Only been here three times, but two out of the three were horrible. The first time it took forever to even put our order in for food. Then when it finally did come the movie was more then half over, and that was only for popcorn and a drink. This last time we never even got anything we ordered. Very disappointed. It seems very unorganized and staff not very friendly.

I read the reviews prior to going and I was expecting to either a great experience or a terrible one. I am pleased to say - it was very nice and I have no complaints. We arrived 30 minutes prior to showtime (as the website suggested) and the server took a drink order right away. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Food was outstanding and the light level was great. I could still see my food but the screen was great quality. We went on a Sunday afternoon. I would highly recomend.

Absolutely loved the movie tavern. This is the only way to go to the movies. The staff was great. Super friendly. Food was great and service was quick. If you haven't had a chance to visit, you definitely need to.

We’ve been here multiple times and usually have a good time. We took our daughter to her first ever movie, Lion Ling. It took over a half hour to get drinks and the movie was almost over my the time we got food. I get it was opening weekend, but shouldn’t they have been prepared. To top that off when drinks came, we got the wrong ones. And then they dropped off the wrong food and got angry when we pointed it out. The lady next to us never got her food at all and the waitress stated she just never got orders in... ummmm what?!?!

Horrible experience. First time at this theater and the first time I have never had popcorn at a movie. Sound system was terrible. It was warm in the theater. Service was horrendous. No one came to the seats until we were 40 minutes into the movie. We didn't order anything, but the people besides us ordered and their food came out when the credits were rolling. Plus they ran out of french fries. Never going back. Will go to the traditional theaters.

The theater is nice and seats are comfortable. the sound is also great which it should be at $15 ticket. What is NOT awesome is the dining experience. We waited 45 min for 2 sodas then another 20 for two appetizers. (all ordered together) I ordered spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was cold and had hardened. Could not dip chips through the hard upper layer. I took it down to the server put my fingers in the dip and lifted up two inches of hard dip. told her to take it back to which she took it and laughed. She did not offer to make it right or try to bring another. The other app was General Tao cauliflower, it was cold. I remind you this is after waiting an hour from the time we ordered. Her excuse was that the theater was slammed. I walked around and it looked like 4 people in the kitchen not doing much and the parking lot was maybe 10-15% full. The women next to us, who had the same timing experience and also returned her food said the server told her all the staff went back to school. Either way the whole point of going there is to eat and watch a movie to which they failed miserably. Cant see myself returning.

This place was a 4 or 5 star when it first opened. Abundant friendly staff that were quick to respond. Went at least 4 times and had great experiences. Ever since Marcus took over it’s been a complete turn for the worse. Expect to wait at least 15 minutes before placing any orders. Expect to then wait 30-40 minutes to get your drink order. If you get your food and have more than 20 minutes left in the movie to eat it consider yourself lucky. The last three times we’ve been here it’s been the same bad experience. Completely different from the great start when it first opened.

Loved this place the first and second times that I visited. My last experience was TERRIBLE. I waited for well over an hour for a pizza that was cold, dried out and burnt. My beverage never arrived. When I left the theater there was a little girl crying because she was hungry - their food never arrived. There was another person complaining to his family that it was the worst experience he ever had at a movie theater and he’d never be back. This seems to be the normal reaction from everyone I’ve spoken to about this place. It’s a shame - I loved this theater when it first opened. Despite the pricey food and beverages the experience was spot on and and worth the drive and extra expense. I don’t know what happened but I will never go back and I will not recommend it ever again.

We recently visited the movie tavern for the first time. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server was James who was very pleasant and made some recommendations on what to order. The food was good and the chairs were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at the tavern. We will definitely be back.

It's a great cinema! The screen rooms are very cozy. $5 Tuesdays are a hit, especially with the free popcorn for rewards members. The food on the other hand is ridiculously expensive in my opinion, or they could maybe give you a bit more food for the price that you're paying. I'm definitely gonna be seeing more movies there but maybe eat at Texas Roadhouse before so that I don't have to purchase their food.

We went to see a movie and have dinner on Mothers Day. We ordered drinks and our food 20 min before the movie ever started. Never got any of our drinks or our food and the movie was over. It was not only my family but the whole theater and the theater across from us. Management blamed short staff and the new ownership for the reason. Not sure if I will go back again. Service was great when the theater first opened but has been getting worse each time we have gone there over the past couple of months!

