Avoid if you can. We would come to a lot more movies here, but, every time we come there is some avoidable complication that leads to unneeded frustration. -The facility is broken down and outdated. Have even snagged and ripped jeans on broken seats with exposed metal. -Long wait at ticket and concessions, even when not busy, even with pre-purchased tickets. -15 minutes before movie still can’t access theatre seating because facility not yet clean. -No pre-flux, no music, just a dark awkward room. -Movies don’t start on time. Have had to find staff and ask them to start a movie multiple times. The list goes on and on and on...

Love the staff and they have decent food. Main reason not 5 stars is that the past few times the lights were not on before the movie started. Very nitpickish I know, but I challenge you to try and find a seat in a dark theater with only the aisle lights that are in the floor on and you have your kids and arms full of snacks and popcorn arguing about where to sit. I think that is where they got the inspiration for Bird Box.

Twice, we have gone to AMC Aberdeen to watch The Post. First time, cashier told us theater 9. We entered and waited 25 minutes PAST started time. When movie started, it was Paddington 2, NOT The Post. Went again today. Stood in line to get tickets, only to be told they weren't showing The Post today. REALLY??? They couldn't put a sign out front stating that instead of having people wait 15 minutes in line? Seriously not impressed since AMC took over this theater.

The AMC has really gone downhill since I remember being there last. The dim lighting in theater two was broken, so I had to use my phone's light to find a good seat, which is awkward for everyone in the theater. Some seats had broken arms, so multiple areas where there are no cup holders and metal exposed. Service staff worked well.

Things have improved since AMC has taken over, at least in terms of getting soda refills and have more control over popcorn toppings. However the theater is understaffed, resulting in long wait times and disgusting bathrooms. It’s unfortunate because this is one of the only theaters within 60ish miles, but it is not well taken care of, along with the rest of the Aberdeen Mall. It’s a shame for the small communities who come to Aberdeen because its the nearest “big” city in the area.

I am very disappointed with the quality this theater is in. Multiple seats are broke in half or completely missing. It is a dangerous place. I have tripped multiple times because the lights on the floor are almost all gone or completely gone.

First the movie kidnap website states starts at 630 we arrived and movie playing apparently the website is wrong. Here it is 700 and still waiting for movie to start. Then u pay out of your butt ...but have to fill your own pop and butter your own pop corn.. then movie screen is ripped . So either lower the prices or fix things up.

If you are an AMC stubs premier member, don't bother. Not enough staff. No VIP status here. Only reason they received a second star is the popcorn was fresh. Stood in line over half hour to get tickets and concessions. Worst AMC theater I have visited. Next time will stay in hotel and get PPV movie.

Horrible theater! So sick of it. I don’t even know where to start. Theaters are always freezing cold. We take blankets and have to leave our winter coats on. The last three visits the coke was gone. Popcorn machine was down one other time. Bathrooms are filthy. Ticket Lines are slow and long do to lack of help. Stubs scanners don’t work. Most of the time the movie start time is late. Most expensive movie within 300 miles. Even the cities cost less.

Prices were good, but theatre was cold and the employees required us to purchase a new popcorn bucket citing their manager told them after Christmas Eve they were no longer valid on 12/25/2018 even though the bucket clearly says it is valid to Dec 31st of 2018.

So sad to see how this theater has deteriorated physically and customer service. Slow service getting tickets today. My shoes stuck to floor as walking to carpeted area. Slower service at concessions, guy making popcorn had no idea how. Asked to see if burnt and clerk just said if you want to wait for next batch it will be 3 minutes .Pop machine was out of certain flavors. Napkins were brown paper towels from bathroom . sound quality was poor but sure was loud enough .Wow.

My bff and I went to see the final How to Train Your Dragon movie, we saw both the 1st and 2nd st the same movie Cineplex but I have to say that while the movie was AWESOME the theater that they showed it in was HORRIBLE!!! 1ST THE SEATS WERE OLD AND RICKETY. 2ND IT WAS SHOWN ON A SMALL SCREEN! 3RD NO SURROUND SOUND!!! 4TH Charged for all the above and didn't even get a heads up before we bought the tickets!! Would have had a better showing if I had waited for it to come out in DVD and watched it at my house!!!

