This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
I like the variety of stores, shops and restaurants around, but in some places it still has that country feel, which is good
Definitely the better of the two theatres in State College. Some seats are in grave need of refurbishment, but the staff is smiling and the food is good. I just wish they had an app for rewards and reservations.
Took my nephews here. It was our first time at this theater. When we entered the theater and grabbed our seats, we found that it was a little on the chilly side. As we were walking out after the show, a very friendly staff member was waiting at the door. She handed us free passes for the next time we visited and apologized that the heat was broken down. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff! Highly recommend!
Nice place since they renovated it
Theatres are definitely in need of some TLC. Many of the covers on the chairs are ripped. Ceiling tiles are cracked and missing and as a result the AC unit is louder than it should be for a movie setting. Quality of sound and screen is alright.
Upscale theater! However, I think it requires a bit of maintenance.
Most of the chairs are ripped and missing covering
This place is a dump. Went to a movie there and sat and waited for a half hour before they came in and cancelled the showing. The manager was a jerk. Avoid this place at all cost. Very sad but the other one is just as bad. The parent company doesn’t care either.
I've only got one problem with this theater, it's the seats aren't wide enough for the larger viewers. I'm 6ft, 300lbs and I feel tucked in with those chairs up top
Nice facility
Good place to watch movies.
Shows almost all movies and has friendly staff. The popcorn is really good!
Good movie-hobbs-Great theatre.
I mean I saw Endgame there so how could it be bad?
Needs to refurbished with comfortable seats
Really really cold, had to leave halfway through ifinity war....... I even bought a thick sweater.
Terible quality
Free popcorn on discount Tuesday if you show your loyalty card.
Nice theatre. The seats are okay nothing amazing. If you are a student you should always take your student ID and get the student discount, they student tickets are not available online so if it's going to be a popular movie you better get there early or go and book in person a few days ahead of time. Tuesday's are half off and truly the best time to go if you are looking for a great deal on a student budget. The concessions don't have a huge selection, but one of friends truly enjoys the White Castle Burgers even though they are just the freezer section ones. I wouldn't go trying their odd snacks but that's up to you.
They need to update their seating and decor. The seats don't recline. They're the standard late 90's theater seats.
Nice theater and love the free popcorn and perks
Great seats; good food. The theater sound system is really good
Saw captain marvel with 2 other people in the theater. Decent experience.
Nice theater, prices are average for a movie and snacks. Seats are comfortable.
My favorite movie theatre in State College
Courteous staff, reasonable concession prices (for a movie theater), it's popping, just wish the screens were bigger and higher resolution.
Nice
Perfect movie theater. Affordable tickets. Clean theater. Friendly staff. Their rewards program is nice (free popcorn on Tuesdays), but somewhat limited in your ability to choose how to spend earned points.
Generally have had a good experience at this theater. However, they lock the front doors at 10:15PM. Was not comfortable having an egress point blocked while people are still inside?
All around good movie theater. Love the family meal deal 2 lg drinks and large popcorn. Refillable!!
Projector is broken so even though we paid full price we’re sitting here in the dark listening to previews and nothing on the screen. They claim it will work when the movie starts. AND when I bought the tickets they knew the projector was broken and didn’t tell us and still charged us full price. Customer Serive is TERRIBLE. If you have the option... do NOT come to this movie theatre.
This theater is generally very clean, which I appreciate. They also have really comfy chairs. This is my go-to theater in the State College area.
Very nice atmosphere, great prices(for a theater), and a very nice theater. I would definitely recommend this as something to do in State College!
Great family experience
Everything was clean, staff was friendly, and movie quality was great.
Compared to the theater I grew up with in State College, the College Nine and the UCE 12 are absolute luxury. Instead of tiny rooms that smelled bad, these theaters have spacious rooms with comfortable seats that rock back a bit. And 9 or 12 rooms instead of 2 or 4. The popcorn is still overpriced, but on Tuesday you get free popcorn and all movies are $5. That can't be beat.
Watched the RGB movie. Good movie in a nice theatre.
Standard movie theater, nice inside. Prices aren't terrible, and customer service was great. I was charged wrong somehow, but the staff were friendly and quick to respond.
Normally the theaters are well kept, but I must have been in an old room which is the 1st one on the left. Terrible uncomfortable seating, screen was dark and unclear. Blahhhh!
Attended a 7 PM show last night, entered auditorium to find that it had not been cleaned since the previous showing, seats were littered with pop corn, drink cup, etc., challenging to find a clean seat in the dark. Unacceptable!
Pretty good movie theater that's kept clean and comfortable.
It's good for this area. Movies are on time, theaters are clean. Of course, the screens aren't all that big and a large soda costs $5.50.
Decent little theater, screens are ok although I don't think they have any IMAX
Really nice place for sure. Kept pretty clean and the staff is normally friendly, quick and seem like a hard working group. Popcorn is so good and the prices aren't so bad for a movie ticket. The concession stand prices are a little steep
Comfortable. Theater are hard to keep clean, but this one does a decent job of it. It shouldn't cost $100 just to take a family of 5 to the movies and get a snack and drink for each of us.