I had the best time in so long with my kids... this movie theater is by far the best I've ever been to .... it is so comfortable and so relaxing I can see myself going there once a week with my kids .... definitely a 5 star

The worst experience ever. I've always heard horror stories about not being served for almost the entire movie and never getting food or drinks and I thought that would never happen to me and that the stories weren't true. But boy was I wrong. It took almost an hour to get a server to come over and take our drink order. Another half an hour to put in food. Another 25 minutes to get the food. And by the end of the movie I still hadn't received a drink. Then the server had the audacity to say feel free to have your drink at the bar. it's going to be a while before I even think about coming back.

Server never came but saw him In the hall joking and laughing with another co worker. approached a manager for a refund and was told go to the box office.... not a hey what was wrong with your experience or an attempt to correct the situation like managers do. In all fairness he looked like a defeated man who'd had enough and managing a staff that clearly didn't care.

The only thing I liked about my first experience at the movie tavern was the comfortable seating and the movie. The rest of the experience was meh. We waited over 20 minutes to get a server. Once we ordered, it took 50 minutes to get our drinks. All of the waiters and food runners were a huge distraction to the movie. Great concept, but they need to do a better job executing.

First time there and it was a little confusing because I bought late night tickets online and just walked in and grabbed a beer. Didn't get much instruction when walking in but chalked that up to an 11:30pm show time. Didn't get food this time but I will definitely be back to get food because it was the best movie experience I have ever had. Great service and the reclining chairs are amazing and you can DRINK BEER IN THE THEATER. Must go.

Extremely wheelchair accessible Very good seating position in the theater while sitting in a wheelchair. The staff is very kind and polite. I definitely will be returning to watch more movies. I had a tavern Burger which was very good and the seasoned fries we're very enjoyable as well.

Love the seats however, service is extremely slow to even take your order and even when you get your food things are missing and you can count on waiting another 15 mins just to get it corrected and if that’s not enough to ruin the night out make sure you tack on another 15 min waiting for your check after your movie has already ended this has happened to my husband and I on three separate occasions needless to say this will be our final time going to this faculty due awful service and low staff

First time going and I must say I've never felt so comfortable at a movie theater. The place is so clean, the seats still smell brand new. You don't see any food or popcorn at all on the floor. The server was extremely nice. Had the Mac and cheese with grilled chicken which was very tasty. Prices are a bit much so unfortunately it's not a place I can go every weekend but it's a nice place to go for a long movie.

This is the most awesome place to see a movie. The seats could not be more comfortable. Was able to sit through the 3 hour Avemgers:Endgame without feeling uncomfortable at all. The food was very good, not too expensive, and restaurant quality compared to most theaters. The lounge is a great place to hang if you get there early.

Seats very comfortable. However we ordered our food and waited and waited and waited and waited. Movie is over we are reading the credits and still no food. We received a bill for the drinks which was part of the meal. The manager removed all charges and gave us free vouchers to see any movie. Suggestion: eat before you get there or you may have to eat after you leave.

The atmosphere was really neat. We ordered the steak and shrimp meal. The shrimp was good and the steak wasn't to bad. I wished it had a little more flavor but can't expect to much from a movie theater.

I go to the Trexlertown location all the time. The theater itself with the recliners is great but that is the only reason I keep coming back. Food and drinks usually take forever to get (30-45 minutes, sometimes longer). Also since they switched to Marcus, you can no longer just use the QR code on the app to get in. I buy tickets on the app ahead of time. Then I have to wait in another line when I get there to show them the confirmation (with people who did not buy their tickets ahead of time). Or sometimes they even make me log into the kiosk to input my confirmation code and print out tickets. What is the point of using the app. Before it was Marcus I could just scan the QR code and grab a menu. And the wait staff should have a device to scan the rewards code when ordering. Instead you have to physically write your (very long) reward ID on the check at the end (in the dark) in order to accumulate points.

Great movie but no one checked our tickets we walked right in... But the bathrooms were dirty toilet paper everywhere and for a newer facility the bathroom stall were on the tight side... Seats next to us broke and the guests couldn't lower them down and my head rest was pushing to much on my neck where was not comfortable at all... And just like the bathroom stalls the seats although for the most part were comfy the arm rests were really narrow and the guy next to me kept hitting my elbow... So it was ok... Would I visit again maybe just to get out of the house but I wasn't wowed!

Great movie theater! They have all the great new releases, as well as old movies. The recliner seats are just so comfortable! They recline quite fast too. So you don't have to wait a whole minute to go from the reclining position to sitting upright. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town.

First time I was here My wife and I were never waited on we weren’t that hungry so it is what it is. Second time food came out at the end of end game which is a long movie. We asked to see a manager who never came. We were charged anyways. Ive heard nothing but bad things since so not sure how this place is getting good reviews.

Keith at the front was amazing. I watched him interact with customers positively as I waited for the kids to get out of the bathroom. Extremely polite to every single person an overly formal with sir to every customer. Gray person have a part of your staff and a great first impression for somebody walking into the movies.

