I was excited when I first arrived to see that we were able to choose our own seats like Northwoods, but sitting at the top row was a horrible experience. The seats below us blocked the view of the screen. I had to sit up to try to enjoy the movie. I ended up sleeping. I have to go somewhere else to watch the movie again in full view.

I went to the Citadel Mall Stadium to see the 12:35 showing of The Nun. The check in for online ticket purchases didn't take more than a moment and the bloke who served us our popcorn (I'm not sure what his name was, but he wore glasses) was very swift in helping us (I was with a friend) and we ended up not missing much of the movie at all despite having arrived late. My friend and I were the only ones in the showroom for this particular movie at this particular time and I feel like that added greatly to how much fun we both had. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the chairs reclined. I'd never been to a theater like that before. The bathrooms were also very clean. A clean bathroom says a lot about your establishment in my opinion. Over all, I had a great time and enjoyed this location. I would return to see movies here again if the option presented itself.

This movie theater is a whole lot better than the ones in Mt. Pleasant they have great prices, movies and seats. Their popcorn is amazing with their butter on top. You guys should there. I loved the movie The Grinch and the movie The House With A Clock In Its Walls good movies Citadel Mall Stadium 16. Great Job and keep the good work up.

This is the dirtiest theater I’ve even seen. Seats were sticky, floors were nasty. The lobby is trashed. When we asked someone if there was anything to wipe our seat that were sticky, worker said get some toilet paper.

Theater was disgustingly dirty today for the 3:55 showing of Aladdin. They clearly didn’t clean between showings. There was spit in the cup holders and popcorn and trash everywhere. The floors near the concession stand were covered in popcorn and spilled soda and instead of cleaning it up, the staff just put “caution wet floor” signs around it. I asked to speak to the manager, before the previews even began for the movie. I showed him the photos of what our seat area looked like (seats were reserved in advance and theater was sold out so we could not just move) and his response was “I’ll send someone to clean it up right away as this is clearly not our standard.” However, no one ever came in to address it. The previews didn’t start until 4:05 even though it was sold as a 3:55 movie. We have been to this theater several times in the past and have never seen it this bad. When our movie let out, we saw staff members just standing around in the concession area, with no line, yet none of them seemed concern with cleaning up the spills or the mess. I gave them the opportunity to rectify the situation and they chose to not do anything about it. Very disappointing.

Nice to have good reclining seating. Lines at the concession are typically slow. Popcorn is hit or miss. Drinks and popcorn stations are normally a little messy. Bathrooms pretty clean and very large. Purchasing tickets online is easy. IMAX is ridiculously loud. Cheaper than Palmetto Grande, more expensive than Northwoods. If location weren't a factor I'd choose palmetto grand.

I was thrilled with my experience till all theaters went out. When they went out the manager would not answer his employees on the walkie talkies for 30min. When he finally came out he would give us no information and was hostile and rude. I finally got my refund after an hour. Absolutely terrible manager and he needs to find a new career if he treats paying guests this way.

The theater itself is fine. It's comfortable and not a bad place to see a film. The problem is the popcorn. I don't know where they order the popcorn from but it's awful. It is very dry and in small pieces. I'm probably not describing that very well but I've never had popcorn like this at any other movie theater. It just seems like it's low quality. The other major problem is their technology. The idea that there are no mobile electronic tickets in today's age is just ridiculous. I paid my purchase online then had to come inside the theater and stand in another line so I could pick up the ticket from the Automated machine. This seems unnecessary and archaic. Hopefully it will change this.

Theater sells tickets online and redeeming the tickets is fast and easy. Choose your seats beforehand and all theaters have reclining seats that are very comfortable. They do not accept tap-to-pay. The area is safe and this theater allows costumes on the opening nights of big movies.

The recliners are great, but have they been wiped down? My cup holder was full of wet and dried goo. The seats are pretty filthy. I was distracted by the filth. (Take something to sit on)

Smaller theater rooms and has a slightly smaller screen would be my only complaint but even then the quality and space was used effectively and it didn't feel like i was missing anything. Positives was that they have reclining seats, awesome staff and a great selection. Parking was easy since they have a larger lot and getting to the theater was fast. 9/10

Went here 08/19/18. We (husband and I ) weren't expecting it would be a lot nicer than a regular theater. We have seen a lot better than this one but still we're surprise that it's nicer than a regular regal or AMC cinemas. First you choose your seat before Getting inside so your seat is guaranteed. Second it is a reclining sofa!!! And third but not the least for the price it's really more than what you paid for. Clean and comfortable. Will visit again.