The seats where great, but the bathroom could have been cleaner and bigger.
Friendly Staff and Great Popcorn.! Shows a lot of movies daily.
Comfortable seats. Ultra-expensive concessions. The men's rest room is terribly small. Theatres are as clean as can be with college students as patrons..
Very clean, prices are kinda high on the refreshments but I love that they have a great deal on movie tickets on Tuesdays!!
Average movie plex. Nothing stands out as great. Went in mid afternoon and there was nobody there so purchase was simple. Quite a few employees sitting in room in back of kitchen. Didnt really seem interested whether I was there or not. No smile, no thanks, no nothing really. Took money said screen 6 on right and went back into room. Theater itself was fine. Clean. Bathrooms were clean and screen was in good condition.
Seats are not comfortable. Otherwise, it was fine.
I come from a country where they classify the seats between preferencial and regular. The preferencial ones are chairs for first class airplanes and they bring you sushi right to your seat. I went to see la Llorona. Oh my G!!! Good think the movie theater was empty. I was screaming because I was scared. Good pop corn.
Excellent service
Pretty good Theatre and Tuesdays are half price. Wished the membership card could be placed in keychain.
Everything one would expect from a movie theater (good, drinks, seats, screens, etc.) plus a very nice, helpful staff.
Tuesday evenings with their reward card gives you free popcorn and price was only $5.00 per person.. the movie Overcomer was an excellent movie.
Not a good movie house. Don’t like it one bit.
Love cheap Tuesdays! $5.50 All Day!
Chairs are very old and clunky
Great place to go and see a movie. Many many great times available to fit your schedule. Wide variety of movies playing and great seating is available. Good prices. Good menu for food. Clean and new seats. Great friendly staff. They actually smiled. lol
Come here every week. Would appreciate it if they treated loyal customers better. The reward system is so bad.
Comfortable seats and good sound.
Nice theater with clean aisles and floors. Small separate theaters feel intimate, so be prepared to feel like you're watching TV with family, instead of a movie with strangers.
Great experience.
I've had both good and bad experiences at this theater. My experience has been based on the person I interact with. However, overall I believe that 95% of the staff are good people.
Been going here after I discovered their $5 movies for students 2 years ago and still going there. Nothing very different when compared to all the other movie theater. Never got disappointed service wise.
The people who provide service is good. But the theatre itself is old , seats are old and dusty. But since it's in a college town.
Nice modern movie theater. I personally think the popcorn and drink price is outrageous.
Entry into the theater is made in such a way that light from the outer area does not enter the theater, thus eliminating the distraction when late comers arrive. Seating is tiered allowing for viewing over the heads of those in front of you and the rows are spaced far enough apart that leg room is sufficient. Cup holders are in the arms and the seats lean back slightly making it more comfortable for those who like to slouch. Seat size is adequate for most, but might not accommodate exceptionally large people. The sound system was way too loud for the size of the room; seating is for around 150-200. The concession area is large and open to allow for a sizable crowd with multiple attendants dispensing tickets.
Prices are high, but the movie quality is nice.
Saw Interstellar here, a super long movie, and was comfortable most of the time. Had no trouble seeing the screen, and the movie started on time. Decently cheap compared to most movie theaters I have gone to.
Nice movie theater
Nice place, great for the $5 Tuesday movie night. Only reason it isn't 5 star is that it isn't anything extraordinary, like you're not going to find a beer here or plush seating. The staff is nice though. Popcorn's alright.
It was a good quality movie screening. The picture was crisp and the audio was really good. However, the seats were essentially falling apart. Some didn't have parts of the cushions covered and others were broken. They were still comfortable but not good quality. If you're looking for a good movie experience but not a too comfortable one, this is the place.
Nice facility. Would recommend based on the fact that a movie started late due to technical difficulties and we were given two free passes for a future movie. Very friendly staff.
It looks really nice on the outside and it isn't like disgusting but it's not super comfortable or clean. It's an alright place to go if there are no other places
In need of a remodel. Not as nice as the theater across town.
Searched Google for movies and showtimes. Arrived at this theater to find a sign on the door that they are not playing any movies scheduled before 4.
Clean, large theater that's great to visit while at Penn State.
run down, but shows movies
Good fun
Very cold and really dirty floors.
Nice theater- good to take the family to
Nice theater. Tuesdays are $5 movies with a free popcorn if you get their loyalty card!
Everything was as expected, not exceptional or outstanding in some way, but quite good and satisfactory.
$5 Tuesdays is a wonderful opportunity to see current films more often than not. Stadium seating, lots of concessions, a loyalty program for tucks our refreshments, and the sound had been loud enough each time we've gone.
Lovely theatre.
Awesome time
Ok theater.
Terrible customer service. My friends and I arrived at the theater late for a 10P.M. show. They said that the theater had closed and when I tried asking one of the employees about this, he completely avoided eye contact and ignored me.
Good little theatre, clean and well kept.
