? What’s the diffrence if they are there with them or not? They are seeing the same thing with or with out them. Also, VERY PRICEY where is all my money going? Not the movie theater that’s for sure! Chairs HURT! I don’t know about you but, you can go to any movie theater in VA for the same price but WAY NICER

Tickets are cheap and concessions are astronomically priced. A good choice if you don't want to drive 45 minutes to an hour and pay more money for comfortable seats.

Made the mistake of getting to the theater before the lights were turned down, so we could see exactly how nasty the seats really are. The movie started 10 minutes late. The whole facility is run down and dirty. We were told they would no longer be a Carmike next year.

Cheap. New releases for $6.50 each which makes up for the outdated environment but the picture and sound were fine. No lines, no problems, easy parking

Used to be great but it is very outdated, the bathrooms are usually not very clean and the seats are uncomfortable. Marquee Cinemas in Wytheville is much nicer. If you have the time, it is well worth the drive.

Not too bad, considering it's the closest movie theater in this area without driving almost an hour. There snacks & drinks are so expensive you can't afford the price of the show & any snacks from them. It's decent for where & as long as it's been there.

There is never anything done about people constantly talking or using their phones during a movie. The prices are ridiculous and I have no idea where that money is going. I had high hopes and great expectations when AMC bought Carmike, but apparently AMC is doing a worse job that I ever imagined possible. Will gladly go to Blacksburg to see a movie at Frank's or to Marquee Cinemas in Beckley.

The movie quality is good and the staff friendly but it is severely understaffed and in need of a remodel. Other than the the soda machine, the fixtures are drastically out dated, with several of the chairs broken and some of the screens sporting dirty marks that distract from the movie. Perhaps with a good movie theater the nearby mall would see an increase in visitors as well.

The inside of the theater, seats, floor area is absolutely disgusting. The screen in room 3 has hand prints and smearing on the screen. The seats are as nasty as it can get. If this place has a manager, he/she has completely failed at their job.

Its been years since me and family happily went to carmike cinemas in Bluefield WV to watch a movie. It is dirty, expensive and the seats are way to uncomfortable!! . We always got to Beckley WV....sooo much better!

You would almost think AMC bought Carmike to simply put them out of their misery, or to give patrons an even worse experience than when Carmike ran the place. This place is dingy, nasty, filthy. The seats are like sitting on bare boards. It's hard to walk because the floors are so sticky. Please, AMC, just burn the place for insurance and build a new theater.

Use to love coming here 10yrs ago, now the place is in very dire need of renovation, chairs are small, dirty, uncomfortable and some have tears in the fabric, floor is sticky, don't get me started on the bathrooms, staff is friendly but almost non existent, the prices for the movies are decent, prices for the food like any other movie theater is f***ing insane ($5 for bottled water, etc.). I only come here when I don't feel like driving to Beckley or Christiansburg to watch a movie. Please fix this theater.

I went to see Christopher Robin because I love Winnie-the-Pooh! I raised my son on Winnie the Pooh, and he took it with him everywhere we went. When he was older I was taking things to a friend's who was having a yard sale. When I got there I discovered Winnie the Pooh in his contributions! Winnie rode home buckled in the front passenger seat, and I!! still have him (in my living room). My only complaint about the movies is that the sound is deafening, and it does not matter where you sit. It truly hurts my ears.

Is a cheap place to see movies, concessions stands need more employees to work them was no ice, no butter for popcorn and most of flavored drinks were out. Seats are really close together with no arm room. But for a cheap movie night is the place to go.

Like so many businesses in Bluefield, won't be long when these theater's will be in the dust pan. 80 years of democratic government and a false dependance on the coal industry for the last 40+ what do you expect? Trump can't fix our problem but a far better choice than Hildabeast.

This is the only cinema for a long while before you find another. I think its doing the best it can. If you can't pay for things, sneak stuff in like a normal person and stop whining. They have to make a profit somehow. Have you seen mercer mall? It's doing its best to stay alive. Give it a break.

