This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Older building but still good place to see movie like Peter Rabbit
Old time favorite place, but 30 full minutes of previews!!! Sheese louises
Very thankful for lower prices. Everyone isn't wealthy.
Loved the $5.00 Tuesdays for taking a bunch of teens to see Bohemian Rhapsody.
Was great value but refreshmenst so high
Great service an movie
Great experience
The staff is nice and it's very lowkey. The prices are
Enjoy movies every Christmas Holiday with my Grands.
Movies at a great price
The seats are comfortable and larger. While the bathrooms are subpar and it is not stadium seating. We prefer this place over others as it is generally not busy. If it is a movie that has to be seen in theatres, then this would not be the place compared to Carolina Pavillion.
Used to love going there. Now that AMC has bought it out and they have begun 1st run movies and the prices have about tripled, we won't be going anymore. So much for an affordable family night out.
Freezing more-so than any other theater and the lights were on til after a movie started and we had to ask them to be turned down. However newer seats than before was a little more comfortable
Great price for movies! Concessions are a little pricy but that is the same at just about all movie theaters. Staff were very kind.
An affordable way to go to the movies with your family
I had a good evening .a d price was right
Better than Manchester 14 in price and seating is the same quality too. Never paying 13 MF dollars to watch a movie there again.
this place is dopeeeeee...fr if you don't come here then you're making a mistake like whatareyoudoing. clean theaters, great food, and AMC amazing service. plus this place is wayyyyyy cheaper than regal for the same quality of entertainment and better service.
Bring your own snacks and show up at least 25 minutes after posted show time or watch commercials. And don't have high expectations.
Nice place for the kids we had a good time
Fair experience for a fair price for ticket. Popcorn/snacks on the other hand I could have imported from anywhere for that price but there all like that now a days.
Extremely dirty but very affordable. I still feel cheap doesn't have to mean unclean especially with staff internet surfing. The restroom at least should have been cleaned.
Went here while on a family vacation to see Bumblebee. Hands down the worst movie theater I have ever been too. Floor/doors/bathroom/chairs all were dirty and sticky. I do like that they are trying to have an old school style of movie theater. The staff was friendly and nice (I felt bad that they had to deal with dirt too). Movie was actually good. However, none of those factors replaced how dirty the place looked.
Movie area was nice. Vendor server was 15 yrs old, thought that was inappropriate -difficult to understand the meal deals. Wondered how he would handle an emergency (choking, shooter, fight, etc). Someone was lurking around the theater we were in -I had 3 young girls. No one else was in the theater, made the girls nervous. He kept standing in the doorway, sitting, then standing. Clean female restroom. Several discounts were available.
I love the place! You have good movies, great time with family or a friend , good popcorn and huge drink! You not being ripped off by the prices. Two people can go enjoy a movie with two large drinks and huge bag of popcorn for 13.00. What more do you want.
A group of my friends went to the theater to see detective Pikachu ( and this was my first time going to a movie theater in quite a few years so I was nervous about it at first since the last on I went to was in horrible conditions). When I got there I was pleasantly surprised! While the theater is older then some, I found that it only added to the deal. It was a smaller theater, and I found that to be very nice as someone who hates beinging in very large crowds. It was extremely clean and the prices were cheap! 10 out of 10 would go to this movie theater again!
Great experience!
It's ok. Definitely not worth the $30 it costs for 2 movie tickets, one large popcorn and a drink since AMC bought them. I won't be coming here again with Manchester Cinema so close.
I love it the prices for drinks and candy and food are expensive and not worth it. I go all the time and got the annual popcorn bucket. It's like 5.00 a refi every time I go with a one time fee for the reusable bucket. A must buy if your a movie freak like me lol. Comfortable seats. Very good place to go. Just expect to spend lots of money on foods and drinks
It's just a old school thearth,I love it .Geat G service, seats I agree not the best but worth the price you pay to see a movie that would cost more for It's nice to go to a movie and didn't cost you as much as my first car lol
Ticket prices are cheap, but bathrooms are a joke and there have been several times where the display equipment had technical difficulties.
A place that has been around for awhile. Good place to go watch movies.