Every time I’ve gone to order it takes 20 mins AT LEAST didn’t get our drinks until late into the movie and our food till even later. The server didn’t check on us at all or ask for refills. Our empty food trays sat in front of us the entire movie when they should have been taken away. It’s a comfortable theater but man don’t order food or drinks here. Not worth the price or time.

Went with my wife and son to see Zombieland: Double Tap last night. While the staff was very friendly, it took almost 45 mins for us to get the food that we ordered, and when we got it it was cold. We saw people around us who had ordered after us receive their food quickly. I think I will stick to my local theater. The food is much better, and comes out quickly and still piping hot. Thumbs way down here.

This place was great when it first opened, but now it is under new management and the food has changed even though the menu and prices are the same. We always order the nachos with beef, they used to be loaded with beef, beans and cheese.... now it’s basically just chips with a few specks of beef on there. Very disappointing! I gave it 2 stars because the chairs are very comfortable!

The food there helped me forget that i was watching a scary movie. The food and the drinks was appetizing. The waitresses were kind and gentle. Not like your normal waitresses that as though they don't want to work or truly SERVE people. The reclining chairs were relaxing on my back and my legs. I felt as if i was in my own home theatre. Well, it's very nice. The theaters are big and the chairs can be reclined, so it's very comfortable. The best part is, you can order food and eat it while you watch the movie. I got a pizza and though it was a bit on the thin side, it was still great! Sadly, a coke or a Pepsi is $5 which is outrageous but I assume that's how they make money since the theaters don't accomodate a lot of people at once. Overall, I'd go back because it was fun. P.s. you don't have to buy food to watch a movie so you pay the normal cost of a ticket and enjoy the reclining chairs.

Have gone several times and keep hoping the service will get better. Seems to be getting worse. I feel the servers and kitchen are doing their best to keep up but management has the place understaffed. We had one server for an entire theater and while I was annoyed that our order was wrong when it came, it was nothing compared to the several parties that never got their food at all. The extra cost for the tickets and the overpriced food and snacks aren’t worth the convenience. We won’t be going back for a while.

Fun place! Dricks and apps were good. Next time, we won't order entrees - they were disappointing. The burger and fries everyone around us was eating smelled AWESOME! Don't expect amazing food and you won't be disappointed. The comfy chairs and ability to eat a meal while watching a movie are the sure winners here tho! We'll be back.

Over an hour for our beverages, and 2 out of 4 drinks were incorrect - although our food came out in stages, some right away, some 30 minutes later. Would have been nice to enjoy a beverage with our meal.... The chairs were quite comfortable, but everything else about the experience was chaotic and disorganized.

I've been here several times since it's opened, but last night was my final time. Waited in line with my pre-bought ticket to be told I need to go to another line to get my print-out, then wait to have it scanned. This was actually the first time my food was delivered quickly, but the staff was clearly overworked and flustered. Waiter kept asking me to repeat myself during the movie while he entered the order on his tablet. I don't blame him though, the whole place just felt unorganized. Beer tasted like the taps need to be cleaned and my food did not leave me feeling great. Lastly, I was there for a Fathom event and was supposed to get some freebees but (surprise) they ran out before I got there. The manager couldn't care less and seemed like he didn't want to be there.

I absolutely love the movie tavern!! The seats are nice and big, they recline, too! I’ve been there 4 times and no experience. And you can’t beat $5 Tuesday’s! The prices are so reasonable. Especially vs Fox Theater in Wyomissing!

I wanted to love this place and I'm still hopeful but my visit was really disappointing. I used to live near an alamo drafthouse and thought this place would be the same. We drove 45 minutes to come here and past multiple movie theaters to try this place out. The good- the seats are really comfortable and the idea of a full service movie theater is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I hate seeing a movie any other way. The bad - the popcorn was cold we sent it back , cold movie theater popcorn is gross. I'm not a brat expecting a fresh batch but every movie theater keeps popcorn in a warmer before serving it. When we sent it back the server brought back another one that was the same. The drinks were terrible. It was really hot in the theater. Service was really slow. Seems like a great concept but run by someone who is too cheap to do it well. The whole atmosphere just wasn't like an Alamo. It seemed like no one was working and no one cared. I hope this changes if it does I'll give it another try. But it doesn't seem like management reads or responds to reviews

Had to adjust my review. First time we where there we had a great time. This time was not as great. Took about 20 after we sat down for server to assist us. Then it took 20 minutes for drinks to come. It took over 40 minutes from the time we placed of food order until it came. The food was great. Then the kids wanted curros. It took over 20 until the server came after we pressed the light. Then it took over 30 minutes until they came. None of them server looked like they wanted to be there. Every single one had a sour face. Completely different from the first time we went. Seats and food great. If we could have gotten up to order our own food we would have. All of us would have loved another drink but didn't dare push the button.

