Great, large screen theater (65 feet wide I think!) and awesome sound to go with the wave of 3D movies. Very clean facility as well as they offer a nice loyalty program and are very interactive across the social media platforms. Wish the restaurant and bar idea took off more as I miss the on-site drink prior to watching a flick. The owner: Dan is the Man!

Great place to see a movie. The staff is helpful and couteous. I lost my cell phone there recently. The next morning they had the phone waiting for me to pick up. Definitely my favorite place to see a movie.

I love this theater and the employees there. It is, hands down, the best theater anywhere in this area. My only suggestion would be that you reduce ticket prices for movies in Theater #10. It's just way too small to cost the same as seeing a movie in one of the regular-sized theater rooms. You charge extra for the T-Rex because it so big, why not take a little off for the theater that is so small? A reduced ticket price would make me see movies there, but as it is, if a film is playing in that theater I skip it. Not a complaint though, just a suggestion. I see all my blockbusters in the T-Rex, so worth it!

Excellent theater! Staff is very friendly and the place is quite clean. Restrooms are numerous and well-kept, and the individual theaters themselves seemed to be well maintained between viewings (nothing is worse than sitting down in someone else's popcorn!). If I had any recommendations it would be to consider expanding the snack selection and offering later/midnight showtimes, but those factors do not impact my positive view of the theater in a meaningful way.

And how come the pretzels are either never available or simply just not cooked right, too cold or over cooked and hard?

It's the best theater in VT! The theater is always clean and and the staff are very friendly. The seats are nice and big and comfy, every theater is "stadium style" so all can see, and the TRex theater is amazing! It's huge with bigger seats and a very big screen! I absolutely love how this theater hosts some premier parties as well, so much fun!!!

This is my go-to movie theater in northern Vermont. It's reasonably priced (compared to Majestic 10 in Williston), has both 2D and 3D options, numerous theaters, yummy snacks and lots of great movie options and promotions. The seats are comfortable. The sound quality is good. Sometimes they have trilogy marathons and other special events that are unique and a lot of fun. As someone who grew up in Vermont and has lived here my whole life, I definitely recommend this theater.

We were sitting in the TRex theater and a couple came and sat behind us, during the previews, we were passing the snacks, due to the whispers of asking if we wanted the snack or not, the couple went down to complain that we were being "loud". A worker came up and spoke with us, he was completely professional, then 2 more times the couple went down to complain again, when we whispered a question about the movie to eachother... so 2 workers came up, we had told them what was happening, and they still threatened to throw us out next time, there was a couple right directly in front of us that hadn't heard us the whole time, if anything they should've been complaining too, but we were not being loud. Instead of telling the couple behind us to move, we were threatened we were gonna be thrown out?? They were the only ones complaining?? Doesn't that say something?? The staff obviously doesn't know how to do their jobs properly!!

This theater is by far the best in Vermont. The T-Rex is great with the sound, screen size and comfortable seating. Snacks are expensive, but they are everywhere. If you watch a lot of movies than I highly recommend the A-List Swag Loyalty card. It is free and you earn discounts such as free popcorn, drinks and movie tickets. I want to give a special thanks to management and owners for giving military a discount. It is very appreciated and one important reason why I continue to come here for movies.

I am partially disabled and when I could not sit in their seats without extreme pain, we had to leave BEFORE the movie started. The management refused to give us a refund but offered us a credit for later use. What, you think my disability is going to magically go away after 40 years ? What good is giving us a credit when I can't sit in these seats ? Soooo angry at their treatment of people with disabilities, I wish everybody would boycot this theatre !

I'm not sure why anyone would go to the Majestic with this place right up the road. Awesome screens (especially T-REX), killer sound, clear 3D, comfortable seating, yummy popcorn. I drive an hour JUST to come here on a regular basis. Best theater in the state by a HUGE margin, yet they are constantly improving. Why? Because they clearly care about the movie watching experience. I recommend this place to anyone.

Went to the movies on New Years Day. To my surprise the movie theatre was pretty quiet, we had the whole theatre to ourself while watching our movie. Service is underwhelming but fine, movie sound and quality were very satisfactory and place was clean. Will return.

I hate to give a bad review. I do so in the hopes that it is used to improve the experinece because I enjoyed going in the past but I've been a little disappointed lately. The first problem is that it was difficult to figure out the schedule. They had it on a screen in a corner away from where the tickets are sold. The guy at the counter had to look up in the system to tell us which show we could make. Neither of the movies we wanted to watch in 3D were available in the 6-8 time slot we had on a Tuesday night of a holiday week. These movies had just come out. So we had to settle for non 3D. The sound is what bothers me the most. Whoever is controlling the sound doesn't know what they are doing. The balance between the music and dialogue was not good. The eq was terrible, it sounded boxy and muddy. And overall it wasn't loud enough. It's like it was tailored for 70-80 year olds for a Disney animation film for mostly kids and young adults. This is not something one can run up to the kids working that night to ask them to fix.

This is my FAVORITE theater. It has a T-Rex, lots of screens, so you know there is always a movie playing that you want to see. The seats are SO SO comfortable too. I'm a big girl and the arms go up if you need extra room. Lol. The popcorn isn't too bad either. The place, including the restroom is clean. They also have great give-aways on Facebook and maybe other media. The ONLY reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the parking is difficult and I have been spoiled by my hometown theater which uses ACTUAL BUTTER for popcorn! I don't go there anymore. Lol.

The Essex Cinemas has numerous screens and always offers the 2-D and the 3-D versions of films for those who prefer the old school experience but their T-Rex theater is simply amazing in both scale and sound. It is the finest theater in Vermont.

T-Rex Theater: comfortable seats, nice screen but the stadium seating is so far away from the screen that it really doesn’t feel all that ‘T-Rex’—if you’re expecting an IMAX experience you will be really disappointed, especially considering the $15 ticket price. All other theaters/screens: don’t bother—Very outdated theaters with uncomfortable and crammed seats (good luck if you’re over 5’10), horrible sound (LOUD voices/everything else is whisper quite –regardless of which theater you’re in) and 3D so messed up you can actually see the movie better without the glasses on. and don't even get me started on how absurd it is that they even sell tickets to that dinky little screen off the bar--most people's living rooms are bigger/have better TVs. If you’re a film buff and you care about presentation, skip it—the staff does not know how to fix any issue that pops up. Not blaming them at all, they are very nice, they're clearly just not able to/not trained.

The T-Rex screen is specific is the best place in Vermont to see a movie. Watching "The Force Awakens" there was an awesome experience. Great crowd, amazing sound (you could seriously feel the canons), awesome screen, and really nice seating.

Locally owned, they offer military discounts, and have very comfortable seating. Screens, projectors, and sound are all modern so it's as good as any theater in the area plus they have the T-Rex which is a massive IMAX style theater.

Essex Cinemas is our favorite place to see a movie in Northwester Vermont. Going to the movie theater is still a magically and highly anticipated form of entertainment for our family. I just wish the staff at the theater shared our enthusiasm and made each visit a bit more special. They are friendly enough and that about tops it. The theater is clean and comfortable and most importantly, family friend.
