This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Movie theater.
Seats are comfortable, everything is usually OK, but the staff at the concession counter should really be more helpful with the popcorn. They just give you the bag and you need to put on the topping yourself. Their topping dispenser is way below eye level and the stream of buttery topping is not centered properly, which results in lots of spills. This further results in getting topping all over the outside of the bag and, from there, onto our hands and clothes. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and competent.
Its a very nice place. Clean too.
Decent price
Small privately owned theater - polite staff and generally quiet.
Advertises films it doesnt offer showings for, roof leaks, and the building would look abandoned from the outside if there weren't cars in the parking lot. Pre-film slides are outdated and havent been properly edited in years. Cheap atmosphere. Only visit for convinience.
Decent place to go see a movie.
Nice older movie theater. Prices were reasonable and staff was nice. Not anything fancy, but I would go back again.
Short wait time. Clean facility.
I prefer movie theaters that have a middle section.
Nice theater, easy to hear, but why do they schedule so many movie beginning at the same time?
It is a wonderful theater, reminds me of my childhood.
Nothing special, but it's a decent place to watch a movie.
It is a movie theater. There is not much more to say.
Always the best serve and food
Very clean theater, terrible popcorn. Don't buy refill popcorn. They sell you old popcorn thats already bagged up in counter then go for refill hoping for fresh batch. Already closed concession before movie over .
This place is one of the older movie theaters around but they have popcorn.
good pricing for tickets but i shouldn’t have to pay $4.50 for NACHOS and then $4.50 for a drink smaller than my hand. won’t give me a refund either. or an actual receipt.
Not very clean (sticky floors), otherwise a standard theater with overpriced concessions.
Good old time movie theater but need new seats Mary Poppins Returns was fun.
Tiny screen. Basically a home theater.
Best movie theater in town
One of my favorite theaters, these guys know local appeal, they're small and cozy and the employees are always friendly
Clean and comfortable theaters wonderful place
Great selections of movies & snacks. However, the theaters are small and the seating is a little old & not the most comfortable. The seating is pretty flat rather staggered with an incline for a better view of the screen.
Always comfortable and clean, good selection of movies, and friendly staff. A great place to float down stream!!!!!
Not bad! Yes, there are no reclining seats.. But it's cheaper than the big chains and the employees are always very nice.
Was dirty! Seatings not the best.
Fun special events. Saw the Room and it was a blastttt
it was really funny that other parents brought little kids to blade runner. I think that they are really confused now.
Convenient shopping
Always a good time at the Palace 9
Basic theater. Very clean with friendly staff
Nice place, friendly staff, good fresh popcorn
Fine prices and seating. They don't stay on top of their website info which is frustrating. Almost never get fresh popcorn it's always a bit cold or stale. Lots of easy parking and never had an issue with over crowding.
Nice staff
I went here with my friends and they didn’t take my card? Which is very unprofessional in my opinion please step your game up and then the stars will go up.
They played a lot of commercials (8 minutes worth) when the movie was suppose to start then followed by movie previews. Not stadium seating.
Great place to enjoy new movies Amazing stuff and best popcorn
Good place to watch movies!
Great theater. Cheap and enjoyable. Save some $$$ and go here.
Just an OK theater.
Good matinee activity. Clean and comfortable theaters.
Good homie feel and is cozy and will show movies that are not currently in theaters
Nice quality theater, decent ticket prices.
Nice and clean theater. Pricey snacks/drinks... but u get that at any movie theater
Great theater with alternative shows
As far as cinemas in the Burlington area go, this one has a good number of screens and often has special showings of older movies, operas, or festival films.
Decent comfy seats, good-sized quality screens, good non-crackly speakers. Ticket prices are average, which is okay. Typical theater fare, popcorn, soda and candy. Minor problem (for my own preference) is that they split the rows of seats in half, so there are no seats that are right in the middle of the theater.
center aisle so we couldn't sit in the middle.
$19. for ticket, popcorn, small ass Gatorade. GREED.
Inexpensive for a senior. Old style seating. Staffing was small so theaters were not fully cleaned in advance. Only 2 people to run both concessions and tickets.
Awesome prices and great theatre as well as super nice staff
Nice theater, popcorn though fresh was not very tasty. Great seats though and sound was good.
