We live in Spearfish and have always enjoyed the staff. With that being said, I feel that there rates are comparable to a big city cinema with stadium seating, rumble chairs, 4k and screens that continue onto the ceiling. Overall I am happy to have a theater in town, but we have a family of 6 so a trip to the movies is around $75, and always leaves us feeling cold, crammed and dirty. We would attend weekly if the building was up to par.

I love their pop corn and the military discount. The early movies are great in the winter as many of us travel from 15-30 miles away. The place is clean, but the seats in the older theaters need to be replaced. Over it is great for your money.

This theatre is enchanting, small-town, old fashioned but modern and clean, and the popcorn tastes like the first time you ever had buttered popcorn. We drive up from Rapid City because the experience is so friendly, quaint, and considerate. It is like going back in time.

I'm generally pretty happy with this local theater. Sure the popcorn is too expensive but that seems to be a trend nationally. I don't think i've paid less then 8 bucks for a small popcorn anywhere while traveling. They do have a pretty good popcorn and drink deal for college students on tuesdays which is nice. The seats in the old part of the theater are pretty used up but they make up for it with friendly staff. Always seem to get the popular movies in often on their release date. Not the best theater in the world but its our local theater and i'm happy to support it.

I purchased tickets online and showed up a few minutes early. There was a long line for showtime's after mine (opening night of deadpool 2), which I tried to pass since I had already purchased tickets but was told I still had to wait in line to get paper tickets, which made me late to my show. Purchasing tickets online is done so you don't have to show up super early. Please find a way (either a designated concession resister or a scanner at the theater door) to accommodate those who purchase tickets ahead of time. I have otherwise been to this theater several times during non busy times without incident.

Checked the schedule a week in advance to make sure the movie the whole family wanted to see when daughter came home from college would be playing. Checked google to make sure it was still playing and it showed 8:00 just like it did last week, but when we got to the theater management decided to pull it a day ago. Would’ve been nice if you’d updated online or even just had the right schedule to begin with. Management is VERY lacking! Not the first time this has happened either. From now on we’ll just plan a trip to Rapid so we know our plans will actually happen.

Picture quality in theater 2 is horrible, perhaps the same in all. Dark and blurry. Of course snacks are exorbitant. Friendly staff and nice to have $1 soda refills.

Sucked... movie was in the Luxury theater...wasn't full so we moved over one seat to give us room from the couple sitting next to us. A female attendant came by & told is we had to sit in our assigned seat. We said we'd move if someone needed the seat...she came back in 10. Minutes & said if we didn't move she was going to call security...end of story...nobody sat there. I will not go back to this theater.

The two theaters they use for major releases, are their worst. Try avoiding theater 2 and 3, those are the theaters with the crappiest seating, all of the other theaters are comfortable and nice. Other than that, the place is very clean and the workers are very nice

Agreed - for what they charge for popcorn, why cannot they put butter on it half way through and then more on top if you ask. But if you ask for that they act like it is a capitol crime they cannot commit. Otherwise, love the little hometown theater.

Needs stadium seating in two of the theaters. Popular movies where large audiences are expected are shown in one of them that doesn't have stadium style seating and it becomes very difficult to see around the person in front of you.

Been coming since I was a kid...always great....but there are only 2 updated theatres out of 5 or whatever. So If your stuck in one of those 3 it's very uncomfortable and doesn't have a very good viewing angle especially if some one sits in front of you. I've been to other theatres for the same price that served actual food and beer...and had power reclining seats that were bigger than most beds...just saying....needs a serious overhaul if they are gonna charge that much or if people continue to go. On the bright side they are. Always on time with movies coming out friendly staff and great picture and sound......the seating tho!!!!!

Good place to watch a movie 'cept they don't take your popcorn fresh out of the machine or put butter except only on top. I asked them to do differently for me and add butter in the middle but they claimed management doesn't allow it. Well why not?...are they a little on the slow side? For what they charge for popcorn I would think they would give it to me MY WAY! Now I just eat heavily before going to the movie and don't order their popcorn anymore. (btw, they used to do it when the original owner had it)

Decided to have a family outing today. My kids had some candy from earlier that day finishing it up before the movie started. Some blonde loud woman and a guy with glasses came around and told us that it wasn't allowed. That's understandable. After that they NEVER came back to tell the rest of that customers that their outside candy and soda are not allowed. It is against the rules to bring your outside food in to the theater. Isn't it more ridiculous how much they charge for popcorn, soda or candy? We will will not be back. Also, maybe the theaters would be more welcoming if they didn't smell like urine or butt. It's really not that hard to clean.

The newer seating is fantastic but the older seating is not. Additionally, the older theaters are FREEZING so be sure to bring your winter coat at all times of the year. The price of one small popcorn and a small drink is $10.00 so if you bring kids, be prepared to take out a loan prior to attending the movie. Otherwise, the lady who takes the money for the tickets is very friendly and the kids behind the counter are usually friendly as well (though they at least have the dignity to look embarrassed when the total for candy and popcorn hits $30.00!)

Small local theater that offers no frills but you can purchase tickets online with no surcharges or fees such is a huge plus! The staff is friendly and was spotted cleaning the snack bar diligently during the movie. They did lots of special decorating for the latest Star Wars release to add to the fun.

They wouldn’t let me bring in my own water in a clear container, nor would they provide a water cup. “There are fountains in the hall” As my family and friends will say, I choke if I’m not drinking while I eat. I drink between every bite to avoid a hospital visit. Guess who isn’t buying popcorn. You’d think with theater shootings, movie piracy, and theater hopping, outside water would be the least of their worries.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Everything here is expensive, usually about $11 per adult, and $7 matine weekends. Popcorn, snacks and drinks are highly expensive. You gotta pay for refills, and usually by the time you pay for your ticket, you've got like just enough to get a bag of cotton candy and that's it...i mean..you wonder people are bringing outside snacks ? LOWER YOUR FOOD PRICES ! This place has been the only theater game in town for years There's luxury setting here now which is cool..only took years lol Sometimes they have free throwback movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s which is neat.

This is a small town theater. The seats are so small I had to squeeze in (I'm not so large that this is an issue anywhere else). I took my 2 teenagers and was squished in between them. It was an uncomfortable 3 hrs. But, the staff was very friendly and service at the snack counter was great. Clean bathrooms.

Every time I go to this theatre, a staff member walks down the middle of the aisle and (I’m assuming) checks to make sure no one has brought any extra snacks. This is very distracting as the movie has already started. They have the fountain sodas set up so customers can fill their own soda, but still charge extra for refills. After the movie, the drink machines are shut off and there are ropes set up that passive aggressively tell you “you’ve seen your movie, now get out”. I end up leaving feeling like I would rather attend a theatre that isn’t so stingy and strict. The only positive is there was one staff member who had a friendly chat with me while I waited for my partner to finish using the restroom.

They have one very nice theater that they call “luxury”. Unfortunately, they typically only show the 2nd tier movies in it. I assume that’s designed to make people want to see the less popular movies, that would be fine except for every other theatre at the place is basically the oldest and worst theatre you can find. If you happen to find a movie you want to see playing in the “luxury” room it’s totally worth going. Every showing of anything not in the luxury room should be avoided.

Not bad for a small local theater. The building is small and a little old, but it's clean and well-cared for. The individual theaters aren't amazing, but they're totally serviceable. Pricing is on the high side for concessions, but right in line with the multiplexes. They e-mail coupons every week, and sometimes that helps make the popcorn and soda a little less painful.