Theater itself is in such disrepair it's crazy. Add the obnoxiously high cost of Tickets, Popcorn, and a Drink on top of that and it's almost a joke. If you get one of the theaters that either the sound isn't cutting in and out and hard to hear or the screen actually stays on instead of going black intermittently then consider yourself lucky. In 3 movie ventures over the last two months one or the other of these has happened to me. You tell the staff and all they say is they'll "look into it" and they go back to just talking to each other (since they only have 2 people on staff at most at a time it seems) and basically just ignore the issue. Worst part is you wont even get a refund for the horrid experience. Had high hopes that this place would be renovated and the carpet changed as well as the horridly uncomfortable seats changed out when AMC bought it out, but thus far thoroughly unimpressed. Nothing's changed aside from "Serve yourself pop" machines and a "Butter/Seasoning station" that's self-serve as well. While welcome additions, I'd have MUCH rather seen an improvement in the quality of the theater first before these amenities were added. TL;DR: Save your money and either wait for the Blu Ray or, for a MUCH BETTER experience (and cheaper tickets too!) just drive to Watertown and see a movie in their new, ULTRA-COMFORTABLE theaters. After you add in the price of gas from then back to Aberdeen, you're basically breaking even anyways given the cheaper prices in Watertown.

the showtimes at this theater make no sense. why have incredible 2 at 8:30 and only 1 showing of Ant-man and wasp at 4. makes no sense. This is the trend with this theater.

Had a hard time finding it! There are no signs on the outside of the mall signaling the theatre entrance. The parking lot is bomb-cratered like most other malls. The theatre itself was informal, manned by one young girl at the counter, selling tickets and selling concessions. The concessions were RIDICULOUS!!! $5.24 for a 16oz bottle of WATER!!! Gimme a fn break. Popcorn and candy were also exorbitantly price gouged.

Gets a worse wrap then it deserves honestly...its a midrange movie theater in a mall that is falling apart into nothingness. A couple screens have some flaws but nothing that will ruin the movie. Sound is sometimes softer than youd expect at a theater but you can always hear it perfectly fine. But honestly its pretty low priced to see brand new movies which makes up for its flaws

This is the worst theater I've ever been to. I've been here 5 times and 4 of them there's been something wrong. Movies start 15-45 minutes late, or won't start at all and you will have to get a refund. Not sure how this place is run so poorly but we need another theater in Aberdeen quick so we aren't stuck going to this one. It's insulting.

Where to start? I remember when I was young this was the movie theater to go to! It was great, the popcorn and everything was just great. Now that the movie theater has been under new management and a bunch of changes have been made, it has just gone downhill. The ticket sales are no loner at the front, so you wait in line to get tickets, popcorn, pop, and snacks. Making the lines a lot longer in length and time. They no longer put the butter on your popcorn for you, but have a station. They no longer fill the pop for you, but have a couple of awkwardly placed soda machines to do it yourself. Thus taking more time to get to your seat in the movie. Not to mention that they no longer have the titles of the movies above the theater entrance, so you go to the number printed on your ticket. Causing people to walk in and start watching the wrong movie. But they could have given you tickets to the wrong movie, but there's no way you could know. Also, I think they should have updated the seats before updating the soda and popcorn stand as some of the seats are bent out of shape so a person cannot sit comfortably in the seats. All in all, they should not have made any changes as they have not helped in trying to get people to go to the movie theater but chase them away. I am very disappointed as my family and I used to go to the movies almost every weekend. And lets not get me started on the increase in prices as it is outrageous for the junky movie theater, making the total experience just not worth it. I would much rather go and buy the movie when it comes out in the store and watch it at home. It is much more reasonably priced and much more comfortable.

Good popcorn and cheap tickets. However, the seats aren't very comfortable, you can hear the movie in the theater next to you, and the lights would randomly come on in the middle of our show. With how nice most theaters are now it's kind of falling behind.