Love the Studio Ghibli series every year, plus their anime and special events.
Not the fanciest but always clean and there’re always seats open.
Fun, convenient and pleasant
I love this theater. They have friendly staff and they host lots of special events and showings
I like this theatre, it's close, usually less crowded, and decent quality. It's a little pricey, but that's like saying water is wet.
Good ol movie theater what more do you need!
I love that this theatre always has special events like Studio Ghibli movies and Fathom events.
Not a bad theater. Doesn't have stadium seating, not the end of the world - doesn't ruin the experience. Kind of an older theater. Make sure to check the dealflicks website for a ticket & popcorn promotion before heading there! Will definitely save a few bucks
Not a bad place. Screens are mid to small and seating is more traditional vs stadium. They hold Fathom Events and all in all not a bad place to take in a movie if in the area.
Nice theaters good movies. Comfy seats.
Had good quality movies, and had good food
I have no idea if it is a good theater. But its a Pokemon Go Gym so its nice to hang out and play.
I love their events.
The seating needs to be updated.
I like this theater a lot. They do events with fathom events which allows them to show classic movies, opera and other stuff. Getting to see "The Dark Crystal" on the big screen was super cool. Will definitely be going back for other movies.
Can't stand watching commercials BEFORE the trailers before the movie. Never show up early to the movies here, or at the very least, don't go in and sit down until you hear the trailers starting.
Too loud in some scenes
Two of my favorite articles of clothing ruined today by their butter dispensing machine, which SPRAYS butter. There is a sign indicating the problem, but how about a fix??? Totally pissed off.
This is a wonderful theater !! Every time we come to the Palace Theater, we are always greeted. The theater is always immaculate , despite moviegoers' best attempts to be "at home" there. The staff never fails to be courteous and respectful when we both enter the theater and when we approach the counter. What is there not to like about the Palace Theater ?! It is among Burlington/s finest,
Love watching the Met Live and old movies here!!!
The service & employees are nice! The seats are comfortable. The Palace is also fairly clean! And great matinee prices! The only down side is, the prices of the snacks/food & beverages are a lil high.
I thought it was an excellent experience. the only issues I had with it was that there were a lot of people, but it is a large scale theatre so that is expected. The food there was also expensive, but that's also expected from a theatre. Great experience overall I enjoyed it.
Local movie theater
Good place to go. Was not happy hearing bombs or things blowing up in the theatre next to ours during our movie. Bathrooms a adequate and snacks as expected. Great parking.
Good selection of movies, near restaurants, kid friendly
Lots of good movie options. Small and comfortable viewing rooms. Sometimes the audio is too loud.
To be honest this place is way out of my way for "normal" first run movies, I usually see those elsewhere, but I love the special events (Rifftrax, live events, etc) that they do at the Palace.
As of yesterday I'm done with getting a snack. Movie price fair and nice theatre but decided to treat myself. Bought a box of goobers...5 DOLLARS!!!!. (can get a Walmsrt for a $1) No more. Bringing in my water and bought a 4 lb container of M&M's for 9.99. Already stop buying popcorm.
Great local chain. Theaters are clean. Staff is friendly. Never too crowded and convenient for South Burlington.
As good as any other multiplex, just not as crowded!
Good ticket prices, but the theater smelled horrible and the seats are old and dirty.. All I could do is pray no bedbug bit me.
Neighborhood theater. It's small but that is part of the appeal. Main titles, and special screenings on occasion.
I went in the middle of winter and it was colder inside than it was inside. Wore my coat through the movie. Good popcorn tho.
Clean, not crowded with good movies and nice staff.
I've been going here for years; never had any issues or concerns. I laughed at the review from the person who said it was creepy to see movies playing in a completely empty theater; I just sat through Tammy and was the only customer in the whole room!
It's a standard movie theater shows most movies has food and they sell posters for dontations.
Easy to find and friendly workers
Small theater but it has a nice matinee deal.
It was slow tonight but has been packed the last two times I was here. Sometimes its smart to order tickets on your phone.
Cool movie theatre
Great! Excellent service.
A nice, small local option.