One word: IMAX! The IMAX screen is the largest movie theater screen in the low country. This Southeast Cinema location has IMAX and assigned power reclining seats. Unlimited refills on soda and ICEES. Great snack bar selections. Best movie selection, 12 theaters!

Well the theater is nice but the people who go there are horrible when going to see captin marvel I had not one but two crying babies an a host of toddlers who couldn't sit still or be quiet a couple that had to explain everything that happened in the movie so in short going back to pirating movies until they have adult only show times 21+ so after all that don't know if the movie was good or not 15 dollars wasted

Cheap prices for theater. Matinee runs tell 6pm for cheaper prices thats great. Popcorn and soda are the cheapest of all the theaters around. Reclining sets are great. The only reason for 4 stars is you have to pic your seats out before you go in. I myself like to see were I want to sit when I get in the theater.

Nice theater but can be a bit expensive if you dont see a matinee. They offer a variety of foods at the concession stand but can be extremely expensive. Not too strict on checking bags and staff is pretty nice. Bathrooms are normally clean as well. I sometimes arrive 30 minutes before my movie starts and there have been times when the theater has not been ready for occupancy. That can be a little annoying since I feel it should be ready by then but it is not a big issue . Overall, I really like this theater! They also sell alcohol.

Torn between a 3 & 4 star rating. Theater is great but not very clean. Cup holders all have gunk in them and there was butter everywhere. Inside the seats and outside the seats on the surface. Does anyone even clean this place up? If we weren't already forced to sit in the "assigned seats" that we chose we would have moved to different ones because ours were nasty. If you go make sure to bring a pack of wipes to clean up your seat before sitting. Just some friendly advice...

A good theatre. They used to have automated ticket machines but eliminated their usage. Now you have to go up to the counter to purchase. I also don't like the newish assigned seating. Maybe for really popular movies but on a regular basis it is a pain. Add having to go-to the counter to purchase combined with the assigned seating and it really takes away from the experience. You better be 20 minutes early for your movie just to get in on time.

I do not frequent this theater. It's just too far out of the way for me. However, I did recently go for a special early release screening. I like the layout of the theater's lobby. The associates are very friendly. And the theater's seats are phenomenal! They recline! The sound is great as well. The screens are free of dirt and grime and are also in good repair. The only real down fall is their popcorn. It's kind of bland and a little stale. I mean, they have plenty of flavoring options for he popcorn, but you can't really hide the taste of stale popcorn. Lol. Not the end of the world, but still something to consider. If I could have given them 4.5 stars I definitely would have. As popcorn isn't that serious of an offence. Lol. I definitely recommend checking them out!

Just pretty expensive at the snack bar, but hey, what theater doesn't have expensive snax? Well worth the visit, I saw Jurassic World with my family, and it was beautiful. Better than the Regal cinemas on Mall drive.

Only Imax in town- what a great experience- saw Aquaman!!!!, we see other movies too, good select-a-seat theatre. Great lower prices on snacks- better than other chains. Adjustable seats, good equipment. For late night-Theatre sits in parking lot behind and away from Citadel Mall-which is in decline. Be sure to lock your car.

I will never come back here again. Employees were extremely rude dealing with customers after each and every auditorium lost power. I understand that losing your projectors is stressful, but don't bad mouth customers when they have been standing around for nearly forty-five (45) minutes and start demanding refunds. The General Manager was also very unhelpful, as he walked away from everyone stating he didn't know what do to. It saddens me that Southwest Cinemas wouldn't have trained their employees to better hand situations like this. I'll be going to Regal next time.

Spacious, reclining seats and reserved seating makes for a comfy, relaxing movie night :) Concession prices are what you'd expect at basically every movie theatre - high, in a typical and expected way. I always enjoy the popcorn here and appreciate all the different flavored salt options they have (for free!) in the lobby. A large is definitely worth it, so you can get that free refill and enjoy nomming on that buttery, salty goodness.

The screen and movie I watched were both nice, however, the theater was very poorly kept. There was trash everywhere in the hallways and the bathroom was disgusting. Most of the theater seats/cup holders were slimy and greasy. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a while.

Very nice theater. Reclining chairs. A nice touch was being able to add your own butter and salt to your popcorn. Keep in mind that with reclining seats, seating is reserved. So buy tickets online ahead of time to ensure a good seat, getting there early is no longer the way to get seats.

I'm torn between a three and a four on this rating. Giving it a 4 because I genuinely think it's okay even though I never really prefer to come here. All of my friends love it because they have new leather reclining seats, but that's not an important feature to me. I find it difficult to get tickets in good spots since people grab them online in advance. I collect tickets from concerts, films, and just about anything they attend. Since they give you ticket stubs on receipt paper, they fade within a very short amount of time. For that reason I try not to go here and I prefer Regals where they still give you card stock. Other important things to me are cleanliness and the type of concessions they have. I always find the theater dirty. They also only have Pepsi products and food loaded with sugar or oil, so I never end up getting concessions here. Small detail, they also don't have a rewards program like Regal, so there's not a loyalty incentive.