Theater needs an upgrade. Had to change seats 5 different time because seat was broke. The door wouldn't close properly so there a gap if light that streaked through. The screen could use a cleaning..looks like someone threw their drink cup at the screen. Unfortunately unless I want to drive 45 minutes this is where we will come if we see a movie

I was highly disappointed, my 18 yr old son has no ID "no fault of his own" so I went in to purchase a ticket for Halloween for him and was disappointed to learn even giving permission, that without an ID someone 21 or over with an ID had to stay in the theater with him to watch it. Seriously!!??!!. I could see turning away someone without an ID, but this!!!

We bought movie tickets online, but we were 15 minutes late and they wouldn’t give us the tickets or let us into the movie even though I had already paid and had the email receipt. The manager just kept telling me I could come back tomorrow. I just kept saying “but I paid for them.” It was like pulling teeth to get him to tell us there was an online refund. My boyfriend has been kicked out or not let into the movie on numerous occasions for outrageous reasons. The establishment is poorly maintained, the food is subpar, and is generally a sub par movie going experience.There’s hardly any staff, and the rules are unfair. I won’t be coming back if they’re going to try to trick me out of my money like that. You’re better off just going to galleria 14 in Beckley.

Theyre understaffed at this one but it's not the employees fault theater is outdated it's like the owner only put just enough in to make profits the employees can only do so much the one employee can only serve at the concessions stand while selling tickets at the same time waiting on 20 customers per 45 minutes most of the time efforts are being made to keep the place clean, I blame corporate for this one, it makes no sense for some company to downstaff so badly.

I thought this place needed help when it was still Carmike Cinemas but now that it's AMC I have to say it's gotten even worse. There's always a huge line to buy tickets - at the concession counter, the actual ticket counter is NEVER open. Twice we've went in the past 3 months and couldn't even see the movie because of technical difficulties. There needs to be a drastic change before you lose all of your customers - it's gotten quite dire.

I have never written a review!! But this has to be done. We Stood in line more than 15 minutes for tickets people were in line out the door. One person ONE PERSON- selling tickets and waiting on the hoard. The food was beyond over priced!! 8 for a drink and 8 for popcorn. The caret is gross the chairs were nasty and old. There were several times the people watching yelled at a few teens acting up!! Several times! No employees there to see that anything was done. Some people left and others were out of their seats. I will never go back.

I do not understand why they have not renovated this theater. They added new drink machines, changed the name, and upped the prices but have failed to give anyone their money's worth. Most of the seats are broken, not to mention the stains and the smell. I can drive 30 extra minutes and be in a decent theater with comfortable seats that do not make you feel like your back is broken at Wytheville. It would be nice to have a clean, decent theater in our area.

Carmike in Bluefield is the only option if you live in Blfd or Pctn. I've been to Beckley and Wytheville and their theaters are so much nicer and better prices too. But if you want the ultimate experience go to Lewisburg! IT IS AWESOME!!

WOW! ! ! Dirty nasty place. Posted a photo of the only clean spot in the lobby. Carpet reminds me of a beverage soaked strip club. Sticky and germy. But, the staff are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Haven't been there in 15 years! And I won't go back! I The last time my husband and I went, we went to the matinee and two KIDS around 15 were having sex! The lights were still on and people were still coming in and this couple was going at it right beside the doors and were glad to show everyone! I raised cane about it to the usher (who were just teenagers themselves ) they acted like I was in the wrong for complaining about these two little kids having sex in public ..but they finally went in, but the kids had there pants back on by then... But as soon as they left the kids looked at us and smiled while he dropped his pants down and she dropped her panties and went right back at it!! Again I complained to no avail! We will never go back! And I won't advise taking your children there!

I went and took my family and it was AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL staff not friendly, dirty, seats broken, was going to see lion king and they started playing spider man most of the people had to get up and go out to get them to fix it. The iceie drink mechanic was broken, and only 1 of the drink mechanic was working so REALLY BAD BAD PLACE WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE EVER.