Nice place! Clean
They have nice movies I guess
Studio Ghibli film fest! They always have special and exclusive engagements. Location easy access off Rte. 7, close to 89, Burlington and Shelburne. Plenty of parking. A couple of restaurants right there. Facilities are a little dated, but whatever. It's dark in all theaters. Comfy chairs. Free refills on large popcorn and sodas. Candy selection... what else could you want?
The workers were polite
Great dedicated parking, video was proper, but audio was quiet, and bathrooms weren't the cleanest.
It was clean and the staff was friendly.
Rude owner
Conveniently located on Shelburne Road, and showing the latest movies, the Palace is my second choice, after the Majestic 10, to see feature films. It's a little less comfortable and posh.
Cool place to see movies!
The only place for miles around that streams ballet and opera. Thank you Palace 9!
This theater does not advertise in the newspaper, so we resorted to Google for showtimes. Unfortunately, this wasn't accurate, the manager told us to use their website. We got there an hour early for the movie we wished to see. For a theater that opts not to advertise, we told them they would be wise to sync their website with Google in order to get the best information out to the general public. Next time I will look at their website, but still, it was frustrating and we did not go to the movie. They lost out on two paying customers today. Note to self (and others) don't rely on Google as Palace 9 doesn't update the information, go to their website. It would be easier, and probably better business (for them) if they would put ads in Seven Days!
Love going here, the staff are friendly, and the theater doesn't usually fill to capacity which is nice.
A fun, off beat movie theater. It's gotten a little more main stream, but it still has some colorful qualities.
Dirty, long lines, no management. Not worth the high price.
Small, but conveniently located.
A terrific place to go to the movies. Not only has all the latest films, but a rotating selection of classics and unique films. Good popcorn and convenient parking.
Never crowded, good sound and picture
Decent enough all the way around. Old style seating, pretty good popcorn and fairly clean for being understaffed. The staff themselves are pretty good for kids working for what I can on . y assume is minimum wage. The reason for 4 stars and not 2 or 3 is the parking and the fact that every time I go there there's hardly any line(if any at all). I saw mortal engines with my girlfriend on a Thursday night and we had the theater to ourselves.
Nice theater, clean, with seating for concession and waiting No arcade items though
Decent suburban older multipex showing current mainstream cinema with ample parking. Typical sweet and salty snacks with no healthy options.
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM FRONT LINE ASSOCIATE AND SUPERVISOR. ISSUES: YOUNG FEMALE ASSOCIATE GAVE WRONG THEATER NUMBER AND DIRECTION TO WRONG THEATER (SAME MOVIE WAS PLAYING BUT IT WAS THE END OF THE MOVIE. THE KIDS SAW THE END OF THE MOVIE FOR 15 MINUTES AND CREDITS. ) YOUNG FEMALE ASSOCIATE WAS ON CELL PHONE AND I HAD TO WAIT TO TO ORDER THE CONCESSIONS UNTIL SHE FINISHED HER PERSONAL BUSINESS. WHEN I LET THE YOUNG FEMALE ASSOCIATE KNOW THE ERROR AND THAT I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT 3 YOUNG CHILDREN JUST SAW THE END OF A MOVIE THEY WERE SO EXCITED TO SEE SHE WAS NOT EMPATHETIC AT ALL. SHE SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS AND SAID SHE WOULD CALL FOR HER SUPERVISOR AS SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. I SAID YOU DO RECALL THAT YOU TOLD US THEATER 2, 2 DOORS DOWN ON THE LEFT? SHE SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS AGAIN AND SAID, "I DONT REMEMBER." "TAKE IT UP WITH MY SUPERVISOR." THE SUPERVISOR THEN ARRIVED, SHE LISTENED THEN PLACED THE BLAME ON ME BUT SAID SHE WOULD GIVE ME VOUCHERS FOR ANOTHER MOVIE SOME OTHER TIME. I TOOK THE KIDS TO A TABLE AT THE FRONT OF THE THEATER WHICH WAS FILTHY WITH CHEWED UP STRAWS AND OTHER GARBAGE LEFT ALL OVER TO DELIBERATE ON OUR OPTIONS LEFT AT THAT TIME. VERY UNCLEANLY THEATER ON 2/17/19. AT THAT TIME I WATCHED THE SUPERVISOR AND THE ASSOCIATE LAUGH AND BASICALLY TALK ABOUT ME IN FRONT OF MY FACE AND NOT CARE AT ALL THAT 3 KIDS' TIME WAS ABSOLUTELY RUINED. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE SPENDING MY $ AT THIS THEATER EVER AGAIN. I WILL DRIVE TO WILLISTON OR ESSEX BEFORE I SUBJECT MY FAMILY OR MYSELF TO SUCH A POOR EXPERIENCE AGAIN.