This is my second visit to the Movie Tavern location. The first one was in Flourtown. The first visit wasn’t the greatest, but I wanted to give them another shot. Overall experience was comfy but the service was horrible. The quality of the food was passable but service time was well over the hour range. Price of admission was OK considering the level of comfort, while the menu prices were a little steep, I suppose that is to be expected at a movie theater. The bar located in the lobby was a fun, hip vibe but was not redeeming. Im not one to complain, (I understand corporate limitations and I’ve worked serving jobs so I’m fairly forgiving) but I probably won’t go back.

This is such a cool idea. The food is really good. They have entrees such as salmon or chicken fajitas. Great, really good unique appetizers, pizza and large variety of toppings. They also have different burgers and sanwiches, mixed drinks and beer and much more. The recliners are so comfortable. The servers don't get in the way of your view of the movie. The seating set up is great for a perfect view of the movie. I had a great time.

Great experience today for The Lion King. They have righted the ship after the tough week or two they had around Endgame. Food is more consistent and the full menu has been back for several weeks. Our server, Carol, was great. In fact, we left our refillable popcorn bucket behind and I went back later to get it and she had set it aside. Movie Tavern is our first choice for movies.

I've been here multiple times and have never come across a major issue. Food is great, seats are super clean and comfy, and etc. HOWEVER.... I've heard there were some issues the other day regarding the food supply and how they have been selling out all Avengers movie times... I arrived 45 minutes before show time. There was a HUGE line for the bar. We stood in it for at least 15 minutes because there were Avenger themed drinks. When it was our turn, they had no more liquor. They said we could order it at our seats. We go to our theater. Staff then tells us they cannot order food from the seats but we can order it from the bar. So we waited in line even longer to find out they had the most pathetic menu with the food available. We ordered pizza and chicken tenders. We went back to the theater. It took FOREVER to get someone's attention to order drinks. Turns out they barely had anything available although they just told us we could order from there... I ordered a slushy and popcorn. I got the slushy, but it was a mess. Dripping all over the cup and on me. Of course they didn't give me a napkin so I had to ask a stranger for his used napkin to clean everything up. After 1 & 1/2 hours goes by, we ask where our food was. They said they'd check but never returned. We ended up watching this 3 hour movie WITHOUT OUR FOOD. So many issues with that experience. LACK OF COMMUNICATION, NO FOOD or DRINKS, LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, etc. I really hope this situation never occurs again and that the manager is more prepared when he sees this many theaters sold out for the BIGGEST MOVIE EVER. Obviously everyone will be ordering meals and drinks.

Love the chairs, movies and food was decent. I had the kids I babysit with me, my food was good, but one of my kids order was wrong and the others had so much dressing on it that she couldn't finish it. The free popcorn did kind of make up for it though. I love that they have the $5 movie on Tuesday with free popcorn. Prices of food were reasonable. For the fried chicken sandwich with fries, it was $13 and I was so full after the sandwich that I couldn't finish the fries. The fries themselves were subpar and were a little gritty, like they were frozen fries and were under cooked. Overall, the place was clean and I look forward to going again.

This was one of the worse visits to a movie theater ever. It’s supposed to be a theater that you can get served while watching your movie. We bought our tickets days in advance to come see the movie we chose. And there was nothing on the website that told us we could not order our food in the theater or that the menu only had four things on it that you could order from. So we get there 20 minutes before the movie starts only to be told after we have not eaten anything all day that we could not order food in the theater that we had to stand in a line that was almost out the theater door And order our food there. So my husband waited in line and ordered our food and was told it would be delivered to our seats. 2 1/2 hours later my food was delivered and his never was. We were also told that you could order your drinks at our seats we sat there for almost an hour waiting for somebody to answer our bill to order a soda and a water. We come to this movie theater at least once a week. If this was our first experience here it would definitely be our last and it still might be. The food sucked the service sucked and it was just an all-around disappointing visit.