Took my 7 year old and she had a blast
Cheap and new movies, usually pretty clean. Fun for the whole family.
Very reasonable prices would love it if the seats was upgraded but Ferry courteous customer service thank you
I’ve never seen a movie theatre this small, it’s so cute. I love the cheap prices and the food wasn’t too expensive. We had a good time, we were fortunate enough not to have to take a trip to the bathrooms here, as I was worried about that due to all of the negative reviews about the nasty bathrooms.
Not that modern, but quite nice.
Smaller and cheaper if you're on a budget.
Update this place. Keep up with the times. I love AMC . Doesn't have to be fancy just need new seats and rugs. Bathrooms are very outdated too.
This is my favorite theater to go to. Cant beat the prices.
Not up to date, but nice little in the cut spot. Not busy at all and the new movie we saw wasn't sold out..everything between 8 and 10 was already sold out in Charlotte.
The reason for this mediocre review is that they had 10 min of commercials after starting time then FINALLY showed the previews. So the movie didn’t start until 30 min after showtime. Also they closed the curtains a little over the screen. Lame. Last tearing the trailers the kept bright lights on the screen too. Poor management.
It's a first run movie theater and you Can't beat the very affordable matinee!!
Staff excellent
Needs a good cleaning.
AMC screwed this one up! Now Rock Hill doesn't have a 2nd run cheaper movie theatre. Manchester will unfortunately get my money if we ever decide to go to the movies anymore..with the rise of streaming media and home theatre systems this run down dinosaur was only on life support because of its cheaper price. NOT ANYMORE it's dead now...
I heard it was a dollar show should go back to that...
Very clean and comfortable
As a long-time customer of this theater when it was the Carmike 7, we're very disappointed in the changes made since AMC purchased it. The biggest change made is in the movies that are offered, and that change has NOT been a positive. They are now showing the same movies offered at every other theater in town. The best part of this theater has always been that it offered variety and choices from other theaters. Now we have no choices. Beyond that, AMC has done little-to-nothing to improve the theater or its grounds (parking lot is in terrible condition) ... concessions are expensive, ticket prices have gone up. Any benefit to going to this theater is now non-existent. I would have expected more thought into how AMC could have created a better experience for the theater's customers and the community in general. I don't care about the cost of the movies, so if my choices have been taken away, I might as well go to a nicer theater, even if it costs a bit more. As for concessions .... those prices are outrageous everywhere .... we take care of that by treating ourselves to dinner either before or after the movie (I can actually go out for a full dinner on what I don't spend for popcorn, candy or sodas at the theater. How ridiculous is that?!) :-(
Nice theatre, nothing fancy, and the tickets are more than reasonably priced.
If you are looking for stadium seating, recliners, or a new modern movie theater then stay away from here and don’t submit a review! If you want to see a movie at a reasonable price, on the big screen, with surround sound then this is your place. This is a old school, no frills theater with very affordable pricing and current movies. Really thrilled that AMC changed the format, Carmike only showed movies about to go to DVD. People say the popcorn is not fresh but that is not true because they pop it in the back instead of at the very small concessions stand. My family enjoys going here and we don’t have to take out a 2nd mortgage to see a movie! I hope you and your family enjoy it too.
Hubby and I went on afternoon date. The theater was in severe need of an update. I asked for water and had to use the germy water fountain. After a cupful I was told I could have gotten it from the soda machine. Or, pay like 3 or 4 bucks. The attendant was nice. We walked out during the movie due to the content. Probably my last time going to the movies.
Needs upgrades needs upgrades bad the price not bad
It's what you'd expect from a former dollar theater. It's nice to see a movie on the big screen without paying an arm and a leg. Instead, you pay that for concessions.
This the worst movie I ever went to it’s super outdated and terrible
This is a local gem, and a landmark for sure! Grew up going here for their $1-2 movies as a child and they still offer lower pricing than most any other location. Rarely busy, yet that comes with it's own set of issues... Popcorn can be old-ish, but I've never had what I would call day old popcorn, or anything that bad. They also boast a Coca Cola flavoring machine and 4K screens. There will only be 7 movies available as this is a smaller Cinema. Thank you as always!