I really enjoyed the movie
Good sized theatre, but overpriced considering the moldy smell and pre-packaged popcorn you don't know when it was made...
I love this place. I come here 2 or 3 times a month
Quick to get in, unless it's a premiere. Fair prices as far as movie theatres go. Comfortable seating.
Nice theatre,, not as crowded..nice variety of events
A great small local theater, and most of the time i went there it was empty, but the last time i went to that theater to watch the Star Wars movie there was two kids behind me who would not stop talking the whole film. Over all I like how the theater is small and quiet
Decent ticket prices, comfy seats, friendly staff. Good old school theater.
Great theater, no problem getting in or out. Seats are comfortable even though they're older. I like watching movies in 2d and if you do as well, treat yourself to a movie. Popcorn is good and not any more expensive than anyplace else.
I went to see avengers endgame. My experience was sub par. The chairs are uncomfortable and the speakers did not project good sound during the loud scenes. The staff was noncommuncative. The prices for food are obscene. Even by movie theatre prices. The theatre was a mess and not cleaned at all.
Great deal on popcorn
Great movie theater, have been going there for years
While my experience with the associates behind the concession stand, and my experience in the cinema theater itself were fantastic, I'm afraid to say my visit was given a poor conclusion the other night when I witnessed the apparent owner of the Palace 9 demanding free items from the concession associates, and then resorting to childish behavior when he didn't get his way. Not only immature, but right out in the open where anyone who comes to your business can witness your behavior is levels of unprofessional, and embarrassing to watch, as a frequent visitor of the Palace.
A really nice little movie theater that has good (and not inflated prices to see movies on the big screen. We've been a number of times since it is within walking distance and we've been very happy with the services and more importantly the prices of the movies as well as the concessions. Instead of paying more at other theaters to just see the movie, you can probably get some popcorn or candy and see the same movie for a similar price!
Pretty small, but still good! And a little less expensive
Nice spot, wish they had stadium seating.
Feels like my own private movie theater. Hope they always stay open.
Dated. Really dated. But the people at the concession stand were very friendly. Could be time for a facelift.
If you don't mind slightly smaller screens and the lack of "stadium seating", this is still Chittenden County's best movie theater. And the reason that I say this has almost nothing to do with the theater itself, aside from its much comfier seats and slightly, less, expensive, tickets and more to do with its overall convenience and comfort. In a nutshell, it is way, way easier to park and get inside the theater than Cinema 9's rival in Williston. I live 6 miles from the one in Williston and I much rather drive the extra 5 miles to South Burlington. Cinema 9's parking lot is a normal parking lot, not a stupid, faux downtown town square with no nearby spaces. You also don't have to walk through a ridiculously, oversized, lobby plus negotiate stairs when the escalators are broken or shut down later in the evening. Nor is it nearly the hassle to exit the theater and get on the road, back home, that Taft's Corners is famous for. Again, like everyone else in the area, I loved the novelty of stadium seating and larger screens when the Majestic first opened, but now, I prefer the easier access, much more comfortable seats, and the lack of large crowds and heavy traffic that Palace Cinema 9 offers.
Great theater
Decent movie theater. Sometimes too loud.
Great theater good prices
Best movie theatre for 30 miles, bar none.
Seems on the older side. I prefer going to the Majestic 10 or the Roxy...also owned by the same people. Popcorn is tasty at all locations.
Went for special showing of Grease. They couldn't get the film to play and gave us no update for 35 minutes. Very disappointed.
The theater is well maintained. However, I prefer stadium seating.
Good Theatre with comfortable seating. It is GREAT that they don't show 3D here so you don't need to plan around times if you don't like 3D.
I was the only person in the room. Krispy. Old and gone. Sorry.
Very poor customer service from front desk staff. 8/9/18, 9-11:30pm
Great price but no stadium seating.
Good prices and the chairs are nice. They also offer some unique event views.
Close to downtown. Plus less expensive than most.
