This Movie Theater is included in the category of Movie theater.
The venue has courteous staff.
Movies plus you get to drink? Heck yeah! Theaters are beautiful inside, tons of good snacks to buy plus booze!!! And they show movies that some theaters around wont show.
Great staff and venue!
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and great movies. I recommend you experience it for yourself.
Great local theatre playing independent films. Great film series and midnight cult classics. Popcorn made with real butter and super friendly employees.
ALWAYS a great time @Belcourt! Thanks, Ryan & Brennan! (Gosh, I hope I spelled your names correctly!)
Love this place even more since the renovation. Haven't been here since they redid it. Looks great, theater was wonderful, and it is always nice to get to catch a movie shown in film.
Delightful place! Get there early, it fills up fast
It's a great place to see Indy and foreign films. The employees are always wonderful and helpful.
Really cool place to see a movie near the Vanderbilt campus. They clearly care about film and making sure it's presented in the best possible environment. The tickets are pretty cheap, especially with a membership (reciprocal all around the country)! The concessions looked great and featured a bunch of local Nashville food and drink. Highly recommend!
Nice theater with free parking!
Historic theater. Has added two additional screening rooms, one small and intimate. The main room is like stepping back in time. Extensive refreshments including wine. Shows mostly art house movies with occasional first run movies in limited release. Supported by grants and memberships, but open to the public.
Great staff and fabulous arthouse theater.
Took the kids to see It's A Wonderful Life over the holidays. The facility is great and the concessions prices are wonderful. I only wish they had kid friendly films with greater regularity.
Lovely little independent cinema.
Our first time to the Belcourt, and we enjoyed the show. It has that old time feeling of a small town theater but up scale amenities, and tickets are less expensive than the big movie chains. Staff was great we plan on going again.
Love this place. Great staff. Great theaters. Amazing films and special events. They really love sharing films with people. The midnight movies are just over the top fun. We once played the old school Nintendo game for the film we were seeing on the projector before the film. These are great people who really deserve thanks for how much effort they put into these events. So, Thank you! Also they have great weekend morning kids movies! We recently saw A Town Called Panic!
I enjoyed the show there and I'm glad they redid the movie theater
Discovered this theatre yesterday when I was trying to find theatres playing Sorry To Bother You. I’ve been living in Nashville going on 3 years and wish I knew of this theater earlier. Nice theater with good prices! SN: Sorry To Bother You was a great movie. Very original, I definitely recommend. I plan on seeing it AGAIN today at THIS theater lol.
Great experience watching the film showing of Once upon a Time in Hollywood.
Came to see Mandy with Nicholas Cage. Fantastic sound! It was so loud it shook the seats! An amazing experience and I would go back again! Only complaint is the seats didn't have quite enough of an incline where I was, so people in front can possibly get in the way. Overall, amazing!
Very clean and with great selections of Indi movies. My girlfriend and I had a great date with Fido brunch before our movie. We will definitely be returning
Cozy & fancy theater. Clean. Has refreshments and snacks too.
Love the midnight showings. Looks like a completely different place since the remodel. Ticket prices are, in my opinion, more than fair for the overall experience. Those drink prices, though.. I believe it's about $10 for a single, $20 for a double.. but for most theatres that have liquor licenses, that's to be expected. Just walk down the road and get what you want before or after; otherwise, concession prices are good enough.
This is Nashville's independent film theater. Recently remodeled, It now has 3 theaters(one is a small screening room). No reserved seats, no reclining seats, but comfortable enough. Nice venue and pleasant employees. You'll see films here that you won't see anywhere else in town.
Often the only theatre in town with a wide selection of independent films. Their membership helps you save on drink, snack, and ticket prices, which are already well under those of typical movie theatres. The staff is friendly, and the seating is plentiful if not always spectacularly comfortable.
Clean, spacious theater with free parking nearby.
One of the finest movie theaters I have ever been to. Spacious auditoriums with large screens and superb visual and audio projection. For the true movie lover, which I am, the Belcourt is Nirvana.