First of all the staff here are really good people. Friendly and helpful. And the movies, refreshments and the like are at good prices, especially if you are a Stubs member. If you aren't a member, why not? It's definitely worth it! I would rate it higher but the company must not care to much about the facilities they have to work with in Aberdeen. Doesn't seem like the place has been updated in a good while. Really needs some money out into bathrooms, carpets and even some sound systems in some of the theatres. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for a place to see a good movie but it needs an update!

Actually one of the worst I have ever been to. The main reasons that I gave 1 star is the staff. The staff at AMC have to be the rudest and most disrespectful employees I have ever met. They were not polite, never said please or thank you, were always irritated. I even heard one mumble under her breath about how much she hates her job. They never seemed to show any form of curtsey or even an ounce of respect. And considering that you have to pay nearly $12 just to get in, you'd certainly expect much more.

They have had the same seats for far too long they are dirty, stained, and more often than not the arms are sticky or the floor is. My pop corn was burnt and there were lines on the screen that have been there since I was a kid... the trailers were way too loud and There were two stalls out of order. They either need new seating or new screens.

I have so many bad stories about this place. The roof leaking, movie cutting out half way and waste 30 minutes getting back to it, no heat in February!! Most of the staff Is rude kids. It is not clean. Not even 50% of the movies I see here goes without some issue.

Usually clean sometimes it's filthy. Friendly at the ticket booth and at concessions. But it's crazy expensive and one of the walls where the movie is projected there is some sort of blemish on the wall... Drives me absolutely insane. Also, sometimes I'll go out to get more drink/popcorn etc. and no one will be there... I've stood there for 10 minutes before. So dammit, I refilled my cup myself. I get you're the only Thayer in town so there is no competition. But damn. It's really not that bad though. A little TLC and better management would go a long way.

This is the worst theater I've ever been to. I've been all over the nation and this trumps every single one I've been to. On three occasions they haven't been open when there were supposed to be movies playing with no update at the theater or online. Sometimes for entire days they would be closed with no indication that they wouldn't be open. If you can ever get there when it just so happens to be open it is messy, has slow service, subpar food etc, and the seats are ok. The biggest reason I'm so upset though is the being closed thing. I have planned two dates completely around going to movies and then dinner etc, but then the theater is closed for no apparent reason! I'm so incredibly disappointed in this location, I will never return. 3rd time was the last straw.

It is sad the actual company doesn't care enough to come in and make the necessary calls in order to make this a respectable place again. I occasionally like to go see a movie but not in a theater with sticky floors, sticky seats, broken seats, trash cans over flooring, garbage and food all over the floor in the lobby, a very distinct smell of urine in atleast one of the theaters.. this could be a very nice place again if the company would actually come in and spend some money to make this a nice place. No doubt in my mind I for one would spend a lot more money here along with all the other customers they've lost in this location over the years.

The place was filthy. Popcorn and garbage on the floor. They were out of napkins and be warned do not put any salt on your popcorn, I didnt but it was so salty I couldnt eat it. And the butter is fake butter. The bathrooms are filthy and the soap dispensers are empty so they have a cheap bottle of hand soap on the counter. The floors in the theater are full of garbage. HERES THE KICKER..THE MOVIE WE WANTED TO GO TO THEY DIDNT HAVE IT. THREE BILLBOARDS. WE HEARD TWO DIFFERENT EXPLANATIONS. THE POWER WENT OUT WHEN THEY WERE DOWNLOADING IT AND THEY DIDNT HAVE THE CODE TO DOWNLOAD IT. I miss the old company that had it before. THEY LIED TO US. THE REAL REASON THEY DONT HAVE THE MOVIE "THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE OF EBBING MISSOURI" IS BECAUSE THE CAPITOL THEATRE HAS IT. THEY DIDNT WANT TO TELL US BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT AND WENT TO THE CAPITOL TO SEE THE MOVIE.

Overall similar to any mid size movie theatre I have ever been to. Is it expensive, yes, but it's been that way since 2002 so get over it. That blemish thing on one of the theatres screen though, does annoy the crap out of me. If you have obsessive personality that thing could take you out. But seriously decent movie theatre and nice staff. The problems complained about on here are by people that clearly have never left this town in their life

The theater is literally falling apart. I tried to go to a few movies, different weeks even, and everytime I went, they we're closed because the ceiling is falling in. AMC doesn't care about this small theater, and I doubt it will ever get fixed. Go to Watertown instead.

