Great place to go when you're ready to take a break from the outdoors. Reasonably priced (cash only!) and though the chairs weren't quite as comfortable as a normal Regal, the obvious history of the place definitely made it worth it.

Charming and vintage, you come here for the experience of a small time theater that is well kept and doesn't get over packed with patrons. The prices are reasonable and the picture\sound quality was great. Yes one could be picky about not having big recliner seats nor a Dolby Cinema\IMAX set up, but for me the value was well worth being in a very clean theater with a small crowd, gorgeous architecture, and decent pricing. Being in the auditorium with high ceilings and old decor made me feel like I was in a play of my old public school, it was very nostalgic and warm.

This is probably one of my all time favorite theaters I've been too. Feels very old and quaint while still showing upkeep and cleanliness. I highly recommend to anyone passing through. It'll feel like to took a time machine to an age long since past to watch a movie.

Vintage movie theatre with all the new movies. I'm not the biggest fan of the seats. They're not the most comfortable. But it is an old family run theatre, so you have to appreciate it for what it is.

The Palace Theatre is a walk back in time from the price of a Adult Tickets to the Popcorn, Sodas and Bottled Water. So enjoyable and comfortable Movie Theatre that will have choice of several different Movies to see. Extremely clean,Friendly Customer Service and Clean Bathrooms. One of my favorite places to go to see a Movie. Has movies for all ages with 4 different Theaters, something for everyone.

Small town theater. They keep it simple and have fair prices on concessions. The staff are friendly and the owner is usually there to greet you at the door for a Friday movie. He's a sweet old man be sure to say hi.

A lovely old theater, from the 1920s when it was also used for vaudeville shows, it is a gem on the upper end of Lake Placid's Main Street. Four theatres --- one large, two smaller upstairs, and one rather cozy, petite --- reasonable, almost super-low ticket prices, a standard snack counter, what more could you ask?

My family and I always need to find a rainy day activity and The Palace theater is always a go to. We love the friendly atmosphere and the chill vibe that the staff lays down. The Palace Theater has great movie selections for all ages and is an attraction that you can not pass up.

This is my favorite theater. It's a local run place and doesn't feel like they didn't for only money. It feels like a family put heart and soul into it. It's classy and a good enviroment. Cheap tickets make it my number one spot to see movies that just came out. The owner is the sweetest man and I would recommend this to anyone in the Lake Placid area.

Very cool vintage style theater. Tickets are cheaper than your typical theater chain and some of their theaters have limited seating so be sure to arrive early (they don't allow purchasing tickets in advance) and bring cash as they don't accept card.

Took my husband for his very first Rocky Horror Picture Show screening and it was awesome!! He may have come in with mixed feeling but he left with a light heart and a twinkle in his eye...this place will take you back in time with its vintage decor...loved the atmosphere...

We visit the Palace twice each year on our stays in the Lake Placid area. I especially enjoy the service at the Refreshments Bar, all the kids that work here are so friendly and courteous. Nothing is ever hurried, or to boring at the Palace Refreshment Bar. And of course the movies are always fun to watch in the Palace because of it's history in the Lake Placid town. We'll always continue to visit the Palace for as long as we can. Thank you.

I use to love coming here when I was growing up. However last night 5/12/2018 my girlfriend and I were standing in line waiting for the 9:45 showing of Avengers: Infinity War and the staff was being over loud and rude. It made standing in line rather unenjoyable listening to the staff scream at the top of their lungs, and the experience got even worse when they started screaming about the plot of the movie we were about to see. Despite having the plot ruined for us before we even bought our tickets we still decided we would go through with seeing the film. However when we got to the snack counter one young man was trying to help us while his co-worker continuously mocked and repeated everything he said like a toddler. This made ordering our snacks rather difficult since we were hearing an echo of everything that had just been said to us every time we tried to speak. The Palace Theater seriously needs to either train their staff to be more respectful and courteous to their customers.

Love this old palace theater. The young employees behind the goodie counter work fast and with a smile. They deserve a tip like any other server, "so tip them". Movies are great, sound is great. Its just a great all around place to unwind and enjoy a movie while chowing on your favorite snack.

It's comforting to see old and charming theaters still in operation. At $7 tickets and $1 for a soda, this place is like a charity! If you know what to expect from a small theater, you will have a wonderful time. Also, I think this place is cash only.

With a free evening and the new Star Wars showing, this seemed perfect. And it was! I had a great time and spent a grand total of $9 (cash only). It's s nice, well maintained small town movie theater. I'd happily go back when I'm in town.

Cool atmosphere, locally owned, plays new releases on only a few screens. Popcorn and drinks are not expensive. Cash only. Quality is not what you would find in large chain theatres, but it is far from being poor. Highly recommended you stop by, no matter what you are in the area for!