Best movie art theater in mid South!!!
First time experience saw Amazing Grace. Beautiful comfortable theater and friendly staff!
Great place for classic and cult flicks
If you’re new to Nashville, there are few places I recommend to welcome you and The Belcourt Theatre is top on that short list. I feel right at home at The Belcourt!
I've been seeing films here since I was young and will continue to do so. The film selections are always great and I was thankful for the renovation as adding extra screens allows for more! Thanks for being a constant friend, Belcourt!
Quaint theatre that shows indie and foreign films. If we lived in Nashville, we'd definitely visit pretty often. Also close to restaurants so the sooner and a movie date works perfectly here.
Best place in town for independent/international films.
Absolutely love the place, but the parking is atrocious! Get there early on special events to find any! I do love the re-model though I do miss the vintage feel of the old. Music City Mondays are the best! Love that line of movies, I try to hit it weekly
Great theater! Saw Free Solo. Sound is great, video is great, seats are comfortable. Very clean theater.
Belcourt Theater has always been a great arts theater, but since the remodel, it is greater than great! The variety of films and special events has something for everyone. You can get a parking pass when you purchase your tickets. Good snacks (popcorn has improved) and they serve alcohol.
Horray for The Favourite! And the wonderful staff at the Belcourt!
Nice place
Since I've never been to the remodeled building, it was hard to see where to "step" once you're inside the dark theatre. It took me about 1.5 minutes to adjust to the dark. A slither of light would be great! Otherwise, I enjoyed the rest of my stay.
Favorite place to see a movie in Nashville. The renovations are nice too. I love that they have art upstairs. Always fun to go see what they have on display. They offer all the latest independent film releases but also tons of classic/cult midnight movies as well as Saturday kid's films. AND they partner with Jack White's third man records for special showings. Tons to offer and it's great.
Nice....concession too EXPENSIVE 5.00 FOR 12 oz.of soda RIDICULOUS
This place is the best. Current and older films. Midnight movies. Beer and popcorn. I always like to come here for a movie break. The theaters are smallish and the seats comfy. The Belcourt is a fun place to spend a few hours and get lost in the stories!
Newly remodeled. The perfect little theater for specialty movies. Programs that play here can't be seen just anywhere.
Always playing interesting and unique films
Real small parking lot, but the theater is good
This a really nice little old-fashioned theater that gets terrific films you can't see in the mass-market theaters. They also have better popcorn as well as things like hummus! Visit them online for their offerings and you won't regret it. The most difficult thing is the parking, so plan ahead.
Very cool place to see some interesting films. Has a good community feel and is clean and organized.
Really enjoyed movie and atmosphere
This is a cute older style redone movie theater. The inside has the old school feel but it is clean and new. Enjoyed the atmosphere, movie and location
Wonderful classic theater with great sound!
Love the films you can see here and no other theaters show them. Good concessions too.
One of the best indie/art house theaters in the country.
Great small theatre. They usually show some more obscure films that are very entertaining. Finding parking will be difficult. Bring change for a parking meter or arrive very early to find a validated parking spot next to the theatre. I have not tried the food, but I have had a few drinks from there. I did not enjoy the tea or coffee, but this is always just preference. The atmosphere is wonderful. The individual theatres each have a unique theme. Some are small and some are much larger. The seats are comfortable and the audio/video quality is great! You won't need to worry about crowded theatres or fighting for a seat. Matinee showings are always great. They have cheaper prices and easier parking as well. All in all, one of my favorite theatres.
Love the screening room!
Great place to take a date!
Excellent Arthouse Movies
Small theater, but well kept and great staff. Good prices for concessions.
This is such a great little theater! The staff is friendly, and the remodeling they did is superb!
Love this place. Glad they remodeled and put the box office inside and expanded the interior. Also freshening up the outside. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if your going to Rocky Horror or on special occasions so if your going, go early to park and just walk across the street for a quick bite or get a snack at the theatre. You have your choice of popcorn, candy, soft drinks or cocktails. If you have never experienced the classic Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Belcourt, I highly recommend going at least once for Halloween.
