We always enjoy ourselves at AmStar. Prices could be cheaper, but we understand that they are there to make money. We are Reel Rewards members, and it's totally worth it... As a family of 3, lasy night we bought a combo that was a medium popcorn and 2 medium drinks that were all up-sized to larges for free. The small drink we also purchased was up-sized to medium. And there's other perks as well like freebies from time to time. The arcade could be better for those who arrive early, but it's enough. My only real gripe is that this place can only cook ONE order of chicken tenders and fries at a time. My family has to arrive 30+ minutes early if we all want that. All in all, I do recommend this theater, but urge them to upgrade the fry station asap.

Love this place. Of course the food and drinks are expensive. That's the norm at theaters. Last week we went, and by a mistake made on my husband's part we ended up having tickets for a show that had been playing 15 minutes already instead of the 1 that started 15 minutes later. He explained to the ticket taker how the mistake came about and the guy let us in the later showing. I think that any time you work with the public you realize that mistakes can happen to anyone. I think someone with good customer service will take that mistake and figure a way to make it work. It wasn't a big problem, but the guy handled it so well. They also keep it nice and clean. This one is our personal favorite to go to anytime we plan to see a movie.

The best theater in the upstate. Better even than IMAX in Simpsonville. I remember first watching Gladiator either 2000 when they opened and was blown away by the immersion of sound. They have kept up with technology over the years and their digital projectors and speakers are still top of the line.

There were some negative reviews about curfew here. I havent encountered that yet but it is frustrating. I also found out that there is a two beer maximum rule. Other than these nuances, we really enjoy going go this theater. One of our favorite things is the flashback cinema playing classic films on Wed and Sunday. I do look forward to reclining seats and reserved seating one day. Prices are 8.25 matinee and that is comparable and reasonable. I have special needs children and it seems they employee some and I always am patient and conscience to remember these are children learning how to handle the public in the workforce and some with disabilities. Please I urge the public to remember this when interacting with the workers. Be kind. They offer beer and wine. Typical theater food. Would love to see funnel cake fries. Game room area. Nice refillable soda. Close to a lot of restaurants.

Consistently disappointed with the AmStar Rewards Card /corporate policy & experience here. - Got the $10 rewards card last year to try it out and forgot why it wasn't a good value vs the free rewards program at Regal Cinema. You get a free one time use small popcorn and small drink with the card purchase (that you can't upgrade) & free one size upgrades on drinks & $1.00 off popcorn... That's it. (At Regal, you get 1/2 price popcorn & discounted tickets on Tuesdays, with frequent free discounts, tickets, concession upgrades, etc) - Corporate decided to remove the option to purchase a small popcorn AT ALL. I guess getting a $1 off a small was too painful so you're forced to upsize to a medium even if you don't want it now. + Biggest plus for this theater is the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that allows you to get any drink/refill yourself without waiting in line during your movie. Won't be renewing their rewards program again. * As a bonus, we have been frequently disturbed during late night mid week movies at this location (my days off) by young parents that choose to bring they're screaming toddlers into R rated movies after 9-10 pm on school nights.

The little ones got a bit scared while watching Aquaman only about ten minutes in... we spent well over $200 that night taking all of my nieces nephews my sister and brother in law and my daughters best friend. So i was a bit crushed at only 10 minutes into Jason Momoa kicking butt I've got two crying 8 year olds. Staff was amazing and let us take them into The Lego Movie 3D for free and everyone else got to finish the movie. It is painful that it costs a car payment just to have a family night at the movies which is the reason for the low rating and also why it has become a once ever few years thing. The internet is going to very rapidly kill movie theaters. It makes me sad!

I will always give every movie theater a 4 star due to pricing. It's outrageous, these days in time. It literally cost me $60 to see a movie with my girls. It really isn't worth it. But time with my daughters is priceless ❤️. Other than pricing of tickets and snacks, it's exciting and a wonderful family outing!

Like being able to fill my own drink! Dislike not having enough cashoers working so that we can get into our movie on time. Sometimes I see cashiers standing around while we are in a long line. Management needs to pay more attention to the concessions workers!

Online ticket options help bypass lines, great stadium seating with handicap availability and very clean facility overall. Sound and visual qualities are amazing. We have used this theater many times and plan on continuing for future cinematic experiences!

Ohhhh where to start? The lady at the concession stand was very rude and unpersonable. If I had a name, I’d post it in hopes that you could go through training again. They were out of pretzels, the popcorn was hard, and when we asked for butter halfway in the popcorn and on top we got attitude even though there was nobody else in line. We then had to go pour the butter in ourselves and bring it back to get filled the rest of the way. The only reasons this isn’t a one star review are because of the lights on the ceiling when you walk in and the seats were relatively comfortable even though they were outdated. It seemed relatively clean as well. I’ve been to many Regal cinemas and this is by far the worst I’ve been to with my family. I will make the trek to Greenville next time. Nick W.

Other than the kids that serve the food and drinks that have attitudes with me every single time I go like they think they're better than me when they're serving popcorn for 8$ an hr, it's a nice place to go to watch movies. Would rather wait until they came out on TV or DVD so I could watch in my home. Most of the time if you go right after a movie gets released there's a ton of people in there that don't know how to be quiet or put their phones on silent. Don't even try to go enjoy a horror movie until like the second week it's out. The seats kinda suck and people kick the back of them the whole time on "accident". Guess alot of the problems are inevitable in most theaters.

Just recently started taking my little ones to the big screen movies. We love it but $5 for a bottle of water is more than outrageous. O understand the whole idea of upselling, but let's be reasonable! So, if we can bring our own snacks/drinks it's an awesome thing to do with the fam:)

A quaint little theater that lives up to it's location, AmStar Anderson is clean, fairly well-kept with friendly (and helpful!) staff. It's priced accordingly and I highly recommend matinee's when at all possible for anyone who is leery of crowds. This theater can get crowded on a Friday night. ;)

Had an awful experience . Such rude employees wouldn’t let me and my friend in to the IT movie which we were so excited for. Everyone was rude but especially the short red head child working the ticket booth. I will never go back and would NEVER recommend this awful cinema. I would give this cinema 0 stars but unfortunately that’s not an option.

The pricing is what you would expect from a movie theatre. Very clean, friendly, fast staff. I recommend getting the reel rewards. The free upgrades are worth it alone. When I upgrade to a large drink or popcorn I only pay the price of medium. Plus, if you're a movie enthusiast like me, your rewards add up quick. You also get a $5 birthday bonus plus a free small popcorn and drink when you sign up. Well worth it.

Make sure you're prepared to give up an arm and a leg for some popcorn and drinks. Or better yet, take your family out to a steak dinner beforehand and you'll still get off cheaper than treating them to a bag of popcorn and a coke. But I guess that's anywhere right? I will say that they're clean and the most popular theatre in Anderson.

We have a couple of courtesy passes to use. Everytime we try to use them the specific rules say we cant. We went to see Captain Marvel on the tenth day, but it has to be after a movie has been out 10 days. We purchased popcorn and drinks. It was a matinee at 10:30. I'll either trash them or try again on the 6th Thursday of the month.

This movie theater is very exciting and the entire atmosphere is comfortable. This is a very clean theater and offers military discounts. The only drawback was that there is only one restroom at the front of the theater. Though there is 1 for the gentlemen and 1 for the ladies they were very clean and well stocked.