The disrespect that the manager Dan showed today was absolutely uncalled for. YOUR internet crashed and nothing was done to accommodate those that were standing outside in the extremely hot sun for 20 mins. We all had to deal with Dan getting upset, yelling, and walking away from the window. When asked to speak with his manager because his behavior was unnecessary he said that he was the only manager and nothing was going to be done. In order speak with a member of corporate we needed to send an email.

During the internet outage yesterday, had some issues buying tickets and accidentally had my card charged several times for the purchase I was trying to make due to an "unknown error" on the website, it was quite frustrating. Was stressed out that it was about to be some kind of ordeal to fix the issue, but thankfully the manager on duty, William, was quick and super friendly in dealing with my problem. Always enjoyed coming to this theater because I love the facilities and the comfort of the theaters, but today I was really impressed with their staff and their customer service.

Please pay close attention to the seating map when selecting your reserved location. There was only one exit walkway and we picked seats against the far wall assuming there was a walkway against that wall, and there wasn't one. Once seated I was trapped when everyone eased back and extended there seats. It was miserable holding my need to relieve. Pay close attention to the seating chart exits if you have urgent needs.

First time going there. Pretty cool getting to pick where you sit, instead having to figure it out yourself. I'm not interested in going back. There was roach in the display case for the candy. By the way he was alive and crawling all over. The popcorn station was a disaster, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day. On our way to our movies, popcorn was all over the floor and seats. Thank goodness it was a good movie

The line was silly, it was like 15 min to show time and they only had one register open for both tickets and concessions that was way backed up. Also the movie would get hung up in places and you could here the skipping until it smoothed its self out. The seats were nice though.

I have been here a couple of times for events and graduations. The staff here are always friendly and helpful. They help you find exactly where you need to go. They often times will walk you to your seat, which is nice because the play is pretty big.

Let me begin by saying that I watch 1-2 movies a week out at a cinema with one of those being at this theater. That being said... here's my breakdown: Pricing- one word: matinees! Great way to catch a flick at a decent price, though their pricing otherwise isn't terrible compared to other cities I've visited. Rewards- the rewards program is nice with a free ticket every 100 points earned (aka dollars spent). Make sure to grab a little red card when you visit! Set Up- I love that they have put the refill fountain accessible to the customers so you can pop out of the theater, grab your refill & return without missing much of the movie. Would love to see new options offered for concessions, but I'm not certain that is doable. The lack of diversity at the snack bar is made up for by the addition of reserved seating with reclining seats, which is (imo) fantastic! Climate- they do tend to be more reserved on their climate control allowing the theater to remain too hot or cold and it takes a while to cool or heat up to accommodate comfortably, especially for sold out showings. Maintenance- The IMAX is one of the best places to watch a movie in town based on sound and format of picture. But, they again don't maintain this quite as well as say a theater in a larger city might. Cases in point, the last two movies I saw there: How to Train Your Dragon 3- the screen projector was off, out of focus. I questioned if it were supposed to be in 3-D as it was that noticable, especially the lettering. Captain Marvel- there are many dark scenes where you couldn't tell what was going on because the projector bulbs weren't turned up enough. As an avid moviegoer I know what some of those dark scenes should look like due to previews with levels of blackness and dark colors, so you can imagine the disappointment when this can't be seen for a movie you're paying for. Staff- There is a nice selection of movies available for viewing and the staff handle crowds fairly well. Though, for opening weekends it can get a bit hectic, especially if you want concessions. I'm not sure about management, but it doesn't appear that the majority of the staff enjoy being there. The other theater we frequent employees individuals with great attitudes; sure everyone has a bad day but its typical to try to leave that at home and not burden others with personal issues. Cleanliness- sometimes it's a hit or miss. I've been in showings where it was immaculate. Now, I wouldn't say that it ever smells particularly "clean," but at least looks tidy. I have been on several showings though where it was obvious that there were kids who were allowed to dump handfuls of popcorn all over without parents who could/would curbing the situation. Meeting Room- on the topic of children, there's even a room if you want to have a special event (say, a child's birthday party) there so that you can have food, party and then go catch a flick! All in all the location and pricing along with the seating outweighs the former issues. However, it does become bothersome when the movie that is being watched is impacted due to lack of up keep. 1st time back in a while! Came to see Avengers Endgame! The facility is nice and was well kept, even on a busy day! Clean and staff stayed busy but maintained good service with smiles!