Miss the old building but the theater is still awesome. Only place you can see art films & old films, AND have a beer! Wonderful .
Nice looking place. The $6 hotdog they sold me was stone cold, not even warm, literally uncooked in a bun never touched by fire or microwave. That's worth 2 stars in my book.
I preferred it before the remodel, but I am old school and don't like change.
Historic theater recently went under great renovation. Shows a lot of indieflix and documentaries. Pro tip just park in their lot and when you buy a ticket they will give you a parking pass to go put on your dash. Don't pay to park in another lot nearby. Tickets are only like $10 too which is great. Even their snacks are reasonable compared to mainstream theaters. Always a classy date.
Always something thought-provoking and/or that you wouldn't see someplace else. Love going. Ask to have your parking validated when you buy your ticket. I particularly like Music Mondays.
Nice little theater that has reasonable prices
Great small theater. Some films are foreign with English subtitles. They give you a parking ticket. The popcorn is soooooo good . I like the quaint smallness of the refurbished " saved from destruction" theatre. It was built in 1920 and would have been razed if not for the passion of one woman!
Love everything about this place!! Relaxed, cozy atmosphere and very respectful patrons combined with movies that you typically can't find in your cookie cutter theaters. Also a great selection of concessions and beverages make Belcourt Theater a wonderful choice for a great night out!!
The best theater in the country.
The Belcourt is an incredible local theater filled with warm seating, a strict no cell policy, good heat/air, and the best line up of fills in town. Perfect place to come unwind. Some of my best memories are here.
The Belcourt always has an amazing selection of films, and very often runs fantastic midnight movies of various classic or cult hits.
Went to Echo Canyon. Great film for Boomers. Music and personalities. There is no mistaking Bob Dylan's son, Jacob, who is the narrator and interviewer.
Have not seen one movie I've disliked here. Clean and comfy, to boot.
Fantastic non-profit theatre that stays busy with a lot to offer.
Great set up!
Very cool venue.
Excellent experience in everyway. Lovely cinema with loads of character & great selection of movies!
Renovations are beautiful! Great movie offerings, wonderful selections for concession stand. Thank you for offering this experience in Nashville.
Best arts theatre in the greater Middle Tennessee area. Enuf said.
Few things in Nashville give me the warm and fuzziest like this place. Best popcorn, best movies, cold beer. GET SOME!
Nostalgic theater, great customer service, movie selections are superb. Avid fan.
Always a great experience. Get there early to ensure the seat of your choice. Expect cool movies in a fun space with a delightful staff. Vegan and GF options available for snacking. Good beer and wine, too. The tiny theater upstairs is my favorite!
A beautiful theater! It’s like traveling back in time for a showing at one of our great theaters. Since the renovation the facility looks amazing.
Amazing theater. I love its new look and it's a terrific spot to catch a flick.
This is by far one of my favorite places in Nashville. Love all the indie film options they have available and they also show classic movies as well, the ones you may have never caught in theater. The place is very well kept and clean and the staff does a nice job of making you feel welcome here. Highly recommend this for anyone that appreciates film and it’s art medium. Plenty of smaller and fantastic quality films that people never get a chance to see but is readily available here. They support film art here and create a culture and opportunity for next generation folks to keep that art alive and thriving. Go check this place out and support them.
We have loved the Belcourt for over 30 years. On a recent visit, we found the seating to be extremely uncomfortable to the point that we talked about leaving halfway through the movie. The theater has recently undergone major renovation, but it seems that new seats were not installed.
Break away from the norm and mainstream. Treat yourself to something offbeat, artistically masterful, enriching, or thought-provoking. This is truly a cultural center that contributes to the uniqueness of Nashville.