Daniel, the "manager", just sort of wanders around the lobby while there are 15 people in line for refreshments and one young lady trying to help everyone! To make it even worse he has another employee with him wandering around trying to avoid going behind the counter and helping the young lady!! Business is pretty slim at this theater and I'm wondering if their lack of customer service is part of the problem. The building itself is old and lackluster, nothing like Manchester, but once they turn the lights down and the movie comes on it's all the same. They are at least showing more current movies now and the price is half of what you have to pay at Manchester. I will continue to patronize Cinema 7, but I may bring my own popcorn and coke next time!!!
The prices were very reasonable. The concession stand prices were good. The movie theater was clean. The seats were comfortable and I also liked the color of them. The acqustics sounds were loud but not overbearing. I have a friend of mine who is somewhat deaf in one ear. She actually heard the movie. Parking was very good. I didn't get to use the restrooms though. Over all, I will go back again and I would recommend this movie theater.
Forget about “the purge”, welcome to “the cleanse”. Everyone in my family is suffering from either explosive diarrhea or projectile vomiting. DO NOT EAT THE POPCORN (or should I say poopcorn)!! I’ve already been to the bathroom three times within a period of 15 minutes and GIRL let me tell you, the wall paper was crying it’s way off the walls. :/ The place was GROSS and sketchy! First of all, the bathrooms are disgusting! The stalls were falling apart and the cracks in them were huge. Anybody could see inside. HECK NAH! Next, the staff wasn’t helpful at all. Everyone looked like they hated their jobs. Apparently the place didn’t have any giant buckets of popcorn left, so that stunk (like the bathroom). Finally, the seats were uncomfortable and nasty. Poopcorn was everywhere! This place has to be violating some form of the South Carolina health code and it NEEDS to be CONDEMNED!! Save your family while you still have the chance to avoid THE CLEANSE. My heart goes out to all of the people who have had a similar experience. Bless their hearts!
I could overlook the unkempt, unlined, and unpatched parking lot, the dirty screens, and the dated look and feel of this place when it was a second-run/cheap theater. Now that they're playing new movies at full price, it really needs to be updated, including a better sound system. The cheerful and helpful staff are the only thing keeping this from being 1 star.
A good value for the money. First run movies as exciting as in any other theater. Old building but usually clean and everything is being kept in reasonably good condition. Come at least 20 minuets after posted movie times. Too many commercials and coming attractions. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Concession stand is not very busy most of the times. Popcorn has in the past been over salted but recently it has gotten much better. A terrific place to see a good movie at a reasonable price.
Staff was pretty good, theater was just ok. There were water damaged and missing tiles above us. The bathrooms need to be redone. No stadium seating. When the theater was a dollar theater it was worth it but the prices have went up. I’d pay the extra and go to a more modern theater.
Classic feel. Clean, friendly and great prices for tickets and snacks.
This place shows CURRENT movies now. And at REASONABLE rates. Thank you! I can finally feel good about going to the movies again without feeling ripped off.
They call it a classic theater because it's one of the older neighborhood theaters. It doesn't have stadium seating, nor does it have many screens, but it does show films that are in theaters now. The ticket prices are about half of what you pay for the stadiums with stadium seating. It is an older theater that has been somewhat renovated, but it still shows its age. If you don't mind being in an "older" theater you can catch a current movie and save a bit of money in the process.
Great customer service!
Why is this place so filthy? The last few visits are the reason I'm asking. Every toilet in the women's restroom was backed up or out of toilet paper and no paper towels! It has really went down hill fast! Used to be a great economicly sound place to watch movies and buy snacks. Even the popcorn is cold and crumbly. What gives?!
It’s an old theater, but the value is still there - especially for the matinee prices. It was a ridiculously good deal when you were getting 2nd run movies - and it’s still a good deal with the first run movies now being featured. It’s 2019, not 1998 - “dollar movies” are found in the Redbox.
Great prices in an old fashioned style theater. The bathrooms a bit outdated. The staff were friendly. All in all a very nice experience.