Love the theater a little dirty tho
A little dated, but good service and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
It's an alright place to go watch a movie, but it's pretty rough. The seats are all torn and covered in gum. It's pretty fun down. The outside is still nice looking. The employees have a giant tub that they put popcorn in that looks like something I'd use while bobbing for apples. The prices are equally not great, but the food is passable at least. Probably due to its low traffic. The theater I was in had holes in the drop ceiling which was wild. Still would go again since it's close by.
Love this theater! Very nice, clean, always great movies playing!
Pretty uncomfortable seats that don't recline and are in an very upright position.
Average, nice theater. Not leather seats, but clean & adequate.
Digital projection and sound. Expansive snacks ... as usual. Old fashioned but comfortable seats. Open seating.
Wonderful great food comfortable seating
An average theatre of average cleanliness with average seating and average projection and an average sound system.
Good seating. We'll lighted for seniors. Bring a sweater in summer though. Clean bathrooms.
A little over priced but great movies
I've been coming here since it opened and like many things in life it's age is catching up to it unforuntely. *The staff is excellent! They are always polite and offer great customer service *. The building on the other hand is a different story. I had to come here today because my schedule permitted it not by choice. Maybe we got a bad theater room? Honestly though I find that most of the seats hurt my body (bottom and back) after about an hour and progressively get worse. I'm not old I'm in my 20's. I can usually tell when the movie is almost over, not because of plot or checking the time, but because I'm uncomfortable. There were even holes in the ceiling from where water damage had been... not just missing tiles but the kind where you can tell big pieces had fallen. The seats fabric was tearing even though they were still capable of reclining. I generally don't enjoy coming here but the employees are always great.
Clean theatre but the concessions are severely overpriced, even by theatre standards.
Pretty nice, comfortable seats. Not too expensive for the tickets. Surround sound was good. What you would expect
Pretty cool lobby but inside theater was a little lackluster
This place is the best especially on tuesdays which is only 5 dollars and free popcorn sooooooooooo awesome and cool best place ever
Closed caption options very helpful.
Typical local movie theater. Good prices and good selection of movies.
Spacious and fun, good prices, good staff, and always a great night out!
Good prices
Great movies, great seats
My husband and I went to see a movie a week ago at this theater. While the picture itself was fine, the air system was an annoying distraction. (It was noticeably loud when it turned on.) When my husband went out to say something about it, he was told they would turn the volume up on the movie. Unfortunately, turning the volume up did not tune out the loud air system. I am very hesitant to go back.
This place is in need if a major upgrade. The seats are dated, torn, and tattered. The projector is not fully aligned on the screen. And the theatre smely like urine. Its like they're not even trying anymore.
Cleanest theatre I've ever been in. The Staff were friendly, helpful, and informed. There was no sound-bleed from adjacent venues. The picture quality and sound were exactly where they should be, and the seats were more comfortable than a Royal Royce. The location is easy to find, adequate parking, and a "friendly" architecture (a welcoming facility.
Went to see Isn't it Romantic on opening day. We spent about 15-20 minutes after showtime staring at a blank screen. After a couple of us went to tell them, the manager finally came in and let us know the movie company did not send the password ("keys") to show the movie. How was that not checked before the first showing? He then offered "inconvenience passes" and told us they should have the codes working for the next showing, 2 hours after the original time slot. I asked if my current ticket would get me into the next showing, and he said "no, that's what the passes are for." I explained that it's not really an inconvenience pass then, it's simply delaying the showing of the movie I already paid for. Only after several of us complained this is not an adequate compensation for the inconvenience did he offer a refund on the original ticket. Definitely not going back.
Movie was great! Theater filthy, everywhere from the entrance way, refreshment area and inside theater. Popcorn, trash and general filth everywhere. Looked like vacuum hadn't been run in weeks. I didn't use the bathroom due to the filth because I was afraid to go in!
Has places to park. Prices for food are what you would expect from a movie theatre; can be viewed as overpriced. Aesthetically don't expect a lot since it's just a simple, relatively small movie theatre. They do show the new hyped up movies that seem to come out every few months Have to buy tickets at cash register, no fancy booths like other movie theatres
Nice movie theater. Clean, seats are comfortable with recliners.
Perfect clean
Great experience for my daughter's first movie!
Only one of two theaters. No complaints. Also no really premium movie watching experiences that are popping up these days. But it is a perfectly acceptable place to get out for a movie.
If I watch a movie on the big screen in State College it is always at the College 9. Some of the seats are showing their age, but the stadium seating always affords a great view of the screen and the sound never disappoints.
Can we please have ONE screen that isn't playing the same three blockbusters all the time?! There are so many good films we miss. How about every Cineplex has one art house screen?
Never crowded, clean, friendly staff, movie times are doable, after all it is state college and eveything closes early.
Dirty
I have a big problem with people who are willing to keep their doors locked until exactly 11:30 while thier customers freeze outside in 20 degree weather. They can't even apologize for it. Just repeating that they don't open until 11:30.