A legitimately enjoyable experience. Great for families or friends. Don't come expecting 5-Star food. Expect nice restaurant quality comfort food, made all the better thanks to the comfortable seats and the ongoing movie experience. I expected service to be more distracting than it was. What turned out to be more distracting was eating while trying to watch a movie.

my first time here was amazing. the best movie experience you could ask for. if you're like me and don't like to go out, this place us great. they have reclining chairs, and it's like a restaurant of sorts. the one thing i would complain about is, i shared shared a game day platter with my family. we got two, because they like cheese and i don't. well, and i'm not exaggerating when i say they literally gave me six fries. i actually counted them. they were six. and honestly, you could probably get a regular meal for more than that amount of food. but that probably wasn't the point of, it wasn't probably to just have variety. but overall the concept and experience is great

Really awesome experience! The ticket purchase was pretty easy and quick. The seats were awesome with a tray table to eat from properly. The food was good with a great selections for people without food allergies/intolerance. I would have appreciated more grain/gluten/dairy free options. I was able to make a meal using their chicken sandwich w/out the bun and a side salad. Be early so you can order and not miss the show! Also the bar area looks really fun. They have a couple games set up to include shuffleboard, and a living room area to hang out in.

This movie theater is the best!! The 5-dollar tuesdays are a great deal where the tickets are exactly 5 dollars and you get free water and popcorn. The app makes it super easy to buy tickets in advance , and you don't have to pay any fees or anything like you would for other movie theaters. Plus the pizza here is amazing. Overall, it's the best movie experience in the area.

Very clean and great way to see a movie. I think (hope) they were having an off night. Food wasn't served until half way through the movie. Made us feel rushed. Aside from that nice. Very clean and nicer than other other theatres around.

First time going and loved it. I did have two problems, first it was hot! Never been in a theater where its basically same temperature as outside , usually theaters are over cool. Other than that, I really liked it. Waitress was nice, and $5 Tuesdays with free popcorn, can't beat it! Just don't expect the same popcorn you normally buy, its cold, without any salt or butter but can't complain when it's free.

It was an overall good experience. The screen was a good size and crystal clear, the seats were very comfortable and the food was good and not outrageously expensive. Service was good though a little awkward with the movie running. Unfortunately I left my newly minted rewards card there and found out that nobody answers the phone at the location. That was frustrating and I thought if I had lo left something really important and got all the way home I wouldnt be able to contact the theater to keep it safe until I got back there.

Its a very nice experience to watch movies here. They have services on the seat. They usually take orders just before the movie starts and try to deliver as soon as possible without disturbing the others. Food quality and drink collection is good.

Very pleased. Staff was attentive. Food was good. Seating was very comfortable. We will go back. Wish there was one of these closer to Bethlehem PA though. Leaving here and trying to get back on RT 78 was typical of the Lehigh valley. Red lights.

Not the best service, food is very over priced especially for the quality. Drinks were pretty good. Movie theater was very nice though. They charged our card when we said we decided to pay cash and left cash at the end.. won’t be going back.

Last night I ordered food during the previews and it didn’t come until the end credits. My drink didn’t come until a little over an house into the movie. This isn’t the first time I’ve waited an unacceptable amount of time for food and drinks. The service needs to be better. Idk if they need more cooks, more servers.. or what but they need to have a time limit of how long people should wait for food.

The movie screen, seating very nice. The food in my opinion horrible. I ordered a pizza, it came out cold and chewing on a shoe would have tasted better than that pizza. Next time i'll eat somewhere else before going to see a movie

I wanted to like it but it was not meant to be. The concept of sitting back and enjoying a meal while the movie plays was a no go for me. I arrived early just to get the food out of the way so I could enjoy the movie however was told to wait 15 mins for the theater to be cleaned. My wife and I get to our seats, the previews are rolling and still no service. Our orders were taken just before the movie started. Fast forward a half hour later the food starts coming in, the servers did their best to keep out of the way of the movie but it's pretty much inevitable; the food was not at all hot, the drinks were flat, you can't see what you're eating for that matter. The movie was not finished when the servers start walking up and to hand you the receipts! One is better off going to an actual theater where one can relax and watch the movie without the constant interruptions. The eating while trying to watch a movie is not at all a pleasant experience. I like to see what I'm eating. The chairs were comfortable and the facility is nice however I won't be returning.

Not a fan of having people constantly walking in front of the screen to serve food. Too much distraction, couldn’t enjoy the movie.We ordered food and the food took forever to come and after the meal came we still had to wait another 30 minutes for drinks which we had to call for. Food service sucks and is expensive. If the food is going to be expensive at least have good quality and good service.

Placed my order once i got there and never received anything, after waiting an hour i clicked for a server and asked for my food which he apologized for and then i received my soda after 20 minutes after that. At that time the server told me he would check on my food and have someone bring it to me, i waited and then after waiting 20 minutes i asked if my food was coming even though the movie i was watching was about to end in about 20 minutes or so and he replied “i’m sorry but the kitchen is closed.” but then i did receive my soda for free but it doesn’t excuse terrible service.