Who says time machines don't exist? You walk in and you are transported back to a simpler time. A time before doors were an option on the stalls of bathroom. A time before making fresh popcorn was required. A time before carpets being cleaned was necessary. A time when previews didn't exist, just silence in a creepy theater with a black screen. Hopefully with AMC now owning the theater they can shut down the time machine, and bring the experience to the 21st century.
Very pleasant. Staff was friendly. No stadium seating. Seating was comfortable. Theaters were clean and were handicap accessible.
Staff seemed nice, comfy seats despite them being old, good prices, dirty bathrooms, and very very very dusty theater. It gave me and my husband a bad head ache.
This is a great movie theater to go to
Very good
Great service, cleaner then it use to be.
Fun time. The reclining chairs are very nice and the theater was very clean as well as their bathrooms. The popcorn was a little stale tasting which sucks when you spend 10 on it but other then that we had a very good time and enjoyed our visit here.
Had a great time here while evacuated from the beach for hurricane Florence! Kids working were AWESOME and very friendly!
If you pay $4.99 for a first run movie, you shouldn't have high expectations. Theater was clean, bathrooms were clean, staff was efficient, sound was really good and movie was good. Now be advised that the popcorn and soda prices aren't discounted as the soda and popcorn combo was still $15 but I'd return.
Cheap tickets. Old school vibe like the theater I grew up seeing movies in. Could use a good coat of paint inside and a good cleaning of chairs and rugs.
& I Like Free Movies
Had a good night.. employee's were friendly and helpful. Place was clean and love the self serve drinks and butter pumps...
Great prices and now they show current features.
Great movie with my son!
Since AMC took over the old Carmike theater, prices went threw the roof. It's still the same old place with the same old seats but plan on spending 10 bucks for a small popcorn and 5 bucks on a soda. Ticket prices were also raised and is no longer affordable for a night out with the kids. If you're going to spend that kind of money...go to another updated theater. You probably won't spend much more money and you will certainly get a more comfortable seat. And if by chance you brave it out like my family did, just hope you don't have to watch a movie in theater 4. You will hear popcorn popping in the background as well as someone banging dishes around. Quite entertaining when you're trying to watch a movie.
Can't beat the price.
This place is cool the vibes are very vibey and lowkey dope. The workers there are so chill and I munch their popcorn forreal.
Love the value, great customer service, and convenient location. I would definitely give you guys 5 stars if some deep cleaning/steam cleaning/ power washing was done to the chairs and floors. Perhaps a switch to something not cloth.
I love this old styled cinema. The only suggestion I have is figure out how to label the movies to the cinemas inside and your environmental control needs work. It is either too hot or too cold and had nothing to do with the outside weather. Personally, I think this is a gold mine and needs better marketing and process around the concession stand. You are missing out on revenue.
Wow!! They need to upgrade seating, adjust sound, upgrade snack bar and turn off that damn foyer light when the movie starts. I will definitely go to south blvd location next time. This one is trash
Took my daughter to a movie yesterday. A woman and her child (or grandchild?) were in front of us in line to purchase a ticket. Once inside, the woman and the boy stood at the back of the facility, near the arcade games, while looking at the concession board. My daughter and I stood in line for concessions and once the 2 groups ahead of us finished, we walked up to the counter only for this woman and her boy to step in front of us. Being that I'm trying to teach my toddler etiquette and manners, and that we do not "jump" in line in front of people, I told the woman "So, you're breaking in line?" She said "I bought my ticket before you." I said "That has nothing to do with it, you stood back there, NOT in line, and just stepped up when you felt it was your turn, instead of standing in line like the rest of us?" The manager opened the concession stand on the other side and shuffled me and my daughter over there. So not only did the woman get the jump in line, WE had to walk around the stand to place an order- when SHE was the one in the wrong! The manager muttered under his breath "JESUS CHRIST" as he was taking my order. I told him "She completely jumped in front of us." and he said "She was taking her time reviewing the board, yes." So he admitted she was wrong yet WE had to move out of our way for HER bad behavior? I appreciate his willingness to "help" but I am completely flabbergasted over the fact this type of rude behavior on the behalf of patrons is not only allowed but condoned? What message does that send to that woman's child, and mine? That it's okay for people to just do whatever they want, regardless? She not only jumped ahead of us, but ahead of the group that amassed behind us. And for him to say "JESUS CHRIST" in a flustered manner, as if I did something wrong was just ridiculous. I don't care how cheap the theater is, WE will not be returning. THAT type of behavior wouldn't be allowed at Manchester. What's happened to people with etiquette these days?