A really cute place and if u can find a spot to park, they will give you a free pass. We we're in the screening room for "sorry to bother you" at a matinee. Tickets are a little pricey but they are a nonprofit so that makes it worth it. Also the staff is very pleasant.
Great theater. I've seen lots of fantastic movies here, from indie films to campy genre films. Their Science on Screen programming is also great. The inside is meticulously clean, and the concessions have a great selection. Whatever your cinematic itch, Belcourt can scratch it. One slight warning: Sometimes the speakers are loud and treble-heavy (esp. with older indie films). In that case, I'd recommend bringing along some ear filters or ear plugs.
Great place
Classic Nashville, wonderful movies.
Unusual movies
Highly recommend The Farewell!
Not sure why the lobby is so gigantic. You could fit 3000 bird scooters in there
Best movie theater ive been in. Saw the Queen of Soul
Great indy movies....intimate theaters. Perfect for "something different" to do or date night.
Lost my Rocky Horror virginity here! Very recently. Had a fantastic time.
Free parking. Great little theater! Super clean
The renovation looks amazing and the classic style seating brings you back to your childhood. The movie selection is awesome and the staff are both friendly and helpful, reminded me to get a parking pass for my car when I forgot to. Thank you!
Recently renovated with comfortable seating, friendly staff, and a good selection of concessions. Parking is free with a ticket purchase. The seating is cozy and, although the showing rooms are smaller than a conventional theater, they are less crowded. Plus the audience tend to really respect the cinema here and I found them to be much less distracting than what you find in the other theaters.
Go watch independent films!
First time going to this theater and it was much nicer than I expected. I took my mom to see Aretha Franklin's "Amazing Grace" which was a fun and exciting movie. The place was clean and had lots of seats to use before the movie opened up for seating. Now the seats in the theater are not state of the art but I assumed that before going since this is an old school theater but they have still been well kept. The concession stand had several alcoholic options which was a nice change. I got coffee and popcorn and they both were hot and good. The only thing that I didn't like was that this place has limited space so they only had two attendees running the ticket booth which caused the line to grow but the ladies were both fast and friendly. This place has an old Hollywood theater feel and offers mostly independent, foreign, and documentary movies which I love. The also offer summer midnight shows and rereleased movies with a twist such as "Set It Off" and pizza with "Slim and husky" pizza in May. Seems like fun and entertaining. I definitely will keep this place in mind for the future.
Great art/indie facility. Customer friendly
Belcourt is a Nashville Treasure. Bought my Membership after a gift subscription expired. I LuV the Belcourt. The snack bar has great Draft & bottled selections & wine & healthy snack beside the standard movie fare I highly recommend it.
Amazing Grace was an incredible documentary. Thought I was in church.
The theater is beautiful and they have great independent movies.
This the best of the last two independent movie theater in the Nashville area.
Amazing and thought provoking cinema mixed with seriously the best popcorn. Plan ahead for parking. The staff is helpful and friendly. One of my most favorite places in Nashville.
Every community should have something like this. A beautiful space, friendly staff and always a thought-provoking selection of movies, new and old to enjoy
Great historic movie theater. Special art films.
It's a lovely theater and excellent place to see non commercial films. In other words, the only films worth seeing! Parking is validated while you're there!
Cute theater. Expensive concessions ($5 for candy). Sells wine, beer, and cocktails. Parking can be difficult to find but they offered to validate which was nice!
One of the best cinematic experiences in my life was right here watching a movie on 35mm! Like it never went away, something's just speak to the heart
Nashville's art-house cinema. Proud to be a member.
Where else, but the Belcourt Theater can you see the best foreign and independent film? It's also extremely well run boasts a string education program that often brings in directors, actors or local film/genre experts to introduce films and host post-screening discussion (a string shoot to Allison for her wonderful work)
They have such a wonderful movie selection that you can't see anywhere else. Staff is always helpful and kind. The only downside is the seats don't have neck support and can be a bit uncomfortable.
Great place to watch independent films. The theater has been recently remodeled and is nice inside. Make sure to get a parking pass from the cashier.
