My family and I saw a play called And The Moon Stayed at the Princess Theater in Harriman, TN. It is a retelling of Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale. The play was excellently done. Well worth seeing!

The Princess Theatre is of the crown jewel Harriman. They used to show movies when I was a kid but eventually closed the doors. Now it is restored and used for band concerts, dance performances, stage productions, and the like. The city will occasionally show movies for a holiday or something, but nothing currently in theatres nationwide.

The princess theatre has been a landmark in Harriman for 40 years. They used to show movies then it closed down and sat empty for many years. About five years ago the city of Harriman and Roans state community college got together and remodeled it and reopened it, but the problem is that they only have programs from Roane state they do not show movies which I think is a mistake

This is s wonderfully restored, yet simple theatre with a layout for any cosy performance. Great for local artists and those on the rise to fame. As an interior designer graduate, I love the functional floor plan.

As a child growing up in Midtown, my dad would take me and a friend on Saturdays to the Princess. I remember that it cost a quarter to get in and popcorn was ten cents.