This is a low cost theater - not fancy, just your basic movie place.
This is my favorite movie theater not because its high tech, but its cheap. You can see a movie with the family without feeling like you need to take out a second mortgage. Sometimes there are not enough people working the ticket/food so you may have to wait in line a bit.
It's nice that its has the classic thing but its just too old for us...kinda like a one and done, theres just not enought technology and food options. .hope this helps.
When it was Carmike, you had really good prices, food combos that were affordable, and got a discount movie experience. Now that AMC has it, $4.69/bottle water, no true concession specials, and for the environment you might as well pay the few dollars extra and just go to Regal. Not sure I'll be back. Definitely run down place for the new prices. Very disappointed!
I always have a great experience here.
Horrible. An associate converted 30,000 of points into rewards. She did this without my permission. Management was unable to correct the error. What a let down. Please train your associates.
Seems like they are trying to clean this theatre up a bit which is good. The people are friendly and the prices are better than the big theatre in town. New movies at a cheaper price...why not?
Great movie and clean space
Great value for movies...sound is louder than most which I consider a plus.
It would seem that some improvements have been made here. It is not the rundown place it had become. It would be nice to have a surround sound theater, but with that comes the price of higher admission.
Good deals here.
Great popcorn, prices are up and cleanliness is down
Now that they are part of AMC movies are a bit more expensive but still not as bad as the other places. Concessions are good but I don't see why they can't just popped popcorn fresh, instead of making it ahead of time and storing it in big bags. The restrooms could stand a bit of remodeling. Also they need to go back to selling tickets at the box office. If I'm not buying a concession, why should I be waiting behind people who are?
The movie was great. Concession staff was rude and did not care that soda machines weren't working.
A great family place to go
Definitely a classic. Nothing has been updated since the 80's. No carpet on the floors of the theater, roof leaks, missing ceiling tiles, surround sound doesn't work probably because the speakers are visibly damaged, tiles falling off the walls in the bathroom, bathroom door hasn't been cleaned since the 80's. Not worth saving the money going to a standard theater.
Always a great deal here! Movies are much more affordable and less crowded. Rock Hill's best kept secret.
Great place to see movies without breaking the bank! We love the cherry icees
Older movie facility but very comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and it costs half of what I would have paid at Manchester.
Old style movie theater, good deal on Sunday morning. Clean theater.
They really screwed up by trying to become like bigger chain movie theaters. Really lost the biggest reason most people came to this theater in the first place. If I wanna pay those exorbitant prices for new releases I'll drive the extra two miles to Manchester cinemas like pretty much everyone else. Being a cheaper alternative was the only reason this theater had customers and the only reason they still have a few is people don't know the prices have changed yet.
Classic theater with retro seats!
Most reasonably priced movie theater around. It does show its age. Enjoy the special on the popcorn bucket.
Saw Black Panther, finally. Used the hearing assist and it worked well. Prices were not that bad considering that this is now a first run type theater. A shame that Travis is no longer the manager though. All in all, not bad.
Great for catching those movies that you missed at the "big" theater. Prices are cheaper.
Enjoyed movie when it finally started. They raised the price and have not remodeled any part... no new seats but raised the price really. But they show new movies.
Not even the cheap prices make this place worth it! No fountain drinks, no lids for the cups they give you for water. Popcorn is not made fresh. They bring out large bags of pre-cooked popcorn from the back. Floors are sticky and bathrooms should be permanently closed. At least when this was Carmike toy knew what to expect. Is this the future of AMC? Time to start going to Regal again.
So much better since they updated and now have new movies. And it is really cheap compared to the other ones. Love going here. Usually $20 and it's a great date night
Not a bad cheap theater, but they need to be more aware of the volume levels of individual movies. I have a massive headache after seeing venom tonight. Fix it please.