This was our first time visiting Belcourt Theatre and it was a great experience! The staff was friendly, fast, and the entire venue (especially the bathrooms) were neat and tidy. We will definitely drive the hour to visit again!
The Bellcourt is a Nashville staple. It's the only place you can see movies that will be nominated for the Academy awards. I suggest anyone out of town visiting to check out a film there.
A great place to watch movies new and old. Support these types of places!!!
The confessions were extremely pricey but the movie was good the fact that they served alcohol was a plus
WONDERFUL SETTING FOR TIGHTLY NIT FAMILIES
Excellent customer service
Ticketing is streamlined. Lobby is spacious and the upstairs space features interesting art works. The expanded offerings at the concession stand are terrific. One of the best things is the new restrooms! The old "one-holer" has given way to a space that easily accommodates the after-the-movie emergencies as well providing space and facilities for more than one person at a time to wash their hands!!
The Belcourt is a fantastic place to take in a movie- they have new and older films, niche films, art films. It's a nonprofit, so you'll be helping the community. Great snacks and bar available as well. Comfy chairs!
Love this place with all my independent-film-obsessed heart. While developers are working feverishly to replace history-shifting recording studios with more overpriced condos and hotels boasting thoughtless architecture, the Belcourt gives me a glimmer of hope that Nashville will have at least one unique cultural quality left untouched by dynamite and bulldozers. Anyone else agree with me? :)
Love it because the best they show the best movies and documentaries.
A great art house movie theater. A good variety of movies. Craft beer and wine as well as traditional moviehouse favorites are available at reasonable prices. The theater is not at all like an old theatre well past his prime, but a very clean modern museumesque vibe.
Wonderful pricing, fascinating selection of films.
I really like this place. They will play strange and obscure movies that are well worth a watch.
The Belcourt has been such a huge part of my life as a Nashvillian - I can’t imagine who I would be without it. There is always fantastic programming and the people who make it happen are passionate, wonderful humans. Long may she reign.
Amazing atmosphere and great staff.
Love this place. Low stress environment, high quality films, beer and wine at the concessions, clean and beautiful interior. Nashville is lucky to have this place.
kinda pricey but so is everywhere else and plus you're contributing to the support of independent film. Really pretty theaters. Parking is free if you get a stub once you pay for your tickets.
I have been here twice this year and it's fantastic. The staff are so friendly. They utilize lotsnof local vendors for snacks. Great experience.
Unique atmosphere! I enjoyed it!
This place has so much respect for the arts, that it’s kinda crazy. Their theaters are gorgeous and they’re always playing movies with high critical acclaim (regardless of box office success. Which means most of them are independent films). Then they have midnight movies on the weekends where they play classics (like Jaws, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, The Godfather) at midnight. Their tickets are usually lower than the average theaters (around $10) and they have GREAT POPCORN
Wonderful theater & programming. Unique, mostly excellent films from around the world.
People behave themselves because they're serious about movies.
The Belcourt first opened in 1925 and in 2016 it was beautifully restored. They screen indie, popular, cult, and classic movies. Parking is a little limited; however, if you buy your tickets online ahead of time, you'll get a parking pass you can print out before you go. I recommend arriving extra early so you can get a good parking spot. There are plenty of nice coffee shops nearby in case you need to kill time before the show. The theatre also offers a higher-end snack bar.
Very nice theater for Independent film. Free parking.
First time at a theater like this. I liked it. Everyone was very friendly. Screening room was small, but great picture and sound.
I went to see Amazing Grace
Wonderful. Remodeled. Great munchies. Gems of films.
Nice theatre. They pay for parking if you purchase a ticket from them. I think that's great
Great theater, anyone going though should know some of the theaters are quite small so a talkative group might be more noticeable. Otherwise, shows a great selection of movies and has a fantastic level of quality.
Stopping to get line #'s for Rifftrax tonight. Parking of any kind is hard to find this afternoon. Prepare for a little walk from another area.