Worst theater I have ever been to. I am not from here but we came to visit family from Alabama. Let's start with the theater was really small and really dirty. Everything was broken down. 1 coke machine didnt work and the other one had only a few selections working. The slushie machine didnt work at all. Next we went into the theater and it was very dirty. I hate sitting on theater seats so I normally wear pants this time I wore a dress and I felt really grossed out. The seats were actually broken. I came with 6 other people and 4 out of the 6 people chairs were broken. Like they were so bad my daughter sat down and the seat fell out from under her causing her to throw her bag of popcorn on the people in front of us (very sorry yall!) Then they played the wrong movie. Several people had to go tell them that we were watching supposed to be watching Lion King but an avengers movie was playing. Get past all of that and the doors were kept open during the entire movie. These doors caused really bright lights and weird spots on the screen. Anyways, save yourself the headache and go to Beckley theater. Good luck.

I grew up going to this theater before it was an AMC classic. I am thrilled to see that they have added more food options but I feel the theater needs some updating. The staff are super friendly and I am always pleased with the quality of the picture we see.

My family have been to this theater many times in our ten years in this area The popcorn good to sometimes Great As clean and sometimes cleaner than any other Theater we have been in All across this country the prices are high everywhere too see a new release movie. I definatly do Not have any complaints Plus they employ a lot of young people in an area that jobs are scarce

Overpriced oh my popcorn and a soda $15.00 that's more than the movie ticket. SMH. I personally will never go back again. The volume of the movie was beyond loud, If I would of had ear plugs I still would of been able to hear it.

It is pretty dirty and not very well taken care of. I have never had any issues with the staff there, but the theater itself is very rundown. I sent photos to Carmike Cinemas of the dirty screens, gross seats with matted materials on them, and soda soaked and ripped carpets. Their response was that they went to see the conditions for themselves and that they didn't see a problem with it, they said it was up to their standards. I was disappointed that they don't seem to care any more about their theater than that. If you visit, since they are really the only choice for people in the area, then you're sure to leave with the soles of your shoes sticking to the ground due to the gummy carpet that hasn't been cleaned since...probably when the teacher opened. When I want to see a movie I drive to Marquee Cinemas in Beckley or Wythville. I don't like having to go so far out of the way, but I cannot justify spending my money to not even get to enjoy the movie due to the environment.

Horrible theater, needs to bee torn down and redone. Everything is dirty, staff was unpleasant, and the only decent thing is the movies, besides being able to here other booming sounds from different movies while trying to watch a movie. The seats are old and nasty, and very uncomfortable, I would recommend going all the way to Christiansburg, VA if you want to watch a movie.

Slow service - they have only one person selling tickets & concessions . So you better go early . Prices on concessions are steep, dirty restrooms and lobby, Whole place is quite run down. Do yourself a favor drive to Galleria 14 in Beckley it's a thousand times nicer and prices are better too!

I had to take a dump but there was crap all over the toilet. Maybe if you cleaned it once and a while it would be leaned. Obviously hasn't been cleaned since ww2. $5 for a bag f skittles? screw that might wanna take your $5 and clean up your theatre for once. I still liked the movie so you get 5 stars.

This has got to be the worst movie theater that I have ever bought a ticket at. In my opinion, the place is filthy, the seating has got to be from the 1980's and most of the chairs are broken in some way. I think, the owner's idea of surround sound is cranking up the front center speaker (singular). This acoustic assault has been going on for years. The popcorn, drinks etc...are outrageously priced. There was a dollar theater down the road that was awesome compared to this place, but I believe ownership bought it out and actually tore down the theater- money talks. I now travel down to Abingdon, Virginia or Blacksburg, Virginia, if I want to attend a movie. That is where we are at in Bluefield these days - scraping the bottom of the barrel. A 10% food tax in Bluefield, Virginia has me and others going out of the Bluefield area to eat out as well. The prices Bluefield restaurants are charging for the food they are preparing combined with the food tax - the food is just not that good. Sadly, these days I take my money out of the Bluefield area all the way around. I would be more than happy to bring it back, if something changes in the two Bluefields.