Lots of construction around the place. A bit dated.
Needs renovating. I feel like im back in the 90s
The theater is small and in the cut. They could use a lil update but it achieved the goal of a good movie watching experience. The people in the front were super nice and very helpful to me and my movie companion. If you want to go to the movies and not have to worry about a lot of people or if u will have a seat then go here.
Nicest staff
I like this low-cost cinema. It's a bit old-fashioned, but it does the job. Movies tend to be second run, but that is okay by me given the low cost. Plenty of parking. A bit hidden (it's quite near the Publix).
Bit pricey but love coming here regardless
Great little classic theatre.... Floors and carpets could be cleaner but excellent staff who were nice and personable and great sound...sometimes it's not loud enough but this place was great!
Nice place and great price
Cheap tickets but dirty theatre.
Low-key older movie theater. Combined a AMC coupon and 2 tickets for maximum value. Can see a movie weekly this way and not blow summer budget.
Cheap movies!
The price is great! It might be old, but it's decent. Police patrol is a plus. Good service. The bathrooms could use remodeling and locks on the doors. Otherwise good family theater!
All around good value.
The popcorn can be better but it was great.
Prices are great for movies with the family. They show new releases. The facilities could use a facelift, but the conditions aren't so bad that it would deter me from going again.
The popcorn was awful. Made my sister and me sick. Was probably old and definitely oversalted. Oh the horrors. Now I don’t like salt. Way to go. Never going back.
Me and my family were wanted to go see dora. We went online to check when it starts and it said 12:30pm. We went the day it starts and no one was there and it was locked. Guy was rude. We went another day and it was dirty. Do not go would not recommend
Love the old time theater feel. Place is very clean 95% of the time, I would know, we come here a lot. The seats do not recline but are comfy enough too enjoy the movie. We always buy the yearly popcorn bucket which will pay for itself as many movies we watch. Then bring your bucket back each time and only pay $5.00 for a large bucket of popcorn and includes free refills! Plus, the popcorn is delicious. Love that Rock Hill has this hidden treasure and we do not have too leave town and worry about traffic!
I have avoided this place for years because of bad experiences, but once I heard it was bought by AMC, I figured they would have cleaned the place up a bit or something. The pictures posted are of the bathrooms, feces smeared on the walls, the toilets were beyond disgusting. Taking my 5 year old son into this bathroom was a mothers NIGHTMARE! There was a group of employees just standing around the concession stand talking and joking around in between movie showings when they could have been cleaning. When I informed the lady behind the counter that there was feces smeared on the wall of the stall, she said "yeah, that happens". I do understand that $4.99 is still extremely cheap to see a semi, new release movie but these conditions are unacceptable. DO BETTER AMC!!
Place is really going down hill fast. Ceiling tiles missing in the theater. Still has same stain on the screen that's been there for 15 years. Bathroom for men worse than ever. Doors taken off stalls. One urinal now... Dirty. When it was Carmike they kept it a touch cleaner. Movie prices have gone up..being first run now. Consessions are thru the roof... 15 bucks for a large soda and popcorn. Hate to see it become a worse pig sty than it ever was... Come on AMC ... Put a few bucks into roof repairs and clean it up a bit...
Good for the price of the tickets. Average everything. Pretty much what ya would expect.
Very nice atmosphere and theatre
Always enjoy going to the movies with my family. Prices are great and not expensive
The showing of the movie was good and the clear, sound was good. The theater is on the older and smaller size so set your expectations based on that. On the up side the staff was very friendly. I will go there again in the future.
I just rode thru, nice looking Cadillac on the front row caught my eye.
Reasonable priceing stops @ the ticket booth..Old but serviceable establishment..
Obviously prices are not as good as the cinema was but my kids do like the Icee machine and serving themselves. We like being able to put the butter on our popcorn and get our own drinks
Older theatre but a good value, clean, good screen and sound. Great place to take a family.
Holy moly this place is run down. I thought it had been abandoned from the looks of it. Theater was ok but not great. Popcorn a bit salty. Wish they would update it to the new recliner seats.