What a nightmare. Don’t bother buying tickets ahead of time, because you still have to wait in line for an hour to get them. No theatres marked. Filthy and poorly run. I made the mistake of buying my tickets online, showed up 10 minutes before show time thinking I could head right in, and ended up missing the movie because of this disaster of a place. Waste of money and so frustrating.

Seats are too small and sticky! The handrail in handicap stall in ladies room was also sticky! A lady complained about a black line across the screen...the guy blew her off. I spoke to the lady about it...she looked at the screen and fixed it right away! Most of the staff is GREAT! That's why the 3 stars! Major upgrades needed for more stars!

The good: The staff is always friendly and quick. And they help fix an issue any time there is one. Ticket prices can't be beat. Concession prices are high but what else do you expect from a theater. The bad: They need to update their seating to amphitheater style or at least get new reclining seats. The sound systems could use an upgrade but they're not bad at all. The ugly: The bathrooms always reek. They're clean, but they smell terrible usually. Overall it's not a bad theater, just needs some updates. It's worth the price. And if you like popcorn, get the popcorn refill bucket-totally worth it.

Let’s start off with the staff of the theater. The staff was ill-mannered and quite rude. From eyes rolling and mumbling under their breath, there also was minimum to no manners. Never once did I hear your welcome. I mostly just got head nodes or no reply at all. The theater was even more rambunctious when it came to severing people food. It took me 15 minutes to get an overpriced pop and popcorn when there was only 3 people in line. The theater I was placed in had a humid feeling with the smell of a barn and locker room transfused into one huge pungent odder that made me want to vomit and leave right then in there. Multiply time during the preview thee audio was off or the screen went black. Once the film started the screens “quality” really showed. The floor in the theater was sticky, like pop that spilled and was never cleaned up. Over all id have to say this theater, if you could call it that isn’t worth going to until the fix A LOT of the problems in there. I would also hire an entire new staff that worked hard but wasn’t so serious to the point of making the 50-year-old man in front of me show his ID. Until then id try and look for different less greedy theater.

Don't go expecting to use your hero's rewards tickets. They said they don't accept them any more. they need to get in touch with the United Blood Service and change the location as unavailable. The workers are always friendly. Some of the theatre's smell of bad body odor. Needs new carpet or something. The phone service is automated and does not give the option to talk to someone. Also, when you press "4" for box office, it just hangs up on you... This theatre needs some serious updating!

Dirty floors, old seats that are broken and uncomfortable, house lights don't get turned on in most of the theaters (once, they came on in the middle of a movie), the screens are stained in all the theaters, the sound is hit and miss, there's never more than 3 people working, and the bathroom is absolutely disgusting. Spend the extra money and go out of town if you want to thoroughly enjoy your movie experience.

So many things awful about this theatre. From the seats to the stale popcorn and random broken equipment, it's painful to have this be our only option in town to see new movies.

This is a very dirty movie theater. The service is very poor as well. I’m not sure how the theater selects what movies they will be playing, but they need to do better. Some of the most popular movies are either pushed through right away, or don’t make it to this theater at all. AMC bought the theater, and did the very bare minimum to keep it open. I hope we get something different in Aberdeen soon.

My son & husband went to movie, website said it started at one time when actually started 25 minutes before hand. When finally got a hold of the manager his response was the site wasn't updating due to weather??!!??!! It's said the same time since last week when we looked. Very unimpressed, not the first bad experience we have had. Will definitely be finding other theatres to go to!

Stood in line over 15 minutes for snacks, pretzel bites they advertise all over, after the purchase was told it's another delay for them as they had a "rush" that needs to come first. The rush must be all day because they were that busy over a hour ago, needs more staff. Not even a mention of a longer wait time for food. After waiting 45 minutes ended up missing the first portion of the movie as who plans for 45 minutes to get a snack at a movie theater. 1/5. Theater was dirty but decent chairs and screens.