I loved the addition of the reclining premium seats!!! Though the addition loses a LOT of its luster when you have to wade through popcorn and trash on the floor in the lobby to get to your theater. I am not sure if it is the lack of care from the patrons or if the volume of patrons make it difficult for the staff at this location to keep up with the housekeeping but it seemed very out of balance and chaotic.

For the pure fact that the seats are awesome, I'm happy! They recline! The place was as clean as to be expected. The staff was courteous, with a great concept of service. I purchased the ticket online, ahead of time. Even with the internet down due to the passed storm, things turned out smoothly. Toy Story 4 is what we saw. The seats... I want one.

Management is seriously lacking here. Drove 40 minutes for an IMAX movie on an opening night for the movie. The concession stand had only two people working, and the lines ridiculously long. Waited 20 minutes to purchase a drink. Found our seats, few minutes later group of 4 came in to tell us we we’re sitting in our seats. Come to find out they double booked our seats. Few minutes later two more people with the same problem, and then two more in the same row we learned after the showing. We missed the first few minutes of the movie due to waiting on a manager that took 4 times to contact. We were told their system online double books seats sometimes, and was a pre-existing problem they thought was resolved. We had to find seats at the top row, which you cannot see the bottom of the screen due to the chairs and people’s heads. Manager gladly provided us with vouchers for a free movie, not sure we’ll be back. Seriously lack of management, and feel like I should be receiving a complete refund as well since your pre-existing problem doesn’t seem to be such a large deal to them. Recliners are extremely nice in the IMAX experience, wish I could have take that home rather than my ticket voucher.

I really love this theatre. Modern but decorated in an attractive art deco theme. Large stadium style seating with amazing full recline, padded, lazy boy style seats! Great movie experience!

The seats B1 & B2 in theater 8 were broken and got stuck in one position and very uncomfortable. HAD to get up and move due to back and neck pain. Still my favorite theatres!

Prices, b+, visiting Charleston, but most theaters I go to are around $15 to $20 dollars per ticket. I paid $12 for IMAX Customer service, c+ , we're customers, not dudes, also having a police officer check your tickets instead of an employees is odd. I support our law enforcement, but checking tickets? Maybe this was due to a violent incident that took place recently in North Charleston. Cleanliness, b- , visited on a Saturday evening and it was pretty busy. IMAX experience, b- , screen could use some cleaning and the speaker boxes were vibrating a little too much. Price makes up for those issues.

Inside this place is one of the nicest theaters in the area. The seats recline and you can actually lay completely flat as if you were laying down in bed! The seats are comfy and the theater is not too crowded! I only wish they were a Regal Theater! Their ticket prices are very reasonable. A little far away if you are coming from Daniel Island or Mount Pleasant. Not sure if they have lighting outside as the parking lot was completely black when I was leaving and walking to my vehicle.

Nice friendly clean place. The remodel was needed and is amazing. Love sitting in the electric recliners. It feels so good you may fall asleep. The drinks, condiments, slushie machines being on the outside was a smart idea.

Attended 3/15/2016 matinee and saw Green Book. $ 3 for 4 persons. Movie was great, enjoyed the powered electric seats with intergrated leg rests. Most comfortable theater see.sts, ever. This theater was our regular choice to see action movies on an IMAX screen. We ordered tickets from South East Cinemas via the theater’s site on May 22 for the opening weekend of Godzilla (June 2). 5 tickets on a center row for us and friends. No need to rush to stand in line for tickets because our seats were assigned. Cool. Printed tickets easily inside. Cool. Still got there almost a half hour early only to find others in our seats. The manager, Brian, said it didn’t matter that the seats were sold to multiple people after we paid for them. “First butt in the seat gets it”. But he’d “make it right”. That meant he’d give us a refund and a “we won’t be showing it on the IMAX screen next weekend”. No vouchers. No apology for what THEY did -NOT FANDANGO. Another couple got booted out of their seats and they’d made a long drive to see it in IMAX. As I stood there, yet another person came up saying they had people in their seats. A lady told me it’s happened to her 3 times. Why pay an advanced ticket fee to prepay for assigned seating if they don’t honor the ticket? Brian was snide and condescending. They’ve lost our business. Movie watchers BEWARE.

Pros: good seats Cons: Rude staff Close concessions during a movie not even 15 min in... you must not like income. Couldn't even buy a drink talk about an annoying experience when your thirsty during a 2hr movie. The place is a mess.... guys you pay them to work. Maybe someone should clean... just saying it's only Thursday. I could only imagine the weekends how gross it probably is. Step it up guys.
