One of the last of the old time movie theaters from the 1930s and 40s renovated and kept intimate and comfortable if you get a chance go there to see a movie enjoy some popcorn and a good beverage or taken one of their concerts and see some really great artists in a very intimate setting movie theater and enjoy an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage I highly recommend this place truly a gem in the midst of York South Carolina easily accessible from North and South Carolina

I love our in-town theater! Concessions are inside the theater, so you don't miss the movie, restrooms are right outside the door, and the staff were friendly and funny! My wife and I love going there, and greatly prefer it over the big, multiscreen theaters.

Great historic theater for an event. It certainly doesn't have the modernization of the new "super" theaters but if you want a memorable theater experience with character and nostalgia, you can't beat it.

That Was A Cool Trick

It has character. It's a nice charming small theater to go and have fun. It's the only theater I know that has a bar area right above for when you wanna work on your phone during the film.

It's an old nostalgic theater. I loved it. The price was great, the seats were older but comfy, sound was good and fabulous service! They had all sorts of snacks, soda, beer and wine. Fun night

My family has been here a few times to see movies and said that it was a really cool.place to go and watch new releases. I hosted my daughters birthday party here and the kids had a blast. They danced and watched Secret Life of Pets 2, ate popcorn and cake. It was really a fun time. Renting the entire theater made my daughter feel super special and it was for a very reasonable price. We truly enjoyed it!

Great venue! The first time there, the owner took my wife and I on a tour to show us how things work. They have an awesome sound as well. No hassle seating too. I totally recommend the Sylvia theatre to anyone wanting a great music experience!
